Maria brought herself to her knee and stood, wiping away some blood from her lip with her sleeve. She narrowed her eyes at Mason.

"You're a nasty one, you are! Kickin' a lady in the face when she's not lookin'! You're an undignified one, you are!" as she spoke, she adjusted her hat. In doing so, the rose from earlier fell to the ground. Martin was beside her, already standing despite the two-story fall.

Outside of the Manor was a very bright, very lush environment. The immediate grounds surrounding the manor consisted of a cobblestone path, apparently surrounding the manor. The grass, as it could be called, was a very bright, almost fake green, and very tall, rivaling the large, red, white-spotted mushrooms that crowded every corner and popped up occasionally in the middle of the grass. The mushrooms and grass are roughly five feet tall, the grass tapering down to a more sensible height the closer to the path it was.

The iron fence could barely be seen beyond the grass.

Henry, utterly confused at how the Doctor, with literally no fighting experience at all in his profile, already expected the counter - TK was peak, here.

He skipped back, whipping a foot up in a fade-kick at Arthur's jaw.

---

"I do say," Martin said, slightly more sober than he was before. He looked at Mason in a new light - not yet as a threat, but more as an interesting diversion. "Good sir, that was quite the assault. Were it not for your lack of skill and my own proficiency, I might have been slightly mussed." As it was, he brushed some grass off of his cuff and adjusted his hat slightly.

With a twirl of his umbrella, Martin suddenly snapped into an absurd stance, right leg sliding forward as he brought his left arm back, balancing the tip of the umbrella on his extended thumb of his right hand. Before anyone moved, the tip exploded into violet light, blasting Mason fully in the chest with what could only be described as a laser.

The percussive force, enough to shatter easily a reinforced stone wall, threw Mason back. Martin, much faster and more mobile, darted forward. By the time Mason hit the ground, Martin had halved their distance as he leaped into the air, continuing to close distance over a raised trajectory. The umbrella raised; the tip glowed; the laser slammed Mason into the ground; Martin flipped neatly and landed on the other side. The tip of the umbrella gleamed in the light as he turned.

"You, dear sir, are no match for me alone. And, currently, that's the only option you have." Indeed, Shepard had dropped down as well and was engaged in melee combat with Maria. Munk and Carpenter could be heard fighting around the corner of the Manor.

"Withdraw," Martin said with icy calm and a glare that would stop rivers. "Now." Mason found himself looking up into the tip of the umbrella, mere feet from his face.

Mason smirked as he the ground itself pushed him to his feet. He'd caught the majority of the second blast on his golem arm, and it had taken it with little difficulty. "Make me... boy." He pulled the mallet from his belt again, edging towards the wall of the mansion. A small piece of the masonry emerged from the wall and deposited itself in the path of the already swinging mallet - it seemed Mason could send his commands to the very stone through any uninterrupted rock "path." The mallet was already swinging a second time as the now-spike of stone shed the green energies of Mason's power, the tiniest adjustment able to send it wherever Martin dodged. He was firing these shots with his right hand, the golem arm raised to block any further umbrella-based attacks.

Andreas backed away from the fight between Henry and Arthur - the doctor was outmatched, but he shouldn't have involved himself at all, and while he didn't want to strike at the doctor he also could not afford to show his cards to the MADmen - or to Henry, who was clearly in their pocket. Hell, he didn't even want to hurt Henry, which was probably why Henry's TK wasn't picking him up as a threat.

"Andreas, help me with this b*****d," Henry said, quite unfortunately.

Martin didn't bother to dodge. The umbrella's tip darted forward faster than Mason could follow and destroyed the attack.

Maria and Shepard continued their fight, Shepard doing most of the attacking with Maria dancing about, evading the attacks and avoiding eye-contact. The rose on the ground was steadily growing larger.

Martin's clock was nearing midnight, the Workmen had about three minutes.

Shepard wasn't stupid, and certainly not during a fight. He abruptly broke off attacking Maria so that he could dart to the rose and tear it up and destroy it before it got too big. If Maria tried to stop him, then he would be able to force her to make eye contact, at least for a second - and that would be enough for him to turn this to his favor.

Maria giggled loudly, "Oh, don't be silly!" she said, "You're not near strong enough to destroy it now, you aren't! And you certainly haven't a clue how to stop it!"
With Shepard heading for the rose, Maria began spinning in place, humming to herself. The rose now was the size of a large watermelon and had closed up into a bud and the sepals were spread apart.

