Just Another Day Carrying her laptop and the pile of magazines Joliette felt the call of the one food she never wanted to eat. Watching the floor as she walked she wandered into the cafeteria, her heavy feet trudging across the linoleum her claws clicking on the floor as she headed for the meat.Pyroth tried to tune out other islanders appearances these days, when you looked the way he did, staring was a waste of time. He took the time to chew his mouthful of turkey before replying (he might have been going canine, but he had manners) "Surprisingly, yes. I got a tattooing set as a gift for Christmas and I'm still pretty damn happy about it. It even came with an autoclave, those are pretty pricy." he glanced at his paw-like fingers breifly "Good that I might get a chance to do at least a tattoo top up before I end up whatever kind of monster the doctor has planned for me."
He didn't even care to notice that his stumpy tail seemed to be wagging a contented affirmation of his mood.
"You've got to wonder how long the festive spirit will last." he took another bite of his meal before adding "here's hoping for the rest of the year."The second person however she noticed enter. It was a rather scaley Joliette, whom she hadn't seen after her change either. "Hey Joliette." She said happily, not wanting to dwell on any of the new changes. She really didn't look that bad... kinda like how her scales had started to form after the first change.
"I got something from him, but it was mostly just a gift to rub in my face." Amaya took a bite from her salad, chewing it before replying as well. "But, knowing that he has cameras and microphones everywhere, I told him off." She smirked. "So yes, I'm feeling pretty good and I hope this good spirit will last at least some time before more drama happens."Joliette looked up her yellow tongue flicking out and in "Hello Amaya.." she noticed the scent of the second person and looked till she saw the other furry person "Uhm hello... " she heard the tail end of the conversation about gifts but didn't commentPyroth didn't think he had met Joilette before, but he did make note that she had hit the first stage of her transformation. Good, at least there would be no need to break any truths to her. He nodded mutely to her before resuming his part in the conversation at hand.
"Everyone got gifts then I take it?" Pyroth could only guess what sort of items the doctor could come up with to give the islanders. "An unusually kind move by the good doctor."
He thoughtfully rolled up a bit of bacon and added.
"This place has made me paranoid." he chuckled and took a bite. "no idea why, it's not like anyone is more likely to be able to creep up on me here or anything, not with these senses."
A nod. "Drama's never far away here.""I dunno about kind since what he got me is totally useless. Shoes." Amaya stated, shrugging and not willing to get into it. "Though I got an iPod too, I'm afraid it's tampered with or something so I havn't used it yet." She motioned for Joliette to join them silently.Joliette turned from her path and joined the pair, setting down her laptop and hte magazines ont eh table, the top one was the most recent of hte World Weekly News and screamed the headline World Weekly News Photographic Journalist still missing "How are you two?" she asks quietly figuring she'll get hte furry man's name eventuallyPyroth got the impression rather quickly that Amaya had gotten a distinctly more spiteful gift than he had been fortunate to receive. He politely let the subject drop, making a mental note that not everyone might have had a pleasant christmas in terms of gifts. The doctor could be spiteful if given reason, he reckoned. It wasn't worth thinking about.
He turned his attention onto Joliette and nodded. "Like I was just saying to Amaya, surprisingly good for a guy covered with fur." he did note that he hadn't introduced himself and added "I'm Pyroth, by the way.""I'm alright, you?" Amaya asked after swallowing a mouthful of food. Her eyes merely glanced at the magazines, but didn't really catch the title or headline."Eh I've been better, it's been a rotten week and it's still going" Joliette replies to Amaya then looks at Pyroth with her green eyes "I'm Joliette, nice to meet you" she says in her thick British accent, her name was very french, she holds a sharp-clawed hand out to him to shake his handPyroth nodded morosely, he was lucky to be having a decent week for a change, with others obviously not having as much fun. He took Joliette's proffered hand, giving it a friendly shake. "Nice to meet you Joliette." Pyroth's accent was just bizzare, falling somewhere between typical American and another foreign dialect, he remained easy to understand though, it wasn't too heavy an accent for that.
The smell of food was overpowering in the cafeteria, and having finished his dinner, Pyroth was somewhat bothered to find that he was beginning to feel a little ill, overdosing on food tended to do that to his oft-starved body. It was a pain, just when he had gotten a chance to chat and meet a new islander. Still, he didn't want to traumatise anyone by being sick, so he figured, he had better go have a lie down in his duplex until that horrible bloated feeling went away.
"Though I'm sorry to say that I'd best be off, I'm in the middle of a tattoo design and I was hoping to get it finished." That was a lie, he had finished the design that afternoon, but sometimes little white lies were more elegant than the truth. After all, what was he supposed to say, that he had eaten too much and made himself sick? That made him sound like a greedy pig.
"Hope your week takes a turn for the better Joliette, and that yours maintains it's positivity Amaya."
He gave the two a friendly nod before getting up from the table and heading outside. Damn, the feeling got worse as he moved.
Khan had always said it was all in his head and he should see someone about it. Pyroth had shrugged and ignored him, not eating for the rest of that week to make sure the feeling went away.
He'd probably do the same to get rid of this."Sabin picking on you again?" Amaya frowned, nibbling on some candied fruit that was speared on one of her claws. Though her gaze went to Pyroth as he stood.
"I'll see ya later, Pyroth." She gave a wave of one of her large hands as he left."Was nice to meet you, have fun" She said quietly and then looked to Amaya "No, not as far as I know.. it's more Christmas, and my christmas present, and missing my family, and then it's my birthday soon too" she replies "Oh and I think figured out what I am becoming""Oh... jeeze. Well." Amaya rubbed the back of her head with a large hand, wincing as she rubbed her spikes the wrong way. It wasn't like it hurt or anything, but it was uncomfortable. "Can't say I can relate about the family thing, but you wanna talk about it?" She asked, looking over to her."Gran and Gramps have been in Britain with Mama and Papa for about a month.. least according to these" she motions the magazines, They'll never know what happened to me, this whole time was usually spent together, First in Britain then in France every year..." She sighs pushing them off the laptop more onto the table "These were part of my christmas present from Moreau""Ah... I see." Amaya frowned, pulling the magazine's closer. She really didn't know what to say. Unlike some people here, she didn't have a family wondering where she was."Moreau got involved in the search from the mainland, the search is over..." she sighed and opened the laptop "Some christmas present... what did you get?" she asks quietly as she uses a knuckle to bring the laptop out of sleep mode"I'm sorry." Amaya said while nibbling on some more fruit. "And me? Iguana skin shoes." She rolled her eyes. "Just tried to make me mad, but I didn't let it get to me." Her shoulders gave a shrug.Joliette makes a face sticking her yellow tongue out "you'd think he could at least be nice to us since he's taking over our life." she pulls up the encyclopedia and tells it to open the last search. "There..." she turned the laptop towards her friend the screen showed info for the Varanus komodoensis"One would think that, but I guess his douchbaggery knows no bounds." Amaya frowned, leaning forward to see the laptop. With a single claw she scrolls down, skimming the information with green eyes. "... I see. That I can relate to." She sat back, the frown still there. "Are you cold-blooded yet?"Joliette shrugged "I don't know" she mused leaning on an elbow as Amaya looked at the screen. "I desire the one thing I swore I'd never again eat though""I wish we could have been switched... at least then you could eat all the greens you wanted and I could eat all the meat I wanted." Amaya scowled, pushing the laptop back to her. "They did it just to spite you, probably... Greer was a vegan too and now she has to eat meat.""I think the git did it cause I rejected his 'immunization' that plus being vegan..." she closed the top to her laptop no longer hungry "Switched places would be nice though... the meat makes me very nautious" she pulled everything into a pile again "I wouldn't mind an all greens diet... looks like the Komodo wont even eat the vegetable matter another creature has eatten when it eats it's prey""Yeah..." Amaya sighed, unable to think of anything else to say. After finishing her salad and candied fruit she stood up. "Well, I need to get out of this air conditioning... come by my duplex if you wanna talk okay?" With a forced smile she gathered up her things rather awkwardly and nodded to Joliette. After bussing her tray she was gone."Okay, have a good day Amaya" she said to the departing figure and then resigned to getting herself a salad with ham pieces and doused in ranch dressing and returning to the table to sit and eatEm's tray was, if such a word could describe a plate of food... avalanching. She practically tripped over her own boots, she was paying so little attention to her footwork. All her attention was focused on the bending and weaving of her upper body that was required to keep the mass of Caesar turkey wraps, bagels, and marzipan logs balanced on their veritable tray-tower. She finally plopped it down onto the table before Joli, ignoring one one of the bagels that rolled off the pile and down the long stretch of table. Instead, her eyes were on her new friend- she'd obviously changed. "Hello Joli," was all Em said, knowing better than to bring it up immediately. "Mind if I sit?" Joliette looked up her yellow tongue flicked out and in, she hadn't even heard her come in "Oh! Emelyn, yes feel free to" she nods
"I see you've joined the changed club," Em said, admittedly side-stepping the realm of exceeding good taste, but also realizing that pretending she didn't notice the green-tinged skin or the yellow tongue would be to "ignore the elephant in the room"- or rather, the lizard. Joliette nods "Yes, a few days ago, myself and David both actually" she replies with a nod looking now at Emelyn rather then the salad in front of her or the pile of magazines atop her laptop
"David?" A single, vertical wrinkle of thought appeared between Emelyn's dark brows. She didn't recall anyone by that name on the island. Not that it was surprising- she'd been holing herself away in that duplex for weeks. A part of her wouldn't have been surprised had Joli said the entire British army had appeared on-'set'. "Chubbs, sorry I keep forgetting more people call him by his nickname then know his true first name." she blushes slightly
"Chubbs... I heard of him. Never met him," Em said, shrugging a little sadly. "I've not gotten out much recently though. ....So...." she said, spearing at a wrap with her fork and using the weight of it to swing the utensil like a pendulum between her fingers. "...Something of the lizard family I'm assuming." She doesn't want to say and pushes the pile of magazines off the top of the laptop and opens it once more, then pulls it out of sleep mode. She pulls up the encyclopedia and tells it to open the last search. "There..." she turned the laptop towards her friend the screen showed info for the Varanus komodoensis
Em took a bite of her wrap and chewed.... slowly, deliberately, letting her thoughts mull just as leisurely. Without looking up from the screen, she nodded, and spoke to Joli without lifting her eyes. "Hm. Well, that's new." "Tell me about it... I am not thrilled about it at all" she looked down to her salad and then speared a forkful of ranch-drowned salad and munched on it
Em finally looked up, and a sigh was the first thing that managed to pass her lips. All the comforts, the sympathies and the fighting chance words that had tumbled through her mind at the silence did just that... tumbled around in her mind as what came out of her lips was a simple sigh. "Yeah. ...I don't blame you," she said, communicating much more through her eyes than with those plain words. "I doubt any of us are... look at this" she pulled a magazine to herself having near memorized the words in each of them now ...Two weeks have passed since the reported disappearance of young woman and the search has now been joined by Feral Labs whose extensive worldwide company has many outlets. Founded by the charitable Doctor Nicolas Moreau P.H.D.. Feral Labs has many resources they are donating to the Rigiel family in their time of need. Em dropped her hand to the magazine and dragged it towards her. "Oh my god!" Her eyes darted over the glossy print, and her jaw fell. "Where did you get this?" "This whole pile were in my Christmas present, they date at the same time I left Britain in search of Vasile, the last one is two days before Christmas" she opened that one to page 3 ...After an extensive search the search for missing Photographic Journalist Joliette Rigiel has been called off. It is with the combined efforts of Feral Labs and Interpol that an large area of the ocean has been combed. While authorities are no longer on the hunt for the journalist, the woman's family has informed World Weekly News that they will never give up searching for her ...Joliette's whereabouts will remain a mystery and at this time her file will be put with the Interpol's cold case files as she is not legally considered dead for a few more years and hope remains she will return. "Oh my lord..." Em covered her mouth with the tips of the fingers from one hand, and spoke between them in hushed tones. "I'm so sorry, Joli. ...I can't imagine what it would be like to read something like this. And your family. At least the others here can only imagine how their family must feel. You have to see it in black and white." "Some Christmas present huh... This is the magazine I worked for when I left Britain and wound up here... what did you get from Moreau?" she asks quietly
Em huffed an ironic laugh. "A toy plane. One of those nice remote control ones that little rich kids get on their birthdays and then trash by dive-bombing their gardeners. ...Sort of a nice way to remind the perpetual traveler that she'll never get off this island." Joliette makes a face her and sticks out her yellow forked tongue "Lovely" she grimaces trying to ignore that even doing that felt weird with her mouthful of sharp pointy teeth
Em noticed the tongue again and cocked her head, propping it up with her hand, her elbow anchored to the table. "The tongue must drive you mad." Joliette looked down at it then pulled it back in and nodded "Yes, it likes to flick out and in and get it's scents without warning to me, I haven't figured out how to control that so it doesn't have a mind of it's own... not to mention the forked end feels very weird" she sighed and put her chin on one fist elbow on table
"I'm overdue for a change," Em said, a part of her realizing that this casual, easy conversation was of the strangest subject in the world. She'd been here for months, but still, not a day went by that she didn't wonder if she was suddenly going to wake up from the surreality of it all. "...But right now, I don't have much of a problem with smell. Everything is only slightly heigthened for me right now." "Smell is heigthened through my stupid tongue, then I have scales smaller ears, big feet little fingers and stupid claws... not to mention the scales and the tail nub" she felt like grumping over them, only person besides the feral gits who knew the full extent of her changes was David
Em nodded. "Yes, I've read about the amphibious sense of smell. Among others," she thought to herself, thinking back to her days of being trapped on a boat or a plane or a sketchy depot station in some developing country with nothing more than a book. "A tail nub as well? Wow, you really have progressed rather far for your 25%. I haven't got anything beyond this downing of fur all over.. my nails are harder and longer... the nose... some of the senses..." and she flicked at a limp quill that hung by her ear, "And these. ...I can't imagine trying to sit down with a tail nub. You have my sympathies," she said, popping a pear slice into her mouth. "I'd rather fur then scales" she sighs "and yeah the tail nub is annoying, especially if you sit on it wrong... so where have you been lately, I' haven't seen you" ok that seemed a stupid question considering they were all trapped on an island
"Honestly?" ...Em was silent for a good long while, pushing things around on her plate as she stared up at Joli. Finally, she decided that there was no reason to make up a lie. "I've been hiding in my room. I've been avoiding... a lot. Mostly... certain people." "Oh... I hope I wasn't one you felt you had to hide from" Joliette said quietly looking back down to her salad
Em laughed, ironically again, and took the goggles off her head, dropping them to the table. She'd been doing it often, lately- as if to say that the strap was what was causing the immense headaches she'd been getting recently... when in reality, what was causing the pain was likely... all inside. "Oh no. In fact, the last... two times I stepped out of my room that wasn't in the middle of the night when I knew no one would be around, I talked to you. ...No... I'm avoiding Ambrose, mostly. ...And The Dude. And- Angelina." She took a swig of her drink. "Not that I've even met her," she said quietly... sadly. "Ahh, I've seen Ambrose once.. the day I changed, but I've still yet to meet Angelina... and the Dude I haven't seen in a while either" she looked sympathetic "I'm sorry you have to avoid people, there's not many of us here..."
"Ha. It's nice of you to put it that way... 'have' to avoid. I'm just isolating myself, really. ...It's one of those things where I berate myself for doing it- but then I imagine coming face to face with the 'happy couple'- and feeling like nothing." Joliette nods "I'm still sorry, I can only imagine what it must feel like... I suppose I can be lucky David didn't have a girlfriend back home..."
