Kai smiled sweetly and took a step closer to the girl, "Tomoro...That is a pretty name...I am Kai Togamaki..." He extended one of his hands after switching his book to under his staff arm. He kept smiling and left his hand there as his brown eyes wandered over to the flower, "I see...So in other words...The plant will die...and the Earth will probably never see one again...Space exploration is a very touchy subject for astronomers...And chances are that this is the only plant of that species...So...we should try and study it as much as we can so we will always remember it..." He looked back at the girl that was able to control the earth and blinked, eyes wandering to her arm, "Umm...Is there...a reason you are hiding that...number?..." Kai had never been the one to judge people just by having numbers on their arms. He always liked to be friends with people, even though he was good nor evil. He could go to either side if he wished to. He had friends that were both good and evil and both sides had wanted him for his healing techniques. So the healer decided to remain neutral in all of the battles so he could help both sides. But the conflicts tore at him on the inside and he wanted to be on one side for good, and not in the middle. But being neutral would have to wait for now as his deep brown eyes remained on the girl's eyes. He was wondering why she seemed so...uncomfortable around him, "I...do not bite..." His face grew solemn as his hand remained outstretched from his body, waiting for the girl's own hand.

Tomoro squeezed Sachi's hand tightly, and looked back at Kai. "T-thank you..." She clenched her one visible eye shut, and then opened it up again, gazing into the boy's deep brown eyes. "I... I don't know what it is... but... it's a serial code..." Do not look at him. Do not tell him. This boy knows nothing, and it would be cruel of you to bring him in to your past. He's just a simple healer, and hearing stories of death would hurt him. You can't tell him your past, Tomoro. You can't. Only Bukotsu and Sachi should know. "It's... a long story.. one from my past.." Tomoro looked over to the plant, and sighed lightly. "Such a simple plant... normally nobody ever notices it; I'm surprised you did. Of course, I can feel all the vibrations of plants in here, but that's besides the point."

Tomoro gulped slightly, the only hand open to take his grasp was her right hand, the one with the markings. Sachi held the other one. Hesitantly, Tomoro lifted up her right hand, bracelets jingling slightly, like a bell. She extended her fingers and took his grasp softly, shaking it for a few seconds before letting go, a slight red tint forming on her face. His hand is so soft... Bukotsu's hand is so rough compared to his... he probably thinks I'm a freak. He has a right to, too... but... at least I met somebody who understands that plants are important in this world. "I'm... sorry if I seem distant."

Kai smiled sweetly and set his staff and book down on the ground carefully, not to cause any disturbance in the room. When he stood up again he hugged Tomoro gently, "You seem very nice...I'm glad I met you..." When he pulled away, his face was crimson and he quickly looked at the flower again, but closer so Tomoro couldn't see his face. His sparkling brown eyes examined every small detail of the plant, starting at the blossom, going down the stem to the leaves, then down to the base of the stem where it plunged into the soil. For a boy of sixteen, Kai was somewhat small for his age. His slender build seemed to disappear in his clothes as he stood there, his right side facing the girl. His left hand went to the flower's petals again and he gently caressed them. They felt so smooth and untouched by society's cruel blows to nature. His eyes closed slightly as he sighed, "Why...does everyone seem to look down upon the plants?...Without them...Thousands...no millions...of people would have died...Plants are the foundation of modern medicine...Yet everyone seems to want to destroy anything green that gets in their way..." He faced the girl again, his face was back to its pale self, "Why is that?...I want to know why people do not care as much as they used to..." There was a slight frown upon his face and a few strands of dirt-colored hair fell in front of his eyes, concealing parts of them.

Tomoro's visible eye widened as he hugged her, and she smiled at the boy, though her eyes still showed hints of distrust within them. Such a young boy... he doesn't look much older than me. Strange how having a different life can affect a person so much. She looked down at the plant, sighing softly, squeezing Sachi's hand. "Sachi... why don't you go pick a few flowers? You could make a flower rainbow!" She turned and smiled at Sachi, letting go of her hand. Tomoro pushed her hair back behind her ear, revealing her ruby earring, and gazed down at the plant. "Humankind... once lived along with plants. They were kind, and in exchange for living peacefully, humans were able to bask in the shade and pick flowers... but now, people tearing down forests, mowing over grass, natural disasters... it won't be much longer for them. Even now... a thousand miles away, I can hear a plant's crying out for help.... as it's plucked from the ground..." Tomoro brought up her hand, and sniffed slightly.

