Lee smiled initially, hearing he was still planning on going, but that faded almost instantly. "W-what if you broke something?" It didn't help that her concern made her want to hug him, but she wasn't about to risk that. In fact, she'd have to settle with just holding his hand for a while, it would seem. She didn't care about his stinky shirt, and barely nodded before grabbing his hand and tugging his arm lightly, so as not to hurt him. "C'mon, let's go." How could she stand around chatting when she was worrying to death about him?

"Donnae feel like anythin' broken. Nae worries t' tha'," Rory said, letting Lee pull him along. "You ain't really gonna be alright wi' me job, is you?"

Lee stopped and looked back at him, pausing for a moment before looking down. She didn't let go of his hand, and pushed her hair out of her face and behind her ear before answering. "I'm... not gonna ask you to stop doing what you like. If this is what you really enjoy doing, then go ahead..." She didn't want him to get hurt, but she didn't have any say in what he did for work. Nor did she have the right to tell him to find another job, and she wouldn't, she didn't want to.

"I'll be alright, Lee. Been doin' it a long time. I'll be more care now tha' I got someone t' come home t' at night," Rory said, stroking her cheek. "Let's gae find th' doc an' get me patched up an' then w' can gae do somethin' more fun, yeah?"

Lee couldn't help but smile, though her eyes were still glued to her feet. "Good." That's all she needed to hear. "Hope you dun mind if I don't come watch you work anymore, though." As much as she liked the horses -- and, of course, Rory wearing his work clothes -- it was too hard to witness what she had today. She gave him an amused smile before clinging to his arm and beginning to walk again. "Fun? Like what?"

"Ah, lass, breakin' horses is not me job. It's just somethin' they hae me do when it needs t' be done. I'm a horse trainer. That's me job," Rory sighed, rubbing his face a bit. He tugged on her hand, leading her back to a smaller corral behind the stables where a group of horses were milling about. He whistled loudly and they came over. Releasing Lee's hand he walked to the fence to pet their noses. "Hey tha', lads."
Giving another sharp whistle, Rory gestured with his hand and the horses lined up perfectly like soldiers awaiting inspection. Another sharp whistle and hand gesture and every horse bowed simultaneously. Rory looked at Lee. "See? This is what me job is." He did another gesture and all the horses stood up. "If I hae t' break in another horse, I'll tell you an' you can gae be wi' Elle or Fao then, aye?"
He walked back to her, putting his arms around her. "As fae fun . . . well, lass, what d'you think might be fun?"

Looking up at him timidly, she got the feeling she'd annoyed him when she heard his sigh. Following Rory to the corral, Lee watched the horses in slight awe, a smile creeping on her face as they bowed. "I can see why you like your job so much..." She looked down at her hands, feeling foolish for having assumed it was anything more dangerous. Nodding at his suggestion, Lee bit her lip before looking back up at him. "I'm sorry... for worrying too much."
Lee's smile returned to her when Rory came closer. Looking down at his chest, she tilted her head before answering, "We should prolly see what sorta things you can handle first, eh?" She hadn't been thinking anything physical, but it likely came out that way.

"You wouldnae be me girl if'n you didnae worry, lass," Rory chuckled, walking back with her through the stables to the main fairgrounds again. "The doc's a ways over in tha' direction." Rory pointed off and looked down at Lee. "Prolly can do most things if I donnae o'erdo it."

Lee grinned to herself, more than happy to hear he didn't mind. "I just dun wanna break you." She giggled lightly, teasing with him a bit. "Guess we should just see what the doctor says, though..." Just because he felt he was fine didn't mean he was. She wasn't going to have him carry her on his back or anything, but she still wanted to be careful. Truth was, though, that she wasn't even sure what they could do for fun aside from what they had already today.

"Break me all you want, girl. I ain't gonna complain," Rory laughed, leading her to the doctor's tent. Arriving there, he held the flap open and ushered her in, then went to the back area to talk with the doctor. The wait for Lee was much shorter this time and only twenty minutes later, Rory came back out with his ribs taped up. "Doc says I'm fine fae the most part, but he wanted t' tape me up anyway. Just bruised, though. Nae broken bones." The boy grinned. "Says I should be alright fae most physical activity, so long as you donnae hae acrobatics or anythin' involvin' a trapeze in mind."

Nearly the entire wait, Lee was fidgeting with just about everything, her shirt, her bear, her hair, anxious to see if Rory really was just fine. As he stepped back out Lee stood, blinking as she saw his tapped up ribs. Smiling with relief to hear he was alright, she looked up at him curiously before asking, "Your breathing's better, right?" She just wanted to make sure...

"Yeah, a little," Rory said. "Might be a day before th' ache goes away, but it ain't anythin' I ain't been through afore." He put an arm around Lee and kissed the top of her head. "Let's gae home so I can get a shirt."

Making a small face -- sort of an "aw, dang..." expression -- when she heard his breathing was only slightly better, she decided not to worry about it as much as her mind was telling her to. Lee held his hand as they walked. "I feel gross... I haven't bathed yet today..." In case she happened to stink, she wanted him to know she wasn't just a constantly smelly person.

"You can bathe at me place," Rory suggested. "I'll get a shirt an' sit a spell outside while you wash up. You can borrow some o' me clothes if you want."

Lee gave him an unsure smile. "You sure? Dun wanna have to kick you out of your own home..." As for wearing some of his clothes, the ones she had on now weren't too dirty, but that didn't mean she'd keep herself from wearing one of Rory's shirts, even if she'd be swimming in it.
