"Urm..." Rorschach growled. "What happened where hole in space swallowed creature? Not New York. Live in New York. Different. Very different. Buildings wrong. No other costumed adventurers besides me. Open public hatred for all vigilantes. Vigilantism itself outlawed in 1977, leaving only those who would work for government. Bodies of half of New York's population litter the streets, the accumulated mass of carcasses blocking the sewers, making curbs start to flood with blood. Even more people driven mad. That is what real New York is like." Rorschach motioned towards the door. "That is not New York. New York doesn't have men in spider webs swing around from rooftops. No sorcerers. No men in blue with red capes. Hasn't had masked woman who dressed like hooker since '68. Has never had giant monster swallowed by rend in space. What happened?"
A vein in Danny's forehead started throbbing slightly. Was he talking about Black Cat? Like she was a hooker? His fists balled without his realizing, and he stepped forward a bit, getting in between her and him. "You called Black Cat a hooker. She may be some things that we'd wish she wasn't, but she is NOT a hooker. You will apologise to her, and until you do, we aren't telling you squat."
"Ern..." Rorschach looked at the man, Daniel. Servant of Black Cat? Sexual partners? Irrelevant. The man had taken offense to him, and he used a convincing tone of voice. Still needed information. Promised to avoid fighting here. Best to cooperate, for now. He looked at Black Cat. "Apologies."
Danny backed off a little, standing just in front and to the side of Black Cat. His fists were still balled. "You were there during the scene, Spider-Man. Tell him what he wants to know, so he can leave."
Rorschach considered the man Daniel again. Didn't fit here. Not apparently a masked vigilante. Just a man. Man with temper. And crush on woman in hooker clothes. Stupid. He turned his head back towards Spider-Man.

Black Cat had settled back in her chair, and when Daniel jumped in to defend her honor, she had to cover her mouth with her hand to keep from laughing. It had been a long time since anybody bothered to do that... Or maybe it had just been a long time since anyone had been dumb enough to call her a hooker. In any case, it was rather sweet... and it made her wonder if she should have encouraged him quite so obviously. Ah, well.
"Calm down, Danny; the man's just talking." She paused. "We've had our share of public outrage against superheroes," she said slowly, not knowing how right she was, "But we've never had anything like that happen. Definitely not murder on the scale you're talking about." She glanced at Spider-man, and then continued. "I think you're probably from another alternate reality, one where things took a decidedly darker turn. That's been happening a lot lately. Superman isn't from the version of Earth we know, either; or, rather, he's an imaginary character." She shrugged. "I don't know the mechanics of it, and to be honest I've just been trying to stay out of the way, but there you go. The situation in a nutshell."

Rorschach nodded to Black Cat. "Good to know. Superman is a comic book in my world. Never thought he existed. However, I also wish to know what happened at the fight in question. Superman against a monster, stopped by Doctor Strange. How? Spider-Man was there. Witnessed him. Wanted answers. Followed him here."

Spider-man shrugged. "Well, you were there, I saw what you saw. Strange magicked that Doomsday guy into another dimension. How did he do it? He do-do that voodoo that you do I guess, I don't know! I'm a superhero, not a doctor, Jim!"

Black Cat snorted with the sudden, unexpected onset of laughter, and quickly covered her mouth to conceal her mostly silent giggles. She couldn't hide her shaking shoulders, though.

Batman's voice came in. He did not sound happy... more so than usual. "We're having problems with the citizenry of Metropolis being turned against us by one Dr. Doom. Name ring any bells?"

"Umm... Okay... let me think... I'm here with Dr. Strange now, he's our most powerful magic user, but he's out cold and he needs some re-coup time. If you can locate Tony Stark (the head of Stark industries in my New York) he can help, I also have some other friends of mine, if you can have Wonder Woman and Superman (and maybe Tony) meet us at these coordinates in two hours, we should be able to handle it."

"Eh..." Superhero. A term that does not exist outside of the panelled pages of comic books. Not in Rorschach's world. Couple of days ago, he had been worried about mask killers. Now, that seemed like small change. Here, there were masks everywhere. The loss of one might be appreciated here, not like in his world. Like when the Comedian died. Good man. Good masked adventurer. Served his country well. Was not perfect man, but that does not exist in his world, either. Was perfect fighting man, though. Defended his country's interests time and again. Spider-Man also said name of monster. Doomsday. Fitting name for monster. Doomsday. Rorschach began to wonder. Did Dr. Manhattan send him here intentionally? Maybe Jon made this world for him, where people like him would be more appreciated for what they did. Was certainly within his power. He looked at Black Cat laugh at Spider-Man's joke. Joke was funny. Rorschach did not laugh. His attention returned to Spider-Man as he spoke, apparently through communication device under mask. Could be useful. Might need one himself. If there were people who could work with him here. If. He saw Spider-Man shake his head. "What is wrong?"
Danny smirked at Spider-Man's joke. It was good to know that he was keeping a level head. Danny certainly wasn't. He also took note of Spider-Man's talk over the communicator. He cued in especially on the words 'Doctor Doom'. Doom equalled bad news. Actualy, that was more of a rule of thumb; sometimes, Doom equalled horrible news. He hadn't heard the word 'fantastic' since arriving in this pocket Universe, so he didn't think the Fantastic Four were here. Wait a minute... He thought for a second. Did the reserve Fantastic Four need to get together? Wolverine and Spider-Man were here in this building, so three of them were already present. Now they just needed the gray Hulk. From what the web-slinger had told him before, they worked together pretty well in the past.
