((Landa...Franz office is like...a good amount of space. He's around 20 feet away from the door, and the door is in the middle of the wall. Keep that in mind ^_^ The opposing wall is about 30 feet in front of you. So it wouldn't be possible to trip him. That's why he's in the corner placement.))

((He's also just lost his sword... >.>))

Reaching the doorway behind landa just as she ducked, she instinctively brought her own sword up to block it. Hearing the clang of metal hitting metal, she picked up the blade without a second thought and sort of dive-rolled over the mermaid so that she ended up behind a couch.

Peeking over, she spotted Arkus, hurt badly as his ankle seemed to have practically shattered. She had both swords in hand now, ready to fight anyone if need be. Though while she was surveying the room, she noticed a shadowed corner where something moved. Instantly she threw a globe of darkness into that corner before leaping away, she then stood up and sort of rolled over the couch, landing nimbly on her feet as she actually tip-toed over there so that she was about five feet away from the globe, swords at the ready.

((Well! Now it's time for some REAL action! Super ELF action!))

Z'Kort shrugged when the drow cursed at him for possibly giving their position away. There was little other way for him to figure out where the door could be located either way. The elf leaned back against the wall as the small group argued what would be done. Apparently, Arkus was going to get his way and ram in.

"Well, I could finaggle my way-" Too late, the minotaur had already rammed through the wall. He heard a gunshot and his immediate reaction kicked in, sending him flat against the floor in a blur.

"THA HELL?!?!" Kort glanced up and watched as the two women launched themselves into the room. Well, there was little else to do but head in there as well. He quickly trotted over and glanced at the fallen comrade. That sucked, the elf couldn't heal without some sort of tree nearby. He glanced around. Potted plant, anyone? Z'Kort frowned, obviously this man was not some plant activist, there wasn't a shrubbery in sight.

"What's he got against plants?" He muttered, ripping off a piece of his pants and tying it around Arkus's ankle before hurtling off behind cover. "Good job, buddy, keep up the good super tackling!"

Kort danced and rolled towards a coffee table and kicked it, upsetting the thing and using it as defense. At least the man had good taste in furniture, looked like he favored steal pieces.

The elf smiled, pulling out an assortment of street knives bought off some gangsters a long time ago. He palmed them and tested their weight. It'd been a while since he'd even looked at them. Z'Kort sighed, there was little else to do, so he might as well use them.

Quickly putting two into place, the speedster's ears twitched. Delicate ear drums tried to pin-point where the opponent might be with little luck. "Somehow, I get the feeling this guy was expecting us and he knows what he's doing."

Franz watched the globe of darkness launched at him. He waved his hand and it dissapated in midair. He slowly walked from the shadows, a frown on his face. "You insects believe you can stop me? I am a efreeti! I will crush you with a thought." Franz lifted the special weapon and fired at the couch and watched it explode, and then fired down at the mermaid, helpless on the ground. His eyes traced along to each person. "I've been experimenting something for a long time...if you defeat me look under that pad on the desk. You'll find out something I've found..." He then pulled out another weapon ready to fire it.

((Yeah, so did he...throw his sword? *cough* Well, anyways, it was a desperate move from Na'fiel anyways... Hey Light? Who's this 'Landa that I see? All I see is Na'fiel *cough* blaugh WOOT! Longness! biggrin domokun ))

Na'fiel cursed as her trip completely missed. Damnit, she didn't calculate the distance that he was from the door. Her mistake was definately realized when a bullet went whizzing by, clipping her in the shoulder and sending her flying from the impact.

Instinctively, her hand clamped around the wound. Thankfully, it hadn't lodged inside her arm, but it had given her quite the nasty cut. Blood seeped through her fingers as she slid back, grimacing from the pain. All right, perhaps just charging in was a bad idea. Her left arm was all but useless now.

Looking over, she saw that Arkus had been hit in the ankle. Okay, so two of them were out of the fight for now and the elf didn't seem to have much prowess in that area anyways. Na'fiel looked around frantically for some means to gain an advantage. Something...anything...

First of all, she found cover behind a stand which housed an expensive looking pottery piece. A weapon, she needed some kind of weapon. Anything would do. Fists and feet wouldn't be enough against this foe. Desperately, she looked around. He looked rich enough, there would have to be something...something here. Anything that could be used for a weapon. Come on!

