Hello, My name is
    Eira Patil

I Have Been on this Earth for About
    14 Years

I am of the
    Female Gender

I'm staying in dorm number
    Red Dorm 2

I'm currently enrolled in grade number
    9

c o l o r m e p r e t t y

How I Normally Look
Eira takes meticulous care of her appearance, edging on vanity. Every morning she brushes her ashy brown hair, divides it perfectly in half, and weaves it into two braids which hang all the way down her back. Even though her surname is the only attribute that blatantly reveals her great-grandfather's Indian ancestry, she credits her heritage for the coarse sleekness of her own hair. The front half of Eira's hair is too short to stay in braids, so she makes sure to keep it neatly trimmed at two lengths: just above her eyes and two inches below her shoulders.

As another part of her morning ritual, Eira makes sure to cover any blemishes and applies the rest of her makeup as subtly as possible. An untrained eye might not be able to detect any artificiality in her unnaturally flawless skin. Yet, in an era which vastly favors contacts over glasses, Eira prefers her round, rimless spectacles, almost as her personal signature.

Both Eira's posture and clothing are precise and well-maintained. She prefers long-sleeved blouses and will often wear a jacket or vest over them. Skirts or tailored slacks are a necessity, and while she maintains a tasteful array of colors she never risks anything that might be called "loud" or "gaudy."

The rest of her appearance can be aptly described as "average." Eira is five feet and four inches tall, 125 pounds with a B cup size. Her brown eyes, brown hair and skin prone to burning rather than tanning are all typically Caucasian.

Fairytale Appearance
Eira's costuming process is a long struggle to make everything as white as possible. Her hair is released into its full thigh-length glory and powdered until no hint of its original pigmentation shows through. Various products are then added until the locks shine like snow in the moonlight.

Eira's skin--or at least all of it that shows around her elaborate dress--is painted white. Her beloved glasses are swapped out for a a pair of ice-blue contacts and eye shadow to match. The dress itself is the very materialization of someone's concept of "winter;" however this someone was not worried about surviving outside. The gown is off the shoulder, creating a wide neck trimmed with fur. While the torso is opaque, the long sleeves are made out of a light, gauzy material and the entire upper body is tailored to fit like a glove. The effect is to show off all of Eira's curves--some of which are supplemented with strategic padding, a bit of a blow to the young woman's pride.

The skirt is made out of the same material as the sleeves, but layered and embroidered with snowflakes until just by walking Eira looks like she has a baby blizzard hugging her ankles. As a passing nod to actual winter temperatures, she wears a fur cloak--pure white, of course--which is floor length and studded at random intervals with small, sparkling jewels. The entire ensemble is topped off by a crown with six long points, reminiscent of a snowflake with all its arms bent upward. It also sparkles with clear crystals, and Eira's bangs are pulled back underneath it to reveal her widow's peak.

Add a pair of 4-inch stilettos and, in Eira's opinion, the outfit toes the line between "Snow Queen" and "Christmas hooker," but it's a fairy tale outfit. What can one expect, taste?

How I am
The most noticeable characteristic which Eira shares with her fairy tale counterpart is a certain chilly distance. This was, she discovered, a suitable alternative to being completely average. She tries, with some success, to project an attitude of steely calm and indifference towards everything from studying to sports, but in reality Eira puts every ounce of herself into everything she does. It still isn't good enough for her, but if no one knows how hard she tries, she never risks betraying how mediocre she is at most things.

As a result, Eira makes few friends. Some are taken in by the "coolness" of someone who does pretty well without even trying, but they are held at arm's length and never get to know Eira beneath her chilly exterior. Most people don't even bother to acquaint themselves with someone who seems so withdrawn, interested in nothing. Compounded with her obvious care for her own personal appearance, the general impression of Eira tends to be that of a vain, distant young woman. She pretends that she doesn't care about that, either.

The one thing that Eira thinks she is good at is singing. She will while away lonely hours learning various tunes and is a bit embarrassed by how much she enjoys the sound of her own voice; however she would never dream of performing in front of anyone else. Singing is something very personal to Eira and she would hate to have that "taken away" by criticism or teasing from those around her.

She has always considered the fact that she was assigned a villain as a character rather unfair. Eira thinks of herself as a decent person, after all. She tends to oscillate between reinterpreting the story of "The Snow Queen"--she was just trying to give happiness to a damaged little boy--and merely blaming the school for the way it works. Deep down, she knows that her job is to occupy the role as people understand it, not to retell it in a way that soothes her own ego, which makes her all the angrier at the fairy tale status quo. She angrily asks what the heroes and heroines have that she doesn't, but Eira knows that there must be something, something that they are all truly wonderful at the she isn't.

How I came to be

Eira's father is a successful fashion designer and her mother is a recognized biochemist, both on the cutting edge of their respective fields. They met in an amateur chorus after they had both graduated from college and married three years later. After a stillbirth threatened to divide the couple, they had a single daughter whom they agreed to dote upon with little restraint. As something of a joke between them, they decided to name her "Eira," which has the same meaning as the last name which all three now shared. In essence, the child's name was "Snow Snow."

The parents did, however, expect their daughter to share some of their talent--in fact, everyone did. Family and friends waited for her to take up sewing or show an aptitude for math, or anything extraordinary at all. Eira persisted in being average, which seemed to irk her parents more than anything else she could have done.

This was not for lack of effort. In the expensive elementary school which her parents enrolled her, Eira might as well have been, "the girl who tries but never quite gets there." She tried too hard to please people--particularly her parents--which only annoyed them. She tried embarrassingly hard in the most menial of tasks and while it got her some of the praise she craved, it also earned her the title of "suck up." This was not a pleasant title to have among the spoiled children of the socioeconomic elite.

In junior high, she decided that something needed to change. In a 180-degree turn of dizzying rapidity, Eira suddenly couldn't care less about anything. That, anyway, is what she led everyone to believe. The ensuing fights with her parents were a triumph in and of themselves because they were proof that her ruse was working; her mother and father were convinced that she could do so much better if she only put her mind to it. Eira knew that she already had.

When her frustrated parents received an invitation to enroll their daughter in the Ever After Academy, they offered Eira the option. Expecting it to be met with cold indifference, they were surprised when she readily accepted. It seemed like a logical decision to Eira. She agreed in order to come of age in a place where no one knew her parents' names. No one would have unreasonable expectations of her, and she would get to fill a role in a classic fairy tale, handed down through generations. She was, for the first time in a long time, rather pleased with her situation.

This was before she knew she was assigned to play a villain.

There's something else you ought to know
Since Eira spends much of her time alone, she has started talking and singing to her white rabbit, Yuki--yes, a rabbit named "Snow" for a girl named "Snow Snow"--which she hopes to bring with her to her dorm. She doesn't know much about becoming a fairy tale character, but she secretly hopes that some of it will rub off on Yuki and that someday he might be able to talk back.
