Kadacho I can't say I dislike anything about Touhou. But I do dislike the fact that ZUN cancelled the spinoff Touhou anime. Dx I'm actually glad it was cancelled. I'm not too sure about whether a Touhou anime is going to be a good thing or not. They should probably make it in the format of short, unrelated, spin-off stories. Like Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, but in anime format. ll Remilia ll It was fanmade without his permission, and had bad animation/art. They didn't need permission from ZUN to make the anime. As far as I know, he has free licensed the rights to use all the Touhou characters. What ZUN did was to make a post on his blog stating that he was worried about that anime being misunderstood to be an official source. When the Maikaze studios read that, they decided to cancel the show themselves. In my opinion, the art and animation were okay. At least, they're better than ZUN's pre-UFO works. Edit: That link is in Japanese. I'm sorry, but I can't find a decent English translation of it.

Nobody needs ZUN's permission to do any Touhou related doujin work, as long as they follow the proper guidelines (Link also includes some stuff about commercial companies doing Touhou stuff). The problem is that Maikaze was skirting the line. And skirting it quite uncomfortably, which is what prompted ZUN to clarify his stance.

It was decent for low-budget fanmade, but ZUN could get much better people to do it, and make money off of it. Get BONES or Shaft to do the animation and then I'll call it good.
Also, it's really bad compared to some of the animation in the Touhou Kinema Kan Second Curtain PV. They need animation like the first video in that PV. That was so good.
Also, saying something is better than ZUN's pre-UFO art isn't saying a whole lot.

Kinema Kan does take a lot of shortcuts in the animation, particularly the second short (The one that has Reimu and Marisa walking around). The only short that is particularly well made is the YU-MU one, and it's also the shortest one (Less than 3 minutes). The first one is so-so, on the same technical level as the Maikaze anime. The main differences are the animation style and the character designs, but they are, at least, on par. The fact that Maikaze pulled off a full episode of animation, with music and voice, is something that must be lauded. Animation is TOUGH, and big animation studios have the resources to make it happen, with enough professionalism and quality. That Maikaze managed to pull it out, even if it wasn't The Best Thing Ever Period, is pretty damn awesome, if you ask me. I don't think ZUN wants a Touhou Anime to happen, though. And, if you look at the animation industry, you can see that times are changing: Big studios have fragmented, and others have an incredibly reduced amount of work.

Either way, the fanime wasn't made very well, and in all honesty wasn't going to go anywhere. I could tell from the first episode that it was going to be inconsistent and not thought through all the way.
As I said before, ZUN will have an anime made when he's done making games which will happen when he's bored with them since he makes the games for himself. It'll be an easy way to make even more money, so of course he would have one made.

Of course, that doesn't mean I necessarily agree with it all the time, mind you, but it is still an interesting subject of observation and interaction.

If Alice is indeed Tsundere, she's likely a Mild one. Well, if her dialogue is anything(and pretty much anything most have) to go by. So thusly....she may well be one, but in a way that's mostly unnoticable. ...It's either that or Kuudere. Most likely the second, given her habit of(Canonically) Snarking about stuff. And she breaks the 4th Wall often, just look at the SA Extra Stage.