"There's... nothing people like you and I can do but watch this Earth be torn apart..." A few tears fell to the ground. Talking about the fate of plants had always caused Tomoro to cry, even when she was a little girl. Why, she had spent her life around them, they were her only friends until now. Tomoro brushed her skirt down, and ran her fingers through her silver hair. "Better to life along with life than to murder it... people don't realize that plants are living creatures as well..."

A few tears came to Kai's eyes as he quickly looked at Tomoro, "But...there has to be SOMETHING we can do to save some plants! We can't just sit here and not do anything as plants are being murdered all around us!" He sighed slightly as he realized what he just said, "But...that will never happen...I am just a healer...and you can control the earth...So all we can do is stabilize the plants that are already here..." He slowly looked down at his staff and book, "I...hate the humans that their only reason to kill is out of greed...Why can't they see that when they kill plants...They are murderers that deserve to be sent to jail..." He slowly picked up his staff and book and set them on a shelf in front of him. He opened the book and started flipping through it, searching for something. The book's only purpose was to help any healer heal a mortal...not plants...He slammed his head against the pages of the book, crying against them, "It's not fair...I want to help!..." This was one of the moments where his good side shone through and why he wanted to join the side of good. But he still wasn't sure which side he truly belonged on. He slowly looked up at the plant in front of him and gently traced the words on the pages in front of him absent-mindedly. His shining brown eyes never left the petals of the flower, searching for any sign of resistance against the human's hatred. But alas...It was merely a flower that was going to wither away and die...Nothing could change an organism's time to perish from this world...Nothing...

((sorry...but I better go sweatdrop it's late...and I have to work on a German project tomorrow...ciaoness!!!))

Tomoro walked over to the boy, and put her hands on his shoulders. "Kai... we can't do anything. I'm sorry." She kneeled down, and swiftly wrapped her hands around him, gripping him for only a second, and then standing up. She looked down, and then at Sachi. These... people... have a long way to go. Kai must accept that plants will wither away and fade, and if he continues to act this way, he will as well... and Sachi here, she has such a burden placed on her... not even knowing where she comes from. This school sounds like it's made for whackos.

Tomoro pressed the pouch on her side, and whispered a few words before instantly appearing in her Lolita dress, frills and all. "The plants know that they're doomed... but the continue to shine in an infinite array of colors... and that, I believe, is true strength." Tomoro had begun to feel quite a few emotions lately, besides the usual pain and sorrow. Sympathy, joy, jealousy, surprise, a hint of love... they were all beginning to show up within her, and it was strange feeling. She didn't know how to react at Kai's sudden tears, she'd never seen a male cry before, let alone interact with anyone besides Bukotsu and her evil father. The least she could do is sympathize with the poor boy.

Taking Tomoro's advice, Sachi made her way over to the flowers in the Greenhouse. She took a moment to explore the area before she knew what she wanted to pick. For her first set, she picked five pink flowers and three red ones. She placed the pink ones in a way so that they surrounded the red ones. She then picked a dark blue one to place in the center. She layed that set next to her as she began to start on another collection. Every once in a while, she would look in the direction of Tomoro and the one named Kai.

Kai slowly nodded at Tomoro, "I...guess you are correct...But...how come the people can't be like that?..." He stood up straight again, facing the girl, "I mean...How come people don't make the best out of their lives?...They know that they are going to die eventually...Yet some of them do not do anything special...They just wait for their inevitable demise...But how come they can't be like the flowers and make the best out of it?...Does that mean that they are weak?..." His big brown eyes never left Tomoro's single eye as he stared at her. Another button had undone itself and more of the healer's collarbone was visible now, but that didn't bother him right now. He brought up his left hand and wiped away the tears from both of his eyes. When he put his hand back at his side, his eyes filled with tears again and that made his eyes shine even more as he continued to watch Tomoro. He knew that the girl spoke the truth...but he couldn't bring himself to believe it whole-heartedly...Kai wanted to help the plants...Even if he elongated their lives by one day...He would be happy...But he couldn't do anything...