The pain in her arm was intense and bleeding freely. However, she didn't find anything here to be remotely useful. She steeled herself as two long needle-like spines came out from her wrists.

"Distract him!" she shouted before rushing out again, her wrists ready to inject him. Even if not, they were sharp enough to cause some pain. Rather than run straight, she ran in a odd, zigzag pattern, trying to keep away from whatever weapon that he had. Hopefully, this would work.

Arkus swore loudly in his native tongue which sounded like the mixture of a caveman's grunt and a bull's roar. He hit the ground, blocking any further attempts to blow his ankles out with the door, which hit the floor on a thin side as he hunched down behind it. He heard the sounds of combat as he huffed and puffed, grunting as he moved forward.

Thankfully the elf tied his ankle up and he was feeling a tad better; the blood had stopped painting the floor and it was now, instead, soaking the makeshift bandage instead.

He gave a nod of thanks as the elf danced away. "Stupid." Arkus thought. "He's unarmed. Should've stayed... behind the door with me..." He huffed, wincing at the pain. It felt like there was nothing left of his ankle. This kind of wound only meant one thing to a minotaur. It meant you were going to die...

And so as Arkus heard something that sounded like Na'fiel running, and her shouting, he put his hands against the door, ready to fulfill what she had desired.

He stood up on both legs with a loud shout, lifting the door above his head, his muscles bulging as he poured his strength into his arms, launching the door like a frisbee, only without the spin, towards Franz's chest.

If anything, it would not only distract him, but if it connected, it could possibly kill him, even. The throw could probably cut a man in two...

Knowing that his cover was now blown and flying towards his foe, he limped in a run, hunched over on all fours, using three limbs and saving his fourth the work. It was awkward, sure, but it got the job done.

He followed what the elf did, finding a large table and setting it up in a defensive posistion with a well aimed backhanded slap, resting his back against it (but not too heavily, because then the table would've fallen) and laying out his leg in front of him, breathing heavily. Damn, his ankle burned like the fires of hell! He was surprised his hoof wasn't on the other side of the room!

But this was not the way of the warrior, the warrior that Arkus was.

So he grabbed the leg of the table and pulled down on it, using his back as a support for the main section of the table.

He had, in his hand, now, a makeshift steel club. It would certainly give someone a nasty bump...

And unlike his steel knuckles, it could be thrown. Lucky Franz. He had a wounded minotaur against him now. One thing about wounded animals is that... they typically fight harder than their uninjured comrades...

Franz let out a scream and a instant wall of fire surrounded him. The door burned up instantaneously. If Na'fiel was too close to the fire it would burn her even if she wasn't touching it or near it. Being a creature of the water, it would hurt even more. Third degree burns across her body with burning flesh. Franzs' eyes were now red, glowing, and demonically evil. "You dare test my powers? I will destroy your infintile ways. You will not survive me!" He pulled his second weapon up, a revolver, and began to chant. It was consumed in flames but didn't burn. He then let out a final word and fired four times. One at each of the 'heroes' in the room. Whatever they were behind, no matter what, would instantly begin to burn. "Feel the power of the infernal fire!!!"

"s**t!" she thought, having to change directions at the last moment and flying towards the right and under a steel table. Though her clothes were singed, she wasn't too badly harmed from the flames, thankfully. Na'fiel didn't know how to handle fire, she was a water creature. Flames baffled her.

Though she escaped several nasty burns, she wasn't prepared for the bullet that came flying at her only a moment later. Since she was under the table, it hit her hip, going right through her since the aim was a tad off. Waves of pain shot through the entire left side of her body. She didn't know how lucky she was that it didn't hit the table. Resisting the urge to cry out, Na'fiel gathered her strength and moved to the other side of the table, flipping it up like a barricade. She then leaned against it, breathing heavily. Her arm wasn't in the best of conditions and now her hip. Basically, the entire left side of her body was out of commission, now.

"Damn it all," she said and gave several soft swears under her breath. He must have some kind of weakness. Some place where he wasn't so well protected! Even gods had weaknesses...

Briefly, she wondered if the others had been badly wounded. Hopefully not, even the elf. However, Na'fiel was in bad condition. Every move she made sent shockwaves of pain all through her body. Trying to block it out was pretty much futile.