Em put her fork down. "You and David are...? ...Really?" Joliette blushes and nods "Yes, we are 'going out' for lack of a better turn, we had a special night... the night before..." she lifts a hand looking at it
"Oh wow..." Em said, more of an exhale of shocked breath than words. "That's amazing. I'm so happy for you." "It's so great to be able to... connect with someone in a situation like this. For a while... it makes everything seem... that less...." she looked down, her voice suddenly a little quieter, "dark." Joliette nods slowly, she knew Emelyn had lost that same feeling and felt bad that she had gained it when a friend had lost it.
"So..." Em said, looking up with a simple smile on her face, pushing aside her own thoughts for the more pleasant ones of her friend. "I don't know him, but tell all. How'd it start? What's he like? Tell tell." "Start? well that one is tough... Needless to say I met him the first day he got here, but we were just friends then, he was there for me and others for problem times so I knew he had a kind heart... He was there for the dissolving bathing suit and was the one to help me get back to my duplex.. We watched a few movies together, we talked about our pasts.. eventually I kissed him and it went from there" She tried to paraphrase teh previous couple of weeks
"Oh, that is so sweet. ...What is he... well, if you don't mind my asking- what is he turning into? You said you two changed the same time." "A wolverine, a Tasmanian devil and a bear of some kind I think if I remember what he said correctly... We did, uhm in his duplex, the early morning after we uhm... slept together..." and she didn't mean share the same bed
"Well, at least you weren't alone," Em said, rolling around the combination in her mind. She hadn't even known Moreau was capable of such a thing, and didn't want to say anything out loud about it, because she didn't trust herself not to go off in a very visible tirade about how awful the wretch was for destroying people's lives and toying with them all this way. ...One of these days soon, she'd have to either let him know that she was no longer on his side... or escape once and for all, or else she'd explode. "No, I wasn't, and our combined noise brought Hargun pounding on the door of David's duplex... somehow I don't know if I'll be alone or not next time either... I'm staying with David now... he asked me to" she frowns slightly "I don't know if I could imagine going through it alone..."
"Well, if our serums are anything alike, you'll have a good while before you have to face the change again. ...Probably just long enough for you to bear this form, though," Em said ironically. Joliette nods "That would figure... it's really something I don't look forward to, I don't imagine anyone does... and to think I just wanted a news story..."
"Well, if you ever get out of here, you'll have the story of your life." Em said it in a purposefully jokeful manner, giving off very light body language, so as not to alert Moreau or the other FERAL Lab employees, were they manning the security/observation cameras that she was discontent. ...But she couldn't resist giving Joli one quick burst of a serious look, as to let her know: "I've not given up thinking about it." Joliette didn't say anything but the look on her face when she slowly nodded gave off a definite lack of hope
It was heartbreaking. As if all the dark spots in Emelyn's mind- all the despair, all the doubt and the betrayal... and the loneliness. Dear god above, the loneliness, that ate at her soul and made her wonder how she, the independent, solo-flier... had ever let herself feel so... alone. ...They all gathered up in her mind and overtook the girl. She had only one thing left for her friend, and Moreau and his cameras be damned, she took her hand from across the table, ginger with its new additions, and looked into her eyes. "Don't give up hope, Joli. There's always hope." Joliette smiled weakly, she knew her friend took a risk.. "I'll try, I can't promise, but I'll try... I just feel like there is none right now, and it's Moreau's fault" she looked at the magazine and then back
Em looked down, not able to say any more. She'd used up all the last hope and joy she had, and now, all that was left was a swell of inadequacy and doubt, and she found herself overdue for a return to her seclusion. "Well, I don't think I can eat anymore, Joliette. ...So I'll be letting you free from the rambling for a while, and head back to the duplex. I'm so glad you and David have something... special," she said, smiling to let Joli know that she was genuinely happy for her, but also lifting her tray from the table and standing to leave as she did. "Thankyou for visiting with me Emelyn, I do enjoy talking with you, hopefully after my birthday I'll start to feel better about everything. please don't stay hidden too much... Or I may have to come hunt you down" she joked softly giving her as much of a smile as she could muster
"I'll try," Em said, knowing that she wouldn't do any such thing. "It's been great talking to you. I'll see you later. Take care of yourself, okay?" Joliette nodded gathering up her own stuff getting ready to leave the cool building herself
With a nod of her own, Em took her tray over to the cleaning station, scooped up her goggles where she'd dropped them earlier in the conversation, and walked from the cafeteria. She affixed the goggles to her head once more as she went- but never looked back.

WTF! Joliette Rigiel Joliette had hesitated to enter the cafeteria, she'd heard yelling, only one voice she knew... So at that moment holding the laptop to her chest wearing her black Gi she just stood... Unsure if she should go in or not, she had no idea Chana was storming for the door Antoinette Devereux As Chana explained why she herself had come here, and then continued her examples, Antony's face went from disbelief, a slight flicker of fear sparking through her eyes just before her face contorted in fury. The knuckles on the hand holding the fork were stark white, and she abruptly slammed her hand down on the table palm open, the silverware freed from her grasp. Eyes glaring at Chana, she sneered unwilling to allow herself to believe all this. It was a crock of s**t that's what. "******** that. I've MET Lizardman before, and it's all ******** body mods... ALL OF IT! Tattoos, implants... He was one of the first to get his tongue split for ******** sake." Antony didn't care to go after the girl she just met, and instead stood there, chest heaving in anger. Suddenly, Antony grasped her plate of food and flung it across the room as hard as she could, feeling slightly better once it shattered against the wall. Shards and chunks of lettuce littering the floor below. "******** refused to believe it. Chana Cohen Chana curled a lip in a snarl (not caring for once that she was showing off her buck teeth) and stalked out the door...
...right into Joliette. She paused, blinked, and glared at the lizard woman in question. "******** you," she told Joliette, and shoved past her. Joliette Rigiel Joliette was surprised at Chana's change in attitude towards her and slowly turned around watching hte woman leave before backing into the cafeteria her claws clicking on the lino as she walked. She was rather shocked actually, she'd never heard the woman angry like that Antoinette Devereux Antony didn't even hear the other woman come in, or bother to look in that direction, assuming Chana's '******** you' was directed towards her and not someone else. Placing her hands on the edge of the table while she caught her breath, her head and shoulders slumped in a look of tired defeat. She wasn't 'defeated' persay, but the amount of thoughts running through her head were overwhelming. Her eyes scrunched shut, looking as if she were willing away tears for a moment before she simply shook her head, willing the plague of thoughts away. Joliette Rigiel Joliette's tongue flicked and brought her a new scent, not just of hte meat in the room but someone she had not met Oh joy... she thought to herself sensing no animal about them. She turned and saw the tattooed woman sitting slouched over "Uhm Hello" she said quietly Antoinette Devereux Snapped back into reality, Antony stopped herself from looking up and simply grunted a reply, "What do you want?" It was curt and even rude, but she didn't give a rat's a** who she was offending right now. Joliette Rigiel Joliette blinked, "Nothing, I just.. wanted to ask if you are ok..." she said quietly in her thick British accent and then chewed lightly on her bottom lip with her sharp pointy teeth Antoinette Devereux Antony actually laughed, but there was nothing comforting about it. In fact, it was cruel and unforgiving, echoing through the near empty cafeteria eerily. "Is there anything about this situation that points otherwise?" The voice she spoke matched her laugh, and she growled low in her throat. Her knuckles turned white again as she gripped the edge of the table, her violet eyes staring straight down where her plate used to sit. She would not look up. Joliette Rigiel "Well if you want honesty, I dont think there is much of anything about this island that should make any of us find this situation one to make us okay... But I suppose we have to accept that in the long run" Joliette said quietly still standing beside the table Antoinette Devereux That was it. Something this girl had said, though honest, tipped the scales for Antony. She was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak, and Antony snarled, violently pushed the table aside, and then caught this girl's throat with her dominant hand. She had no clue that this woman had claws. At all. Thrusting upwards enough for her to be quite uncomfortable while still allowing her to breath, the sight that greeted her violet eyes just seemed to piss her off more. "I. Will. Not. BELIEVE IT!" Antony paused only to take a ragged breath, "I suggest you peddle your ******** sideshow to someone else b***h." Clearly, Antony was no longer too in touch with reality. Joliette Rigiel Joliette's eyes narrowed the sudden movement having caused her to drop the laptop to the table's surface, she was good at self defence, she hadn't become a blackbelt for nothing. one clawed hand going to grasp the wrist of the hand holding her throat sharp claws threatening to pierce her skin, the second hand balled into a fist and drove straight for the woman's solar plexus, with the hand at her throat she wasn't gonna be able to say anything even if she wanted to Antoinette Devereux Antony didn't have any time to react to the claws besides an angry hiss before the fist came barrelling into her stomach, knocking the wind out of her. Adrenaline cauesd her to easily forget about the pain in her arm, her grip loosening considerably however, free hand immediately grapping for the wrist of the hand that just decked her. She may not be a black belt, but she grew up with boys, drank with men, and had dated her share of cocky women beaters to boot. In short, she had survived her share of brawls. Catching her breath enough, Antony slammed her heel down towards Joliette's instep, eyes continuing to glare into the other's eyes. As much as she wouldn't admit it, and as twisted as it may sound, Antony was enjoying the fight, pain and all. Joliette Rigiel Joliette's was not a tall person measuring at 4'5" She'd been sucessfully lifted off the floor, now she landed on it again . she swung her heavy foot/leg aiming for the groin of the woman, attempting to avoid the foot moving for her own heavy foot. Sharp teeth bared she dug her claws into the arm she held. "We are trapped here, fighting will not solve it" she said Antoinette Devereux Antony made a noise between a his and a growl as the lizard girl's claws dug deeper still. With both weight and height on her side, the blow from her foot connecting to her groin barely unbalanced the tattooed woman. Her grip on the girl's wrist tightened, and Antony twisted it roughly and snarled, eyes sparkling, "No... But it's making me feel better," she positively sneered, her ugly side definately out and about. Eyeing the woman's teeth, Antony made a bit of a resolution that if they came anywhere near biting her, any mercy that was still within her would no longer exist. Jamal_Reedy After a long day of lazing away and smoking some dope, Jamal decided it was time to eat something and hopefully put the slight hangover he had at bay. He was freshly showered, wearing a clean pair of dark grey jeans and a black tank, and once again had most if not all his bling in proper order. When he came into the cafeteria, he had not been anticipating a fight of any kind and especially not one between two of the women villagers. Once he saw who was involved, however, he wasn't -that- surprised. "Oh jesus ********' god," he muttered. Did he really want to get involved in this? This...was vaguely entertaining in a way. Nothing like a good catfight to bring more joy to an already promising day. However, he felt the fight was somewhat unfair, being that Joli had claws and while Antony was an animal of another sort, he wasn't sure that she'd match up well against claws and fangs. He didn't want to see damage inflicted on the goods, that was sure. Against his better judgement, he moved in to intervene, trying to get between them both by clasping a hand firmly on the wrist of either woman to try and stop them from landing another blow. "A'ight you two, knock it da ******** off b'fo ya get too much blood on da floor. Gawd damn, I ain't gonna be cleanin' it up," he muttered in a level tone, not really attempting to make a joke. He didn't want the cafeteria trashed as it would suck if the Doc decided they didn't need it, just like he decided they didn't need the alcohol at the beach bar. Joliette Rigiel Joliette moved her body with the twisting of her arm "Tell that to her Jamal" Joliette said angrily, "she started this" her claws didn't ease on the wrist, Antony was going to have to let go first. She was prepared to keep defending if she had to Antoinette Devereux Antony sneered at both her and Jamal. Like hell she was going to let a man intervene. She didn't need his help. <******** you cuntface!" The woman hissed, fighting against Jamal's grip as well as the lizard's. If Jamal wanted to stop this, he would have to forcefully drag her off the b***h. So without further adieu, Antony forcefully brought her knee up and into the girl in front of her. She could care less where it landed by now. Jamal_Reedy "I don't ********' care who started it," Jamal said loudly with very tangible annoyance. He wasn't here to help anyone in particular but himself. "But I'll be damned if yous both screw up somethin' else fo' me jus' 'cause ya wanna brawl in onna' da buildin's." It was obvious that Antony was going to be the one to give the most problems in seperation, so Jamal tried to slide himself between the pair as best he could, letting Joli's wrist go and latching onto both of Antony's. "Let 'er go, Joli," he practically barked, having little sympathy if he hurt anyone's feelings, and tried to push Antony backwards to create space. Very unfortunate for him, he managed to get between them well enough that Antony's kick landed very squarely in a very sensitive place. He gave a very loud "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" squeak and nearly dropped to his knees, a look of very intense pain flitting over his features. Joliette Rigiel Joliette didn't take too well to orders but she did loosen her claws, her yellow tongue flicked and she smelled the blood in the air from the punctures her claws had made, she would fully let go only when Antony did, she didn't even notice where Antony's kick may have landed Antoinette Devereux If it was one thing Antony knew, it was the pained cry of a man who just got nailed in the family jewels, and a look of pure 'oh s**t' came across her face.
She had just injured her possible ******** buddy in the worst place ever. ******** you Irony!
Her hand let go of the other girl's as she violently jerked her right free as well, not caring if she got injured further. Chest heaving, Antony harbored a look of burning anger remaining from whatever she was fighting about. She also had an expression of guilt and remorse for her mislanded kick and Jamal. She really hadn't meant to kick him.
Thankfully, Antony could no longer see the lizard girl through the heighty black man in front of her, and her rage began to subside, arms going loose in his hands. "Well ******** class="clear"> Jamal_Reedy Jamal's eyes watered painfully as he staggered forward with Antony's swift movement to jerk her hand away from Joli. He let her wrists go and immediately dropped them down to his crotch, hunching forward slightly as though it would help the pain spread to other parts of his body. It didn't, however. He sucked in a sharp breath and resisted the urge to make another squeal and instead let off a slew of cursing that would have made a sailor blush. At least the two girls were seperated. He wasn't sure if he could do anything more at this point, thanks to his delicate condition. Joliette Rigiel Joliette let go of Antony as well and took a step back her yellow tongue flickering picking up all the scents of hte gernal area, and too angry to even feel nautious as she folded her arms. Certainly she felt bad for Jamal, though she knew it was partly his fault for the 'injury' "oh mon deu" she sighed Antoinette Devereux Antony ignored lizardgirl entirely and watched Jamal with a horrified expression plastered onto her face. A quick intake of air with her jaw shut made a sort of hissing noise as she winced with the curse words, not because they offended her, but because her chances of fixing this were looking slimmer and slimmer. Reaching out tenatively and slowly as if approaching an injured animal, Antony cautiously placed the hand attached to the bleeding arm on his shoulder. "I didn't me... Sorry." It was all she could really do for the time being. Jamal_Reedy "Ah...I..know," he managed to sputter as he tried to stand up straighter. oh gods, he was going to feel the effects of this for a LONG time. Normally when someone got him in the groin like that, they were marked on his shitlist for a -long- time, but that was generally because they were frigid bitches who decided it was funny to cripple a man with a blow to such a sensitive area. He was trying so hard to not look like an absolute baby, but his expression of @O@ killed that illusion effectively. "I...I think...I need a smoke," he whispered as he leaned forward again. Joliette Rigiel Joliette turned and clumped tot he counter and found a dishtowel that had been left there and went to the salad bar and scooped some ice that was there into it. bunching hte top she walked back tot he pair and held it out to Jamal. "Here... might help" she said her yellow tongue flicking out and in at hte end of the sentence Antoinette Devereux Good, he wasn't going to hate her forever. There was still hope! His next comment made her chuckle softly as she stepped closer to him, in case he wanted to nonchalantly lean against her shoulder or something. "Guess I owe you now..." she muttered, forgetting that Joli was in fact still there. Until her voice was heard a little too close to Antony for her comfort, and she ground her teeth in visible agitation. After a bit, she finally held out her bleeding hand and motioned her to hand over the ice 'bag.' Her eyes remained firmly on Jamal, not even moving to look at her. She didn't know if she could get her rage under control again if she did. Out of sight, out of mind. Antony could only wish. It was right about then that she became vibrantly aware of the wounds on her arm, but she pushed that towards the back of her mind and focused on Jamal for now. She had been through worse. Jamal_Reedy Jamal didn't dare look to see what Joli had in her hand, fearing it might be something that he really didn't want near his already bruised nether region. God damn, he was going to demand Moreau send him a sports cup for the next time he decided to get in between two ladies intent on causing great bodily injury to each other. He did take the opportunity to lean into her shoulder to steady himself, then absently thought she smelled good whilst he was there. The black man didn't stay there too long, as the pain was slowly ebbing into a persistant throb instead of a knee-shattering, make-you-cry-like-a-baby stabbing pain, and again stood up shakily. "Well. Lets not do dat again, yeah?" he managed, trying hard not to make it come off as he was pissed, because he wasn't pleased. Who would be in that situation. Joliette Rigiel Joliette rolled her eyes slightly "Okay, you're man enough for no ice then" she grumbled and dropped tied the towel on the floor, she had no intention of handing anything to the woman who had attacked her, she still had no idea what hte name of said woman was.
