Mathias thought for a moment, "well your right, everything is pretty much being occupied. We'll need everyone at the defense though when the covenant decide to attack. Any specific assignment you had on your mind son?"He looked directly at the private with a stern look, wanting an honest opinion. He hadnt mentioned anything about it yet, but he thinking of a plan to have a group of ODSTs led by the SPARTANs they had on base for guerilla warfare on the covenant position to hurt them any way they could before an attack on Alpha base came, giving alpha base that much more time while the UNSC higher-ups decided what they wanted done.

"you mean you want to be in place as a medic? any soldier that can keep a man alive long enough to get him back to a field hospital qualifies as a medic right now." He paused for a moment looking down at his map again then back up at PFC Howie, "Alright, youll be assigned to the ODSTs, when and if they are put into separate operations from Alpha Base as a squad medic. Until that time I want you to gather any medical supplies you need from the supply group. If they give you any arguments tell them, the Lieutenant ordered it. Any questions?"

Another person entered the make-shift command center that had been set up and directly approached the Lieutenant and spoke to him. Mathias stood up straight and saluted the Major when he saw the insignia he bore. "Yes sir, I am Lieutenant Twombley, head of ground ops for the Armengald."

Attention! All CO's and SPARTANS! This is the Captain, we have new mission objectives.

About 2 hours ago we have taken pictures of a special structure that has not been documented on any of the past Halo structures.

"Pleasure to meet you as well Major." He showed turned his interest to the map laid out on the table of the area they were in. Coverving mainly the butte and the routes to and from it. "well major, as im sure youve seen weve already begun to dig in. Titanium-A plating has been set in place by technicians to form a defensive barrier." He pointed out the area where the plating had been set. "We came in contact with the Covenant last down here in the forest before the butte." He pointed this out as well. "..And I believe we are 140 men strong, with multiple ODSTs and a couple SPARTANs as well, but we mostly have marines."

After the lieutenant finished speaking, a transmission about some new location blared over the COM channel. When it finished, he turned to Lieutenant Twombley. "I hope they find out what that thing is. They better make it count since they are leaving us to defend Alpha Base by our selves."

"Yes, I would like to know their location immediately. Here's a question: Can you tell what they're saying? We need to find that out if we can. Also, we definitely need to inform the Armengald about this as soon as possible."

"Yes sir." He said and led him to the techie with the COM.

"Sir, They are about 11 miles away. Thats all I can gather from this. Shall I make a connection to the Armengald?" The Techie with the COM said.
