"Alright, just...forget I said anything." I rolled my eyes and looked out at the sky. "What's the club name?" she asked without looking in my direction. "Beats me," I held my hand out the top of the car, letting the wind shake my arms. I tried to remember the last time I'd been in a convertible, or even if I ever had. I shrugged and stared at the clouds again. Tess probably wondered where I was, but knowing her she was probably drunk and wouldn't worry too much about it.

"I'll try uh..." Of course I forgot her name, "er...Tess! Right, yes, Tess. I'll call Tess," I grabbed the sleek, thin iphone from his lap and went to recent calls. Sure enough, her number was number one on his list. I pressed down and listened to it ring on speaker phone.

Kimi stood a few yards away from where her 'Daughter' sat on the couch, puffing away at her cigg. She had been focusing on other things, now she looked back at the girl. "Demmy's home, Don't worry about it." She said nonchalantly. And picked up a bottle of water from the table. She took a swig then sighed deeply. The young woman was tired, she needed sleep, but knew that she wasn't likely to get any, anytime soon.

"Oh..okay," relief ran over me as I pushed myself so I was sitting upright. I felt my pocket begin to vibrate, slipping out my phone. Demmy!. I instantly answered the phone, my voice full of joy, "Hey!" I waited for a response...
I took a seat beside Tess once she no longer hogged the entire matress. I glanced at Kimi taking a swig and reached my hand out, hoping I wasn't going to be the designated driver tonight.
[Sorry it's so short >< still getting used to the characters]

"Hi...um..." What was I going to say? "The hospital," I continued, "we just got out of the uh...hospital." Did she even know we'd been there? I rubbed my left temple with the hand I had the phone in, right hand clutching the steering wheel. "Where should we...go? He said something about a gig at some bar or something?"

As soon as they said 'hi', I knew it wasn't Dem. I knew the voice from somewhere but I couldn't quite figure it out at the moment, but once I heard her next sentence I went from sitting up to standing up; far past the point of just being tense. I ignored the slight vertigo that threatened my stance, and nodded to what she said. "Yeah..we're at 154 Park Ave, it's the corner of Park and 8th. If you um..just left from there," I paused trying to pull myself together so I didn't break out in tears while on the phone. "It should be a good fifteen minutes away. I'll be outside waiting. K?" I didn't give her the chance to answer and instead hung up immediately and tossed my cell at Trace. Glancing from him to Kimi, I turned around and did my best to leave the building without stumbling from the pain pounding across my forehead. The air was frigid against my skin, sending bumps to blanket across it, making my teeth shatter uncontrollably. I took a seat along the curb a few feet away from the parking garage where Demmy would soon be dropped off by whoever was with him. Sigh. Why didn't they tell me he was in the hospital or that he was hurt. No, instead I was told he was at home. No mention whatsoever of him being hurt.

Before I could reply, the number on my screen blinked and exited back to the main picture. I wiped my eyes at the sight of the old photograph and tossed it back into his lap. "Who do we have here?" he asked, pointing at the shape next to my own on the screen. "Nobody. I think this is where she was talking about," I eased onto the brakes and pulled up to the parking garage. "Doesn't look like anyone's here..." I trailed off, looking down at the address scratched in blue ink on my palm. "Stay here," I ordered, yanking my keys out of the ignition and stuffing them in my pocket. He nodded and pulled down the seat to take a nap. My wedges beat the pavement and echoed across the barren darkness. "Hello?"

I watched as a car pulled up beside the parking garage and pushed myself back up. Walking over towards the car, a girl climbed out and began walking towards me. I imagined she couldn't see me due to the lack of streetlights. I waved over to her, "hey," my voice was weak and shaky. Realizing I met her earlier made me less nervous about Demmy, knowing he was probably in safe hands...

I pulled off my cover-all and hurried over. "Are you okay? You don't look okay," I draped it over her shoulders and kneeled down beside her. "You smell like cheap wine," I mumbled. I heard the familiar ballad of my ringtone and looked back at the car, where Demetri's face was lit in blue. "I'll call them back later," I shrugged.

"I'm fine, thanks." I removed the cloth and handed it back to her, knowing that I'd regret it later when I was left with the sniffles. Looking towards the car, "How is he?" My eyes squinted as a taxi roared past with their high beams on, splashing through a lake sized puddle. I winced as it just barely missed us.

"He's fine, everything went well," Except for the fact that his imaginary wife is going to be left with the bill.
"Hey, your phone's going off again!" I called across the lot, my words flying out of the convertible and bouncing off the walls. I squinted in the darkness and saw them on the corner for a moment, as a beam of head-lights lit their faces. "Whoever it is they're not giving up," I said, hopping over the passenger door and coming toward them.

I promised myself at the moment I saw him, I wouldn't run up to him, I wouldn't scream out his name, and I wouldn't show him how much it worried me that he was in the hospital. So I stayed, standing beside the girl who's name I was never told and watched as he approached us. Sure, we needed to talk about what happened but...this wasn't the time..and I didn't know when that time would come. I just hope he really is okay.