With a grumpy mumble she turned her back and fetched her laptop opening it to see if the woman had cause d her to damage it... so help her if she did... fortunately the top of hte line model she had bought hadn't suffered any damage Antoinette Devereux Only once Jamal was steady enough on his own two feet did she allow her eyes to evaluate the damage the wench caused her. Turning her arm around while inspecting it, Antony was pleased to see that while her wrist was a mess, none of her tattoos had been marred. Laptops are replacable, but tattoo work? Not so much. Joliette lucked out. Fine by her. Antony kicked away any ice that had managed to land close to her and Jamal's feet so that neither would trip on any of it. "Why not Jamal? You had so much fun." Her tone was dry, but a slight smile tweaked at the corner of her mouth to show that she was most definately joking. Sighing, Antony debated taking off her shirt to wrap her wrist with, but decided that this was not the time nor place to do so. "C'mon," she grunted, grabbing her bag full of fruit before motioning towards the door with her left hand. She could take care of him back at her place, it was her knee after all. "You can smoke at my place." Jamal_Reedy Jamal grunted irritably at Joli and gave her a look that clearly showed his unappreciate for her lack of compassion given what he had done for them (oh he's such a martyr). "A'ight," he said to Antony's offer. He'd probably get in trouble for covering the place in pot smoke anyway if he lit up here. It was just the walking part that he wasn't sure about. Joliette Rigiel Joliette's previous experience with Jamal and this one did little for her compassion towards anyone just then. He hadn't even bothered to look at her and had been more concerned about him then her during hte fight. Forgetting her entire need for food she turned and left without a word. She was seriously not having a good week, she tried to help someone and had gotten attacked... just joyful... she'd done nothing to Chana and got sworn at..she just wanted to hide away till after her birthday now.. "perhaps I will" she mumbled to herself as she disappeared from teh cafeteria

The Vent(AIM RP Log) Joliette grumped all the way out of the town hall, she figured if the new person was as new as she thought she was it was likely that going to her own duplex or the darkroom or even David's duplex for that matter would make her cross paths with the woman once more. So instead she turned the opposite direction and headed for the beach
Halfway along the path to the beach Awen stood facing the outer part of the island, her back to the road. Her face was set in confliction, her gaze was deep in her thoughts. She fidgeted a little bit, her foot shuffling forward a little...then back again. She was deciding, wondering, fighting with her own instincts. Terrified yet so certain. This was how Joliette would come across the poor girl, not yet even in sight of the water.
Joliette looked up 'smelling' someone familiar with her tongue "Hello Awen" she sounded a touch grumpy, but who wouldn't after what had just happened "Something wrong?" she asked having a feeling she'd not get the same reaction as she had before
For a moment Awen seemed as if she couldn't hear, or was ignoring Joliette. In fact she gave no reaction at all until she heard the question. She jumped realising a person was suddenly right there. She blinked a few times and recognized the newly scaled face of the island photographer. She smiled instantly. "Everything's fine just.... thinking about going to the beach." She shifted from foot to foot before shaking her head. "Hey! Thanks for the present, that was such a beautiful picture! I'm sorry I didn't get you anything....."
"I'm glad you liked it, and don't worry about it" she smiled weakly "having friends here is enough of a gift" she looked ahead of them "Well I'm going that direction, we could go together"
Awen hesitated a moment. "Can... can we not, for now?" Her brow creased in worry. She didn't know if she could hold out against these instincts for too much longer. She was afraid if she saw the ocean she would just have to give in, and rush right into them, which was just not acceptable. Was it? Her stomach clenched a litle bit thinking of drowning.... she didn't even know how to swim after all. She looked around for an alterative. "The jungle?"
"Sure.. less likely to run into the tattooed ... woman" she bit the word off "in there" she looked for a path and then headed into it
She raised an eyebrow as they went down the jungle path. She went through the list of people on the island... she didn't remember anyone besides Jamal with tattoos, though she was happy she didn't end with man (it meant he wasn't causing trouble again), she frowned thinking that Moreau brought a new girl to the island. "I haven't met any tattooed woman, but I take it you guys had a ...disagreement of sorts? Is she new, was it over..changes?"
"I asked her if she was ok... she asked if there was anything that should make me think it was, I told her honestly I didn't think there was much here for anyy of us to be ok.. she in turn jumped up and put her hand around my throat and proceeded to pick me up by it..." Joliette rambled she was venting yes, but didn't mean it to come out harshly at Awen.. it simply just... came out "So I punched her to get her to let go, and she went after my instep so I kicked her... "
Awen's eyes widened and she lost step staring at Joli's back. "She tried to choke you!?" The rest of Joli's actions were obviously in self defense, but this tattooed...crazy person had tried to strangle Joliette just for asking what was wrong? Moreau sure knew how to pick the good one's didn't he? "Are you alright Joli?"
Joli sighs and nods coming to a stop "Jamal kinda intervened partway through... got himself kicked in the knackers too"
Awen made a face with a little "Ooo..." hearing how Jamal got kicked. That's gotta hurt.... But she smiled soon after. Jamal really was a good guy, proof there of. See he broke up a fight rather than start on, for once. "Well, I'm glad no one got...too hurt. And that Jamal is actually preventing damage rather than causing it. The big guy... just doesn't know how to react to this stuff sometimes... we all don't but ya know he just..handles it badly sometimes but..." She paused and realized she was rambling again. "Anyway, so what happened then, the girl left you alone right?"
"Yeah she was more concerned with Jamal.. the kick that got his knackers was meant for me and came from her... last I heard from their mouths was Jamal needing a smoke, and the woman saying they'd go to her place for it.. and then they left.. and so did I" she sighed, the conversation was definitely calming her nerves
Something prickled on the back of her neck at Joli's words. Something..vaguely familiar. Like an anxious, nervous feeling when the lights go out- when you haven't been afraid of the dark since you were five. Awen couldn't place her finger on just what this tingle might be, so she just let it drop. If it was important she would feel it more, and know what it was.
"Well good... last time I caught Jamal smoking in my place he got it good." She chuckled softly. "But I'm sorry about that hm? Maybe you should throw in a complaint, or warning to Moreau. I mean..she tried to strangle you! What would this island be to me and Chubbsie if we didn't have out little Joli to brighten the place eh?" She loved being able to say little and actually mean from her point of view too.... aahh what mere inches to do the ego.
Joliette chuckled, a smile reaching her face for the first time in days. "It would be one less Varanus komodoensis anyways"
"And lacking too many varaneeoose Komwhatchamacallit!" Awen said in a very matter-of-fact tone and nodded a little bit. Even though she had no idea what a Va... whatever was. She was glad to see Joliette smile though, she didn't think the girl had been very happy since the change, and especially not since the incedent earlier.
Joliette chuckled "Varanus komodoensis... Komodo Dragon... it's what I'm becoming" she tried to explain
"Oh hey! Komodo Dragons those things are so-!" Her excited tone stopped and dropped suddenly. "cool-unless you happen to not like meat, which you don't, which is kind of a drag, but that's not really what I'm trying to do with this pep talk, so ya know I'll just keep my trap shut ya?" She ended with the goofiest apologetic smile.
Joliette chuckled again listening to Awen's run-on sentence "No I don't like meat, but I'm having no choice in the matter, the claws came in handy in a fight though... I didn't want to use them though but did she should have a set of punctures in her arms... I could smell them..." she sighed slightly "Some way to spend christmas... "
"Oh Joliette...." She couldn't help it and she just wrapped the photographer up in a warm hug. She hated seeing this girl down, it just wasn't any fun. Might make for some cool pictures though.. they say artists really shine when they are A) In love or B) Depressed. But Awen really didn't want to see art at the price of her friend's happiness. "It'll be okay Joli, really it will be. I mean, let's put it this way, things can't get much worse-right? They'll only go up from here!"
Joliette accepted the hug and even returned it one armed since the other held her laptop. "I guess, we'll see how my birthday goes... if it goes as I expect it too... it'll go down a lil more before going up again"
Awen tilted her head slightly. "Birthday? When?" She gained a mischievous smile.
"Tomorrow" Joliette admitted "December 29th, I was almost a new years baby" she eyed the blue haired girl's mischievous smile
Awen gasped and her eyes widened. Tomorrow? Oh no then she wouldn't have time to prepare anything special! The grin and life faded for a moment before returning less than a moment later. "Me and Chubbs'll make sure you have a happy birthday!" She nodded definitely.
"If David has anything to say about it it's sure to be interesting, he found out on Christmas, when he showed me the mini golf course he jamal and Ambrose made" She nodded
Awen smiled bright then all of a sudden spazzed. "GYAH no!" She covered her ears even though it was too late. "Oh no! I wasn't supposed to know until I found Chubbs. I promised I wouldn't peek or ask anyone until I found him. He wanted to see my expression when I found out..." She sighed and smiled again. "Aw well... no big deal."
Joliette frowned "I'm sorry" she said quietly "It's easy to see though, it's all uncovered and the fancing is down and everything, I'm surprised you haven't seen it yet" she looked at the jungle floor and sat on a fallen log
"Yeah I've been avoiding the area." She smiled a little bit. "But it doesn't matter I'll still be surprised to see what it looks like." Leaning against a tree she grinned. "Hey, how about a birthday mini golf tourney? It could bring everyone together for fun and in the spirit of the games..all that stuff. Or maybe just me you Chubbs and Jamal? It'll be like..uh... a double date or something."
"Uhm Jamal's last time around both David and I he was storming out of the cafeteria and didn't look overly thrilled about mine or David's presence, not to mention what just happened... But if you can convince him... I see nothing wrong with it..." Joliette looked up at her friend
Awen smiled down at Joliette. "Ah he was just pissed at other people... he likes you guys really. He doesn't mean to be angry or anything. Really he's a sweet guy."
Joliette nods right then she didn't have an opinion about Jamal... "Yeah he helped me take the darkroom stuff to 28 when it got dropped off at his place that one day... Speaking of which I have a little more bubblewrap for him from the replacement equipment... I just haven't had a chance to give it to him..."
"I can give it to him, if you'd like me to?" She smiled a little bit. It gives me an excuse to go see the big lug anyway, she thought to herself.
"Sure, that works... It's in the darkroom.. Have you seen the darkroom since I finished setting it up?" she asks glad to be off the fight topic
She shook her head. "Not since the mattress went splat..."
Joliette blushes slightly "Sorry about that... I didn't mean to get you... it's done though... that's where I did the photographs I gave for Christmas"
"I figured as much, they were really amazingly pretty you know." She nodded. "I'm going to put it right into my scrapbook."
"Thanks, there's a few I didn't use they are still hanging, I thought you might like one that didn't include the ocean..." she knew her friend had a problem with water...
Awen half chuckled. "Good call on that one." She smiled. "But I don't know how much longer that feeling will last."
Joliette smiles "My favorite was the one I gave David, it was a sunset with a silhouette of the mountain"
"Oh that would have been pretty.... I should actually get out at sunset and look at it...but ya know I've been hiding away.. doing this kicking butt with Kilik or Sonic ...." She shrugged a little bit.
"There's a similar one hanging in the darkroom, I'll show you later if you like" she places the laptop in her lap resting her arms atop it "What did you get for christmas from moreau?" she asks
"Ooo Ooo" Her eyes went wide. "Soul Calibur III" Was that drool coming from the corner of Awen's mouth? Naw.... "And a bloody PsP! It is awesome. But a little wonky I think..Moreau modified it or they came out with a new version while I've been away or something. Still works great though. What about you?"
"An ipod and a pile of magazines from the publisher I worked for before I came here... dated from when I left to look for Vasile until now" she sighed
"Oh..well the ipod is sweet anyway." She grinned, unsure of how the girl was feeling about the magazines...
"I already have one, filled with my music, so it wasn't all that fantastic of a gift... The magazines I think they gave to spite me... all of them had articles about me in them" Joliette sat up and opened her laptop, she'd gotten tired of carrying the magazines around and had scanned them in with her photo scanner and pasted them together. she pulled them open so the oldest was on top and turned the laptop towards her friend
Awen scanned the pages. "Oh dear.." She said softly clicking around a bit. "I'm sorry Joli...."
"Needless to say my hope of rescue is pretty much gone" she sighed, "and I get to know just how much my parents miss me"
Awen frowned a little bit. "Well... there's still hope that someone else will have a rescue party... And.. it's nice to know your parents care right?"
Joliette thought about this for a moment and then started nodding, slowly at first then a lil faster "Yeah... it is nice to know how much they care... I hadn't really thought about it that way..."
Awen smiled a little bit. She bit back a comment that she knew would ruin her friends mood. She couldn't help thinking it very loudly though. You wonder a lot about how your parents would care, when you don't have any. She was really happy though for Joli, and had -should have- gotten over her parent issue a long time ago...
"See? Not so bad, eh?"
Joli nodded and closed the files on her system "Very true" she opened her windows explorer and dug through some files eventually opening one dated a year before "My 21st birthday... seems like so long ago now... how old are you Awen?" she asks looking at the photo of her with her parents and grandparents before looking up
"19." She smiled a little bit. "Just legal in Canada, not that it matters really...."
Joliette chuckles slightly "Legal here if you really want alcohol I would imagine"
"Does it really matter I wonder? I don't think the Doc cares to regulate.... and I don't like to drink anyway really..."
Joliette chuckles "I think Jamal does, but just cause one of a couple does doesn't mean both will, so I suppose it really doesn't matter. Personal preference I guess"
She nodded a little. "Exactly."
Joliette closes the laptop once more "Want to see what I did with 28?" she asks
Awen shook her head slowly. "Rain check maybe?" Her stomach growled softly. "I think my stomach will be angry if I neglect it much longer."
Joliette nods "Sounds good, it'll be there for a long time to come.. or least till it has no further purpose"
Awen nodded a bit and started towards the village again. "Have a good time of it Joliette, and remember you're always cared for ya know?"
