Tears formed in the corners of Nils' eyes. Yes... he remembered now, all of it. It was pushed to the back of his mind for the longest of times, finally resurfacing as FD spoke. Memories from not only the first Scouring, but from the war that would be known as the second Scouring as well. He had taken part in both.

His eyes closed as his companion continued to talk, bringing up the part where he was directly involved. That day... That day, his sister, Ninian, was brought back from the dead by Bramimond. That day, Elibe was saved. And he helped save it. With his music, he helped saved Elibe from being burnt to a crisp.

But... With his music, he helped the band of people send FD, the one who was easily his closest companion in this new world, back through the Dragon's Gate.
And later that same day, he ventured through the Gate alone to seal it off from the other end. He left Ninian behind with Lord Eliwood, wishing her a life of happiness and reassuring her that their sibling bond would never be broken, even if he never saw her again.

A tear rolled down his cheek and he raised his hand to wipe it away immediately. He didn't want to cry, darn it! He wanted to be happy! His eyes reopened and he stared at FD, a small smile on his face.

Amara gasped, tugging on Alihi's cloak. "I wanna try, I wanna try!!"

"Okay, okay!" The tactician said with a laugh, handing the vendor the gold. With the way she was spending, she'd be out of gold before the festival was even over!

Seeing her daughter stare at the goldfish in the tank with a look of pure determination, knowing that the little girl was having a blast? Worth every single gold piece she had. Her arms crossed across her chest and she grinned. ... I don't want this peace and joy to end.

"Oh dear....." Isadora gasped lightly as she saw Ed ran to her acquainted friend. Ed was right about Ganon. He was tall. However, it seemed that Ed had forgotten to inform the paladin that Ganon was a large lizard.

Although she had met other laguz and dragons, whether they were beast or bird, never had she met one who was from a different race. Then again, some of the people came from different worlds.

Not wanting to be rude, Isadora walked up to Ganon and addressed herself. "Hello, Mister Ganon. My name is Isadora the Dame Knight. I've heard quite well about you from Ed."

Aidan took Blossom's hand, a light, peaceful smile on his face.

"That was beautiful. I don't know if I would've been able to do that," he said, laughing nervously. Half to calm himself, he kissed her. "Here's to a better future. Right?"

He knelt down next to the little girl and watched her chase after a goldfish with her finger before attempting to catch it, only to miss and have her paper catcher break. He laughed at the face she made as she stared at the object.

"Give her another try" Ephraim asked, looking up at the vendor.

"It'll cost ya"

"Here" he tossed the amount at the man and he handed the little girl another clean catch. "Lets try it again shall we, Amara?" Moving himself behind the girl as he took her hand that held the net and hovered over a fairly large goldfish that had a blend of white on its tail. "Just gotta wait for it...lure it over here...aaandd.."

One flick and the fish was in the bowl. He backed up "See? Not so hard"

Arashe Nyilas

Arashe smirked, taking a slight step back from the advancing Leon. As the Axe Knight got closer and closer, his blade a distance ahead, Arashe went into action. Quickly turning around to the other side of the pillar, Arashe glared at the oncoming man, and shook his head, as if it was already won.

"Heh, careless oaf..." Arashe propped himself up against the pillar, pulling a foot behind him, along the column's edge. As Leon came within melee range, Arashe gave the ground a hard kick, sending sand into a cloud around his location. If it didn't shroud him, which it really wouldn't, it would at least stop the brute's advance, something that Arashe would have liked.

The moment sand went into the air, Arashe rolled back to the other side of the pillar, and put away his bow. With a small smile on his face, he pulled out his Stiletto, waiting for his opponent to make some kind of movement.

After FD finished, he looked back up at a smiling Nils. He worked his way to the back of the audience where they were seated, back to be by Nils' side. His emotions were in a knot - he never grew tired of how frequently dragons had gotten the short end of the stick throughout history as he knew it, and yet he had no reason to be upset about it. He was happy here. He was happy with Nils. He took his seat and smiled at the bard. Nils looked emotional too, to FD. While he knew Nils tended to grow shy in public when in his company, FD couldn't resist. "Kaoru... I love you more than anything in any world." he told his companion. Before he could get a response, FD went in to lock lips. He left them there and held the back of Nils' head with his hand for some time before letting up. "Sorry..."

