Vincent switched the soldiers training to utilizing their entire body weight into a single devastating blow to end a fight.

The soliders quickly grasped the concepts of the training, calling the most senior solider to his side Vincent directed him to drill the other soldiers. Making his way swiftly through the shadows of the main building Vincent arrive at the throne room, adding extra guards to the interior and exterior of the room. Vincent waited patiently outside, falling into a meditative stance that let him focus on all possible courses of action that the guest may or may not take in attempting to harm the Matron, her family, or what he might attempt to steal...

Vincent took note that the matron and her direct relations had all seemed to vanish, this was quite odd. Traveling out of the house he scanned the landscape for perhaps they had taken a trip to another house and he had not been informed. Finding that they were no where to be found Vincent traveled to the scout team leaders quarters.

Bowing to the captain, "Scout master I do believe something is amiss, the matron and her kin have seemed to vanish. I would like for you to contact your informants and spies, It is likely that without our matron we may be made a target by a rival house."

Scout Master NPC: "Of course, I should have your answers within two hours."

Two hours later...

Scout Master NPC: "Sir, I have most dire news, high ranking members of Qu'ellar Hun'Afin are deviating from their normal routines. It is possible that they will attack quite soon. Also I have a report that indicates that a mage, a female at that, is trying to join Qu'ellar Tor'Afin. On that note I have also received word that the matron of Qu'ellar Hun'Afin has also made a recent trip to Qu'ellar Rylinndar, sir the two matrons met and neither seemed displeased after the meeting; my spy was unable to find out exactly what was said between the two."

"Thank you captain." Vincent silently pondered as he walked along, The matron is gone, the other houses are meeting, recruiting, or deviating from the norm. This cannot be good, I would rather not act on only circumstantial reports and without the matrons consent, but unfortunately I must for the good of the house, Lolth save me if I'm wrong.

Addressing a guard standing near a door, "Get every solider ready to fight, we have fallen into a web of another house. Prepare for the worst."

Rushing to his quarters Vincent grabbed everything he owned, including his most recent feeding slave and whisked them to a cave deep in a stalactite far from any bridge, chaining the slave with a tight bond he fed from her and set some food and water out that could last he girl a month, afterward he stashed his possessions. There is no way I'm going to lose everything if the spider queen wills my house to fall.

Traveling back to the House the soldiers had already been prepared and were at arms before the house. "Men, we fight for victory. Our enemy is unknown, probably another house or maybe two houses. Your training will be key here, do not forget what I have taught you!" With a rallying cry the men of Qu'ellar Alaendius stood strong ready to face anything...

Malag and the Shadow Guard descended upon the castle like a swarm of invisible locusts. They came from all sides, cloaked and unseen, and any soldiers outside of the castle walls were about to be swept from existance. Malag's men moved quickly, and cared nothing for honor: crossbow bolts hissed through the air, slamming home and silencing targets left and right. Silent blades followed the barrage, opening throats and piercing hearts with nary a sound. The bodies would seem to vanish before they hit the ground, dragged into alleys or pushed into dark places away from sentries' eyes. Soon, the house's surrounding boroughs would be cleared, and the assassins would be certain of it; any soldiers left would be quickly hunted down and exterminated before the Shadow Guard moved on to the walls.

Vincent sniffed the air, it was ripe with, "Blood, this is bad. I should have seen this coming." He scanned the forces assembled and took note of a significant amount of soldiers had vanished from sight. "Men! Tight formations! Assassins have penetrated our lines. Vigilance is key, let nothing escape your gaze!"

The soldiers grouped into groups of five working back to back allowing no movement to escape their sights. Outstretching his arms Vincent called upon neighboring bats. "Children of the Night I summon thee, reveal our foes for what they be!" Five bats flew down and hovered over five groups of soldiers utilizing their natural echolocation to detect any movement around the groups.

Malag smirked to himself as his keen eye observed the bats taking wing: an excellent tactic, but not one that would stop him. The Shadow Guard fired as one, their darts and arrows aimed at the bats. The arrows flew from all sides, each shot tactically aimed to hit another group of soldiers if the bats managed to dodge the assault. Several of assassins moved a bit closer, like creeping shadows as the sun set; with the bats either distracted or dead, they probably wouldn't be able to see the motion since their attention would probably be focused more on avoiding imminent death.
