Everyone got cleaned up and return.
"What's going on, then?" Agent M asked impatiently.

Johann nodded. "The higher-ups have ordered that I request the Eves' accompaniment as I lead the way to the GenPharm base of operations. The scientists there would like a full report on the Hosts' performance in the fight and any observations on the matter."
He looked at M, A, and Harry. "I am, ahh, also obligated to tell you gentlemen that your presence is requested at HQ. Apparently, they were somewhat disappointed at your performance," he said apologetically.
He swept his warm gaze over the others. "As for you folks, I do believe a solid night's rest is in order. Meet back here at 0800."
With that, he strode off.
---
The next morning rolled around, and the Eves met up with Johann. He nodded and said, "Let's go then."
He led them to a large hangar, where a single, unremarkable van was waiting for them.

Xu arrived, wearing a beige coat with a fur trimmed hood, and gray dress pants. His iconic light-yellow messenger bag was neatly slung over one shoulder and under the opposite arm.
Xu followed the man into the hangar. The mediocre van caused a slight smile to form on his face. The van was a sickly white color, looking like one used by criminals when the capture high-ranking politicians.
Xu had expected something more...extravagant. Perhaps a private jet, a limo or something in that line. The government must have their reasons; Don't want to capture too much attention, or something like that. Of course, they existence of Hosts, Eves, and Adams were suppose to be for top government eyes only. If the general populace knew about this, the whole country would go in an uproar.
Shaking his head, he dismissed the thought. Turning his head to Johann, Xu asked "Are we going to be riding in that?" He motioned towards the van.
Just in case, they have something more...accommodating.

"Yes, indeed," Johann said, bowing his head slightly at it. "That van is, in actuality, one of the most famous vehicles in our history. It has been used in more covert operations than any single vehicle in the world, and each mission it has been on is one of earth-shaking importance."
He climbed into the driver's seat.

Host-Agent A sighed as he heard Johann tell him that he was requested back at HQ. I'm still for the opinion of getting them back in the program. That one boy was able to do it, why can't the others? Still, an order was an order. "I bid you all farewell and good luck." He nodded and wore a slight smile.
Adela wore a bright grin and responded, "Hope everything goes okay for you guys." Her grin faltered at the thought of waking up early again, but hey, if it was for the good of the country...Why can't we just have afternoon world take overs?
Adela was quiet the next morning. I did not get my coffee. I did not get enough sleep. She was rather tired and cranky. Then again, she was that way most mornings. Eh. I'll wake up sooner or later. She climbed into the back of the van without a word except to mumble about having a window seat. Never mind that there were no windows, but it seemed she just wanted to sit beside a wall of the van. Walls make good beds.

Johann - ever chipper, even so early in the morning; indeed, he was exactly as cheerful as he was the previous day - looked back to see the groggy Adela. With a soft chuckle, he passed her his jacket, bundled up to make a good pillow.
Schraeder, climbing into the van at that moment, narrowed his eyes almost imperceptibly at this, before sliding into the seat next to Adela. He smiled warmly at her as he settled into his seat.

After Johann, Adela and Schraeder climbed into the decrypted Van, Xu did so also, although reluctantly. he walked to the other side of the Van and stepped onto the front passenger seat. He wanted to sit as front as possible, Xu had a tendency to get motion sickness on long rides.
Thinking about this, Xu turned his head towards Johann, whom he presumed was the driver. "So... How long will it take for us to get there?" He asked while he tried to make himself comfortable on the hard seat.

Fin hopped in the back of the van, obviously awake and ready to get going.

Adela took the jacket-turned-pillow with a sleepy smile and mumbled her thanks. She put it to the side of the van and laid her head on it so that the jacket was in the crook of her neck. See, now this feels better. When Schraeder sat down beside her, she opened her eyes and smiled. "Buenos dias, Schraeder." She was half awake at the moment. Hopefully she'd get a bit more time to sleep in while they drove off to God-knows-where.

Schraeder smiled slightly at Adela. "Guten morgen," he replied before rubbing her shoulder and leaning back into his seat.
"How long is the ride?" he asked Johann, who looked at the clock on the dash.
"We should be there within two hours, provided there's no major traffic. Anyone have a preference on a radio station?" he asked as he started the van and pulled out, everyone having piled in.

"So they're gone?" Lizzie asked Lionel.
"Yes," he replied calmly. "They've departed."
"Does everything have to go wrong?" Kevin snapped. "This guy -"
"This guy is a hitch in our plans, and it means we can't overwhelm with numbers," Lionel hissed. "We need him out of the way. At whatever cost."
"The Thief might make a good distraction," Lizzie suggested.
"Perhaps, but really, if he confronts us, what are our odds of success?" Tanya asked.
"None," Lionel replied promptly. "Absolutely none. If he makes his move, we're done. That's that. We've got to got to got to delay that until these new ones get powerful enough."
"That could take months."
"So be it."

Two hours...I can handle that...I hope... However, upon another look at the interior of the old van, Xu began to doubt. As long as this van drives smoothly... Which it most likely won't. Shaking his head, Xu attempted to rid himself of these thoughts.
He twisted himself, so that the seat wasn't digging into his back and tried to make himself comfortable. Turning his head around he asked "Is everyone in and" -a slight pause- "Comfortable?" Xu said the last word as if such a thing wasn't possible.

Indeed, comfortable they were. Despite its outward appearance, the van was smooth, quiet, and spacious. They found the ride to be quite pleasant.
They got to know each other as they drove. Schraeder flirted (almost successfully) with Adela, Xu introduced himself more fully, and the team got to know Johann, their liaison to the Host-Agents.
All in all, the time went quickly. They were about 30 miles from the base when Johann declared, "We'll stop for a short break before we hit the road again. Five minutes, everyone, and we leave again. We should be there in ten minutes of driving."

Adela had enjoyed using Johann's jacket as a pillow. She managed to get a little bit of extra sleep so that when Schraeder was being nice to her, she could respond in a polite tone. She was starting to think that the man was flirting with her, but really, that was probably not true. Wasn't this the same man who said he wasn't very good with people? So why try anything with her? He was probably just being cordial; something that Adela had enjoyed.
The fact that he was honestly flirting completely flew over her head.
Once they stopped for a break, Adela got out to stretch her legs. And arms. And back. She decided that she might as well take advantage of the time and do her daily stretches. After doing her necessary stretches, she looked around to see the scenery. Nothing really seemed to stand out to her. "So once we get there, what is it we plan on doing?"

Johann stood next to her and observed the scenery with a fond look. Schraeder came and stood by as well, stretching his own legs.
"Well," Johann said, "we're going to the lab where most of the Hosts had their main modifications done. The scientists there want a report on their performance out in the field, and since your team saw it firsthand, you're the most qualified to report."
Schraeder nodded. It made sense. "I see. Why do they want to know, though, if they cast the Hosts out as failures?"
Johann smiled slightly and replied, "Even if they're failures, it's possible for us to learn from what they accomplish. While they might not be any use to us, we can see what works and doesn't work with them. See?"
Schraeder nodded slowly. Something about that didn't seem right to him, and he was the pragmatic one of the team. Still, it was probably better to think about it later.