Tomoro looked back at Sachi as she picked the flowers, sighing softly. So cute... She then turned her look at Kai, and shook her head slightly, a few strands of hair touching her soft skin, getting in the way of her eyepatch. "Not weak... man does not know how to become strong, and show their strength. Humans thrive on attention, and one way to achieve that is pity or hurt. If people act like they are hurt, others naturally flock to them, asking if they are okay. That's how it's always been, since the beginning of time. " Tomoro's eyes must have seemed incredible cold and dull compared to Kai's shining brown eyes, filled with tears. She'd already used up her tears, she couldn't cry anymore. No use to cry when the future was coming fast, anyway. That's just how the wheels of time were. "Plants cannot move, Kai. They can only be moved by another living being. Unfortunately, we are the dominant beings, and they are subject to our desires. It won't change."

Tomoro looked away, and at the pink flower, kneeling down once again and stroking its petals, whispering softly. She popped back up, suddenly, and glanced at Kai before looking away. "You can't do anything. Those of us who choose to be strong... it may be a front, anyway. The flowers... they look happy, but are they? Their colors come forth, and they seem to shine, but are they really 'happy?' Is water and sun all they really need, or is it all a facade, when inside bugs may tear away at their insides?" Tomoro grasped her chest suddenly, and looked down. I'm not talking about flowers anymore... I'm talking about myself... in a form of flower... Tomoro felt the night lotus Bukotsu had put in her hair, and she sat down, back to a cement wall that formed an enclosed garden, elevated above the ground. She brought it down, and held it between her fingers, rubbing the silky petals that glowed luminescent compared to the atmosphere around her.

Kai frowned and his brown eyes quickly shifted to the mysterious flower from a different planet, "But still...we should be able to do something..." He grabbed his staff and tapped it against the ground a few times, trying to think of something that he could do to help nature. He couldn't change the earth like Tomoro and he couldn't stabilize a plant's genetic and physical wellness. He sighed sadly and glanced over at Tomoro, "I...feel so...helpless..." His eyes went wide when he saw her grab her chest. The healer ran over to the girl and knelt down in front of her, "Are you ok?..." He readied the staff at his side as he awaited anxiously for Tomoro's response. He was hoping that she would be all right but things could change in a matter of seconds and this, he had a feeling, was one of those moments. His shining brown eyes seemed to grow larger and more tear-filled as he watched Tomoro's movements, hoping that she would be ok. He hadn't really perfected his healing techniques yet but he tried his best to do pretty darn well.

Tomoro looked away quickly, a slight red. She put her hands up to tell she was okay. "I'm fine, I'm fine... you're a bit too close, though..." Tomoro backed away a bit, smiling slightly. "I'm okay... it's just this 'condition' I've had for a while... don't worry about it." He doesn't look that scary... I guess that's why I can sort of trust him... but keep your guard up, girl. You never know what he's hiding behind those cute brown eyes. He could be ready to kill! "Yeah... it's been getting worse lately. There's no cure. Best to take it as it comes." Tomoro sighed softly, nodding. "Yes... I've learned to accept my fate over the years..." She looked up, her eyepatch seeming to stretch as she cocked her head upward, and it made sort of a cracking sound; after all, it was makeshift for the time being, since she had ripped it off and quickly tied it together. "I am so feeble..." she mumbled, holding her heart once again.

Tomoro thought of Bukotsu, and wondered when he would be coming back for Sachi and herself. Why did he insist on staying with them? Sachi was on her own before, and Tomoro was just wandering... and yet, he accepted the fact that she wasn't like other people, in fact, not at ALL like other people. There was a din outside, and it made Tomoro frown slightly; why on Earth such loud noises when it was a greenhouse? It was supposed to be quiet.

