"Jesus, Syx. I ask you to save lives, to take a small sacrifice upon yourself to save the people set to protect the worlds and you, and is that honestly the response?" Lee looked a mixture of genuine surprise and annoyance. "This is a hard choice, I'm glad you made it, but it's the right one and I can't see anyone here honestly arguing it. Are you so upset with your choice you need to keep face? You should be proud of what you did here." He nodded at the recorder. "And I didn't ask you to forget your friend. I'm sure he would have liked to have gotten that."

Syx shook her head. "I wasn't upset about my choice, at least not that one."

"I watched it, before we got here." Syx said, glancing to Eric. "You think he'll be pissed? good. It'll probably be better than him knowing why Pen didn't come to Earth with him. When this is over, go ahead and tell him I smashed her last goodbye. The anger will probably do him better good than seeing her face again."

((Sorry to be so absent. v_v Life just sorta... got in the way. Even before it did, I sorta felt like I was just sitting on the sidelines with nowhere to jump in, and then lost my inspiration when I finally could [when you said Tu was among those who fell asleep on Thesys]. It's nice to find a place in here again.))

"ELECTRIC" was short for "ELECTRICAL DANGER" and was one of only two buttons that activated a call sequence mechanically, rather than electronically. The other was "PARA."

"PARA" was short for "PARAMILITARY ASSISTANCE REQUIRED." Like the other buttons, it was intended to be pressed only in an emergency. Most houses and apartments do not include this button, especially those with small children as permanent residents.

Svarlena was surrounded by a small horde of heavily armored and helmeted individuals in exactly 2.5 seconds.

"...Yes?" one of them said digitally. It was impossible to determine which one had spoken, as the voice seemed to come from right behind her ear. "No paranormal or parahumanoid activity, no terrorists, and no alien attack. Is our assistance required, or..." Somehow their general presence turned heavy with disapproval. "...did you just press the button for the hell of it?"

((Well Svarlena's pissed at him, not that he knows her, so meh, and Syx is all 'Grah, stomp stomp!'. Half expect Eric to accept the General's deal right after he runs upstairs and punches the unconscious Jarred in the nuts.))

Eric shot Syx a look, "I was also in the process of trying to get off as fast as I could, because I'm one little guy on a great big ship full of Kore asshats wanting me dead, all the while trying to fulfill Pen's last request of saving her sister AND! AND! Trying to get off the ship, or at least inoculate myself from a weaponized Kore plague. Fun times. You both should try it some time." As an after thought, Eric added, "Oh, yeah... I still have that immunization for the Plague that the Kore uses in my blood... General, you should prolly have that, too."

((*shrug* Still.))

They all glared at her and started walking out the normal way. The voice behind her ear muttered, "It's print/pulse coded, *!$^!$^*, can't be pressed on accident..."

Dev was standing outside the door with a look of mild shock and embarrassment.

Lee took the PDA, nodding his head. "Thank you, every bit can help, and we will want to take a sample of your blood if the bastards are using biological warfare." He nodded at Syx. "Don't have to wait for the war to end. Honestly, a few days, a week at most is all I ask. I understand it's not easy."
