"Maybe." Replied Jade softly before rounding the corner. Scented smoke came from the chimney of the largest of the buildings. A small purr, before her ears suddenly flicked backwards. Something was off about that place. Though she had been there before and had really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the place. It had such good food too..."Ashierra...are you sure that you're hungry?" She asked trying to sound innocent as they approached the door.

Alek smiled at Tuula before looking back around the area. Still no sign of the taurs who lived here. 'Where could they be?' He pondered before Tuula came back with the wood. "Amazing." He smiled, "It's kinda easy though isn't it?" He mused out loud taking hold of the wooden pieces.

Smelling the food, Ashierra put a hand to her stomach. She was indeed hungry. She cocked her head at Jade curiously, her hand resting on the door's handle. "Yes, I am." She said slowly. "Is there somewhere else you'd rather go?"

Though Alek was smiling, Tuula's hand froze in the air, eyes narrowing. "What do you mean, easy?" She asked quickly. They happened to catch the place empty. She'd thought it luck. Did he sense something else? "What are you thinking?"

"No...no." Jade forced a smile and pushed open the door. And despite the warmth and wonderful aroma of food, the noise coming from a crowded corner made her wince. 'Oh boy.' Grabbing Ashierra's wrist with a gentle grip, Jade hurried them towards the bar.

Alek's tail twitched as he slowly shook his head, "Maybe, maybe not." He paused and tasted the air, "It's just that if they're so busy not being here where are they? Could they be off terrorizing someone or is there something hidden here just waiting for us to make the wrong move?"

Ashierra frowned as her wrist was grabbed. She'd been fine until they'd gotten inside. It was then that she noticed the corner group, the feeling they gave off. She kept her eyes ahead though, deliberatly not looking at whoever gave off the offensive vibe. "Maybe we can get our food to go? Eat back in the room?" She suggested, hoping to help Jade feel better.

Tuula snorted in disgust. "Of course they're off terrorizing someone else. That's all they do! And I'm sure they have precautionary measures around here. I've only been caught once though, got out easily. They only use them to scare other's away." She turned back to look the camp over. "Do you see anything else, or are you eager to get back to your girls?"

"If you're fine with that." Replied Jade, but suddenly her gaze sharpened and she shook her head. "No, that shows hints of fear on our part. I don't like that."

Jade's tail swished behind her as she smiled at Ashierra, "Let's just order and eat in the nice corner over there." With that she headed towards the bar and looked at the neatly carved daily menu. "If you want something specific though it's not on there you can ask and they might have it." She murmured nodding towards the board. Now all they needed was a waiter.

"I don't like the sound of that one bit." Muttered Alek before looking back at the camp, "Oh, I'll find something." Jumping down from his perch, Alek paused and quickly added, "And they're not my girls!" With that he walked into the camp, eager to look around.

Ashierra nodded casually as she followed. She looked the board over quickly. "Actually, they seem to have a nice selection already. I know what I'll have." Despite the nerves, she felt her stomach roll hungrily at the smells and thoughts of fresh food.

Of the two males behind the bar, the foxtaur wearing an apron with his long hair tied back to show off his numerous earrings headed over to them with a bright smile. "And how are you lovely ladies doing today? Care to try the moose fillet? It's on special today."

Tuula smacked her hand to her forhead. "You stubborn...." It was too late now though. She hopped up onto the outcrop to watch guard herself. "Fine. Should I be saying your 'girl?' Singular?" She asked teasingly.

"Okay good." Jade looked up at smiled at the foxtaur, "That sounds interesting." She purred and tilted her head to the side thoughtfully, "I'd rather have it torn into a few small strips though and mixed in with a salad type dish. With sunflower seeds and-" Jade broke off with a grin, "You know how I ordered it last, sir."

Alek only replied with a flick of his tail as he walked into the camp. His nose wrinkled at the smell of the place, but after a couple of seconds the cattaur found it wasn't too horrible. Still, Alek found himself a bit jumpy as he searched through the campsite. His eyes narrowed as he passed scattered items that were obviously some one else's at one point. Fingers twitched as he ran his hand along an old leather bound book. 'Tempting...' He thought briefly looking back towards Tuula.

Ashierra couldn't help but smile. With the friendly foxtaur, who wasn't at all bad looking, and Jade being cheery, she felt her own mood actually improve a little. She'd still be happy to get out of there.
"And I'll have the blackened chicken with potato strips."

The foxtaur smiled and gave Jade a playful wink. "That I do miss." Then he turned to Ashierra with his full attention to take the new order with a nod. "Excellent choice my dear! You ladies can have a seat wherever you wish and I'll bring it out to you when it's done. These eyes haven't failed be yet." He winked again before handing them a piece of paper and heading to the kitchen area.
On the note: I suggest you find a table away from the group of males in the corner. They have a tendancy to be a bother to unescorted ladies such as yourselves. Take care.