((No worries. xD;;; You're better than a lot of people I usually RP with. >_>; ))

((I-I-I am?...and I apologize ahead of time if I suddenly disappear xd I'm tired...bleh ^_^))

Kai scooted back slightly, "Sorry..." He noticed Tomoro's eye patch and started thinking. He snapped his fingers almost silently and grinned widely, "I got it!" He dug through his hidden knapsack and pulled out a strip of black leather, some string, a needle, and a piece of black silk. The healer worked quickly and fluidly, his movements almost a blur. First, he made sure that the piece of black silk was big enough to cover Tomoro's eye. Next, he placed the ends of the black leather on each side of the black silk patch to make sure that the strip itself was big enough. When he was proud of himself, he sewed the strip to the silk, his stitches tight and nearly invisible. When it was completed, he examined the place where the leather met the silk and he made sure that the joining area wasn't visible. He tightened one of the stitches even more and when he was proud of his creation he bit his lower lip gently and caressed the new eyepatch. He slowly looked up at Tomoro and held it out for her, "Here...It's...for you...It is probably better than the one you have...But you don't have to take it...I could've made a better one if I had the right materials...I'm sorry..." He frowned slightly and his sparkling brown eyes slowly shifted down, hand not even shaking slightly as his weak arm remained outstretched. The noises around him didn't really bother the healer, he was used to loud noises now. He, himself, was almost silent as he waited for Tomoro to take his gift.

((daaaaaang...edits galore xd ))

((Okay. xD; ))

Tomoro's visible eye widened, and she brought her entire hand to her face, gently taking the patch from Kai. "T-thank you..." she stuttered. "I... haven't recieved a gift like this before..." With one hand holding the handmade eyepatch, Tomoro snapped off the other, and with her eye still closed, put it in her pouch as she slipped the new eyepatch over her eye. He probably won't ever see what's underneath my eye... but he still cares.... sort of like Sachi and Bukotsu... The new eyepatch was a bit big over her eye, but she smiled, and touched it with her left hand, as her bracelets jingled and jangled. "I... haven't even done anything for you... you are... very kind, Kai." Tomoro bowed deeply, her long silver hair cascading over her shoulders, her left eye twinkling slightly. "I owe you a lot. Sorry to trouble you so much." Tomoro smiled sadly, and shook her head. "There has to be something I can do for you.." Even if he's a man, I can still try to make him happy or something... but just this once. Men haven't exactly shown me kindness the last seventeen years. "So, Kai... where did you come from?" Tomoro raised her head, and pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, revealing the many piercings she had recieved when she was just a baby.

Kai instantly turned crimson and he shook his head quickly, "N-N-No...It's all right...You don't have to do anything for me..." He smiled sweetly and thought about the question that Tomoro asked, "Hmm...Let's see...I came from my parents' mansion...Which is..." He stood up and he thought about directions, even though he was geographically dysfunctional. He bit his lower lip thoughtfully and pointed west, "I...think it's over there...No...wait..." He then pointed to the south, "Or is it there..." He sighed and smiled at Tomoro, "Well...I used to live somewhere around here...Anyway...I came from my parents' mansion which is about 100 miles whatever direction it may be...They heard about this school and their 'special' students...The ones that have gifts...And they thought I was a little psycho when I created my own 'imaginary friend'...Even though he was real!" He shrugged slightly, "But that's a whole other story...They also thought that I could use...friends...I never really had any real friends before..." A single tear came to his eye as he sat back down in front of Tomoro, "I'm sorry...I've been bothering you with my tears a lot lately..." He quickly wiped away the stray tear droplet with his right palm, smiling quickly so it wouldn't ruin his happy mood. Right now, he didn't want to turn depressed and suicidal. Everything was for him being happy, the moment, the green house actually silent again, and...a friend.

"You're not bothering me at all, Kai..." It's just annoying, seeing as how you let your emotions out so easily, while I keep them locked up in this glass box of a heart... "Wow, a mansion... must have been nice. Anything you wanted, ay?" Tomoro said this part slightly bitter, and folded her arms across her chest. Don't take your anger out on him... he didn't do anything... you're the one to blame... Tomoro clenched her fist, and smiled, almost forcefully. "... sounds nice, living in a big house. Having whatever you wish. Well, at least you had one friend, even if he was imaginary. I come from far... far away. I actually met someone who came from my hometown, though, so that was nice... but yes, it was far away. About... I don't know, 3000 miles from here? My mother forced me to go here, she said it would be good for me." Good my a**. I'm falling apart slowly, here, learning the truth of what my father really did... "I... lived in a small house, with my mother and grandmother. I don't have anything special to tell." Tomoro stuck out a finger, and wrapped her long hair around it, a nervous habit she'd had ever since she was a child. She was running out of things to say.