Joliette nods and watches her friend wander away before standing and heading for the darkroom now in the mood to develope photos

Happy Birthday Joliette(AIM RP Log) Joliette had gone to her darkroom after she left Awen in the jungle, she immersed herself in developing photos and film that she had been putting off, The only light she had running was the safelights and with all the boarded up windows she was not aware of just how much time had elapsed. since she started. It was much like on the mainland when she got into the same task, though there... she didn't have anyone back home waiting for her... save her parents
Chubbs hadn't seen Joliette fro the bulk of the day, he wondered if she was avoiding him. It was okay though, he wanted some time to prepare her gift, and spent all after noon making it. He had smelt her up in her darkroom, it was unmistakable. He stayed near the door way with a hand behind his back and knocked on the door. " Ummm hello?" Joliette looked up and pulled the photo out of the stop bath and clipped it on the hanger, it was save now to turn the one dim light on that the duplex had so she did and then walked tot he door unlocking it and pulling it open "Hi David" she says with a smile when she sees him and looks past him surprised to see the darkness
Chubbs smiled and then kissed her immediately on the lips, for a bit of a long time. He missed those lips all day, and been wanting to do that again. After he stopped and pulled back with a smile, he presented from behind his back, a chocolate cake with sprinkles on top and icing with three small candles on top alit on flame. He took a deep breath and began to sing. " Haaaaaaappy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Joliette!!... Happy birrrrrrrrrthday... tooooo yoooooooooooou!!" Joliette blushes lightly as he sings to her, and when he's done she does indeed blow out the candles "Thankyou David" she says softly looking up at him with just as soft a smile
Chubbs grinned from ear to ear and clapped one thigh when she blew out the candles. " Oh ya umm welcome to have some... I made it with not one ounce of animal product" Joliette giggles, "Let me grab my laptop, we'll go home and do that together" she says turning and walking tot he desk taking hold of the said laptop before rejoining him
Chubbs balanced the cake in in one hand and took Joliette's hand in the other and lead her down the stairs. He really should have saved the course for her birthday gift, but it was to be revealed on Christmas for the community. He opened the door for her to his duplex, allowing her to step in first Joliette walks in setting the laptop atop the surface of the dresser and stretches, she's wearing her black Gi. She smiles turning to face him the sleeves of her gi right down to her wrists hid the marks on her one wrist, but only her hair hid the ones on her neck.
Chubbs sets the cake down oh the dresser too, kind of their table for now. Reaching in his back pocket he found two paper plates and a plastic knife that he hands to Joliette. "Traditional for the Birthday Girl to cut the cake" Joliette giggles and cuts it serving them both a piece. before eating it. she leans on the dresser while she eats using the hand the woman had not held to eat with
Chubbs grinned as she touched the bottom of the plate with her knife "Ooo! ya touched the bottom with the knife, now you have to say who ya boyfriend is" He nibbled on his cake piece, it still tasted alright. "Hmmm gee I wonder if that might be... David" she giggles and puts the plate down "It's tasty" she says and walks closer to him gently moving his hands aside so she could wrap her arms around him
Chubbs smiled at her like of his cake, she shouldn't miss out just because of her food tastes. He smiled as she hugged to him and he put his cake down and hugged her in return. He kissed the top of her head, then in a grin, scooped some icing off the cake and dabbed it on her nose. With a chuckle at the look, he soon licked it off. Joliette giggles softly kissing his chin as he licks the icing away, the treat was nearly forgotten, well she'd go back to it later, she was more interested in being with him just then
Chubbs gave her a big cuddle, tight in his arms and smiled. He loved to give them and she felt so nice in his arms. He brought her over to the bed so he may sit and hold her. " And what would you have me do for your birthday?" "Right now? well it's off to a better start then I thought it would be.. some special time would be wonderful..." she tells him softly playing with the ends of the Gi's belt
" Special time it is then!" He declared as he grabbed her tightly and grinned. Chubbs tickled her side playfully and smiles, playing with one of her gi belt ends Joliette bursts into giggles squirming from the tickles and moves her hands to the knot of the belt, it was tied in a typical knot, like always and she tugged at it pulling it loose
Chubbs looked down at the belt and saw as she undid it some. He slowly helped her undo the belt and slide it off from around her. Joliette looked up at him shrugging her shoulders till the Gi slid off of them and down her arms which she pulled from the sleeves leaving her top have rather bare
Chubbs ran his hand down her chest softly and leaned forward to kiss her lips. It may have been her birthday, but with her, it felt like everyday it was his. Joliette smiles softly and kisses his lips when they meet her own, she lifts both hands and rests them on his cheeks near his jawbone, forgetting and ignoring the bruised wrist she had
Chubbs held her around her waist and pulled her close to him, crushing their chest's together as he melded into the kiss. He wanted to show her how much he missed her today, and how much he loved her. Joliette melts into the kiss the worries and other emotions of the day all pushed into the back corner of her mind as she devoted her thoughts to him
Chubbs gripped her backside in his clawed fingers, trying to keep his claws out of the way. His kiss deepened with his desire for her, not one would have treated him tlike this. Joliette held the kiss until the call for air forced her to break away, her eyes closed she 'looked' towards the ceiling a bit enjoying the closeness
Chubbs smiled and gave her lips a quick peck. He then planted soft kisses down her chin and toe her neck, giving her a squeeze as he did Joliette let him, the touch of his kisses rather then the memory of the tattooed woman's strong fingers was a very welcome feeling
Chubbs hadn't done this type of kissing before, he wasn't sure if he was doing it right. Opening his eyes, he looked to Joliette and smiled at the look on her face. As he leaned down to kiss her neck again he blinked seeing the bruise. " Woa.. hey I thought you had to suck to get a hickey" "Hmm?" Joliette opened her eyes slightly looking towards him wondering what exactly caused him to stop, he had been doing a wonderful job making her forget her worries and problems
Chubs ran his clawed thumb softly over the marks on her neck gently in an effort to sooth it. He wondered how she got such a bruise and he looked concerned. " How did you get that? are you ok?" Joliette sat more upright bringing a hand to her neck a questioning look on her face at first. The hand happened to be the one Antony had grabbed the wrist of, it took a moment before she clued in "Oh!.... Uhmm... I kinda had to defend myself today" she admitted
Chubbs went wide eyed, his hair nearly sat upright, but it definitely changed colour somewhat. He held her tightly and looked in her eyes. He said he would protect her, and now he she was having to defend herself. His lip curled a moment. " Who was it?" "Some new girl with tattoos... and lots of piercings... I asked her if she was ok after hearing her and Chana fight.. verbally... she asked if there was any indication that it would be otherwise or something of that nature and I said in honesty I didn't think there was much on this island to make any of us feel 'ok'... next think I know I've got her hand around my throat lifting me up... so I punched her.. and she grabbed my wrist and it went from there... stopped a few minutes later when Jamal intervened" she tried to explain
Chubbs frowned and looked at her neck closely, his hands balled into fists and trembled lightly. He was angry, but more so than he should be, Chubbs felt like breaking something in half, finding this woman and slamming her face into the ground repeatedly. The images flashed into his mind and it scared him that he would want to go so extreme. Every time he glanced at the mark, the feelings came flooding up through him. He forced his hands to unclench and he held Joliette close. His tried to speak through somewhat gritted teeth. " I... I'm glad you are.. o-okay... just stay away from her" Joliette wraps her arms around David holding him close to her and nods "I shall endeavor to do so, to the best of my ability considering how small the island is" she replies softly
Chubbs finally took a breath and swallowed hard. HE was still on edge, feeling like a puffed up cat. He wanted to hit something, hard, and now, but he held Joliette instead, hoping her being there would soon sooth the savage beast that wanted to be free. Chubbs hoped now that he would never meet Lauren or the tattooed woman, he was afraid of what he might do. Chubbs looked back to Joliette and kissed her lips, knowing this would quell his tension. Joliette was unaware of David's inner turmoil, she could tell he was upset about the bruises she had received and felt bad for making him upset. She presses her lips against his closing her eyes and just melting into the kiss, her hand moved to rest on his furry cheek contently
Chubbs deepened the kiss quickly, holding the back of her head. He was feeling more loving now, the images faded from his mind and were replaced by her. He leaned into her hand on his cheek, she always had a gentle touch. He lifted her onto his lap and held her about her middle with his arm. Joliette let him move her though she was mindful of where her claws went, she knew they were sharp, after all they'd punctured the tattooed woman's skin fairly easily. Just then she was just glad to be in the arms of someone who loved her on her birthday
Chubbs kissed her with a heated passion, wrapping his lips around hers. He was finding his emotions were heightened as of late. He drew back gently to let each other draw a breath, though he waited to the last moment. He looked into her eyes with a small smile, gently kissing her lips every few seconds. Joliette had opened her eyes slowly after pulled away the first time she was enjoying the near playful little kisses. Even when in between two kisses her annoying tongue decided to flicker. the back of her fingers trailed along his cheek gently
Chubbs couldn't help but smile when he saw the tongue, it actually was very amusing, it also tickled as it flickered against him. He decided to mimic the action and flicked his tongue back at her, he looked like a licking dog. He slipped both his hands and held her backside in them. Joliette startled not having expected him to lick her and then dissolved into giggles and rested her arms on his shoulders letting that yellow tongue flicker once more
Chubbs grinned and flickered his own again, playing the amusing game between them. He softly gave her a squeeze and flicked his tongue over her nose. Joliette giggles and then buries her face in his furry shoulder "I love you David" she says softly
Chubbs felt her brush against the nape of his neck, it was a somewhat ticklish spot for him. He purred slightly as she buried her face and he gently ran his claws through her hair. " I love you Joliette, and happy birthday" "I didn't think it would be one.... I suppose everyone can be wrong" she replies softly referring to her birthday as she speaks. She likes the feeling of his clawed fingers in her hair and just completely melted and relaxed under his touch
Chubbs smiled, resting his head against hers and combing her hair with his claws. He softly stroked her back with his other and kissed the top of her head. He adored holding her like this, caring for her. " It'll be a good one always .. if I can help it" "Thankyou David, I appreciate that" she replies and moves one hand along his chest, the rest of her staying exactly where she was
Chubbs' chest purred at the touch of her hand and he closed his eyes. He returned the gesture, stroking his hand down hers, feeling very blissful Joliette pulled away from his shoulder and looked up at him with a soft smile. She watched him for a moment then moved her other hand to rest on the back of his neck and she moves to kiss him
Chubbs looked down at her as she rose and met her lips part way. He felt so warm and energetic in the kiss. He kissed her with all the love he could show and slipped his arms around her. Chubbs pulled her slowly down with him as he rested on the bed and she lay over him. Joliette could not complain when he lay back nothing had ever stopped them from enjoying special time together and her previous mood was proving to be no exception to that.
Chubbs looked up above him on the wall, and with a stretch, flicked out the lights in the room. He could still make her out in the dark of the room, smiling at her face. He reached down and tugged at the drawstring of his shorts Joliette shifted her weight to allow for him to do such, she rolled to one side and used a free hand to push at the waistband on her Gi bottoms
Chubbs slowly slipped free, lifting his hips up and kicking them free. He then helped Joliette with her own as he watched her with a smile Joliette relaxed and returned to resting atop of him, oh how she loved how special he made her feel with everything he did, regardless his intentions she'd felt that way in his actions towards her before they started going out as well
Chubbs kissed her softly, holding her cheeks in his hands. It deepened the longer it went, Chubbs' hands slid down her form, feeling ever curve of her small frame. She felt so soft and wonderful, he wished to make he birthday complete She melted into the kiss closing her eyes and letting the feelings of love she felt for him wash over her, he had already made her birthday better then she expected to have been and she doubted it could get worse

Strange Encounters Lily Delaney Lily had decided to explore a little bit, and she hadn't gone very far before she'd found the beach. Deciding it was a nice, quiet place to walk around- especially if she was vacationing- she'd stayed.
After a short walk along the shore, she walks back from the water and takes a seat- still looking out at the water. It looks so easy to get away, if only one had a boat or something, but she knows better than that. Her mind wanders to the people stuck on the Island, feeling lucky she hadn't met anyone along the way but also kind of disappointed.
She knows she can't avoid them forever, and she is, of course, a little curious about it all.. Joliette Rigiel Joliette walked out onto the sand, her heavy bare feet sinking a little in the warm sand, she wore a pair of shorts and a short sleeved top that had been cut so the shirt was only long enough to cover herself but let the nice warmth of the sun touch her skin. She looked over the ocean and then around her.. Oh boy.. just joy... Someone ELSE new...
She trudges up behind the sitting girl who's hair was much like her own in color.. auburn "It's a lovely view to be stuck with isn't it" she mused Lily Delaney Lily, who'd been unable to find any suitable vacation wear in her stuff, is wearing a clean shirt and pair of pants. Not that she'd intended to go right to the beach anyway. She pulls gently at one of her sleeves when she hears a voice behind her, an accented voice.
"Yes," she replies absently, caught off guard. Without the concern about what she'd see she'd felt when she met Chana the previous night, she turns her head to look at the person who spoke to her.
"Oh!" She stares for a split second, then gets to her feet- realizing what she's looking at. She smiles apologetically after she stops staring, "Um- Hello." Joliette Rigiel Joliette's eyes leave the view and return to the female "Hello" she says quietly her yellow tongue flicked out and in again bringing her the woman's scent. Her mood was sosos, she was still blah, but at least she had had a decent birthday, even if it wasn't as good as previous ones. After the tattooed woman's reaction to her, she was nearly expecting anything Lily Delaney Distracted momentarily by the tongue, and the scales, Lily clears her throat softly to draw her attention back to the person and remind herself not to stare.
"My name is Lily," she introduces herself, holding out a hand.. Joliette Rigiel Joliette gave a small smile and took the woman's hand careful not to get her with the long sharp claws "I'm Joliette" she says, her name was very french in origin and pronunciation "Nice to meet you... I suppose if you aren't running and screaming or trying to beat the shite out of me you've already heard the 'welcome to the island' talk from someone" she nodded feeling somewhat relieved she wouldn't have to give it if this were the case Lily Delaney Lily smiles and glances at Joliette's hand curiously when she shakes it, "That's a pretty name, Joliette." And she nods in agreement at the 'nice to meet you' comment, realeasing the hand- this woman doesn't seem that bad of course.
But then she gives a mental jump- should she be acting more frightened or surprised? Maybe trying to be polite would be a good way to go about this.
"Um, what 'welcome to the island' talk?" She asks curiously, tilting her head. She could get this one to sound more natural, since she never really had any form of that discussion for her situation. Joliette Rigiel Joliette sighed, perhaps the woman hadn't... just great... last person she told wouldn't believe her "Welcome to the island, you're stuck here for the rest of your life... we're all being turned into animals by an insane doctor... I'm sorry" she said softly, she tried to get it over with and now waited for the reaction which she was sure wasn't going to be very good Lily Delaney That was fast.
And all Lily can manage is a stare. There's something about hearing someone actually say it now that confirms it. She already knew, but she could pretend it wasn't so until there was proof that she was exactly in the position she thought she was.
Well, someone with scales and claws just told her that.
She opens her mouth to say something, the closes it and takes a step back. Feeling that she prefered pretending she didn't know to trying to figure out how to act surprised about it. "Oh?" she finally manages meekly. Maybe she could use this as a chance to satisfy her curiousity?
"Is that why you have claws?" She asks nervously, hoping that wouldn't get the reaction her more harmless questions had gotten from Chana. Joliette Rigiel "Claws, and sharp teeth and scales... amung other things" her tongue flicked out and in once more "According to my research I'm turning into a Komodo Dragon... Just something joyful for a vegan. I'd rather just escape and take my chances with the cancer we would get if we didn't complete the process" Joliette pushed the hair from her face and sat down on the sand in the sun Lily Delaney Lily watches Joliette's tongue flicker again. A komodo dragon, and this woman is a vegan? That.. seems even more cruel than just changing someone into an animal.
