Zara shook her head. "No...I don't think so, anyways. It's never happened before." Her voice held uncertainty, however. There had been a first time for everything before...what of this? Yet the first bronze to hatch finally Impressed, and his brother was swift to follow in bonding. Letting out a breath she hadn't know she'd been holding, she turned back to H'dra with a shaky smile. "See? They know what they're doing, even if we don't sometimes."

They knew how to act the fool in front of everyone, Fuxith commented snidely. Zara chose to ignore that little quip.

Notos was more than a bit amused, seeing the two greens poke their way around the candidates. Who would they choose..? He wondered, knowing that he wasn't their target. Nevertheless though, he quirked another eyebrow as the siblings paused ahead of them.

When one began to stand to Jiriar, Notos was struck speechless by the scene. or almost anyways, for Notos was never completely at a loss of words. Jiriar was having a 'moment', that Notos finally saw close up. Bonding with a dragon really did look like a pivotal point in your life.. a trace of wistfulness following in Noto's actions. He held back his congrats, knowing to save it for later. Later, when the pair were properly bonded, and taken care of.

The wistfulness had disappeared as fast as it came, Notos turning to the others. There was still another green on the grounds. He privately entertained hopes for Kiriwar or Jessan. It would be sad to lose them, but shards, they were pretty awesome candidates. They would get dragons, even if it took time, Notos was sure of that.

It seemed Kyllae hadn't heard Saraket's soft inquiry over the crowd, and almost immediately afterward, someone knocked into the tall blond, thoroughly distracting her. Saraket frowned in concern, but was relieved when she got back to her feet, apparently unscathed. Fiddling with the end of her sleeve, Saraket decided it would probably be best to watch the Hatching, but keep an eye on the tall girl.

No sooner had she thought this than the other large egg shook violently, and opened to reveal another Bronze. The two of them actually seemed prepared to fight for a moment, and Saraket took an involuntary step backward. Then the moment passed, and both Bronze Dragons approached their Chosen in the group of boys. Impressed successfully. Saraket let out a large 'whoo' of relief. The thought struck her that she should try to remember how the two Bronzes had looked when they postured at each other. She definitely wanted to draw that when the Hatching was over!

A long lull followed the two Impressions. Saraket found herself glancing towards Kyllae and her new companion with more and more frequency. Something was off about the older Candidate. The hatching of the two Greens distracted her again, and she watched as the one led the other over to the boys. Sibling rivalry, and sibling love both in the same night. One successfully impressed as she watched. Saraket looked towards the other, who was taking her time in finding her Chosen.

One green down. One to go. They were both pretty little things, F'sey thought as he squinted. It was good they didn't seem to require nearly as much time as those sharding bronze- Auuugh. The weyrlingmaster shook his head and tried to realign his vision, pushing deep red hair away from his eyes. Damnit. He had been in such a hurry, he hadn't even tied his hair back. That was rather foolish of him. At least the hatching was something like halfway over though.

The older greenrider visibly shuddered and he closed his eyes again, clearing his throat. He was tired. He just had to take care of all these new riders. That's all. Right. Get the dragons fed and get them all to the weyrling barracks safe and sound. Right! Giving himself a little mental talk, F'sey tried to straighten up. Now, where was that banded green? Was she still looking?

The headache informed him that she was and F'sey closed his eyes, growing increasingly dizzy. This is what he got for staying up late, was it? Apparently, late night poker with his...roommate would have to end. Swaying on his feet a little, the greenrider righted himself one last time before opening his eyes to keep watch on all the hungry weyrlings. The motherly headache quietly reminded him to make sure he did keep close watch, lest they overeat.

Somewhere, Ialluth wished Hers would stop mistaking her for his headache.

Nelioa turned to the girl and smiled. "Well then, congrats for your friend." she said, turning back to the sands she got a better look at the boy she was refferancing. She remembered seeing that boy at the Klah off, when she had made an utter fool of herself...at her own hand.