Tuula snickered. "Oh! No comment eh? Perhaps I have something there?" Keeping one eye on Alek and the other on the enterance, she started inspecting the wood with her hands to make sure it was all okay to put back onto the bridge. She sighed again. 'Now he's touching things... So much for stealth.'

"Alright then." Jade smiled brightly at the foxtaur, "Thank you so much!" Her eyes narrowed sharply at the note before nodding to the opposite corner, "We'll sit there, Ashierra." She whispered softly, her hand still closed around Ashierra's wrist -a habit when she was concerned or worried- as she lead the way towards a side window where just a couple of lone tables rested.

Alek walked around several more times before stopping to look at the fire, and with a brief flash he felt his power slide into the few embers remaining. A small smirk flickered over his face, they'd not be too happy with the big boom coming from their next fire. Fixing the strap of his traveling bag, Alek noted the extra weight before heading back towards Tuula.

Reading the note while Jade spoke, Ashierra sighed to herself. How much trouble could she be in one day? She gave the waiter a sweet smile as she was tugged along by Jade.
She settled herself next to the window and gazed out it. "Have you been to this village before?"

Tuula had the boards wrapped snuggly with vines of her making and tied them to her back. "Finished?" She asked the male shortly, standing up and hopping down next to him. "No point trying to hide you now. As long as it's clear, we'll just go out the front door."

Sitting down with her elbows propped casually on the table, Jade closed her eyes. "Once a couple of years ago, but I've been living here for the past several days. This is my favorite place to find food so I come here at least once a day when I can." Her voice was steady and relaxed though her magic was secretly floating about the room like a small web before expanding out into the wind looking towards the mountains.

"Alright, sounds fine by me." Replied Alek looking at the boards against her back from the corner of his eye. He nearly offered to help carry them but then shook the thought aside. 'She might not like me doing that.' Alek all too well remembered how some cattaurs would get angry over the offer of help, for some reason they always took that as a sign that he thought of them as weak.

Ashierra nodded, letting herself relax as her mind continued to be sharp to their surroundings, listening to the loud guffaws coming from the opposite corner of the room. "It is rather nice." She gave Jade a playful wink, not something she would normally do, but what she thought a couple good friends would who didn't have a care. "The food the only thing you like here? I think that foxtaur was making eyes at you."

Tuula nodded and headed cautiously to the front of the pass. When a bit of wind tousled her hair, she froze, sniffing carefully. She suddenly felt on edge, eyes narrowed. The wind was carrying something different. Not the bandits... another magic. "Come on." She said, quickening her pace.

Jade laughed lightly and opened her eyes before giving Ashierra a sarcastic look. "Oh yes. I'm positively sure that you're right!" She purred before shaking her head, "Nah, I find it hard to believe. But I do say he liked to gaze at you, Ashierra."

Alek nodded before pausing mid-step. The wind was acting odd as it brushed about him, like it was being-"Jade." Muttered the male with a smile, "That little demon." But he was glad though because if Jade was openly using her magic for checking up on him, that meant that Ashierra and her were fine. Whatever they were up too.

A soft breeze wrapped back around Jade's fingers as the food finally came to their table. Looking up at the waiter she smiled with thanks. Then something caught her gaze, an older cattaur male from the group on the other side of the room was looking with curiosity in their direction. His deep hazel eyes seemingly lit before he 'innocently' looked away and back to his own group.

Jade instantly forced her magic down and stared back at her food. ''I don't think he's really paying attention to them. Probably not good.' She thought with a silent sigh, before trying to refocus on the food.

"Well, what can I say?" Ashierra snickered and gave her hair an exaggerated fluff that fell down in two seconds.
She looked down happily at her food, sparing only a moment to thank the waiter before eating hungrily. "You're right, the food is delicious." She purred as she gave Jade a curious look with her eyes. She'd seen a flash of agitation cross the other's face.

Reaching the enterance to the camp, Tuula snapped her hand up to block Alek. Pointing silently, she hopped over a thin wire stretched across the path. "Remember. Keep a sharp eye. There shouldn't be too many more since were heading away from here." She picked up her pace again when the magic in the air vanished, not sure whether it was a good or bad sign.

"So true." Jade grinned at Ashierra before digging into her own food. After a couple of bites, she laughed teasingly. "Well I never lie. Well too much anyway." Seeds crunched quietly in her mouth before she caught Ashierra's gaze. Swallowing the cattaur quickly formed the silent words, 'watching us' and gave a discreet nod towards the group.

It was only because Jade was trying so hard not to openly gaze at the other side of the room that she didn't notice the movement of the cattaur and two others.

'Jade is probably just finished with checking in.' Thought Alek trying to seem optimistic before looking down at the wire, "Oh, they need to be more creative than that." He commented dryly before jumping over it and heading after Tuula. "You'd think that if they had a decent or creative cattaur, these traps would be trickier...so far I haven't seen much magical residue besides in some places in the camp."