"I won't give up," she vowed to herself, silently, "Never..."

Arkus heard the shot, and acting as quickly as he could think, he rammed the table he was behind with an elbow, hurling it up into the fiery ball and allowing it to stop the blast momentarily while he rolled out of the way, a searing hole in the floor where he had been only moments before.

Attempting to stand so he could roll out of the way, still holding his makeshift steel club, he realized something. His roll had just screwed up his ankle even more... Dammit all!

Ducking behind a meager steel chair, he tossed the club away, not really noticing that he had cast it to where the elf was hiding, giving him a weapon that he probably couldn't even use. Poor fool...

Arkus picked up the chair by a leg and figured this would be better than the little table leg he had pulled from the table that was now destroyed. And decided it was time to act like the warrior he was.

He charged Franz, figuring that he was, at least, distracted by Na'fiel or someone else, approaching him rapdily, even for his wound, with the steel chair above his head in one hand and the other hand out in front of him in order to possibly stop a blow this man could deal out. Though for some reason he doubted he could stop a blow from a djinn...

He ran forward and saw an opening as he finished dealing out his rounds, and vowed to avenge whoever had been wounded by this man. Including himself. The man fought dirty; he didn't use the weapons of his foes. He used his powers that were nearly divine but showed he was weak. He needed them, without them he was nothing.

He brought the chair down, aiming for Franz's head. The blow could probably knock him unconcious, not to mention possibly crush his skull...

Kort looked down at the club thrown off to the side. "Fun, because I can carry one of those monstrocities," he muttered, watching everyone scramble around and try to attack. Z'Kort watched as Arkus launched himself and a chair at Franz.

The elf hopped up and leaned over the table he hid behind, chucking the knife in his hand at the man. It aimed towards his side, from the left of the minotaur's attack. If only they could all organize and attack at the same time. This man might be strong, but he wasn't invincible. At least, I don't think he is, Kort thought, smiling sardonically. What a useless effort this would be if Franz was invincible.

He slid back down behind the table, staring at the club-like object. Z'Kort glanced around the table, trying to spot his other comrades. Na'Fiel didn't look too hot, and the elf frowned. Obviously the mermaid was not atuned to the art of bullets. He glanced over the other direction, what was the drow doing? She had dashed somewhere off after trying a hit on their target with little success.

Kort got up into a half crouch and made his way to the other side where the mermaid was. Good thing I move fast, he mused. Otherwise I might be dead right now. Probably Franz didn't see him as much of a threat, he wasn't really attacking, afterall. The elf quickly slid behind Na'Fiel's table, one knife out and ready.

"Hello, I'll be your midwife today," he said conversationally. The speed demon ripped another piece of his pants out to wrap her arm with. Something told him that he didn't have enough pants in his wardrobe to even bandage up her hip. "That's a might find coupla wounds ya got there." Z'Kort joked in a southern accent, light-hearted as he usually was.

He tied the strip of cloth tightly around the woman's arm, wishing there was a plant in the room. Goddam good elf earth magic needing goddamn plants.

"Those spines effective?" Kort gestured to her arms. "'Cause if they are, I can run around and be distracting to the man and you can pin cushion him." He grinned, "Wonder if he's straight?"

Na'fiel groaned softly as he bandaged her arm. It hurt...a lot...what kind of bullets did this guy use?! It felt like her arm was on fire.

"I have enough venom here to knock a full grown man unconcious," she murmured, looking at her meagre weapons. Though they didn't look very sturdy, they had the strength of steel. Almost impossible to break.

"Then again, this isn't an ordinary man," she reminded him, leaning against the table to try and get back into a crouch. The movement was painful, definately and she almost gave up before finding a better position that didn't disturb her hip so much.

"If you can distract him, I'll inject and we'll see what happens. Perhaps he's just vulnerable to the poison," she shrugged, doubting the prospect, but shrugging just made her arm sore. Na'fiel made a mental note to stop doing so until it was healed.

"Don't get yourself killed," she muttered, glancing around the table to see the minotaur charging blindly at Franz. Idiot... That wasn't going to get them anywhere!

((Well since I want this rp to last a lot longer than the first boss fight...hehe))
Franz watched the minotaur pierce his fire wall. Well...now he had a flaming minotaur running at him. The flames wouldn't hurt Franz, and neither would the disentegrating chair, but those arms would. Franz dropped the guns and moved quickly. His fist came up and connected with the minotaurs gut, just as the bull mans' arms would hit him.