As Shepard moved to destroy the flower, a thorny casing erupted from underground and enveloped the continuously-growing rose.

The grass near the fence began to rustle and soon after Munkwon flew out from the tall grass and through the hole in the wall. He skidded between Henry and Arthur and stood, brushing himself off.

"Are you mad?!" he growled at Henry, "You don't attack someone you want to help you unless you really don't want them to help! Stop attacking this man immediately! We want his help and here you are further persuading him against it!"

He pushed Henry aside and assisted Arthur up, "I'm so sorry about this, boy, he jumped the gun a bit. Probably assumed we would kidnap you and force you to help us. But we're not that way, we want you to want to help us and that time will hopefully come soon enough. Now-"

Before he could say any more, Carpenter had jumped on the ledge of the hole and tackled Munkwon across the room. As they were in the air, Munkwon managed to plant his feet into Carpenter's chest and flipped Carpenter over and behind him, reversing their positions and Munkwon now smashed Carpenter into the opposite wall and landed heavily.

Carpenter cracked his neck and stepped from the indent he had created with impact.

Shepard backpedaled without missing a beat, throwing a lightning-fast roundhouse at Maria's face.

Martin played with Mason using his umbrella. It was close, but Martin outclassed Mason by a small but noticeable margin. Additionally, his watch was almost all the way to midnight.

Henry growled. "He's right. As much as I want to beat you down, we'd like you to..." he swallowed, "help us someday." With a quiver of anger, Henry stalked off.

Mason continued to feign a lower level of skill than he had; he couldn't match Martin for speed, especially not with the golem arm weighing him down, but he had a nearly invincible defense, with even the ground beneath them on his side, dutifully reporting Martin's movements.

Deciding to push a little, since defending wasn't gaining him much, Mason flicked another spike at Martin and rushed in behind it, leading with the golem arm. A pulse from his foot went into the earth they stood on as he advanced.

Martin spun quickly. His umbrella knocked the spike out of the air; he continued spinning, stepping to one side such that Mason's punch went past him. One more spin, and the umbrella whipped around and rapped the large Workman on the back of his head as Martin slid easily away.

"You'll have to play seriously, I'm afraid," Martin sniffed. "If not, then I'll just have to end you now. Go ahead; I can handle it." His umbrella inscribed an infinity pattern in the air as he waited.

As Martin brought his umbrella in, the ground beneath him buckled, the pulse he sent carrying out its orders. Mason grabbed the umbrella with the golem arm and yanked. Martin, to his credit, did not let go or dislocate his shoulder as he was pulled, giving Mason a chance to "donate" his smaller arm (which, to be fair, was actually huge as well, but huge muscles had a tendency to look weak compared to the golem arm) to Martin's nose, snapping Martin's head back as his body kept moving while his head did not.

Martin's watch was getting ever closer to twelve. Less than a minute remained.

Shepard's kick connected with Maria's face as she danced around, sending her spinning to the ground with a surprised gasp followed by a grunt as she connected with the ground. She sat there, rubbing her cheek.

"Have you no dignity? Hitting a lady when she's having a good time like that! You should be ashamed, you should!" she stood, now rubbing her rear with both of her hands, "You're lucky the MADHATTER'll be here soon, you are, otherwise I'd hafta teach ya a lesson, I would!"
She moved to gather up her ever-growing rose, wary of any other attacks from Shepard.

Martin, after having received a nasty punch to the face, managed to force his umbrella open. The umbrella opened with surprising force and cause Mason to unexpectedly release it. He rubbed his nose with his free hand as he glared. He glanced at his watch.

Twenty seconds.

"You're time is nearly up." Martin announced with a sly grin, "The MADHATTER will be here in less than fifteen seconds."

Inside, Munkwon and Carpenter exchanged blows, Carpenter noticeably faster while Munkwon noticeably more powerful. Carpenter fought with impressive speed, stringing together rapid punches and the occasional kick aimed for a vulnerable point or pressure point, designed to more stun than damage, giving him an opening for a heavier, more solid strike or a tackle while staying light on his feet and moving rapidly while evading or countering incoming attacks.

Munkwon fought in a slightly slower, more solid manner and fought in more of a street style, though some of his moves mimicked that of a MCMAP practitioner. He would deliver heavy blows while simultaneously countering or blocking his opponent's. He tended to use punches and low kicks with the occasional grapple, joint lock or manipulation, or pressure point, using any means to disable his opponent while holding his ground or pushing forward.

