Maya all of the sudden was gripped with a feeling of unnameable terror. She gripped Rook's shoulder with surprising force. "Rook...ROOK?" she breathed desperately, "Let's get outta here...Please! The whole damn place is screamin' at me to make a run for it!"

Rook opened his eyes, the one on his finger melding back into his hand as Maya shook him. "I need you calm, Maya." He replied, gripping her shoulders with his hands, his grip firm, "I need you to listen to what these walls have to say. If we turn and run now, we got a little kid killed because we listened to some cowardly plaster. I need you to get me details. And I need to be sure you got my back if this turns into a s**t fight, alright, Maya?"

The walls were clear in one statement. There was nothing living inside the apartment.

Rook took a deep breath, before stepping away from Maya. "I will go in first. I'll let you know if I see anything inside. Now, Maya, I need you to keep an ear out for anything going on around hear. I need you to keep Olivia safe. You and Jeffery need to stand vigil and take care of things."

Olivia felt the familiar lump in her throat, usually coming about when she was getting pulled over, or scared out of her mind.
Cowering a little behind Maya, she pointed nervously over her shoulder towards said apartment, "Ya know, this gal talks to walls and s**t, right? Maybe this place is rigged up as a trap or something? For once, I'd take heed to a person talking with inanimate objects!" her exclamation was more of a loud whisper, flailing her arms in warning motions.

Maya's muscles seized up in panic as Rook went into the apartment. With a burst of desperate courage, she rushed in, seized him, and dragged him out of the apartment. Her grip was like a vice-clamp, so great was her urge to flee. "Don't fight me Rook! The kid's dead and we're next if we don't get tha F%#K outta here!" She exclaimed in a half whisper, half cry.

"Maya. This guy may not be a Keeper. but if he's running around killing people, we gotta stop him! What if the Keepers slap a leash on this guy? We gotta deal with this issue now."

Maya stopped at the exit, indesicive. "Rook, believe me, the kid is dead and no one else is in that appartment. But somewhere in this damn building is a killer, and he's out to get us. If you want to get yourself killed, goin' back in is a sure way." She looked around, biting on her lower lip. With a sigh, she let him go. "I'll back you up if that's what you need, but if we die, I told you so in advance." She took a step back, out of the building, and yelped in surprise as she is heaved bodily over the steps. She landed solidly on the concrete below and passed out. Krieger looked over his shoulder with an expression of mild disapointment, but shook his head. "Missss me?" he hissed. He was in his full serpent form, but his left arm was missing, along with a good chunk of his shoulder. "Thankss to you guysss, the chick that hired me to kill your friend got a little trigger happy at me for having sssome moralss. Ssserves me right." He shook his head in disgust, then amusement as he examined Rook and the girl in the apartment. He had several new scars on his face and torso from his extensive torture at the hands of the organization that hired him. "Sssurprised? Me too!" With a maniacal laugh, he sprang.

His leap was met with Rook sidestepping, lashing out swiftly and grabbing him by his remaining arm and mauled shoulder, slamming him into the floor. There was a loud clicking sound of a shotgun's pump as Lou reminded everyone of his presence. "Friend?" "Does it look like it?!" Rook shouted back, a blade sliding out of his arm to Krieger's throat. ((I was wondering what happened to this c**k...))

(LAWL...Krieger's not really a c**k, but he does act like it sometimes.)
In an almost inaudible whisper, Kriger said "Psst. Car, red, across the street. Watching usss." He snaked (pun, get it? sorry.. sweatdrop ) his arm around Rook's throat and led him into the empty room, knowing the rest would follow. "Sssorry 'bout the ssscare. I had to make it look convinsssing." He quickly changed back to human form, smoothing his hair back. "You wouldn't believe the size of the s**t storm you guys brought down on yourselves. The fact that I'm even alive is a testament to how much your enemies want you out of the picture. And I gotta say, If you guys didn't have such a good health plan with your little group, I'da killed you all in that hallway 'cause of how scared shitless I am of my employers....Well, former employers."
Maya careened around the corner of the apartment and slams into Krieger, full force, and begins to beat his face into ground turkey. If it wasn't for his extrordanary arm length, she would have some serious damage.
"Calm down! Calm down! I'm on your side!" he whispered angrily.

"Lou, keep the gun on him. He does anything off, glick him."
Lou nodded slowly, keeping the gun trained on Krieger.
"Alright. We know there's a group after called the Keepers of the Quiet. They are a powerful and multi-national organization that exists and operates outside of any form of government. They hunt down, capture, or kill people with powers. Which would be almost all of us here right now. If your power is too much, they kill you. Otherwise, they integrate you into the fold and you work for them. I am a former Keeper. As such, they want me dead something fierce, because you don't get to leave the Keepers.
"They're on St. Eva after people like you and I, and we mean to stop them. Now, as much as I'd love to say you have a choice... You either have to hide, fight, or die." Rook ran a hand through his dreads with a sigh, "Now, is there any other complications we should be aware of."

"Pah! I've dealt with the Keepers. Keepers are puppeteers, back-ground workers. The guys that hired me aren't afraid to, say.....blow up a house to kill someone. They have enough connections to keep themselves out of trouble, but not enough to be considered a threat to the BIG guys. Which is why they're such a threat to the big guys. No enemy is as dangerous as the one you overlook. Now, If you'll do me a favor, can I borrow a knife? I've got a tracking chip implanted in my arm and I'd like to get it out. It itches...from the inside." Krieger rubbed his arm against his abs, trying to alleviate the inane itch. (inane is a word)

"I am not sure, at all." Rook cast Lou a quick look, motioning for him to check the apartment.
Lou nodded, which set Rook back to glaring at Krieger. Lou fumbled with his gun for a moment, after which it was emitting a small cone of light. After that, he went to examine the rest of the apartment.

After curling up against one of the far, dingy walls of the hallway during the fight, Olivia slowly slid to her feet, still placing her back flat against the wall, "OK...OK...I got this..." she slid forward, calling back to Lou, "Hey, hook me up Lou buddy, find something I can hit s**t with," she gave a thumbs up as he ventured into the apartment.
Her eyes went to Kreiger as well, motioning down to her feet and mouthing, "Death Boots" and menacingly as she could.