Blossom listened in silence to FD's story. She had never realized just how much the war affected the dragons, too. She pursed her lips, considering going up there to speak to him, but Nils was right there, and she didn't want to intrude... not to mention how Ganon's attention had been taken by Ed's arrival, and Blossom didn't want to snatch anyone's spotlight, so she turned back to Aidan, who had caught up to her while she was lost in thought.

Blossom smiled warmly to Aidan, holding onto both of his hands. "I'm not sure how I managed it, actually," she told him with a laugh. She leaned into the kiss, then hugged him tightly, taking in the smell of his shirt. "Right."

Annis listened thoughtfully, silently, to all the stories. A hgi-val that lost his eye in a hunting accident, a girl who nearly lost her clan and gained redemption, a girl that lost one family and gained another, and then a dragon torn from what he had and given something new... Annis rubbed the toes of her boots together. The bard had gotten distracted now with a friend, and even then, she didn't feel like divulging her life's story. Her fingers dappled over the hilt of the dagger on her left thigh, and then she stood, wrapping her wings loosely around her for a brief moment.

"Enough time here," she murmured. "but time well spent." Annis glanced at the stage, then walked away, her stride noiseless on the cobblestones. Perhaps that arena fight was still going on? She paused, then shrugged before lifting into the air. Faster this way.

Annis flew silently towards the arena, eventually landing on the stone wall lining the path, perched in a very bird-like way as she watched a blonde man with a dagger fighting against a brunette one with a long axe. She studied the two, then decided to root for the dagger-wielder.

So she was a little biased, did that really matter?

Above the heads of the citizens and visitors of Eyris, an invisible spirit watched, quite amusedly. In truth, she was nervous about leaving her manor after so long, but it had been a long time since she had seen a festival of this size, and the curiosity got the better of her. All the buildings, the many people, the laughter, the fun, it was so much for her to take in. She knew that she couldn't reveal herself, but just watching was fun to her. Human interaction always amused her.

She flew through the sky, watching intently on the various games, giggling and having the time of her life. She truly was a child at heart. She was so busy having fun, she didn't realize that a... familiar person was entering into her manor.

But then, after just a little while, she sensed something very bad. It hit her so hard, that she let out a short yelp, accidentally into a man's ear. She flew back up into the sky, immediately. Thankfully, she was still invisible. In a perplexed state, she spoke aloud to herself, though nobody could hear her.

"...Eeeh? W-what's happening? ...No, no, no! No fighting in my house!"

She paused a moment, and then grew a tad shaky.

"..No! Don't go down there!!"

The wind picked up slightly, from he frustration. Taking immediate action, she soared back to her home, creating a gust of wind where she flew past people, hoping to arrive in time.

Amara gasped. "Whoooa!! Ephie, you're amazing!! The small child was discouraged by her first failure, but with Ephraim's guidance, she was able to get a fish. A huge goldfish, too! The vendor handed Amara the goldfish in a bag, who in turn handed it to Alihi. "Ephie! Ephie!" She clinged on to his leg. "What should I name the fishie, Ephie?!"

---

Nils looked up at his companion, smiling. "I--"

... And he was immediately cut off by a kiss. His face turned bright red as FD held him there, hand on the back of his head. His hands went to FD's shoulders, holding him close as he tentatively returned the kiss. When FD finally let up, he sat there, staring, blushing. Even after he apologized, Nils still sat there. It wasn't for a few more moments before he spoke. "... U-uhm..." He looked away for a moment, taking a deep breath, before looking back at FD. "Y-you don't have to apologize..." The bard murmured softly, embarrassed.

