"Good choice. Silly Gale." Shaking her head but then she smiled and gave a noise of delight as Kyst more or less popped up. A small laugh from her and a nod, "I remember...sea elves simply are never as graceful as they are in the water. Aw Kyst, did you come up all this way just to see me?"

He about choked on air at her question, especially when people were looking at him. It was a loaded question. "Er...um..." How could she put him in this kind of position? The people wouldn't want to hear that some girl was more important than his kingdom and she wouldn't want to hear that she was on par with the importance of those people and not more important than them as his lover. "Lharika, that's not the point. You wanted some time alone, I wanted to take a walk."

Oh, that just ruffled her feathers even more. Her eyes narrowed to slits, their aquamarine color barely visible now and her ear tips turned lavender as her face suffused with heat. "That's not the point? No, the point is that you went behind my back and manipulated the situation to get your own way. And when I find out and am angry about it, you refuse to even try to talk to me about it? Isn't that the point, Glynnic?"

"I can outdance anyone in the water. Even my own queen." He laughed and gave a nod to Gale then began to move his body a bit more in time to the rhythm. "I had a question to ask you but the impromptu dance lesson has wiped it away. As such, I'll stay here and dance and when it comes to me, I'll ask. How's that?"

Again with the silly Gale thing, Galesen was always wondering why she kept on saying that, and he had thought things over when she did. When was the time she never called him silly? Still he needed to focus on other things and looked at Kyst with a smile and he had to laugh. "Really? now that I've got to see." Though he raised an eyebrow as it seemed that Kyst came here to talk to Isle, now what would the sea elf want this time? But the dancing still needed to go on and Galesen went with it as he moved around the floor. "So, how is the daughter of the oceans Queen doing? I've been meaning to take a trip to Selkor but I've been a bit distracted lately."

"Sea elves are like fish, it's not hard to imagine." But now she had both men dancing to her own beat so to speak and it was indeed amusing. "Fair enough Kyst. Dance until your poor sensitive feet can no longer handle it and you remember what you came here for."

If people weren't staring before, people were now. He knew it, they were just trying to look like they weren't. Who would't want to hear this after all. He was pretty sure all of this was going to get contorted into juicy rumors as well. "You're the one who wouldn't talk to me. Don't you play the victim." Taking her by the arm as gently and firmly as possible, heading to a less crowded space. "The point was to get you out of there so you could focus on yourself. I did what I had to do. Now go back to the palace, I'm not going to tiff with you in public."

"You kidnapped me," she hissed right back at him, low enough that no one could hear. "You tricked me into coming when you knew how I felt." But he was dragging her off and then ordering her around? Her jaw tightened and she jerked away from him. "You are neither my father nor my king. Remember that." Turning on her heel and stalking back towards the palace. Well, she'd made a muck of things, hadn't she? Flopping down in her room where she was indeed, now, sulking like a child.

"Meet me in the water sometime, Galesen. I'll teach you to dance in it." He added a few more steps that he could still kind of manage but nearly tripped over his own feet on the last one. He was just too clumsy outside of water. "And likewise, anyone can beat me out of the water..." Shaking his head and then giving a laugh. "Wouldn't do you any good to visit. The Princess hasn't been seen since the blessed day she graced the seas."

"Of course, I've seen some sea elves dance in the water, just not Kyst yet." A small chuckle to that before he turned to said sea elf and smiled a little bit. "Well then, I will certainly take you up on that offer when I can my friend." Galesen manage to take a few more steps before he stopped as Kyst was just ab out to fall from tripping over his own too feet. "Still, if you were to teach me dancing in the water Kyst you would see me moving all over the place until I somehow get it right." Another smile to that before he gave a nod. "I see, well then I hope someday to meet her if given the chance, but until that wonderful day I shall wait like any other elf here." And back to dancing, which by now was getting to be a lot of fun. "Still I will visit Selkor some time after the tournament, it be nice to look for some trading goods down there and just look around for the sake of it. I love that city to the point where I wish some times I was a sea elf." A small chuckle to that before he continued on moving, the beat was easy to get use too once one can pin it down really.

"I can beat you both on land or sea." Though she stopped her own dancing and watched as they continued. One trying to keep his pace and the other trying to not fall all over everything. Crossing her arms lightly, "Is Talithia ever going to let that girl wander about?"