"Really?" She asks, managing a skeptical tone.
Cancer- that makes sense. She'd never thought of that as a side effect of messing with someone's DNA, but now that Joliette mentions it, it's obvious. She makes no comment on the cancer preference. She also stays standing up, looking down at Joliette.. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nods "I was told thats what would happen if we didn't complete the process. Theres other people here further along then I am, I only changed for the first time a few days ago... I've been stuck here for a while now, Ambrose says Moreau had my rental yacht disassembled.. I wouldn't know I didn't see it happen" she looks up at the new girl "What brought you to the island?" Lily Delaney "It's believable," she says, looking out at the ocean again. Other people farther along- how far had people gotten in the months they'd been trapped?
"What are the others turning into?" She asks, decidedly sitting down in the sand once more. She hesitates when asked why she's on the island, her mind going over what she'd thought up.
"I came for a vacation," she explains, looking out at the ocean again, "Nice weather, beaches-" she shrugs, "But- if you're telling the truth, then it's permanent?" Joliette Rigiel "Uhm I've seen a wolf, I think Vasile is becoming a fox of some kind, Hargun is becoming a bat, Alaya is a lizard I think she said Iguana, David is a combonation between tazmannian devil, a bear and a wolverine I believe... Colche I think is a cheetah or a leopard, and Awen something that has to do with water.." she listed off the ones she could think of off the top of her head "I've heard of a snake too... Ambrose has been here for months and he was only supposed to be here a couple weeks I heard, and I was supposed to be here hours and I've been here more then a month, and accordinng to World Weekly News the search for me after I went missing got called off" ok now she was rambling but oh well she got herself to shut up "I'm sorry your vacation has ended up this way" Lily Delaney Lily nods along with the list, and looks back to Joliette. She looks something like surprised and impressed when she mentions the combination of animals that this 'David' is being turned into. She resumes a less surprised expression and follows along with the rest of the list.
That's quite a few people to trick and trap on an island.
'Ambrose,' she repeats in her mind. Someone who'd been here months- would he have been one of the first subjects? What did Joliette say he was turning into? Her mind returns to the conversation when Joliette mentions the search ending and apologizes to her.
She pauses and bites her lip, "There's no way to escape?"
The hope in her voice was completely genuine. Joliette had mentioned prefering the cancer like it would never happen and, though she doesn't notice, it's a convenient question when you don't know what to say to that apology. Joliette Rigiel Joliette shook her head "Not as far as any of us can think of, theres about well my duplex is 27 so at least that many, 28 is my darkroom so I know that one will never have a person in it, he seems to just keep bringing more though" Lily Delaney Lily frowns, "I'm number 31- and I didn't get a good look around but it looks like there's more." She pauses, glancing back the way she'd come to the beach to the general direction of the village.
Just how many people do you need for an experiment?
"You have a darkroom?" She asks suddenly. Joliette had been given a duplex for a darkroom- that seems oddly kind. And the rooms were a fairly big size. Moreau treats the subjects better than he does the staff?? Joliette Rigiel "31? oh geesh means he must have brought 3 new people, I think the count on the duplexes is 50" she pauses looking out at the ocean "Yes, I asked the git.. pardon... Dr. Duvert..." she said the name with very very obvious distaste "... for the ability to continue with my photography and was given that duplex, I had to give a list of all teh equipment I needed and they got it" Lily Delaney The name sounds familiar, Duvert. Obviously one of the staff, and someone important if he had spoken with any of the subjects before. She looks down at her own feet, "Oh."
She pauses.
"So," she hesitates, trying to find the way to word this, "They-- the people who trapped y- us here, they still treat you decently?"
It was a difficult question to word- and she's not the best person for explaining things. Regardless, somehow she doubts they'd agree if she ever got the nerve to ask for anything. Joliette Rigiel "For the most part, parties, christmas stuff, food, clothing, stuff like that, someone here mentioned they try to keep us content, the git likes to torment me, I've quit asking for things from the lab" Joliette plays with the sand with a claw Lily Delaney Lily nods and looks from her shoes to the ocean. Alright, keeping people content is a good thing- it could be worse when you experiment on someone. With nothing else to say she watches Joliette's claw in the sand.
She sighs. Joliette Rigiel "When did you get here?" she asks curiously, she knew the woman had been there on vacation, or least thats what she said, something she couldn't hardly imagine was this place as a vacation place... She hadn't seen her before, though that shouldn't shock her she hadn't met several of hte islanders Lily Delaney "Just yesterday," she glances back to Joliette's face. Wow, she'd had a lot of time to be blissfully ignorant, had it been true that she was on vacation.
"But I didn't really get out and about," she continues, looking out to the water, "Maybe that's lucky- some of the others must look more startling than you do." Joliette Rigiel "It didn't really phase me at first, I thought everyone was just actors in costumes, I had been told this was a movie in production, that Vasile DiRossi faked his own death so that his next movie would be very big... I suppose i'm just a gullable journalist.. Don't be too surprised, there are all sorts of people here" She looked from the ocean over to the girl Lily Delaney "Oh?" she thinks about this, costumes and a movie set was an interesting way to look at it, "Well, you shouldn't feel that gullable- there are 30 other people here too."
She nods slowly, looking down the beach, "I guess I should have questioned a vacationing spot that has a lab on it."
This is getting more difficult. Lily sighs loudly, thinking about what this entire conversation means- it's accepting that she can't leave here, that she is going to be turned into an animal, and that someone she cost a lot of money and made very angry is in control of it all. Joliette Rigiel "I suppose you have a point there" she nods and then chuckles softly "I doubt the lab was advertise in the brochure, so you can't be all to blame... Did you get their 'immunization'?" course she did, the doc aparently let noone go without, not even those who turn them down, and she found that out the hard way. Lily Delaney Lily smiles softly, "No, I don't believe it was."
She hesitates at the question, lifting a hand to the arm that had felt funny when she'd woken up in her duplex. She could certainly assume she had gotten it, even if she hadn't been awake for it.
"Yes," she answers, "I didn't question that either. I suppose it's not an immunization?" Joliette Rigiel "Not from what I heard, I didn't even know I got it till Amaya mentioned to look at my arm, I'd gotten sick in the git's office and passed out on the way to see the medical area in the lab and I woke up in my duplex." Joliette sighed "Well I certainly hope your time here goes better then mine" she moved to stand her tongue flicked as she did Lily Delaney Wow, that sounds rather familiar.
"That must have been.. interesting," she says with a sad sort of smile. She watches as Joliette moves to stand, and flicks her tongue again.
"Thanks, I guess," she replies, not sure what to say to that, making no motion to get up. Joliette Rigiel "Not really, but it brought me closer to David in a way... I'm going to head back I think, I came out mainly to sit in the sun, it was nice meeting you though, I'm listed in 27 but you would be more likely to find me in the darkroom or in 25 where I'm staying with David if you want to find me" she said looking down at the new girl with a weak smile Lily Delaney Lily nods, looking up at Joliette, "It was nice to meet you too. I'm in 31 if you happen to want to find me, too." She glances at Joliette's feet, then back to her eyes, "T-thank you for telling me. It can't be easy trying to tell people that." Her tone is sincere, though the relief that she doesn't have to act ignorant doesn't show. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "It's not, especialy if you haven't changed yet, first person I told didn't believe me, oh well I suppose I can't blame them at all. Enjoy the view" she said and then with a wave of her hand headed back to the village Lily Delaney "No," Lily agrees- if she didn't know beforehand, then she would have thought Joliette was joking or crazy.
"Goodbye," she says softly, looking back to the water and waving vaguely in Joliette's direction. Now she can sit and stare at the water, with more information, with no way to deny where she is anymore.
She sighs.

Meeting Cass Joliette Rigiel Joliette thought about the encounter she had jsut had with Lily, something seemed a little odd about it but Joliette didn't know what.. She wandered back towards the village along the path from the beach staring at the ground her tongue flicking out and in as she moved bringing her plenty of scents which she was trying to ignore, she was also debating food or home to 25... Cassidy Smith Cassidy was headed the other way. In a better mood than was usual for her these days, she was stumping along on her artificial legs, clutching a book to her chest, and wishing she could whistle, because it was a whistling sort of moment. Unfortunately, not only had she only ever been barely able to whistle, she couldn't do it at all with fangs and a forked tongue. An absent-minded tongue flicker brought the scent of something... well, vaguely reptilian, and unfamiliar. Cass looked up and saw Joliette; she tilted her head. Someone else with a repilian serum. Joliette Rigiel The scent of another human... or part human was something Joliette didn't ignore. She looked up and saw the other female ahead of her, "Uhm... Hello" she said in greeting, her eyes took in the amount of scales and the tail, definetaly retile, but feathers?? She walked towards her curiousness in her mind more then anything Cassidy Smith "Hi." Cassidy, still riding her little cheery high, grinned around a mouthful of fangs. This person was, upon closer inspection, some sort of lizard, it would seem. Claws were there, after all... not another snake. She was almost disappointed. It would have been nice to have a kindred spirit. But, really, that was selfish. She shifted her book to the other arm. "I'm Cassidy. You been here long?" Joliette Rigiel "Cassidy.. oh! you are the one Ambrose and Hargun have mentioned in the past, it's nice to put a face to a name... I'm Joliette, I've been here uhm since the beginning of November" she extended a hand to Cass as she spoke, her thick British accent easily distiguishable even if her name was distinctly french Cassidy Smith "That long? I guess I have been a bit of a shut-in lately. Nice to meet you." She looked vaguely embarrassed at having been worthy of discussion from other people. She took Joliette's hand, and shook it rather gingerly. Come on, Cass. Don't be silly. She has scales too, right? Yeah. Joliette Rigiel "Oh don't be hard on yourself, theres I don't know about 30 people here I think and I have only met about two thirds of them" She shook her hand back wondering if she should be... gentle the way her hand was taken Cassidy Smith Claws. She may be in the process of losing her legs, but she wouldn't have to worry about claws. Little things. Cass was trying desperately to hold onto her good mood. "I'm not sure I've even met that many. I mean, for a while, I hardly went anywhere. Ever." She grimaced. "It was... well, really, I'd only found out about what was going on here a day or two before. Not much time to adjust, eh?" Joliette Rigiel Joliette pulled her hand away "must have been lonely, I'm not fond of closing myself up anywhere unless it's the darkroom, like I did the day before last. No I still don't think I've adjusted so I suppose I can see where you come from there... How long have you been here?" Cassidy Smith A pause. "Since August." Had it been that long? Oh, wow, was that depressing. "So about four months." She shrugged, and her feathers ruffled. Cassidy waved a hand vaguely. "A darkroom? You're into photography, then?" Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "I was a photographic journalist, now I am just a photographer. Thats kinda how I wound up here, I was on the hunt for the truth behind the disappearances in the area, or more rather I was searching for Vasile, I didn't believe his death to be real, and wanted to expose that... I didn't count on coming across an island" Cassidy Smith "Oh." That one syllable falls from Cassidy's mouth rather heavily, and she looks away. For a moment, she can't say anything, just shakes her head. It was definitely easier to thing of Vasile as being, well, just plain Vasile, rather than being that-movie-star-her-sister-had-liked-so-much. "And they didn't let you leave? Am I right?" She sighed. The question was practically rhetorical. What else would they do? It was frustrating, though, that the press had come so close to finding them. Joliette Rigiel "Fraid not, the git tricked me ashore, promised a exclusive, one thing led to another and I passed out" she shook her head "I suppose though my stay here hasn't been entirely bad, it brought me out of my shell a little, no pun intended there... And I finally let myself love someone..." she smiled at that thought Cassidy Smith Cass grinned. "Well, that's good. I'm happy for you." Quick, silver lining... what was good about this for her? "I suppose it hasn't been all bad here... it's nice and tropical and stuff... I'm at least slightly over my fear of snakes. And I've had my own romantic involvements." Which was... oh yes. The man they'd just been talking about. Cass coughed. When exactly did she turn from geek to groupie? Joliette Rigiel "I suppose it's hard not to start to get over that fear if thats what you are becoming. I'm glad you found romantic involvement here too, better then nobody." she nods "I suppose nice and tropical is better then foggy and bleak." her tongue flicked and she sliently wished she could control the stupid thing Cassidy Smith Watching Joliette's tongue made Cass want to do it herself, and the harder she tried not to, the more she wanted to. She allowed herself a flicker. "I miss the snow. I bet that back home they're just buried in snow. Two feet of snow, and -20 Celsius, and..." Cassidy shook her head. If she were in the snow.... heck, she could hardly stay in an air conditioned building for long. "Um... oh well." Joliette Rigiel "Yeah? Where are you from?" she asked curiously that much snow... it had to be northern somewhere... She hoped the question wasn't too sensitive with Cass. She saw Cass's tongue flicker and couldn't help but sympathize Cassidy Smith "Vanderhoof. It's this little town in Canada. Out west." Five thousand people, and that horribly stupid goose-shaped sign outside city limits. She never thought she'd miss that stupid goose sign, but she almost did. God help her if she ever started missing the giant ugly log man in Prince George. Cassidy shrugged. "I... you probably haven't heard of it. Hardly anyone in Canada's heard of it, I think." Joliette Rigiel Joliette frowned, she's only been to the east coast of the North Amaerican continent "I'm afraid I've not... I've not been very far west, I'm from Britain, well... originally from france but that was a long time ago" Cassidy Smith Cass nodded. "That's neat," she said, genuinely. "I... don't know what it's like in Europe... I hadn't done a lot of travelling at all before I came here." Joliette Rigiel "I suppose for me it's par the norm, but then I'm used to it. I did only enough travelling to get the scoops I needed, the yacht trip that brought me here was the longest duration of a trip I'd ever taken" She smiled softly "I suppose for us now though the trip is the adventure, and the adventure is what our lives will unfold for us..." Cassidy Smith Cass grinned. "Yeah. Yeah, something like that." Her stomach growled suddenly, audibly, and she looked a bit embarrassed. "I'm... going to have to head off to the cafeteria. I was going to grab some supper... It was nice meeting you, though." Joliette Rigiel "Yes it was nice to finally meet you, I'm in well, technically 27 but you are more likely to locate me in 28 or 25 if you want to.. enjoy your meal Cass" she hoped that wouldn't be taken wrong, she didn't know Cass's previous eatting habits Cassidy Smith "I will. See you round." Cassidy grinned and headed off, her good mood still present, and her tail twitching slightly behind her.

Chana's Changes & Holidays Joliette Rigiel Joliette stopped in front of the building on her way back from having met Lily and Cass. She looked up... Chana's place... it made her wonder what on earth had gotten into the girl that she would swear at her, but then if she had had an arguement with the tattoo woman, she could hardly blame her...
After a moment's hesitation Joliette clumped up the steps and stopped in front of Chana's door, she hesitated and then knocked... what was the worst that could happen to her... get sworn at again?? Chana Cohen Chana was busy reducing a pillow to shreds. Her new claws made it easier than she'd like to admit. Even so, she was rather calm when there was a knock on the door.
Had someone ever knocked on her door before? She didn't think so. So...she went to answer it.
Chana opened the door a crack. "Yes?" she asked, trying to ignore the scent-laden breeze that swept inside. Joliette Rigiel Joliette looked at her, something didn't quite seem the same, "Uhm... hello Chana..sorry for disturbing you..." she wasn't sure quite how to act around her after her last encounter, and even the encounter before that with her Chana Cohen Chana chewed on her lower lip...Joli might notice that her buck teeth seemed larger. "You're not really disturbing me..."
If anything, Chana had probably disturbed her poor downstairs neighbor more than once. She sighed. "I should apologize for yesterday. I didn't mean to swear at you..." She shot a quick look back into her duplex.
