Jade arrived at the Hospital, finding where Tachi took Cody's body. This was a huge deal. The secrets of the Mangekyo could finally be unlocked. She took in a deep breath, examining Cody's body. "Tachi, please inform everyone that no one is to speak of this event. Find out who was the man at the gates, and what he wants." She would remain in the room now, watching over the procedure to make sure nothing went wrong.

 TachiTachi nodded, silently disappearing. Nobody within the village would know about the event anyways, thanks to the routes Tachi had taken being totally invisible, and utterly secret to all except a few among the ANBU. None of them would be revealing anything about this anyways though.

Dr. Rich Toffen
A lot of commotion sounded as the head doctor, Dr. Rich Tofen entered the room where Jade, the Kazekage was. Dr. Tofen was a rather interesting character. He had a heavy german accent, and most thought him psychotic. He had a knack for killing more people than saving them, though it was mostly on purpose. When he saw Jade, he let out a high pitched 'Oh!'. "Jade! How nice to see you again! What have we 'ere?" He asked as he poked and prodded Cody's body. "Very fine specimen, very fine indeed!" He laughed in excitement as he lifted arm of Cody, and let it drop. He moved to the eyes, lifting the lids open. Dr. Tofen let out a half squeal of joy, and a gasp as he clutched his heart and took a few steps back, knocking over a table of supplies. "Ze eyes! Zey are beautiful! Ah this will be wunderbar!" He shouted and clapped, getting his orders from Jade and grabbing plenty of odd objects. He finally moved towards Cody's head, snapping on latex gloves. "No fear child, ze Doctor is here, let Rich Tofen's Carnival of Horrors begin!" He laughed maniacally as he used one of his tools to keep the eyelids part, and went at the eye with various items, working efficiently and fast. As he worked, he was humming an odd tune, and under his breath, muttering words. "Little tiny organ parts for everyone! Wunderbar! Doot dee doot dee!" He pulled one eye out, and held it in the air, using his other hand to open a jar of a certain liquid. "Ohh how pretty! So much red, for the dead! Hah! I am a poet no?" He asked as he dropped the eye into the jar, imitating the plopping noise with his own mouth. He went over to the next eye, performing the same thing. Dr. Tofen was finished, and Jade thanked him, grabbing the jars and stashing them away. She intended to have them locked away somewhere secret, and be guarded at all times. Dr. Tofen began to push her away, calling in his assistants. "Excuse my mein Fuhrer, but I have an apple to peel...an adam's apple AHEHEHE!" He laughed once more, picking up a rusted knife. "Now my minions," The Good Dr. said to his assistants. "Let us begin!"

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす  Let those who face me know.... Karonashi's bare foot crashed into the doors of the hospital, Sora held protectively in his arms as he charged through the corridors to an empty operating room. He carefully laid her on the table and turned back to the crowd of people who had started following him after he burst into the building. His eyes scanned back and forth over the crowd before locking onto a slender young man with a doctor's tag on his chest.
"You! She needs her stomach pumped and..." he fumbled the yellow paint bottle out of his pocket and scanned the side, reading the components.
"And something to remove any traces of lead poisoning that the stomach pumping doesn't flush. Can you guys do that?" The shocked audience, comprised largely of nurses and a few doctors, nodded almost in unison before breaking apart into a hive of activity. Within moments after the Gennin saying what was wrong, a trio of nurses came in bearing an apparatus that looked decidedly menacing, with tubes running from both ends, with one capped with something that looked like it was supposed to be inserted somewhere. ...that the Bone King is coming for their lives! Chakra Points: 31 (Academy Level : 25 + Bloodline Modifier +3/10 points) He flinched and stepped out of the room as the nurses slid one tube down Sora's throat, and one up....you get the picture. They began hooked the third tube from the apparatus onto a tank of water that another nurse had wheeled in, and once they were all connected one of the nurses began using a hand pump to pull water through the tube from the tank, down Sora's throat. The water being forced thorugh her system would hurt immensely, but it would also serve perfectly to flush out the vast majority of the lead paint.
It was after almost a half hour, and two tank changes, that the water coming out of the second tube in Sora had finally cleared. The nurses nodded and removed both tubes and pulled a hospital gown onto the girl before stepping out into the hall and nodding to the doctor Karonashi had pointed out earlier. The man nodded and stepped into the room as the nurse who had retrieved him brought an IV stand with a bag of solution already hooked up into the room. The man was complete business as he placed a needle onto the tube that ran from the IV bag, then placed the hypodermic needle into the girl's arm. The IV solution would clear away any after effects from the lead that had gotten into her system in the short interval. That accomplished, the doctor shooed the nurses out and turned his gaze to the girl to wait for her to regain consciousness.

