Hello everyone. ^^ I'm Meriru (I would rather not give my real name in a pubic forum. ehehe).
I'm a Filipino though I was born and raised in America for six years. I am 22 and a 2nd year medical student right now here in the Philippines.
I started liking anime when I was in high school, and then I got interested in learning Japanese when we had a Japanese exchange student. XP I wasn't able to learn much though, because I had no references. So I only started self studying just early last year.
I hope there are other Filipinos around here. XD (Meron ba?)

Hi! I'm Whitney (or winksniper, whichever you prefer) and I'm 15, I live in USA and I've been teaching myself Japanese since June 2008. I love it! I know a lot of Kanji, but I'm still learning more. I'm about intermediate, I guess you could say. I really wanna go to Japan one day and be a graphic novelist. I love Japanese TV (because it's hilarious) and Japanese food (because it's delicious). I'm also a big fan of Anime. My favorite's Utena. 3nodding I also ADORE Japanese music, specifically JPop and JRock. Like the brilliant green, Tommy February6, Tommy Heavenly6, chatmonchy, BaseBallBear, existtrace, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, and HANGRY & ANGRY, as well as Vocaloid and a lotttt more. XD

I'm Ness! I'm 22, I live around New Orleans,La USA and I do my best to incorporate the Japanese culture into my daily life as much as possible. I have always had much respect and admiration for their lifestyles, foods, entertainment and bright flashy hiragana all over everything lol. I'm on my 3rd semester of a 6 semester program to become an automotive tech, for hobbies I play crap tons of japanese video games, digital art and I'm teaching myself japanese...which is going pretty smooth. I'm trying to save up money for a trip to Japan. I'd love to live there, but I don't see it possible since I don't have too much to offer over there...but...it would be pretty amazing if I ever got to go! whee

Hey, I'm Sapphire Spider, you can call me Saph for short. I'm 21. My first anime was Sailor Moon when it was on Cartoon Network's Toonami way back when. Then my new highschool friends got me into more of the popular anime, and now I'm watching anime's I've never even heard of before thanks to Anime club. X3 Karas and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni are two of my top favorites. My roomate is from Tokyo, which is completely awesome to me. XD
I'm really into art and illustration. I love making superhero comic books, which will probably be a career in the not so far future. MY style's a bit of a western and japanese fusion. Because of that a lot of people call my drawings and comics Manga. XP

Hi everyone. My name is Eric, I'm currently 17 and I'm currently trying to self teach myself Japanese. I can read hiragana and katakana so far but Kanji I'm still relatively new to. My vocab is pretty small still sweatdrop .
I've been a fan of anime ever since Pokemon first arrived in Canada and started to spread Japanese culture like wildfire here. My favourite anime has got to be Code Geass (most recent), and I recently just finished it too. It has one of the best endings, though it was kind of rushed. Previous favourite was Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Also, if anyone knows of a program that transforms kanji into hiragana that'd be nice. 3nodding

Hello Everyone! My name Crissie and I pretty much love anything Japanese. I'm 14 years old, will be 15 next month, and I am a freshman in High School. I love to draw or do anything creative. I'm very smart, one of the top in my school, and I like every school subject. I am a bit of an oddball. Ok, more than a bit, but you get the picture. I dress weirder than anyone else, and I'm a little goth, but I do NOT worship the devil!! I hate it when people just assume that. I an NOT emo, nor do I ever wish to become one. I like most Japanese fashion, and I wear it a lot. Some days my mom tells me that I look like one of the characters from the animes that I watch.
I've always love anime and manga. My favorites are +Anima and Death Note, but I'll read anyone of them that I can find. I own about a hundred anime DVD's including Death Note, Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, .hack// Sign, Tekkonkinkreet, plus many more!
I'd love to learn Japanese some day, but for now, I'm happy with just knowing a few basic symbols.

Hello everyone!
My name's Mina, and have been trying to learn Japanese for a few years now, without much success (mostly through Idiots guides and watching anime in japanese with subtitles).
Though I am a fan of anime, that was not what originally drew me to my love of Japan. I didn't even know that the first few shows I remembered getting up every early mornings in grade school were from Japan until 6th grade. I have always loved the landscapes, the music, and the foods that Japan has to offer.
I have been studying classical Japanese culture (mostly history, poetry, and clothing), as well as being a huge fan of anime and manga. Japanese pop culture is something I really haven't been paying attention to (excluding the music), but I'm hoping to change that soon.

Hello there. I am Hoshi, but pretty much you guys can call me Al if you want. I am 18 and I am trying to learn Japanese so I can go study abroad in Japan. I need to learn both the spoken and written word of Japan and self tutoring is not working out.
I can write kanji, but nothing really that can be considered a sentence. I am able to recreate complex kanji though. I am trying to launch a business on this talent. (I could make them for people if I had enough money to buy shirts... T^T)
I hope you all can help me learn this!
