*cuddles her zombie-bear and something you might you call a tear (if it wasn't a reddish/greenish gooey thing) drips from her eye socket as her stomach continues to growl...
finally giving up on getting through the front door or window she smells a fire burning and in hopes that it is food related she wanders off in search of it.. *
Meanwhile...
Across the way in a dark alley another creature has watched the young zombie as she knocked in hopes of food... "She doesn't even know why the humans fear her... I will show her.. and I will show her how to get her revenge..." and in the blink of an eye the alley is empty again...

Fire axes and knives, you're too close. Zombies are best avoided in melee.

* is there and gone in the blink of an eye leaving a note stuck to the window with what might be a human eye-ball as adhesive. * The note reads: You fear that which you do not know...
I will give you real reasons to fear....
The zombies will come...
Prepare...
Though it will do no good...

What about the upper floor? Is there an upper floor, attic, or crawlspace? If so is there any outlet to the roof?

Exxos *Takes fireaxe, blender, and broken meat slicer from back room* *Tinkers* *Rolls for his improvised weapons construction: Powered weapons.* SUCCESS! W00t! *Dashes out!* Behold my chain-axe! OOOOOOH! Nice! Um.. There's no upper floor. It's one level plus the finished basement. I suppose most places have a crawl space for ventilation though so yeah probably that. There's a larger chimney up from the main room and very small ones coming up from the kitchen area. There are a few large glass windows in the front of the building on either side of the large fireplace (currently boarded up). No windows in the back bar/kitchen area and none in the basement. There are two entrances/exits on the main floor; the front main entrance, and the kitchen/service entrance. There is also a fire exit out of the basement. It's a heavy duty door that only opens from the inside. It exits out to a below ground landing with cement steps up to the parking area in back.

Okay, well, crawlspace is workable, if the basement and main floor are overrun, we can probably punch through the roof from there and try to get over to a neighboring building.