Amazingly Franzs' punch would throw the minotaur across the room. But less damage would occur. Franz would hit the ground, his eyes wide open and whitened. His mouth agape, a bit of drool leaking out. His neck was broken, obvious from the bones sticking out. Franz Draco was dead. The fire around him didn't go down, and neither did the fire affects. Na'fiel would need someone to heal her beyond physically...for infernal fire worked at the mental and physical...

Hybrid walked through the S.W.A.T members rushing in. They didn't even seem to notice him, yet fully avoided him as they ran. Hybrid would walk out into the street and look back up. Suddenly the utter darkness that had surrounded the building disappeared. Hybrids' eyes looked down at Azriel before he turned walking away. He had left his team behind...for what purpose? Few would know...

Arkus struggled backwards, knowing that he was on fire but not really caring; bull hide was tougher than most and would take longer to develop dangerous burns.

But this stuff burned like the fires of Hell! He began to roll on the ground, getting most of the flames out except for on some extremities. He managed to get those out as well, and sat up, not realizing that his shirt was burned completely off, exposing his now-burnt brown-skinned chest, which flexed with muscles that would make an opposing professional wrestler squeamish.

He stood up, his pants somewhat charred but in good enough condition, not really minding most of the small burns all over his body, satisfied that his punch had broken the man's neck. He had figured that he would have to resort to his bare hands, but he didn't want it any other way...

He stood up, shaking his head and clearing some burnt folicles of thin, brown manelike hair from the back of his neck, and then checking his horns. If anything, they had been fire-hardened...

He looked around, making sure most of the people were okay. The fire had seared his wound shut, not really numbing the pain much but at least it wasn't bleeding like crazy...

"You know." The minotaur huffed. "Hybrid was nuts for sending us in here without a medic of some sort..." He said, clutching his stomach. Damn, that man had a mean punch to him... Ah well, he had done far, far worse to Franz...

(I'll edit if it wasn't me who broke his neck xd I was confused <_<)
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:46 am

((Yes you broke his neck, probably not purposefully since Arkus would have lost the chair, and more or less his arms just swung down with Franz in the wrong place at the wrong time...oh...and you should check the desk before the S.W.A.T team gets up there...You are going to jail by the way ^_^ And you'll get what Hybrid promised...you'll be very famous...well, infamous but still close enough right? wink ))

The S.W.A.T team quickly was moving up the stairs, through the building and around people. Either these were trained professionals, or lucky individuals...the team wasn't sure, but those people on the 20th floor wouldn't be getting out without jail...possibly even death...

Hissing a curse towards the efreeti, Zaniah launched herself away at the first feeling of heat about her. Rolling on the ground she dropped her swords and smothered the flames on her clothes with her hands. This though, had taken quite a while to do, since there was a considerable ammount of clothes of hers that had caught on fire.

Picking the blades up again, she was about to rush foreward, just as Arkus came flying towards her and she just barely got out of the way when he landed. Muttering a string of harsh curses now, she got up once more, only to find the man they were after dead, his tongue lolling out of his mouth unpleasantly. Clenching her teeth together, she was royally pissed off about not getting a chance to fight. Walking over to the desk, she noticed the papers were still soaked from the sprinklers and began searching, looking at documents untill one caught her eye...

But it was also when she noticed that there was blood on her hand, staining the white paper. Frowning, she looked at herself and noticed it coming from her side. Her ears still rung from the gun-shot, and realised she must have been hit. She had long ago come to accept and ignore pain easily, but now that she had noticed it, a tingling, burning sensation began to flood her. Still clutching the paper, she groaned and sank to her knees.

"Fine bloody tastic.." She muttered, her ears twitching though when she heard a new sound, heavy footfalls echoing and making the floors vibrate, if only a little... "We need to get out of here!" She called to the others, forcing her body to it's feet by sheer mental power as she cloaked herself in a numb feeling that eased the pain in her side a bit.

The paper was still clenched in her hand, but even though she could speak english, reading it hadn't come so easily to her. But she could make out a few words...

((And Chaos, since I have NO clue what the paper's suppose to say.. take it away xd ))