Blinding lights. Thatʻs all Sora saw as soon as she opened her eyes. Perhaps, was she in Heaven? Did God finally show her some mercy and send her to a happier place? Slowly sliding her arms to help support her body, the girl moved into a sitting position just to feel an immense pain erupt form her throat, stomach, and backside. Who knew that Heaven was painful?
As soon as her eyes adjusted to her surroundings, Sora was astounded to see an operating room. And not just any operating room... but the operating room that she had been in once before when Tanzu had scratched her arms to near ribbons. Irony? God was torturing her even though she had already died. Nice... it seemed that torture was inescapable.
"Kyuuketsuki-san?" a voice whispered. Sora wheeled her head around, fear apparent in her eyes as she glared at a slender man in a lab coat, a tag introducing him as a doctor pinned to his chest pocket. "Good, you woke up. The stomach pump seemed to work perfectly."
Stomach pump... The girl looked around as she whispered those words in her mind. She didnʻt remember very much of what happened, but she remembered emptying the contents of the bottle into her mouth, swallowing hard as she tried to overcome to taste of death as it slid down her throat. But that wasnʻt all. She remembered a blurred figure enter her apartment and rip apart her letter before picking her up. She remembered hearing the words "You lost one family...why not give the rest of us a chance to become your new one?"
"Your boyfriend is outside, if you wish to see him." The doctor smiled, motioning toward the door. But Sora refused to look, refused to look at the person who had saved her life from herself.
"My boyfriendʻs dead. He died during the Cloverfield attack," she lied. She had no clue what had happened to Tanzu after she broke his heart. He had left the village and strayed into the desert. Just as Shay had.
"Oh, Iʻm sorry then-" but Sora cut him off with a simple motion of her hand. "Of course... you may come in now!" The doctor shouted in the direction of the door before walking out of the room.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi stood up from the bench he had perched on and stood to one side as the doctor moved out of the room.
"I'd be careful, she seems slightly disoriented, but that's to be expected after..." The Gennin cut the doctor off with a nod before he entered the room, noting as he did that the girl was pointedly staring away from the doorway. He shrugged to himself slightly before he took up the seat that the doctor had been using, easily capable of being patient enough to wait for her to acknowledge him. Considering that she had tried killing herself, the Kaguya was bracing himself for anger on her part. ...that the Bone King is coming for their lives! Chakra Points: 31 (Academy Level : 25 + Bloodline Modifier +3/10 points)

The doctor walked out of the office, his steps fading down the hallway. She heard him whisper something quietly before another personʻs footsteps grew louder and entered the room. It was definitely another personʻs. Their footsteps were lighter and calmer than the doctorʻs, just like a shinobi. A chair moved slightly as the hinges creaked under the weight it was now carrying. The chair was weak, almost broken actually, so the person may or may not have been very heavy. But it didnʻt matter. Sora knew exactly who had walked in.
"Why?" She whispered quietly. A cool breeze rolled through the window, shifting her lavender hair over her shoulder in the breeze. She wasnʻt angry. Just curious. Somebody had noticed enough to care? What a surprise... even Tanzu didnʻt care enough about her to take her to the hospital when she severely needed it. "Why did you bring me here?"

Karonashi leaned forward and placed his elbows on his knees and laced his fingers together in front of his face as he pondered how to react to the girl's question. He decided that giving her the unvarnished truth was the best course, not that his honor would have let him do any different.
"Because you are a Sunagakure kunoichi, and we the ninja of Sand must look after one another whenever possible. I don't know if anyone else would have recognized the look on your face as you left the training grounds, but I have seen it before and refuse to let someone do that." He shrugged, though with her looking away from him there was no way she could see that.
"My turn. Why? What could drive you to that dark decision?" He leaned back in his chair to await her answer, ignoring the chair's creaking as he moved. ...that the Bone King is coming for their lives! Chakra Points: 31 (Academy Level : 25 + Bloodline Modifier +3/10 points)