"...you might as well come in," she said, stepping aside and pulling the door next to her and open. No way was she going to simply stand in the doorway. Joliette Rigiel "If you had a fight with tattoo girl I can't blame you I suppose... she tried to beat me up" Joliette blinked as the door opened, woah, the girl had much larger teeth then before, her eyes looked over Chana's face as the door opened "Oh no.. I'm sorry Chana.. she slipped in the room and out of the door, knowing the desire to not stand in open if possible only too well Chana Cohen "Antony," Chana automatically supplied the tattoed woman's name as she shut the door. She didn't really want to think about the woman...didn't really want to think, and didn't really want Joliette's sympathy.
"'snot like you had anything to do with it," she half-muttered, trying to sweep up the shredded remains of the pillow with a hand. Anything to avoid meeting Joliette's eyes. She was half-regretting letting the other woman in already. Joliette Rigiel "Very true, but I'm sorry anyways... for all of us" she looked around the room her eyes landing on the many different signs of Chana's faith "Oh, I didn't realize you were jewish" she said her eyes landing on each thing, but then she hadn't really understood Chana's shirt in teh past "I'm sorry if my christmas present offended, I would have dropped it off differently if I had known" she tried to change the topic, Chana obviously didn't like the other, and Joliette seriously could not blame her in the least. Chana Cohen "My mother is Jewish, my father is Jewish, I am Jewish," Chana quoted, a small smile coming to her face as she looked up. "I'm used to the fact that Christianity is the most popular religion in much of the world."
That reminded her...the candle holders needed to be cleaned out. Why the wicks were continually remaining was a puzzle Manischewitz needed to figure out. A toothpick was pulled from a drawer and Chana set to work on the hannukeah. "I didn't actually bring this...Dr. Duvert was able to get it for me. I completely forgot I'd be here for Hannukah," she commented as she worked. Joliette Rigiel "The git got it for you, well that was kind of him... for once, seems like he just likes to pick on me... I suppose you figured out this isn't a camp now..I hadn't meant to offend you back then either..." She looked around and then took a seat on a chair watching Chana clean the item Chana Cohen "Git? He didn't seem so bad...and yeah...it was pretty easy to figure it out." She frowned as a particularly annoying bit of wax refused to budge. A little teasing...there.
"I just didn't really want to admit it. I didn't actually, until yesterday." The last was said a bit heatedly, and the toothpick snapped in two. Chana tossed it deftly into a nearby wastebasket and snagged another to finish the job. Joliette Rigiel "Someone who isn't so bad wouldn't give clothing that disolves... but I suppose thats besides the point..." she watched the curly haired female picking at the wax and observed her changes. She didn't want to mention Chana's claws mught be easier then a toothpick. "I'm glad you were able to get what you needed to celebrate your holiday.." she still felt somewhat awkward around her Chana Cohen "He did that? Must have a pretty sick sense of humor," Chana mused, fishing the last bit of wax out with an expression of triumph.
"If I'd been thinking straight, I would've asked for Shabbat candles and a Havdalah candle," she replied. "Then again...Havdalah's most fun with other people and someone who knows how to play guitar." She stopped, realizing that Joliette must be completely lost.
"Shabbat's the day of rest, sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Havdalah ends Shabbat. It's best the way the camps do it; everyone in a circle and at least one person on guitar," she explained. Joliette Rigiel "Yeah? sounds like it would be fun, though I'm not entirely understanding why you have to have candles to celebrate it...." she leaned her albows on her knees as she spoke and played with her own claws
"After all does the lord need us to have mortal possessions? It's not like we take those things with us when we pass and continue on to join him" at least these were her beliefs even though her mama and papa didn't always seem to believe that true Chana Cohen Chana stopped and smiled. "Y'know...I'm not really sure why the candles myself. Especially since there's so many throughout the religion. Maybe it's a way of remembering the burnt offerings that...ah...fell out of style," she thought out loud. It wasn't something she'd ever thought about. She'd always accepted that certain candles were lit at certain times.
"Maybe not in the end...but one of the ten main commandments is to honor the Sabbath. By this day and age, that means lighting the candles," Chana replied with a shrug. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "So do you burn candles every sabbath the whole year through? or just the ones around the holidays?" she was curious, sure this religion was not her own... but it never hurt to know about someone you'd be spending the rest of your life around Chana Cohen "Every week," Chana confirmed. "In fact, they should be lit before the Hannukah candles," she added. It might seem like a bit of random trivia...somehow everyone always asked her which was lit first. She accepted the fact that people were intensely curious creatures, and that people liked to see how different lifestyles compared to their own. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nods "I see, what else do you do.. besides prayers that is" she knew there were many prayers in every religion. Besides that it seemed like a good way to get to know Chana, talk about something that Chana appeared to have interst in and cared about Chana Cohen "What do you mean, what else do I do? Do you want me to list the holidays? The basics? There's a lot of things either way." Chana scratched her head, uncertain what to say.
"Well...there's usually a morning and an evening service each day. Torah is read on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Saturday evening is the Havdalah service--it's the shortest of the lot. Probably because Saturday morning is the longest. Haftarah is also read--that's readings from Isaiah and such, written in a time when Torah was banned. That service traditionally ends with Kiddush and Motzi and everyone goes to have lunch." Chana glanced over to Joliette. Was that too detailed? Joliette Rigiel Joliette blinked, she had no idea what the Torah was exactly.. "Anything else fun sounding? Like activities kinda thing?" she asked sheepishly, she wasn't one who liked to sit through prayers Chana Cohen Chana blinked. Oh. Different kind of information. Fun. Well...it always depended on your interpretation...
"I suppose the most fun holidays are Purim and Simchat Torah. Purim's usually in March, and it celebrates the Jews not being exterminated thanks to Queen Esther's wits. That service is fun because you're supposed to "boo" whenever the name Hamen is read. And you dress up. And I think you're supposed to get drunk." Chana shook her head remembering.
"Simchat Torah is the last day of Sukkot, the harvest festival...so it's usually in late October. That's when the scroll is held high, danced with, and rerolled. Deuteronomy is finished and Genesis is begun again." She shrugged. That's what the most basic "fun" was. There were always embellishments though...a 6'4" male cantor dressed up as Glinda the Good Witch of the North came to mind. Joliette Rigiel Joliette smiled softly and nodded "Those sound fun and amusing, I could only imagine the raucus made with the booing. Outside your faith what do you like to do?" ok she was curious she'd admit, but perhaps if she got to know Chana, she wouldn't run from Joliette after two moments every time they encountered each other Chana Cohen Chana laughed, really starting to relax around Joliette. The woman really wasn't so bad...
"I don't know if you'll believe me, but I don't do much outside of my faith. I've been a youth director, a counselor, an assistant unit-head..." she grinned broadly. This was just the stuff since highschool. Joliette Rigiel "I dont know how you could call that not much of anything" Joliette paused "After all you are touching the lives of others. A youth director? sounds to me like you like working with people, coordinating things and helping them. Thats hardly nothing.." Chana Cohen "But you said outside my faith. I was a temple youth director. Yeah I touched lives...I hope I made a difference." Chana shrugged. There was a lot more paperwork and phone calls involved than kids...except where it was possible and encouraged to have the kids do the work. Joliette Rigiel "Sometimes I think even the things that are supposed to involve people have the most paperwork of all. I don't really know, I stuck myself into photography and journalism, and stayed there, well pretty much till I got trapped here" she smiled weakly "David.. Chubbs... he worked with kids he tried to keep them off the streat and teach them new things, he was coming here to raise money for them, to build a new gym..." Chana Cohen "I think paperwork is the bane of most existences," Chana commented. "But that's so sweet...who is...um...Chubbs?" The name sounded familiar...but it was gone again. Chana had the vaguely unsettling feeling that she really should know who this was. Joliette Rigiel "David is your downstairs neighbour" she said with a soft smile "Well one of them, I started living with him a few days ago, about the time I changed... Chubbs is his nickname" Chana Cohen Chana shook her head at herself and rested a hand on her forehead. "Figures. I bet he'll be the last person I meet," she said, side-stepping the fact that Joliette was also living below her. She looked up at the other woman. "Maybe you can tell him I'm sorry if I've woken him up late at night? I really haven't meant to...I've just had trouble sleeping." It felt a little awkward to ask Joliette to take a message like that...even stranger to ask her to take an excuse...but Chubbs had a right to an apology, even if he hadn't noticed. Joliette Rigiel Joliette smiled "I'll tell him, he's a real sweety though, I dont think he has a mean bone in his body... And an apology if the night we changed woke you, we both changed at the same time and I'm afraid we made enough noise that even Hargun heard us from her place" she thought about David's head butting the wall cringing slightly Chana Cohen Chana smiled. "Frankly...I was probably wide awake and blaming the...ah...wildlife. Like I said, my sleeping habits have been horrible since coming here. She didn't know Hargun...and she couldn't say if changing with someone was better or worse than being on her own. It sounded uncomfortable though.
The angle of the sun drew her attention back to the hannukeah. Chana absently started pulling out candles to be lit soon. Joliette Rigiel Joliette's tongue flicked "Unfortunately wildlife is beginning to look like an accurate description... I hope the change wasn't too bad for you" she watched the candles being pulled out and wondered to herself if Chana needed solitude for her lighting of them Chana Cohen Chana shivered slightly at the memory of the previous night. "Kindly don't mention that again...I've no need to live it twice." She peered out the window. Eh...dark enough.
"Want to help me light the candles?" she offered. Not that she needed help...but Joliette had seemed interested enough. Joliette Rigiel "Point taken" she said simply with a nod "Uhm ok sure" she hoped she had enough dexterity to do it properly Chana Cohen "Here." Chana pressed a candle into Joliette's hand. "That's the shamash, it's the one we use to light all the others and it goes in the highest holder." She indicated said holder.
"Now. Loading the candles, if I remember correctly, is from left to right." Chana deftly fit the candles in the holders, skipping the shamash. "And then we say the prayers, light the shamash, and light the candles from right to left, okay?" It was simpler than it sounded...once you got the hang of it. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded holding hte candle trying to be careful not to get it with her sharp claws. "All right, sounds easy enough..." Chana Cohen "All right then." Chana smiled and started the prayers. There were only two, but she sang them, softly and a bit flat. No one was perfect, after all.
"Baruch atah adonai, eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kidshanu b'mitzvotav, vitzivanu, l'hadliknair, shel Hannukah.
Baruch atah adonai, eloheinu meleh ha-olam, she-asah nisim lavoteinu, bayamim, haheim, bazman ha-zeh."
Chana smiled again and nodded to Joliette to light the candles. Joliette Rigiel Joliette hoped she had interpretted the girl's intentions of the nod and remembering what Chana said slowly lit the candles being careful not to drop the candle she held and soon they were all burning merrily, she looked at Chana not certain if she was supposed to put the candle she held in the middle and indicated that question with a guesture of pointing at the candle then the spot with a questioning expression on her face Chana Cohen "Allow me, I've had practice at this." Chana gently took the candle from Joliette and fitted it into its spot.
"There. I always like watching the candle flames," she said quietly. Joliette Rigiel Joliette readily gave up the candle, the space between the ones burning made her a lil nervous with her less dextrous and very much more clawed fingers "They seem happy dancing at the end of thier individual whicks" Joliette nodded her agreement for the time being what was around her was forgotten, or at least pushed to the back of her mind Chana Cohen Chana cocked her head slightly. "Kinda funny that you'd say it like that...one Hannukah song has a verse that starts "dance little candles to and fro"...'course I can't remember the rest." She snickered at her own inability. Joliette Rigiel "Too bad I have no access to the internet here, the words are probably online, I somehow doubt they'd be in my comprehensive encyclopedia, could be but I doubt it" she leaned on her knees again looking at the candles and then Chana Chana Cohen "The song's called Eight Little Candles, if that helps," Chana added.
"I've got to admit...I really didn't want to answer the door when you knocked. But I'm glad I did. I don't think I've ever spent this long with somebody on this island without hyperventilating or something." Chana rubbed the fur on the back of her neck as she spoke. Joliette Rigiel "I'll take a look on my laptop, you never know maybe it will be there, it's a pretty big encyclopedia after all it's what helped me figure something out recently" she decided not to say what unless she was asked "Hyperventilation isn't good, I'm glad you haven't, I suppose as time passes things become different, Perhaps it was the conversation was more relaxed, away from the main topic of the island, and about something that interested you" Chana Cohen Chana shrugged. "Who knows. All I know is that I'd rather not faint again." Of course she had theories about the fainting and the fleeing...but those were more things she'd rather not think about.
"But it's been quite nice having a good conversation," she added. Joliette Rigiel "I hope for you that you don't either... Do you need new pillows? I stashed the ones from the darkroom in case I wanted extras later" But then she'd stashed quite a few extra bits of equipment from the room when she had torn it apart Chana Cohen "What?" Then Chana remembered her earlier...activity. "Oh...no...I'm good. I think I have another couple around here...and I've made do before. Thanks though." Yeah...she could always put a stack of laundry under her head and never know the difference. Thank you camp? Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "Ok, just thought i'd offer... " she smiled softly and glanced out the window "I should scoot, I need food and then sleep, 'sides David may start looking for me like he did when my birthday started and I got distracted enough in the darkroom not to realize the time" Chana Cohen "Thanks anyway. And thanks for the afternoon." Chana moved over to the door to open it for her guest.
"Birthday? Oh! Happy birthday! Go spend it with your special someone!" Chana winked as she pulled the door open. Joliette Rigiel Joliette followed Chana to the door and smiled "I did... it was yesterday" she smiled at the thoughts of the timee she spent with him "I'll talk to you laters, and have a good eve" she nodded knowing hte soreness Chana would likely feel and silently sent her her sympathies. As she slipped out hte door and down the steps Chana Cohen "Good night!" she called after Joliette, then gently closed the door. Whew. Things hadn't gone too badly at all, all things considered.
Though she'd successfully avoided thinking too much about what had happened to her last night. That was a positive at least. Chana sat down on the bed and contemplated the flames. Tonight they seemed a little brighter.
"Probably just my imagination."