Her eyes went wide, that boy was now a bronze rider? Well, that was an interesting turn of events. Some how, she could see the weyr never being the same again. She pointed to the little green sisters as they made their way across the sands to the boys, she pointed and whispered. "that is adorable!" one leading the other. One sister had found her rider and she smiled widly. An adorable display and surely a rider to fit their sweet display.

Nandeli stood on tip toe for the briefest moment before a dizzy spell forced her to lower herself back down. Still, she had definitely made out the boy who had Impressed the shy little green. Sadly, it was not a particularly familiar face, but she would change that after the Hatching. The Nose was going to parade around the Hatching Feast and acquaint herself with every new rider that the Weyr had. That was, of course, after she tackle hugged Okassis for Impressing a bronze. She knew he had it in him! Now if only S'van had Impressed a green.... Still, they didn't need flight sex to fulfill her fantasy, though it was an added bonus. There were lots of riders who were together even though their dragons were not. It was a comforting thought.

Resisting the urge to stand on tip toe again, she settled for peering around the wall of Candidates in front of her. It looked like the other green was staying with the boys. Without thinking she crossed her fingers. Hopefully it was someone she knew!

Disappointed, but not surprised, Firyal watched as the shyer green Impressed to one of the boys. Yet another Candidate she didn't know or recognize. Admittedly, she had been doing her best to avoid all the Candidates since the last Hatching, and before that she'd never had much to do with them anyway, but it was almost embarrassing how few of the newly-Impressed she could recognize.

She looked at the assembled Candidates, hoping to catch a glimpse of any of her roommates, but she saw none of them. Not even Aderyn, whose distinctive coloration made her difficult to lose in a crowd, even if her manner seemed to lean in that direction. Her search brought her gaze to the Weyrlingmaster, F'sey. She'd met him a few times, and come away with relatively favorable impressions each time. E'rik had said the man worked his students hard, but he got results. He didn't seem to be faring too well at this Hatching, though.

She frowned and shifted, moving through the press of Candidates to get a better view of both the remaining eggs and the ailing Weyrlingmaster. She hoped he wasn't in too dire a circumstance. Any other Dragonrider could step in to do his work if necessary, but it would be better if it wasn't necessary. Her change of position brought her nearer the front of the gaggle of girls, where she could also see the unImpressed green that remained, exploring her options. Firyal wished she would explore over where she was standing.

It was a crazy as crazy could get.
Tideal stood, nervous and wary among the other candidates. Several had impressed and it was a beautiful, stomach-churningly awesome sight that spiked jealousy and longing at each. He was tall among the crowd, though many were as tall or even taller than he and, standing in a cramped puddle of nothing less than a mob his control over his temper and emotions was waning. The last hatching he left stricken and disappointed and boiling with anger the following sevenday. A lot of candidates then had left in similar straights.

He wished feverishly that this time would be different, but that relied on both fate and chance, and he was never fond of waiting on either. So he curled his fist, calmed his look, and waited with the rest of them. Despite the niceness of the day and the happy, nervous mood Tideal couldn't be any more irked as he was now.

Ok, now C’ren was nervous. After living with F’sey for a while, he had learned his… roommate’s habits. One of those included preening whenever there was even a tiny chance that he was being looked at. ‘Sey wasn’t a vain man, not really, but he liked being watched. And he had to know that C’ren might be watching… C’ren tapped his fingers on his thigh for a moment, trying not to get too concerned. It was just age and long days of working catching up to F’sey, that was all. And it had been a long day too. And then the sharding eggs had to hatch now an…

Ugh, he was just being silly. Ceylith, be a dear and ask Ialluth what’s wrong with F’sey, will you? He’s making me sharding nervous.

Ceylith perked up at C’ren’s words, eager to do anything to help. Besides, the longer he stayed focused on Ialluth’s, the less he would focus on Coriath’s. Besides, it was nice to see Hers care so much about someone else. It was… different.

Ialluth… Mine thinks something is wrong with Yours. Is he alright? she asked, concern hanging off of every syllable.