Amelia watched Leon and Arashe duel with curious eyes. Leon seemed to be handling himself all right, but Arashe was pretty on the ball. Clearly he knew how to handle oncoming opponents, but the biggest question was if he would be able to best the record keeper. Even if Leon was the Watch's record keeper, he could hold his own more than well enough in combat. It was just a matter of whether or not Arashe was better.

"Good luck," Amelia murmured.

She paused. Had that wind been there before? She looked up, then to the side as the wind dissipated to her right. What was up with that? She saw Fefga's manor up on the hillside in that direction, far, but still within the castle town's walls. She studied the manor as if something was going to happen, then shuddered a little and looked back to the fight.

"Don't get so paranoid," she decided under her breath, dismissing the sudden eerie feeling and relaxing once more.

Somehow, Ninian had gotten lost in the crowd, loosing sight of Amara, Alihi, and even Ephraim. Finding the crowds not to her liking, she quickly made her escape, searching for a quieter place. She was wandering through side streets when a strange noise caught her attention. Not noise--it was music.

Following her ears she found a much smaller crowd gathered around a very tall lizard-like creature. If memory served, his name was Ganon, a bard. He had stopped playing, moving away and letting others come forward to tell stories of their own. Attentive, Ninian listened as first Sue then FD told their stories, both of which she found interesting.

I feel as if I should apologize to FD, she thought after the dragon finished. I nearly . . . I nearly killed him as well that day.

She closed her eyes, remembering that day as clearly as if it was happening right then. Bramimond raising her from the dead. . . . Her powers returning. . . . Not one, but three fire children. . . . Two dragons, dead by her hand. . . . And then waking up to see Eliwood. . . .

A sudden breeze had the dancer's eyes flying open. For reasons she did not know, she had the beginnings of a headache.

Leon sneezed when the dust went flying up in the air. He knew to shield his eyes... Large used the old "dust in the eyes" technique on him all too often. The problem was, he didn't know that Arashe was actually a Ranger, able to wield knives... he still thought he was facing a Sniper, a specialist in long-ranged combat only.

Hastily, the Watch's Lieutenant scanned the arena. Not that many hiding places but the pillars. Hefting up his poleaxe in an attacking position and forgetting his anger for the moment, Leon had found his target based on the direction of the sand.

"There you are." He said simply, while swinging his poleaxe towards Arashe in a more concentrated, fluid motion.

All the while, something nagged at him. He had this weird feeling... danger was approaching and it wasn't Arashe.

Oujay continued to watch that battle as it continued to unfold. The archer had pulled off a cheap little trick by kicking sand at the opponent. "What will you do next?" was all he said as he was wondering how the knight will react to the sudden trick against him. To Oujay, The battle is surely becoming interesting, even though it was just the beginning of the fight. He looked to his left and saw some empty seats near him. "I guess I will take a seat," he said as he stopped leaning against the wall. He took the seat and leaned back, crossing his arms.

Suddenly Oujay had this weird feeling, and he looked up. "What was that?" he whispered to himself as all he saw was the blue sky and clouds floating above it. "Must be my imagination," Oujay turned his head back down and looked at the battle. He saw the knight used the direction of the sand to determine where his enemy was and swung his poleaxe. "Heh, will it hit though," he said as he thought that the archer had the upper hand at the moment.

Victoria watched the arena match continue. She had to admit that it was one of the longest bouts she ever saw take place in the colosseum. The bishop, although hating war, did enjoy watching fair-grounds fights of strength, because they were just simply too interesting! Not to mention the learning experience of repeated staff use afterwards.

Suddenly, a chill ran through her though. "What is this?" If she wasn't even scared of a gigantic man of Dan's proportions, then what was there to be a afraid of? "An... omen..."

Just like the one she felt.. the chill that froze her just before Bern's wyverns descended upon Etruria.

~~~~~~~~
"Ninian?" Sue just noticed the ice dragon, whom had arrived to hear the stories of FEF's members. "Are you all right? You seem pale." the nomad spoke with the most concern. She'd made a promise to Ninian from one friend to another that she'd keep both her and Nils safe... that she'd fight her hardest for all of Eyris. She must not only fill Rath's shoes, but also her own.