Tensions Antoinette Devereux Perfect timing. Antony had just finished her second cigarette when they arrived at the cafeteria, and she snuffed it out on the door way before she opened the door and strolled in. Sniffing the air as she threw away the butt, she tried to determine the food that they had tonight. Whatever it was, it smelled rather attractive. "No steak," she sighed after her look-see of all the food, but she was only slightly disappointed. Soon she was filling her plate with some chicken, carrots, and some green beans. Passing the salad bar, Antony stopped and eyed the sunflower seeds. They looked really good, and she had never really been much for them or pumpkin seeds. But she couldn't ignore the craving, and before she could contemplate any longer, Antony had a bowl full of them, and as an after thought, some cashews as well. Setting her tray on an empty table first, she then went up to grab a glass of water and some silverware before taking her seat again. Jamal_Reedy Jamal pressed his lips together in annoyance at the declaration of no steak as he moved closer to the food, having paused at the door briefly to take a quick survey of who might be around. Thankfully, there wasn't anyone. That was one good thing, even though the one thing he really wanted, they didn't have out. No hamburger either; looked like poultry would have to do. He heaped his plate thickly with chicken and skimped on the veggies, taking only one spoonful of beans. He also grabbed a pair of dinner rolls that looked semi-decent. Jamal had always and continued to ignore the salad bar, but the deserts got a quick skim over before he grabbed what looked to be a custard of some sort and a few cookies. "I wonda' if this place takes suggestions on what ta cook," he mused aloud as he set his plate across from Antony's, also leaving briefly to acquire a tall glass of milk and the necessary silverware. Joliette Rigiel Joliette finally got tot he point where she couldn't avoid the cafeteria, even though visiting people she knew had given her an excuse to stay away, her stomach now demanded she go. She peered into the cafeteria... oh great... she watched the pair from teh corner of her eye as she wandered in making a bee-line for the food her claws clicking hte lino as she tried to avoid going too close to them Antoinette Devereux "You think they would, considering the... variety of tastes people here have." Antony paused, taking a bite of chicken and then a forkful of greenery. "The sad thing is, I'll never get foreign food again. No Chinese, Thai, Italian..." She groaned pitifully as she continued on, frowing deeply. After a few thoughtful chews, she swallowed and added, "Carrot Top should kidnap someone that cooks at a Chinese take out pace..." Grumbling inwardly as she took a few more bites, Antony heard the door open, but wasn't too interested in whoever it was that came in. That was, until she heard the unmistakable sound of claws clicking against the floor. Nope. Not going to look. Instead, Antony stabbed a piece of chicken and shoved the meat in her mouth. Just in case they wanted to involve her in conversation or something. Jamal_Reedy "Aw s**t, I could go fo' some good Chinese 'bout now," he said wistfully, tearing into a piece of chicken breast. "I ain't had Chinese in a long a** time...coupla months be'fo I ended up herr I had it. Maybe if we ask, they might be able ta' do somethin' 'bout it? They usually real good 'bout gettin' what we want. Ya jus' fill out a request form 'n' they get what ya want if they can. I ain't had no problems wit' it, anyway." As the door cracked open, he glanced over Antony's shoulder to see who it was. Please don't be Ambrose...please don't... The face he saw made his brow furrow instead and his jaw tensed. Oh great...it was Antony's spar buddy. Just lovely. The last thing he wanted to deal with was a fight because he was in a helluva good mood right now. He was somewhat relieved when the girl moved to the food with an air of urgency. Okay, so far, so good. Joliette Rigiel Joliette saw them look at her and heard the conversation stop. She sighed quietly... she made a stop at the salad barr and proceeded to fill a plate with salad then looked around for the ham chunks and was disappointed to only find the poultry.,... "well maybe it''ll be ok under ranch dressing" she mumbled Antoinette Devereux Antony looked up at Jamal when he went quiet, watching his eyes and face for his reaction to the person who just walked in. She frowned immediately and raised an eyebrow questioningly as if to ask him who had just come in. And then he looked... relieved? Antony still didn't dare look. "I'm in too good of a mood for this s**t," she reminded herself aloud in a low voice once she had swallowed the chicken. The poultry was soon replaced with a forkful of carrots. She had a feeling she knew who it was, and didn't quite know how she would react to seeing her again. Jamal_Reedy Jamal looked like he wasn't sure if he should actually say who had just come in...as long as she didn't turn around, she'd be okay. He had a feeling, however, that Joli might be there awhile, unless she took her food back to her duplex so either way, he was sure that the women were going to at least make eye contact at some point. "Yeah and I hope yous stay that way," he said in a level tone, deciding to let the cat out of the bag without saying the photographer's name. "Look, jus' don't say nuthin' if she comes over, a'ight? I really don't wanna get broke again because I gotta step in. She ain't that bad..." He did sympathize with Antony and her determination to not believe or want to face what was supposedly going to happen, but he was selfish in that he didn't want to deal with any battles today. Not after the pleasant past few hours. Joliette Rigiel Joliette doused the salad a lot with the dressing and then picked a nearby table, one a few tables away. She poked at hte salad with her fork she hated tension, and truth be told she'd only faught antony back to defend herself Antoinette Devereux "Thought as much," she muttered with her mouth full. Swallowing, she sighed, nodding in response to Jamal's request, "Then next time pull me apart from behind." In any other circumstance that would have caused her to chuckle, but she didn't even catch the possible double meaning. So she diligently continued to eat, finishing the food on her plate before taking a handful of sunflower seeds and cashews and tossing them back. They seemed to taste better than she remembered. Her eyes accidentally caught sight of Joli when Antony looked up at Jamal to say something, and her stare instantly hardened. Another handful of her 'dessert' and she was pulling out her pack of cigarettes and shaking one out a little more forcefully than was probably necessary. Jamal_Reedy Jamal rubbed at his brow in a "oh great" sort of manner, seeing the very distinct glare and the sudden reach for her cigarettes. At least she hadn't launched herself out of the chair yet.... "Yo," he grunted in Joli's direction, deciding that if Antony was going to be at odds with the brunette, then the least he could do was at acknowledge her presence so she would feel completely hated as she ate her dinner. He offered her a bit of a wave. Joliette Rigiel Joliette looked up at hte sound of Jamal's voice, well that wasn't something she expected to say the least. "Hi Jamal" she replied quietly. She wasn't sure if he was angry still or not as she looked at him and returned the small wave Antoinette Devereux Had she not been too busy lighting up a cigarette, Antony would have given Jamal a reproachful look for 'fraternizing with the enemy.' Maybe the cigarette smoke would irritate lizard girl? It was a hopefully endeavor, and she made sure to blow all smoke in her general direction, munching on handfuls of sunflower seeds between puffs. Now if Jamal only had a blunt hidden away in his pants... Jamal_Reedy He was irritated with her, but not enough to subject her to TWO stony cold demenors. She really wasn't that bad...she gave him bubblewrap afterall. 8D Jamal glanced to check to see how the damage inflicted the other day looked on the other woman's wrist. However, the pungant scent of smoke made him cut the look short. His gaze returned to his tablemate, whom he gave a quizzical look as the smoke was very pointedly being exhaled in Joli's direction. Oh sweet jesus...Jamal had to fight to not roll his eyes. This was still better than her trying to choke the s**t out of anyone. As for the joint, Jamal never left home without 'em. Joliette Rigiel Joliette eyed the oncoming smoke, that in itself didn't bother her, her papa smoked enough. She pointedly ignored the smoke, it could be worse. "Hope you are okay" she said and then looked back down at her salad poking at it and slowly munching on it Antoinette Devereux Her eyes looked up just in time to catch him attempting not to make a face and Antony scoffed, "And how mature would you be if it were Ambrose?" She was quite aware of how immature she was being, but it was making her feel better and that alone was reason for her to continue. Antony shoved another handful of seeds in her mouth so that she didn't make a rude comment. Of course Jamal was 'okay,' he and her both were getting laid, and it was damn good. Finishing her cigarette, she snuffed it out irritably in a lone carrot, feeling a little bit better at the hissing noise it made. She reached for another smoke, glaring at the little package when it produced nothing, not even after a few good smacks on her hand. What a great time to run out of cigarettes. "Hey, you got a smoke? ...Or better yet, some green?" Her eyes glinted eagerly, "Might do a better job calming me down..." Pot always put her in a better mood, and it was damn hard to piss her off when she was high. Double plus. Jamal_Reedy Jamal ignored her little jab, deciding it wasn't worth saying something that might make her mad even if it wasn't intentionally. "I'm a'ight. Don't worry 'bout it," he said in response to Joli while watching Antony beat the s**t out of her empty cigarette pack. At the question of having pot, he made another face. "Girl, I jus' gave you a baggie of it da otha' day..." he said as he leaned to the side to dig into his pocket anyway. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "I am glad" she said and worked at hte salad, she dearly hoped hte woman wouldn't start up a pot smoke, lord knows that could set off the fire sprinklers in the cafeteria. Not to mention she wasn't fond of the smell in the least Antoinette Devereux "Yeah well, I'll replace it later," she grumbled irritably, leg bouncing absently underneath the table. "Or compensate with sexual favors," Antony added gruffly when the pot was not procured instantly, violet eyes watching him like a hawk. The sprinklers, which probably would have gone off already due to cigarette smoke, were the least of her worries right now. Her good mood was slowly being ruined, and she wanted to save what good mood was left. Jamal_Reedy He hadn't meant to irritate her further...it was meant more of a joke than a real reservation against giving her more. He pulled out the tattered bandanna fragment and pulled one of the smooth, white blunts from the few that were left and passed it over the table. "Here," he said with a bit of edge to his tone. s**t, he was going to need one if this kept up. Joliette Rigiel Joliette glanced in the direction of the pair she heard the words said but didn't comment on them, on the same acount she did not want to be caught in the midst of pot smoke. She got up disposing of the last of the salad and the plate. She looked at hte pair, she seriously didn't understand the woman's problem with her. She glanced at Jamal "I've got something more for you that is in my darkroom Jamal... I've told Awen I'll give it to her to drop off to you... Hope you have a good new years" she said quietly and then wandered past them beginning to head for the door Antoinette Devereux The moment it was procured and handed over, Antony lit it and initially took a few long drags. When she saw the lizard girl coming over to their table, she thought it best to add a few more drags to the count. Sighing in content when a pleasant tingle tickled her brain, Antony looked up at Joli and blinked at the blatant name drop. "Who's Awen?" She asked, slinking down lower in her seat when the lizard girl left, and as an after thought, Antony waved back at the girl's retreating form, "Bye bye Gozilla~." Jamal_Reedy Jamal didn't flinch at the name, but he did mentally go "oh ********", forcing his best nonchalant smile. "A'ight...thanks, Joli," he said with a nod, sitting back in his chair, feeling distinctly non-hungry all of a sudden. As Joli wandered away and Antony inquired about the name, he rubbed a hand over his face. Hm...how to explain... He wasn't really worried, persay, since it was obvious that the relationship he had with Antony was basically a friends with benefits one. Awen was his girlfriend (probably until Awen found out about this) and Antony just happened to be a girl who was his friend. It all worked out in his mind. "Well," he began, glancing quickly at door to see if Joli had gone. Joliette Rigiel Joliette disappeared out the door and wandered off to go look for a movie to take back to the duplex

Oh... My... God... Joliette trudged back towards 25 after leaving the entertainment room. She hadn't found anything she particularly wanted to watch, not after dealing with the tattooed woman that Chana called Antony... She couldn't believe the woman had lit up in the cafeteria, and not only a cigarette but also a joint.
With a sigh she decides to go retrieve her ipod.. not the one from moreau, well maybe.. she could give that one to david... she enters #27 and walks over to where the last of her stuff is and retrieves it and a couple things, as she's about to leave again, the rest of her christmas presents catch her eye...
Her hands pick up the ipod which she pockets intending to give it to David, and then picks up the small clay camera and smiles. She loves the fact that her friend had found something she could do without holding a pencil, putting it on top of the pile she was taking to #25 she eyes the last item... The chocolate Santa from Vasile. She picked it up and put down her pile, turning it over and over in her hands she pondered it... Where had Vasile got such a thing... Surely he hadn't expected to be on the island for Christmas...
She frowned trying to remember if there were any at the cafeteria or even the rest of the town hall.. She remembered little ones... vaguely... she picked at the wrapping slightly after inspecting it for tampering and finding none. eventually pulling hte foil wrapping off the top half of the santa. She thought about it... well choclate was made from cocoa beans... and cocoa beans were vegan... oh hell what was she thinking about... she couldn't be called vegan anymore, not with her body nearly demanding the animal substance of her...
She looked at it once more in her hand and took the head in her other hand and tongue partly out she went to break it's head off... She felt too odd biting it, especially with her sharp teeth.. Thick red partially congealed liquid oozed over her hands as santa's head came off it's body. It ran down all side of both of her hands. With a scream she dropped the santa the remainer of the blood oozing out of it and onto the carpet. She stepped back and then made the mistake of flicking her tongue. while a small part of her enjoyed hte scent it brought to her the majority of her still couldn't stand such a scent and before she could go running to the bathroom she threw up, right then and there beside the dropped 'treat'
Tears running down her face she threw up till she didn't think there was anything left to lose and collapsed to the floor on her knees, bloody hands leaving handprints on the carpet where she landed. "Not... Vasile... couldn't... be" she choked out trying her damnedest to keep her tongue inside her mouth... She knew Jamal and her had not been at odds before Christmas... which left only one option... Sabin "STUPIDE CRUEL GORMLESS ARSE" she screamed at the top of her lungs and half stumbling managed to her feet running for the outside, she couldn't handle all the scents now in the duplex...

Goodbye Fooseball Hello Rage(AIM RP Log) Chubbs sat on the edge of his bed, trying to set up the gift he got for Christmas, apart from the glued on beard. The thing was pretty big, but fitted okay in his room. He was trying to work out how the air hokey part worked. Joliette stumbled out of #27 and onto the grass screaming into the night air "Stupide Cruel Gormless Arse" before breaking down once more, she honestly did NOT care who heard her she was far gone on being upset. She knew she had left her other things in the duplex but would have to find a way to get them later
Chubbs hears the cries outside his duplex, it sounded like Joliette alright. He jumped up and headed outside through the door, finding Joliette on the grass in tears. He ran over and skidded onto his knees beside her, immediately putting his arms around her protectively. " What happened?!" Joliette lifted one of her red soaked hands and pointed a claw shakily behind her back into the duplex, she didn't move to touch him she didn't want to get it all over him as well
Chubbs blinked, looking at her hands, he wondered if she had cut herself. When she motioned to her duplex, Chubbs stood up and went inside, expecting someone to be laying on the floor. Instead he found the Santa, the pool of blood and the vomit nearby. Chubbs winced as the smell hit his sensitive nose, it almost made him add to the pile. He thought about what he had heard being yelled out and now realized it was Sabin's foul play. Chubbs stiffened up, he was trying not to move, for if he did it would be right for the labs and trying to kill someone. The feeling was scary, he wanted to tear someone apart. He took a moment to breath and get back to Joliette, someone he should be more worried about. Chubbs took off his shirt and began to clean her hands with it, and tried to get her to stand. " Come on... let's get you clean" She let him lead her to her feet once more and nodded. Her mind had not found words to speak tin reply to his. All she could think of was why the doctor tormented her so terribly.
Chubbs lead her into his duplex and towards the bathroom. He ushered her inside with a small comforting smile. Outside he was all smiles but inside he was another story. He wanted Joliette not to see him if he erupted. " Go wash up and have a drink and wash out ya mouth" Wash up was one thing Joliette couldn't help but agree she needed to do... but having thrown up she felt like she needed more then just a sink. "Take from pocket" she finally managed to find words as she nodded, she intended to shed the clothing she wore, but the one ipod was in her pocket
Chubbs turned the taps on for her, noticing now she didn't want to put her hands on the taps, and then reached into her pockets. He found her ipod, and took it out, putting it on the bench. Chubbs couldn't hold out much longer and crept back to the door. " I'll be back soon to help... I.. I promise" He shut the door behind him as he left She nodded and gave him a weak smile. managing to get the clothing off she climbed in the bathtub. She washed her hands of best she could before turning the shower on and washing herself from head to to even that little nub of a tail she had.
