Kaosti snarled at the vapor and slipped his socks and shoes on, picked up his sandy shirt and shuffled down the main street of town. After being convinced to buy some bread he made his way back to the manor and tossed the bread on the counter in the kitchen, "I'm home!" he shouted to whomever would care.

Vaine sighed in relief and patted the girls head, "Good... They made it sound like you were going to start killing things if you got upset." he took Asillin's hand and brushed the back gently, "Asillin, This is Cortez VonMire. An old friend of mine." he removed the hand brushing hers and showed her to Cortes.

Asillin and Cortez greeted each other with a nod.
Cortez turned his attention to Kaosti, "Morning, we are in the living room, Vaine decided to stop by." he shouted to him.
Asillin made her way back to the fire place and curled up infront of it.

Kaosti came around through the dining room and joined everyone in the family room.
Vaine rose from his chair and grinned, "Kaosti. It's been a while... You were at my waist last time I saw you." he took the boy in his arms and savored the embrace.
Kaosti patted his back, "It has been a while, hasn't it... How have you been?" he asked as he stepped back and placed himself in a chair.
"I've been well... Lonely, as most my age seem to be... and you?" Vaine asked as he sat back down next to Cortez.
Kaosti looked at the floor and mumbled, "Its been... stressful... so to say."
Vaine nodded and closed his eyes, "Well, If you ever want to get away from it all.... you can always stay with me."

Jabez stepped into the part of the garden that was made a memorial and grave cite for Elenath. her headstone was a statue in her likeness, to the left was a small headstone, for Hans. the people believed they should be together in death. to the right was a headstone for Gail, it was covered in summer festival flowers, her favorite. in the center of all this was Lucid, asleep. Jabez looked down at him with a sad look. she was practically his mother. He misses her as much as i do. Jabez noted that if Lucid was to stay outside much longer the sun would burn him up. he lifted the man as if he were a child and held him in his arms. he then carried Lucid to his home and knocked on the door.
Cortez nodded to his guests "excuse me" he went to the door to see who it was. Cortez looked up to see Jabez, as he was very tall. "was he in the garden?" he asked Jabez
Jabez nodded and handed Lucid to him. Cortez thanked him, "Jabez, we should have you for dinner tonight, its the least i could do, Ebony and Sybil are invited as well."
Jabez looked pleased, "I think that would be nice, i will talk with Sybil about it."
Cortez returned Lucid to his room, then returned to the living room area. "You wouldn't believe who that was. Jabez brought Lucid home." he said to Vaine and Kaosti. "I invited him for dinner, will you be staying too?" he asked Vaine.

Vaine shrugged, "I don't see why not... Mind if I invite Hiro. He's... family... of mine... kind of."
Kaosti's eyes lit up and he shot out of his seat "Is Sybil coming?" he felt the blood rushing through his body as his energy began surging from his body, "I'm going to cook if you don't mind... I feel I can prepare an adequate meal."

Cortez shook his head, "i dont know it she will be attending, but i would assume so, you two are friends aren't you? but yes feel free to cook, your better with food." he said to Kaosti
Cortez turned to Vaine, "who is Hiro? if hes family then i would like to meet him." Cortez smiled, this dinner was going to be fun, it has been a very long time since he last had so many people staying for dinner.
"Im going to check on Ania" Cortez went to her room.
Asillin got up and sat on Vaine's lap and curled up on him. "im all warm now"
Ania was awake and was hanging out her window, alarmed Cortez pulled her into his arms and closed her window. he set Ania down she stared at him blankley
"Dont do that, the sun will burn you" Cortez scolded as he pulled the heavy maroon curtains. Ania looked down as her feet, she was so cute, like a pet. Cortez felt a little bad then rested his hand on her shoulder "i am only trying to keep you safe" Ania nodded and rested her head on his arm.
"you know, you dont have to stay in your room all the time anymore." Cortez escorted her downstairs

Kaosti dashed into the kitchen and began firing up the ovens, stoves and prepared a meal fit for royalty.
Vaine kissed her forehead, "You are quite warm my dear... But if you don't mind... I have to go retrieve a friend. " he stood up and placed her in his chair, "You sit right here, and I'll be back in ten minutes."
stepping outside Vaine unsheathed his rapier and drew a circle in the ground, stepped inside, and vanished.