Seen that look before. The words rung through Soraʻs head for a good five minutes, even as the boy was talking. The look on her face must have been pretty wretched looking for anybody to notice, especially someone that she has never seen before in her life. When the boy voiced his own question, Sora finally turned slightly to look at the boy. He had long dark hair, much longer than her hair ever was, and dark piercing eyes. Even though their complexions differed greatly, the boy seemed to remind her of Tanzu just a little bit. But she would never voice that opinion aloud. Most would find that an insult.
"I may bore you to death with my story. Are you sure you want to hear it?" Sora asked quietly, her aquamarine eyes devoid of emotion. "I have only told this to two other people, and they have taken it to their grave. Can I trust you to do the same?" She asked, shifting her position in the bed to make herself more comfortable. The undying pain in her stomach spiked for an instant, but she ignored the pain as best she could. It would all go away soon, anyway.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi had seen the girl's eyes tighten for a moment as she shifted, and was able to guess what the pain was from. He stood up and rested a hand on her shoulder.
"A moment, But yes, what is said in confidence to me will never reach the ears of another from any mouth but your own." He stepped out into the hallway and had a low discussion with one of the nurses there, and after a pair of minutes, returned carrying a group of small pills and a glass of water.
"Try taking these, the nurse says that they should ease any residual pain from the stomach pumping. Once you have taken them, I will gladly listen to your history." To call it a story or a tale would have been insulting to her - it was not something she had made up to pass the time, it was her life that she had decided to share to answer his question and he would respect that. ...that the Bone King is coming for their lives! Sora gratefully took the water and pills from the boy, swallowing both in a single, fluid motion. "Arigatoo..." she whispered under her breath as she lay back against the wall behind her. The pills would take a while to take effect, and with her stomach now empty from her supposed stomach pumping, it would take even longer to enter her blood stream.
"I was born outside of Sunagakure. Somewhere in a the mountains closer to Konoha. Anyway, I was born to the Royal Family of this clan that was falling apart. Nobody wanted a female ruler; I was weak. In the multiple assassination attempts that came my way, both my grandmother and mother gave their lives for me. Fearing for his own safety as well as my own, my father abandoned the clan and took me to another mountain far away from everything that we knew. Our clan broke apart and was destroyed soon after our departure. For four years I lived in isolation from everything. My father plainly ignored me sometimes, and if he did notice me, it was to tell me that I was doing something wrong. But on the day of my fourth birthday my house was burned to the ground by rogue shinobi, my father trapped inside the house. I was alone then, with nobody to turn to and nowhere to go. I somehow found my way to Sunagakure after mindlessly traveling in the desert and getting lost in sand storm after countless sand storm. But everything just got worse.
Nobody would take me in, and the orphanage confined me to nothing more than a single room and a play area that I had no use for. So I ran away from the orphanage and lived on the streets. Nobody liked me much there either, but it was free and open, and I could go anywhere I wished. But then... I met her." Sora blinked slightly as she cleared her throat. She was starting to drone on and on about little details that didnʻt matter. She just needed to state the facts... just stick to the facts... "Her name was Kin Niigata, a retired kunoichi. She took me in and raised me as her daughter before she began to teach me the ways of the shinobi. I was never any good at it, but she kept on trying until I finally got it one day. That one day never came. Mrs. Niigata died of a heart attack on her way home from work and never came back for me. Nobody came to get me. Nobody cared enough to check. I sat at the kitchen table for two days straight and waited for her to come home. But the harsh reality of it all set in after the police came to gather her belongings and found me. I was once again alone in this world.
The police sent me back to the orphanage, where I broke out yet again and got a job here as an assistant nurse. With my salary I was able to rent out an apartment, the one you found me in, and I began to go to the academy to finish my lessons. Nobody really paid me much mind at the academy. I was the weakest in everything except medical jutsu, but you donʻt need any of that to pass the academy. Koizumi tried to teach me as much as she could, but she soon came to belittle me for not being like the others. In time, I would grow to resent and hate her. But through her, I met Tanzu Zamni and Shayera Nara. They were orphans just like me, and the Tanzu was the Hachibi host. Nobody really liked them much either, so we began to hang out and train together. Their skill was far above mine, and they graduated ahead of me. But Tanzu didnʻt care, and he still tried to make as much time as he could for me. We started going out after that, but the relationship didnʻt go very well. He was always getting into trouble with the higher-ups, especially the Kages, and I would somehow always get stuck trying to fix everything. Even at the Chuunin exams, he almost killed a few mist shinobi and almost killed himself in the process. Shayera was hurt badly in that battle and soon began to face the harsh reality of the world. In the end, she disappeared into the desert never to be heard from again.
I brought Tanzu back to Sunagakure, as he failed the first round. While here, my eyes began to open to our differences, and I terminated the relationship. It broke his heart, and he left Sunagakure and disappeared to join Shay. The only person that I left in this world was Koizumi, and I hated her more than anything else in this existence. Then Zane came into my life. He helped me finally become a Genin and pass the academy. For that, I was grateful. But then he was sick... and he soon died after that. He was like a father to me, and I had come to love him just like I had loved my real father.
I had befriended David at the Chuunin exams while I was visiting Tanzu. We had grown... decently close during that short time. I trusted that David would never leave me, as he was so strong. But the Cloverfield attack almost changed that. I was working in the hospital during the attack since I would have just been a burden in battle. I walked into a room and saw him, I saw David laying on the hospital bed. He was barely breathing, and the doctor said that he was going to die if they couldnʻt get his heart beating faster. Thankfully he recovered, but God had nearly taken everything from me a third time. I just couldnʻt cope with that... Tanzu, Shay, Zane, Kin, odou-san, obaa-san, okaa-san... they have all gone to Heaven. I just... I just wanted to see them again. I didnʻt think anybody would really care if I disappeared from Sunagakure anyway...."
Tears fell down Soraʻs cheeks silently as she finished her story, yet her eyes remained emotionless. It was in the past. People die. She had to face that reality if she ever wanted to become stronger. If she ever could become stronger....