Chubbs as soon as he closed the door lost his smile and latched onto the game table with both hands. Their was a loud thud and a crack as he kicked his foot into the middle and stomped it, the table snapped in half. Chubbs saw the thing as a slap in the face, a thing to buy what little happiness he had. As long as Sabin was here, as long as he was alive, Chubbs wouldn't be happy, He grabbed up half the broken game and went over to the intercom. Again he destroyed it, beating it repeatedly with the table half. He growled and hit harder, even smashing the pieces falling to the floor. He then threw it all, and the table outside he door and into the street, slamming the door after. Chubbs sat there puffing and panting and trying to be calm, wondering what he had done. Joliette heard only some of the crashes, the water from the shower and the closed door made the sounds rather low in tone and she had been finding she could only hear them half the time. Eventually she shut off the water, by then David was done his damage. She wrapped herself in a towel and slowly pulled open the bathroom door after having picked up the small ipod
Chubbs saw the door open to the bathroom and all of a sudden he panicked. There was little soccer guys all over the floor and bits of the table and intercom, he didn't know how to explain it. He turned his back, not wishing to see Joliette's face. Joliette blinked and peered around the room, she stooped and picked up a little white man and trudged over and stood beside him "Well least you took it out on me and not an islander" she said in a slightly silly voice making the man talk and bounce within David's peripheral vision
Chubbs winced when she spoke, he was still agitated and scared. He looked to the floor and quickly grabbed his hand over the one wriggling the little man near his face. His hand shook as it held hers, and he wriggled the little guy from her grip and dumped it on the floor. With that he turned and wrapped her in his arms tightly. " I won't let him touch you" Joliette offered no resistance in taking the little man away from her so that didn't take very long. she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and rested her head on his, "I know love... He just gets me in the little ways... Thankyou for your protection" she had calmed considerably now that her hands were not covered in blood
Chubbs wiped at his eyes, he was ashamed of himself. In the end though, Joliette still cared for him and wasn't afraid. He held her still for a while. " I'm sorry... I ... I just wish I could do something... and and I'm getting so frustrated so easily... and it builds... and I just have to let it out... I can't stop it... it's scary" Joliette nods quietly as he speaks, acknowledging she hears all he says... she couldn't entirely blame the rage, she felt it too, just it seemed to not quite the same degree. She kisses the top of his head with a soft sigh
Chubbs rested his head on her shoulder, running his fingers through her hair. He felt terrible, one for his childish actions and two for the fact that he was the one being comforted and Joliette was the victim. He kissed her head in return and looked down at her. " Are you okay?" Joliette hesitated and then nodded "I think so... I ... don't know that I'll be able to go in there... least not any time soon... not with those scents... I'm just really glad I hadn't bit it" she tells him looking into his eyes
Chubbs combed her hair back with his claws and nodded, taking a long needed deep breath. "Don't worry.. I'll umm.. take care of it" "I think the git should though I doubt he'd bring himself down to the level of cleaning that kind of thing up.." she pulled slightly away "I uhm, was going to give this to you" she said looking at the ipod in her hand
Chubbs looked down at the ipod and blinked, surprised to see the small device in her hands. He took it from her and was a little stunned at first then looked up at her, giving her a smile. He knew it was her second ipod, it was nice of her to give him one. " Thank you... I promise not to ah.. smash this." He smiled lightly and then looked her over " You.. ah should get something other than a towel... not that I'm complaining" She looked down at herself and chuckled "I suppose I should" she said quietly and pulled away walking to where she'd left her clothing, avoiding the broken bits around the room. She pulled out the oversize shirt and let the towel drop before pulling the shirt on. She couldn't believe what the git had done... but then maybe she could
Chubbs tucked the ipod into his pocket and looked around the room, rubbing the back of his head. He did stop to watch Joliette change, he couldn't help it, to him she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. The tail just made her look really cute. Chubbs headed towards the door and looked back to her. " I'll get something to clean up the messes.. I won't be long" Joliette nodded gratefully at him and watched him head out, she couldn't help but be thankful she had met him "Thankyou David" she said quietly even though he was gone from the duplex

Song From the Trees Emerwyn Emerwyn was still in the same state days after the incident. The only times she had come out was to eat. She never went to the cafe anymore. The greens were far fresher in the jungle. She was huddled up by a bush, her favorite one, chewing the leaves from it in a reserved manner. She had not felt sick for the past few days. Then again, she hadn't felt anything. No coherent thought passed through her brain. Only those that instinct required. When she needed to eat, drink, relieve herself, sleep. It was as though she were completely animal. Words rarely passed through her mouth. She reached into her pocket, and pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper. Emerwyn had been cherishing it, pulling it out when the feeling actually came over her to act human. It was only during these times that she vocalized, and when she did, it was soft, sweet singing, and nothing more. Most often, she sang the song that she and Timothy had composed together. But today, new words came out, with a new melody all its own. It was eerie and haunting. And softly though she sang, it seemed to echo through the trees. "In darkest of times In deepest of waters I searched for you in vain. Please show your face to me. The trees, how they feel. My only companions The spririts of the woods Will show your face to me.
Go quick to the wood And hear what it tells you. You'll feel the words they say Reach out your heart to them. I wait for you here Still silent and patient. My heart bleeds not for you But for-"It fades, and the rest of the words she sings are indescernible to any listening ears. She keeps on singing, however, looking at the photograph with distant eyes. Joliette Rigiel Joliette had left hers and David's duplex, she eyed her own duplex, she still didn't want to return to it yet, she had no idea if David had manged to clean it all up or not. she looked at her hands shivering hard at the memory. She had her camera and it's bag by it's strap hanging against her side and had intended to go through the jungle to the cliffs. Her yellow tongue flicked as she trudged barefoot along hte edge of the jungle. Her hearing picked up a little sound, sound that would be foreign tot he jungle and she looked towards it picking up a familiar scent as her tongue returned to her mouth.
She headed in a detour for her friend and soon was looking at her curiously as she stared at the photo. Ok she supposed she could sympathize the look, she'd felt much the same way before her birthday "Hello Emerwyn" she said breaking the... well to her it seemed like silence Emerwyn's words were low in tone and she barely caught snatches of the sound Emerwyn Emerwyn's head turned slowly up to the face she had already identified by scent. She kept singing softly as she looked at Joliette, interperating her features. Finally, she quite zoning, and smiled slowly. "Thank you," was all she said. The photograph Jolie had given her was in her hand. Joliette Rigiel Joliette wandered closer and sat down beside Emerwyn "You are welcome I hope you liked it" she said hearing he voice a lil better now that she was much closer tot he sourse Emerwyn "Yes," she said dreamily, looking back at the photograph, her eyes getting even more lost in the clouded sun. "How do you feel?" she asked, not looking up. She was referring to Jolie's change; it was up to Jolie to figure that out. Joliette Rigiel Joliette shifted her position to get comfortable with that stupid nub of a tail she now had "Emotionally... worn thin... Physically, I'm ok, the soreness went away a few days ago... How about you?" she asked Emerwyn "I understand how you feel..." Emerwyn's ear twitched noticably at Jolie's question. Her brows furrowed, her face finally showing some emotion. "I-I don't know." Joliette Rigiel "Something wrong?" Joliette asked, well it was true she was a good listening, that came with journalism.. Here she only applied it to helping her new friends... She didn't have anything to write for... Emerwyn "Many things... But is it not so with everyone..." It wasn't even put as a question. Emerwyn had not thought about Julian, or Sabin, or Doctor Madison, or Ian at all... Jolie's prescence alone brought back memories of this. Only as her feelings crept back into her did she remember that Joliette had been there that day... She looked at her, and smiled. "You helped me... Thank you." Joliette Rigiel It took Joliette a moment to realize what Emerwyn may have meant "You are welcome Emerwyn, I try and help my friends where possible." she pulls her feet closer to herself so her legs were against her chest and then leaned on her knees. Anyone who had not treated her like shite or tried to beat the crap out of her was a friend in her books Emerwyn Though Emerwyn had been partially unconcious while Jolie had been at Ian's room with them, more memories began to swarm in. They had no images, only voices, and emotions. "All the emotions were high," she said aloud. "You... were anxious... anxious about someone who said he'd help. We heard his voice... His cruelty..." She tried to remember. It seemed more senses had grown in her in her semi-unconcious state. "...you know it well." Her eyes pierced Jolie's. Joliette Rigiel Joliette started "Sabin.. the git... yeah I'm very familiar... moreso then I'd like to be" she shuddered thinking silently of his latest torment towards her "I do not trust him at all" Emerwyn "No... I am glad my health wasn't placed in his hands..." "He is different... from Moreau. His cruelty runs deeper." Emerwyn looked, concerned, at Jolie's face. Her voice became less detached, more human, much more intense. "What has he done to you?" For some reason, she was growing highly passionate over whatever evils had befallen Joliette. Joliette Rigiel "What has he done? well theres been this.." she motioned to herself her yellow tongue flickering "And green hair, and slags clothing and clothing that dissolves, and the darkroom stuff dropped across the village instead of the darkroom, and a chocolate santa filled with blood... " she couldn't think of anything else just that very second. Emerwyn Emerwyn's deer-hair rose on the back of her neck as Jolie ranted about Sabin's escapades. "Simple foolery that grows more malignant with each passing day... I'd watch out." She felt a heavy foreboding. Joliette Rigiel "He gets me when I least expect it, when I'm just starting to think he's leaving me alone" she sighed "I think Moreau isn't much better, though his ownly action was to send me all the World Weekly News magazines that have been published since I left Britain, all of them had stories about me in them... Some Christmas present" she rolls her eyes Emerwyn "What does one who is pure of heart do when surrounded by so much evil and greed?" And, as if answering her own question, Emerwyn continued, "I have heard it said, that good, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant." Joliette Rigiel Joliette thought about Emerwyn's words. "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant. .... Martin Luther King Junior" she murmured. She smiled softly "You know Emerwyn, it's a good way to think about it... That didn't really even occur to me, I suppose Christmas and finding out what I am to become, coupled with the magazines and my birthday made me lose track of that fact..." Emerwyn Emerwyn smiled. She felt like one wandering through hellish wastelands, surrounded by devils, only to find one more angel. "And wise words they are." She was also glad that someone else was well-read. Or at least, knew enough about the good people of the world. She sighed, and leaned back against a tree, humming softly her song. Joliette Rigiel She nodded feeling a little more positive about her day now "I have to agree." she grew silent listening to the tune her friend hummed, or at least the snatches of it that she did get. She scratched one shrunken earlobe slightly, "Nice tune" she muses Emerwyn "Oh, ... why thank you. But I'm not sure I should take credit for it. The trees taught it to me. The words are the only part that are my own." She took no heed to how odd she may have sounded, saying what she said. Because she meant it. Joliette Rigiel Joliette blinked and looked up at the tree then back at Emerwyn, her yellow forked tongue flicked as she did "Okay..." that truely did confuse her but oh well "I"m catching only snippets of it, but what I have heard is very nice" Emerwyn Emerwyn sighed softly. Of course, she didn't get it. Emerwyn herself wouldn't have only a few weeks ago. "I apologize. I have been musing in my solidarity lately. It truly is healing to do so. My confusion runs deep, and while this doesn't bring me many answers, it clears my mind of my troubles." Joliette Rigiel "It's ok Emerwyn, I suppose we all have different ways with dealing with it... easiest way for me to forget my problems is to lock myself away in the dark room" Joliette glanced in the direction of the duplexes Emerwyn "This is true... I used to find my solace in books. And now I am only so limited to do so. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not..." Emerwyn's eyes followed Jolie's. She absorbed her emotions. ... a wistful longing? "Is there something right now that you desire?" Joliette Rigiel "Hmm? No not really, besides to be normal and go home." She leaned on her knees, "Moreau got involved in the search for me by the mainland, my hope for ever getting away from here is basically non-existant now, though at the same time I've been encouraged to not let that hope go" Emerwyn that hope...Whatever hope remained in Emerwyn was slowly being destoyed by the image in her mind. If Jerrick was willing to move on... But it was still there, and hearing of this hope in others helped to rekindle it within her. "You are not wrong to hope. After all, it is the only thing we have left. The hour is at hand When darkness fills the land But fear you push aside When Hope in you abides..." She quoeted a little poem she had written long ago, before the words had any meaning to her. Joliette Rigiel Joliette nodded "Well Emerwyn, I"m glad you liked the photo... I want to get some photos before the sun is gone.. I shall talk to you soon yes?" She moved to stand up as she spoke to her friend Emerwyn Emerwyn barely noticed, so caught up she was. However, she smiled at Jolie, as though these were all words enough. Joliette Rigiel Joliette smiled and wandered off in the direction of the cliffs once again with a wave to her friend Emerwyn Emerwyn tilted her head back again, her face to the high branches of the trees. She smiled, and sang once again. The leaves rustled in tune with her voice.

Photos at the Cliffs Joliette left Emerwyn thinking about the conversation wit hte woman. She couldn't help but return her mind to the quote from Martin Luther King Jr. He was so very correct...
Uppon arrival of the cliffs Joliette put down her camer and it's bag and pulled equipment out, a few rolls of film waited in the bag, a couple different lenses including her nightvission lense, she wanted to get away from her problems and figured a few hours of photograghing might do just that.
She pulled out her laptop and opened it pulling it from sleep mode. She had on it a list of different scenes she wanted to have images of. Sitting down on the clifftop she started snapping photos, and she kept doing it well after dark.
Soon she was walking, or rather trudging along the path heading 'home' the camera and the bag slung over her shoulder, it was late she knew it but didn't care...

That night, at 3am on the dot, there is a LOUD sound of an explosion, originating from the sky above the Island. Looking out, or anyoune outside would look up to see a brief fireball in the sky. Following that, any power that is on begins to flicker, going through a few brownouts before finally shutting down altogether. If you happen to be awake at that point - you would notice all the lights around you, any electronic equipment that wasn't battery operated flicker and die. However, within a few seconds of the final powersurge and failure, you find yourself being pulled into a forced unconsciousness.
When you wake up, it is midafternoon the following day, though it would vary within a few hours depending on the individual. You are NOT in your duplex. You wake up to find yourself .... surrounded by water. The water probably wakes you up more than anything else. As your awareness comes back, you realize that you're off the Island! .... Sort of. You're lying on a large... panel. Emblazoned across the white material below you is "Princess" .... you realize that it is a piece of your boat that you heard had been dissassembled. When you look up - the shore of the Island is no more than a few hundred feet away. Everywhere else is a wide stretch of blue. You have no paddle. You have nothing but what you went to sleep in.
All of the buildings on the island are in 'shutdown' mode. This means that everything is locked tight. If you attempt to force your way into any of the buildings, your own duplex and the Town Hall included, then you will find that from the outside at the very least, they are impenetrable. If any window was broken - it is now fixed. All of the lights are off - in every building. Even the electric fence surrounding the main laboratory is turned off - though still closed. Attempts to break into the main complex will be met with equal lack of luck as breaking into a duplex or the town hall.
The only items you have on you are the items that you would have been wearing when you were asleep/fell unconscious: including clothing and perhaps a few battery-powered electronics IF You would have been wearing them. That's it. Everything else is where you left it - if it was in your duplex, it still is and you can't get to it.
There is no sign of what happened to the staff. The labs are quiet from the outside.
Welcome to the Wild.

The Explosion... and the... Raft? She was nearly back to the village when she felt more then heard the explossion. She looked up in surprise and lifted hte camera in her hand to take a single photograph before stuffing it in her bag and trying to run for the village. She had barely made it 5 feet before she felt the pull of unconsciousness and fell to the ground... (( to the yacht piece )) Joliette came to with a groan, the warm sun's rays beating down on her body... she didn't open her eyes, she liked that warmth... She only opened her eyes when the sounds of water triggered in her mind.. Wait the sun? She hadn't remembered the SUN coming up, nor the sound of water... She lifted and turned her head and had to take a double take...
Open water... on all sides of her... she peered around, she was dressed exactly as she had been on the isle, camera bag and all. "What the..." she finally sat up and looked arund more to take stock of her situation... ocean on 3 sides of her... the island several hundred feet away on the 4th.. Eventually she looked down and the sight that met her eyes made her hands shake there emblazoned in it's navy blue text... Princess
It took her a good 10 minutes before she found the irony of the situation... They had given her a way off the isle... That was...well she couldn't have wound up there on THAT item by pure chance and accident. The piece of hull wasn't small it was large, and thick... Simply an ideal size... for a raft...