This continued for a few seconds as Munkwon pushed Carpenter closer and closer to the wall. Roughly six feet from the wall, Carpenter struck Munkwon in the nose with a quick jab, causing him to recoil slightly. Having every interest of taking advantage of this slight opening, Carpenter was quite suddenly behind him, taking a wide stance and twisting back to deliver a heavy strike.

In the blink of an eye, Carpenter delivered the blow, unwinding and putting his entire body movement into the punch. A loud, echoing CRACK erupted from the two as his punch connected, sending Munkwon flying forward into and through the wall, filling the room with dust and creating yet another hole as he fell into the long grass outside.

The dust quickly cleared and revealed Carpenter standing on the edge of the destroyed wall, short his right hand and part of his forearm. Apparently he had lost his hand during the powerful blow and his radius and ulna appeared to have been shattered, as his forearm was disfigured. His humerus had been dislocated, broken, and pushed back and out from just below his right shoulder.

In other words, it appeared he had traded his arm for a destructive blow.

"Time's up!" Martin announced, demonstrating such by revealing his pocket watch as it struck twelve.

A strange, unnerving silence fell over the entire manor and a strange sense of mental unsoundness overcame those within the immediate vicinity.

Carpenter, Mason, and Shepard all swore under their breaths, they knew what this meant.

"We have to leave, now!" Carpenter pointed out, "We don't stand a chance against them in this state. Mason, meet up with Smith, Shepard come with me."

As Carpenter spoke, the area just to the left of Martin began to distort and ripple.

Shepard, already almost totally disengaged from Maria, immediately made his way to Carpenter's side.

"You used that, huh?" he asked, throwing an unsettled look at the stump of Carpenter's arm. "Must have been serious. Let's get you out of here; this guy is messing up my head."

He grabbed Carpenter and led him away, disappearing around the corner of the manor.

Martin, on the other hand, wasn't letting Mason leave so easily. Much faster than Mason, the purple MADman was keeping the huge man hemmed in as the MADHATTER continued to emerge.

"What's wrong?" he asked Mason tauntingly. "You can't keep going? I'm not letting you leave so easily, sir." He fired a laser, blasting Mason to the ground. Keeping his umbrella leveled at Mason's head, he said, "Good show, I think. But this is it for you."
PostPosted: Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:04 pm

Mason rose up suddenly, shoving off his golem arm, his whole body rising with immeasurable force, and delivering a two-legged kick past the umbrella (deflected with the other hand) to Martin's chest; Martin was unable to hold his ground against the rising force of the kick. Mason returned to his feet. "Well, it's been fun, but I really must be going," Mason replied, tapping his foot to send a shockwave through the ground and cause a rolling motion in the ground behind him as he disengaged, covering himself against Martin's lasers with his golem arm.

After recovering from the blow and the sudden shift in the ground he was standing on, Martin brushed himself off and dismissed Mason with a shrug. He turned to address the MADHATTER upon his arrival.

In a sudden flash of light and wind, a tall figure stood in the midst of the MADmen. As the dust cleared, the MADHATTER was revealed, towering above those around him.

He was extremely tall, standing at almost seven feet tall with a thin, almost delicate frame, though the presence he gave off and the posture he stood with suggested otherwise. His skin was extremely pale, but his cheeks held a flush of red and his brightly-colored features offset his nearly colorless skin. His curly, bright red hair hung off to the sides of his face and spilled over his ears, but ventured no further down his face than the top of his equally-red, thin eyebrows. He had absolutely no facial hair apart from his eyebrows.

His eyes were interesting, not only because of their brightness and color, but because each eye was a different color, the right eye being purple and the left eye a golden yellow. He had very thin lips which were almost always smiling and slightly apart, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth.

On his torso, he wore a blue admiral jacket with silver buttons and silver lining. Over his jacket he wore a brightly-colored cape that looked to be either made of or modeled after peacock feathers. His slacks were a bright red, matching his hair, and his simplistic shoes were pink with no laces. He wore a red, yellow-spotted bow tie over a black necktie and white gloves on his hands.

In his right hand he carried a black cane with a golden, spherical handle whereas in his left hand he carried a teacup supposedly filled with tea.

Upon his head was a stout, black top hat with a white band running around it which resembled many pointed teeth in its appearance. Off to the right and just above the band was a small and shiny red orb, almost giving the idea of an eye to the teeth.

Apart from his impressive stature, he appears quite young.

He took a sip from his teacup before turning to Martin, awaiting an explanation for his appearance.