Asillin smiled and placed her fingers to her forehead where his lips touched her. but watched him leave with worry written all over her face.
Ania watched as Kaosti walked into the kitchen,
"Why dont you go help him?" Cortez said to her and lead her in the direction of the kitchen, Ania went in excitedly. she walked up to Kaosti all smiles "may i help?" she asked him.

Kaosti smiled, "Would you like to help me bake pies?" he finished mixing the ingredients for the pie crust and placed the dough on a cutting board and handed her a roller, "I need you to flatten that out for me."
~10 minutes later~
The smell of a five course meal was in the air. Kaosti was just finishing up the instructions for how to make a pie and then stirring some soup he had prepared. as well as tending to the meat in the oven on the other side of the kitchen. Everything Had. To. Be. Perfect!
Vaine returned with Hiro right behind him. Just as he went for the door, Hiro pushed it shut and flipped Vaine around to face him, "So what was up with earlier today? I finally come home from a mission that could kill me and you kick me out!?"
Vaine cringed and put up his index fingers, indicating he wanted to speak, "I... Have a weapon... Unlike any other weapon.... And I didn't want it to kill you."
Hiro rolled his eyes, "Really... That's a horrible excuse... If you have a weapon-"
"It's a woman."
There was silence between the two men and they both moved away from the door and sat down on the steps of the mansion. as they looked around the yard Hiro looked over at Vaine and nodded, ".... I'm glad you kicked me out."

Asillin sat atop the chair like a hawk, she could see Vaine through one of the windows and she bolted across the room and out the door, "Master!" she said as she leaped onto him with a loving embrace. "i thought you would be gone forever! Im so glad you came back for me." she paused and realized that Vaine was sitting next to her and she was hugging someone else. Asillin shrieked and jumped over to Vaine. "who is that? he scared me!" she said into Vaine's chest, not looking at Hiro.
Ania happily rolled the dough and followed Kaosti's instructions. she almost appeared as if she was dancing as she moved about the kitchen.

Now that Ania had some experience in the kitchen Kaosti handed her an ingredient list while he let his ghost hands take over the kitchen, "Alright... I'm going to teach you to make cookies... If you know how... this should be easy."
They went through the ingredient list and mixed up the dough he laid out a line of things to put in the cookies and told her to mix those in and when she was done, take a small chunk off, roll it into a ball, and place it on the cookie sheet next to her.

Vaine chuckled and held the little girl trembling in his arms, "Asillin, This is Hiro. He's been staying with me since he was 15. though in recent years he's been coming and going as he pleases... I think he just stops in to make sure I'm still alive."
After he got over the shock of being launched at Hiro laughed and stood up, "It's good to meet you Asillin..."

Asillin stood and bowed to Hiro "It is good to meet you, im sorry i jumped on you."
Ania did as he instructed, she then tasted a bit of the dough. "mmh!" she turned to Kaosti and offered him to taste the bit on her spoon "this is good!" she said to him with a smile.

Hiro scratched the back of his head and sighed, "No need to be so formal, My dear, You're part of the family now."
Vaine looked at her with a warm smile on his face, but his mind turning in curiosity as to how she would react to being in a family.

Kaosti licked the spoon and nodded in satisfaction, "You're definitely a good cook Ania, And with a little bit more experience in the kitchen, You'll be as good as me!" he chuckled and returned to the roast in the oven.

Ania blushed a little and placed the spoon in her mouth and continued to place the dough on the cookie sheet. she wasn't sure how to take complements, but she liked them.
Lucid got up and got dressed then drifted down to the kitchen. "yum, should i set the table? how many people?" he asked Kaosti as he went to grab the plates

Kaosti began counting on his fingers and mumbling, "Sybil, Ania, Vaine, Hiro, Asillin, Jabez, Cortez, Ebony, Lucid, myself... and I think that's it.... so 10?" he looked over at Cortez, "Is that right?"