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi rested his hand on top of hers as she told her story, squeezing it gently when she got to parts that were painful for her. When she finished, the teen remained silent for a long moment before tilting his head down to stare intently into her eyes.
"I came here just as the Cloverfield attacked, and survived that just fine. I'm perfectly healthy, so no mysterious illness. I'm not old enough to suffer a heart attack. And I have a strong sense of loyalty and respect to those who earn it." He took a deep breath and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Our pasts are not the same, that is true. But your losses... I know what that pain is. My... It was found out that I was the first person in my family who had incredibly high chances for my clan's Kekkei Genkai to awaken. Because of that, I was given training to become a shinobi one day." His dark hair fell across his eyes as he spoke, masking the emotion in them. "My younger brother idolized me, followed me around day after day, saying that when he was old enough that he would chase after me and become a shinobi as well." His voice became blander.
"When he reached thirteen, it was found out that he had the reverse curse of the Kaguya. While we are occasionally granted with the Kekkei Genkai, we are also cursed with a severe disease that weakens the body an insane amount. My brother carried this disease, and while it hadn't awoken yet, if he tried learning to be a shinobi, it would cripple him. He was forbidden by our parents to try. It broke his heart." He looked away from the girl now.
"I told you I recognized the look in your eyes at the training facility, it was because of what happened then. He had that look on his face one day. He said goodbye to me as I went to train. He had never done that before, and I didn't know why he had." He took a deep breath to steady himself. "I came home and went to the room we shared to tell him of a new trick i had learned." His free hand came up and brushed at one cheek directly below his eye. "I found him there, hanging from the ceiling. He had broken a hole into the roof and used his bedsheets to strangle himself. There was a note on the floor beside his feet. It..it told me to become a shinobi for both of us." He was quiet for a long moment before he shook his head and turned back to Sora, his eyes locking onto hers.
"You lost one family, and tried to take yourself away before you gave the rest of us a chance to become your new one. I'd really rather you not do that, you are someone who deserves a reason to smile." His hand came up and brushed her tears away. ...that the Bone King is coming for their lives! Sora looked up with surprise as the boy began talking of his own past, about his brother, and his family. A Kaguya! She had thought they were wiped out nearly 75 years ago. How lucky he was... to have such a strong bloodline as well as a strong body. She envied him for that, but she did not hate this boy. No, he was just a mystery to her that she wanted to learn more about.
But that didnʻt distract her from hearing about his brother. As a medical shinobi, Sora had been the news breaker when a child was crippled with a disease that would disallow them from entering the academy. But she had never thought for a moment what it felt like to be that parent, to be that child, to feel that kind of pain. She felt the words "Iʻm sorry" roll off her tongue, yet she was unsure why she was saying those words. She knew they couldnʻt fix anything. She knew they couldnʻt bring his brother back to life. But still, they came.
Sora felt a finger brush away her tears and she flinched slightly, startled. Nobody had ever brushed away her tears.... nobody had tried to make her smile before. Nobody had tried to be her family after Kin. "Thank you..." she whispered quietly, closing her eyes and intertwining her fingers into his, holding it to her cheek. His hands were so warm, unlike her own. "My name is Sora...." The lavender haired girl said quietly, her eyes remaining closed the entire time as she felt the afternoon sun streak through the window and fall across the sheets.