He slapped a hand over his face for a moment before giving a frustrated noise and following her back into the palace. Where he threw open the door to the room she was in harshly. "How dare you question me like in public?! You can't ask me to chose between you and the people! If I chose either side, I fail!" He was furious. People talked and as much as he loved her, he had an obligation to his people as well. "I've done nothing but try to make you happy! But you don't want to be happy! You either want to be sad, or stoic, or angry! So if going home makes you happy, then go home!" He couldn't help his yelling this time, she just...grr.

She'd known right after saying it that it had been wrong and way out of line. He had every right to yell at her for it, too. She'd questioned his authority in front of his people and then had the audacity to make him choose. But that didn't mean she was willing to admit it yet. "How dare you order me back to the palace like that? If you would have come and seen how I was this would have never happened!" His last retort made her blink and stare at him. "You want me to...go?" Clenching her fists as a wave of overwhelming sorrow swept over her.

Kyst laughed, "Yes, you can. But only because I'm so busy watching you that I don't pay attention to my spins and movement." Dancing a few more steps. "There's nothing stopping you from visiting Selkor or living down there, Galesen. You can breathe down there with help of the stones and Selkor isn't a closed city." He was of the opinion that elves should be free to do whatever made them happy. That's why he never pushed Isle to do anything she didn't want to. "Eventually. Draewen will push her to do so."

“If you didn’t sulk and lock yourself in rooms, and not stare at me like I’m the most evil thing in the plane then maybe I would be more inclined! I’m not going to beg you for attention, or to forgive me, or anything else! All I was trying to do was help you! You were the one who decided you didn’t want anything to do with me other than be mean.” He stared her down just as she was trying to stare him down, his voice lowering from yelling to just clearly angry and upset. “If it makes you happy to do so. I’m not going to force you to stay here, locking yourself away in rooms and letting yourself waste away more than you already are. Gods know I love you…but I’m not going to love you so much that it turns you into a shell of a woman before it kills you.”
PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2009 4:35 pm

Her voice was small, filled with all the hurt she'd been keeping locked deeply inside. Hurt that he was so frustrated with her, hurt that she felt like he was giving up on her. "I didn't ask you to beg for my forgiveness, just to come check on me once or twice. Would that have killed you?" Her throat worked and she sank back onto the bed then curled herself into a ball as the pain flared up once again and tears began to leak down her cheeks. "I don't really care if I'm happy or not. I'm tired and I'm annoyed all the time...but really, I just don't want to hurt anymore..."

Cue mood swing. "I did. When I tried the door it was locked. I was not going to stand in the hallway begging you to open the door. Locked doors are meant to keep people out, not invite them in." If she wasn't so busy sulking, she'd have known that. A shake of his head as he watched her, still not sorry that he yelled because she deserved it. "Why does it still hurt, is the real question...no one else is suffering like you are. Just you. What is stopping you from feeling the relief that others feel?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2009 4:59 pm

"I locked it without thinking and it must have slipped my mind that it was locked." He was asking a difficult question, one that she knew the answer to but it was still difficult. "Why? Probably because I'm afraid. Grandfather was important to me and I loved him, but I don't grieve this deeply for him alone. I grieve for the pain of losing someone, for the knowledge that he loved me more than his biological grandchild, for the depth of pain those that I am close to feel." Now that she'd begun purging bits of it, it all began to slowly and steadily trickle forth. "And I'm deathly afraid of feeling like this again."

"Firstly you've got to stop comparing yourself to Piper. Everyone wants to say that she's distant because few felt any deep love for her. But she never tried either, she had to share the blame. Secondly...pain can't be avoided Lharika. Time heals old pains while it creates new, that is just the way of the world. You embrace each pain for a time and it holds onto you as you hold onto it...and then the embrace is over and one fades leaving the other free. Stop clinging to it so it can let you go."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2009 5:27 pm

"I suppose. It's not really my place to lay any blame at her feet because she was gone long before I ever came." She wasn't quite sure how to take the second truth he was giving and frowned at him. "I've tried to let it go, Glynnic. It's like a splinter that I can't yank out, a disease that I can't heal. It stays deep inside me and I can't get rid of it no matter what I do."

"Maybe because you don't want to accept the truth. People die Lharika...life isn't meant to be lived forever. Your grandmother will die, Kiearn and Fianna will die, my parents will die, Isleandra will die, you and I will die." Shaking his head, he couldn't help her anymore than he knew how. "I don't know how to make it better Lharika. All I can do is love you and give you the best that I have to give."
