Prince nodded a little and he rubbed some sleep from his eye. He blinked a little and looked down as Ian appeared to still be asleep. Oh, puu. How unfun. Now he didn't have anyone to run around and have fun with. "Yeah. It was good." He yawns on more time and he smiles in his just-awake drowsiness. "Ian was real fun to play with, and with food in my belly and the good sun, it makes me so sleepy."
Gaunt pursed his lips. He was tempted to take Prince out to play some more, but that would mean he would be away from Serenity, just leaving her with the still sleeping Ian. That had to be boring. What to do, what to do. "Well, Prince, what do you want to play on next?"
Prince looked around slowly, then pointed to the series of inter joined wooden blocks that comprised a climbing toy, which reached around six to seven feet off the ground. "I wanna go play on that!"

Serenity looked over where Prince was pointing, and she smiled and nodded in agreement. "It does look fun," she admitted. "Why don't the two of you go climb a bit and I'll finish the painting I was working on?"
She wanted to get it finished before they had to leave for the day, so that she could show it to Gaunt.

He nods slowly. Well, she did say it was okay. "Alright, Prince! Lets go!"
"Yayyyy!" Exclaimed Prince as he took off for the toy, Gaunt following close behind. The young Second climbed all over it, probably playing Fort in his mind somewhere as he jumped, hopped, made noises, and swung his arms around in some climactic battle up the steps of some castle. Of course, Gaunt was right there as the Surprise had his fun, making sure he woudln't fall.

Serenity watched the two play while she painted, and now that she was less distracted her painting was going much faster than it had been before. It was not long before the details were completed, and she quickly slipped it into her bag so that it could dry without risk of being damaged.
Just as she finished closing her bag again, Ian began to stir.
"Mom?" he murmured, opening his eyes sleepily. "Where's Prince?"
He spotted his friend playing on the blocks with Gaunt, and suddenly he was wide awake. "I'm gonna go play with them!" he announced, running off at top speed.
Serenity giggled and stretched, then rose to her feet and followed after him at a more casual pace.

Prince blinked when he saw Ian was running toward him. He waved, and still made his fighting motions. "Hurry, Ian! The enemy is about to overtake the castle! Come help me! Hyaaah!" He kept swinging his arms in this fake swordfight.
Gaunt looks up and smiles as he sees Serenity walking toward him. "Hmm. So did you get it done, hon?"

Ian's eyes grew wide and he tried to run a little faster. "I'm coming!" he gasped. "Don't let them get you!" And he drew his own little imaginary sword and started stabbing at things as he climbed up the blocks towards Prince, fully intent on rescuing him from the enemy.
Serenity giggled at Gaunt, blushing ever so faintly at the familiar term. "I did," she smiled happily. "It's just drying in my bag, I just hope it's done before we all have to go back home."
She reached for his hand and held it warmly in her own. "So what big adventure is Prince off on?" she asked with a grin.

Prince continued to fight the imaginary enemy, soon standing at the top block and continuing the valiant fight! "haaah! Yaaah! Nnnn! I won't let you take the castle, you scum!" He did the best he could to keep fighting, the back of his heel striking the triangular pinnacle set into the back of the top block. "Oh no! They almost got me!"
Gaunt laughs softly and he shakes his head slowly. He gently squeezes her hand and he shrugs. "Who knows? It seems Prince has decided that a bunch orcs. Or vampires. Or zombies. Or who-knows-what is trying to take over his castle." He chuckles and he smiles warmly at her. "And I really do hope that I can see your picture. I'm kinda anxious to see how it turns out."

Ian giggled and kept right on climbing. "I'm coming!" he grinned. "Don't worry, I'll save you!"
He stopped a few blocks below Gaunt and pulled out an imaginary bow, and started picking off the enemy one by one.
Serenity giggled. "I hope not orcs," she said, half-seriously. "They're a rather nasty piece of work. The others, I think they'll be fine."
She blushed when he asked about the picture. "Well ... once it's dry, there's one more thing I want to try ... I mean if it doesn't work, that will be fine, but I hope it will because it will just be fun."
Then the only question would be, who would get to keep it?