Jessmet was sweating under her robes, wishing she weren't surrounded by the press of other bodies. If only she could strip down to her shift and trews! A good number of eggs had hatched by then; it shouldn't be too much longer before she could change and get a cold drink at the Feast.

She applauded again as one of the pair of greens found their mate. The young man was vaguely familiar although Jess wasn't sure they'd ever been formally introduced. With the remaining green roaming amongst the boys she let herself relax for a moment. This one wasn't for her.

Her sister finding her rider, the milk snake green was free to meander around as she saw fit. And saw fit she did! As soon as Ianquith and her rider started to make their way off the sands, the banded green began to strut past the rest of the boys, giving them each a brief glance. She didn't take her time, not like her sister, oh no! This was a game! This was supposed to be fun! They were all friends here, weren't they? And she was such a pretty girl, it wasn't wrong of her to want a little bit of attention.

The young dragon crooned and spread her wings as far as she could, lightly brushing someone. Startled, she folded her wings back to where they belonged, looking up at the lad with a flick of her tongue. Oops! Well, she better keep moving! Tottering forward, the young green started to nose her way through the males, back tracking, going forward, circling around again. It was impossible to make heads or tails of where the hatchling was trying to go. Or was she trying to go anywhere?

Miiiiiiiine, she crooned, voicing ringing playfully.

She raised herself up in the middle of the group and glanced around! Aha! Spotting Hers, the dragon lowered herself back to the sands and darted forward, or rather, waddled forward. Darting would be a little hard for a baby to accomplish! But one way or another, she made her way to Hers and once again stood.

Kiriwar! Kiriwarmine! That was fun, wasn't it? Let's go! Your Kadiath would like to go see all the others!

At the sight of his friend Impressing to a happy, healthy green, a grin split Anont's face, and he found himself applauding as enthusiastically as he was able. There were proper rules of course, but SHELLS he couldn't have been happier for Kiriwar! That made two of his friends, now, that had taken greens! Unable to keep from laughing quietly, Anont promised himself- and Kiriwar, he supposed- that after the hatching, he was going to congratulate the other as enthusiastically as possible.

Even if he didn't Impress, this was going to be another good hatching- Kiriwar had found his Dragon! His grin fading to a soft smile, Anont turned his focus back to the sands. There were still two eggs before the queen, and even if he didn't Impress, there were more chances.

That did not, however, mean he would not hope.

Watching the green's impress made Dorinelic smile. The two seemed to be quite alike yet contrary to one another. Their brothers however, seemed to have a rivalry brewing. Each young dragon had such a unique yet fitting personality. Clapping he was still mingled with the general crowd, not yet moving to his spot in the back. After all, some eggs remained. What was the point of moving back after going forward? Might as well stay put.
In the stands he could make out the moving bodies and some seemed to be almost dancing with excitement. What Dorinelic also failed to notice was that some candidates were doing the same.
He for one would never be caught dead dancing. He couldn't dance a lick.

What?

Kiriwar felt that sudden connection, and stared intently at the little Green that had been weaving, and now stood before him. She had rushed him, startled him, and he nearly fell back, just watching her.

Oh shards.

Kiriwar! Kiriwarmine! That was fun, wasn't it? Let's go! Your Kadiath would like to go see all the others!

Oh shards, it had happened. He slowly knelt down, reaching out for the small Green, skimming his hands over her as though to make sure she was really there, and she was. He laughed and immediately gathered the dragon into an embrace and pressed kisses to her muzzle, a delighted light in his eyes. "Yes, of course... That was very fun. Let's go," he murmured, getting to his feet again and moved to join the others who had Impressed, eager to see who else would join them.

Jessmet's moment of calm was short-lived, to be replaced by yet more excitement. The striped green had gone for Kiriwar! This Hatching was treating those she knew very well indeed. She flapped her robe as subtly as she could to get a breeze and stood on tiptoe peering over the crowd.