Once he noticed that Ian was providing him ranged support, he started to 'press' forward as if he was starting to gain an advantage. "Good work, Ian! We might just win yet! I coudln't do it without you!"
Gaunt chuckles softly as he shrugs once more and nods. "Well. Yeah, orcs are nasty. But, I'm just a normal human. They're all nasty to me. Or at least I don't stand a chance against them alone." He glances at her and he smiles softly. "Oh? So you're keeping more secrets from me about the painting? The suspense builds." He chuckles lightly.

Ian continued to shoot, faster and faster. "We'll get 'em all!" he boasted, his face set in concentration. "Take that, you blackguards! We'll get you! You'll wish you never attacked! Ha!"
Serenity giggled and squeezed Gaunt's hand. "For all intents and purposes," she reminded him, "I'm like a normal human as well. They're all nasty to me, too. It's just that there's every possibility that I might run into an orc sometime, and the thought scares me. The others I don't think I'll ever see, so I don't worry about them so much."
She reached up and tapped the tip of his nose lightly with one finger. "Anyone can paint what they see," she winked, teasing him. "An artist paints what isn't necessarily there."

Once Prince and Ian met, Prince dropped his voice and sounded menacing as he called out. "You havn't won yet, you hear? The best has yet to come! Wahaha!" Prince then returned to his voice and gasps. "Lord DarkTalon is here! If we can defeat him now we'll end the war!"
Gaunt laughs softly and he smirks lightly at her. "Oh, so I have faeries flitting about me, is that it?" His voice was light and playful, like it wasn't a serious suggestion. "That's cute and everything, but I'd prefer it if you managed to put yourself in there somehow." He smiles warmly at her.

Ian's face lit up with triumph. "We'll get you, you Lord DarkFace! Just wait'll you feel my arrows! Lord Prince, forward!"
And he let out a warcry and let loose with a rain of imaginary arrows as fast as his arms would let him.
Serenity laughed and slipped one arm around Gaunt's waist. "I knew I should have gone for the fairies instead of the sprites," she giggled. "Ah well, too late now."
She giggled again, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she looked at him. "You're just going to have to be patient and see," she taunted him, "because no matter what you do I'm not giving you any hints about what it might be."

Prince started to slash his way down the blocks. Of course DarkTalon would be waiting outside somewhere. The main villain never came into the castle itself, but waited in some big battlefield for some epic duel of some sort. "Yeah! We're gonna kick your face in, DarkButt!"
Gaunt glances at the boys and chuckles and shakes his head slowly. They were being silly He chuckles softly as he returns his attention to Serenity. "Mmn. Oh well. Sprites work too. As long as you don't put in nymphs. I'm sure you'd be a little jealous for your own painting if you used nymphs." He laughs softly and he nods slowly. "Alright, alright, fine. No more hints, but in return you can stop teasing me about it."

Ian laughed shortly and then tried his best to hold it in - this was far too serious a situation to be laughing! He kept shooting as he hopped down the blocks just ahead of Prince.
"On to victory!" he cheered. "Forward, ho!"
Serenity laughed. "You make it sound as if that's a deal for me," she grinned. "What if I'm having fun teasing you?"
IN her head she mentally calculated how long it would take to dry, then looked up at the sky to see how much longer they had before they would have to leave. There would be time, she decided, if they stayed until almost dinner.

Prince shouted out. "Hey! Archers are supposed to be behind the fighters! We gotta protect you so you don't die too!" He pouts a little. There wasn't really room for him to get around Ian unless Ian moved aside - or risk pushing Ian off or sending himself off by trying to get around him.
He smirks at Serenity and he shrugs a little. "In that case.." He turns toward her and gently takes the tip of her ear between his teeth, gently nibbling on it before he whispered into said ear. "Then I guess I can tease back."
