"If anyone is to blame for this mess, or rather, for not preventing it, it is I. Maero isn't at fault here, it's me" Kat idly twirled the hammer in his hand. "Hell, I egged it on. I couldn't have stopped this, but I didn't, Because I don't trust you Rouchlos...you say we are free to leave? How does your King feel about that?" Kat pointed the spear-tip at Rouchlos, growling, fliping his hair back. "I know he is here, I feel his energy, I remember that dark feeling...I am seriously doubting that he would let me go so easily. So, what do you plan on doing with us, Rouchlos? And don't give me anymore crap about we are free to leave."

((dang thats a lot to browse and take in!! lol. lets get to work))

"All you have on me Brom, is a few hundred years." Rouchlos comments his voice calming down slightly as his hand was also gripping tightly to his sword. his eyes were aflame in rage and anger and he was just a signals warning away from unleashing a furry of hell upon this man. That was until Mearo stepped forwards. looking like a young woman who just saw a battle instead of the leather hardened soul he figured her to be. having lived for so long. Her please did not fall on deaf ears nor a stone cold soul, thought Kat did kind of ruin his moment of self engagement. He sighed deeply lowering his head for a moment his hand gripped his sword even tighter at that moment, just in case Kat or Brom tried to make use of his weakness.
"When i brought you here Kat." Rouchlos comments looking right at the man in a serious face and honest eyes. "I did not bring you here as bait for my king. " HE comments figuring all but Mearo had figured it out all ready might as well tell the world his alegence "I meant what i said, you were my guests. and were free to leave as soon as you were rested and willing so long as you promised to come back and visit. but now that i have my orders. I'll tell you this." Rouchlos comments his voice getting stronger and more resolute as he stepped forwards towards the man. "You may go, HE said so himself." Rouchlos tell Kat standing no more then a few inches from his so there could be no mistake. "How ever Mearo, i would ask that you please stay. I promise that nothing ill will befall you. but i must beg and insist that you stay here." he was doing his best to ignore the old man and continue on with his mission.

"So he is here..."

"And if she wishes otherwise? What will you do then?" said Brom to Rouchlos. He was laughing on the inside. A few hundreds? Ha! Try alot more than that my dear boy.

"Then i will jsut have to sut you down with Kat, and make sure she stay's" was Rouchlos's first reaction but he kept that in side his head as his eyes never looked away from Mearo. Blatantly ignoring Brom, Rouchlos figured that he would get his own soon enough.
"Mearo, will you stay?... with me?" Rouchlos comments getting a loud an defiant what from his dragon as she snooped in on his conversation.

((Um...I hope everyone is not waiting for me to post because I am under the impression that Tsubasa is next in line for that positon?!))
PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2010 2:37 pm

(( sorry for the waitXD been sick, injured, sick again, friend went missing.. its been one heck of a few weeks..O.o'))

Maero felt like the fate of everyone here rested on her shoulders all of a sudden. Suddenly was responsible for the fate of too many people...
Rouchlos certainly knew how to ask in a way that tugged at the girls sympathetic heartstrings. But what was the better course of action.
Her eyes flickered from Rouchlos's, to those of Brom and Kat, then down to the dead on the ground...
..this is my fault... I should have stopped the fight before it got this far... they died trying to keep us from leaving. So then-

Aibou! Don't do anything rash!

If we had to escape!...can you do it?

Her answer took a bit too long.. but she felt the mental nod from her dragon.

...alright..

She finally raised her head to face her host, savour, and possibly her captor...
"For the sake of the fallen, I wish not their devotion to go pointlessly... I will stay to hear your piece, but when I must leave, I will. My dragon needs the freedom required of me to give her, and it cannot be found within this confinement. Before the world, she comes comes first...understand?"
Almost immediately after she said this, she looked to Brom and Kat, " But I am to stay you must promise to let them leave unhindered, in spite of what has transpired. Alright? And when I choose to leave, you must let me."

Kat nearly dropped his hammer in surprise from Maero's statement. he recovered his composure and stood infront of Maero before getting on his knees so he could look her in the eyes. He knew nothing he could say would change her mind, but he also knew the King was a being of pure evil. Kat's mind raced with thoughts, he shook his head slightly then smiled at Maero.

"I'm not going to abandon you here, little one." he said quietly before standing back up "I'm going to stay by your side, and protect you from anyone who might want to harm you." he steped to Maero's right side and gripped his hammer tightly, he stared daggers at Rouchlos, wanting to kill him right then and there, but knowing that would only put Maero at jepordy, he calmy stood by her side, siently, he was going to be her Aegis, and woe be to those who sought to harm her.

Smiling softly Rouchlos walk up to Mearo ignoring all of Kat's protests, glares, and silent threats on his life. Softly taking Mearos hand in his he holds onto her skin softly as he smiled looking into her eyes. "Thank you mearo. You will not regret it." HE comments kindly before letting go of her hand and slowly stepping back. Turning towards Brom.

"There you have it Brom. They have chosen to say, and until you came in they were not in any danger." Rouchlos comments though there was a bit of venom in his voice as his eyes turned from Mearo to the old man. "Though as requested I Will allow you to leave, unharmed. So long as you can stand an escort till you're beyond our walls." he comments his words having an instant reaction on his men as they all calmed down. The wall of shields broke up instantly and everyone went about their duties though three men stuck around for the escort and, another fifteen stayed to tend to the dead and dying as was their lands customs.

Brom looked down at the young girl before him. She was brave for her age, a trait that could benefit and both curse her depending on how she used it.

"Little one," spoke Brom quietly, "Even if you stay now, he will not let you leave late even if you wish to do so as you say. Then you will be on your own. I doudt that your friend here will be around much longer despite your wishes and his." Brom looked at Rouchlos, "Accidents happened alot in this line of work. For that I know all to well." Brom cracked his neck and stretched his shoulder suddenly as he spoke to Rouchlos, "...and just so you know young man, your men insisted. Do not put their stupid on my hands."

"Do not let the girl leave no matter what. I do not need this one permission to have her stay!" The voice roared in Rouchlos head as if was bouncing off his skull like a ping pong balls. The King didn't care for the men, despite one being Brom, he only wanted the girl and he didn't care if she was of her free will or forced into staying here.

Brom head suddenly reared up and then down to Kat's, "Young man, if you must, kindly force your escort of the young female rider out of here. You won't have anyone get in your way. The elves you met earlier will find you shortly after you get pass these walls, go with them but do not doing anything they say other than follow them away from here. I will be joining you later." Brom moved infront of the two riders and tapped his blade on the ground in unknown rythm. He was infront of Rouchlos now, "Oh and I forgot to mention something to you. I hope you enjoy your new entrance."

The room suddenly shook violent sending everyone to their hands and knees. A cloud of dust and debris filled the room of dazed people that tried desperately to rise to their feet and weapons. Mearo felt someone grab her shirt and before she could fight back, the hand picked her off her feet and threw her back towards Kat. The young rider was on his feet, weaponed in hand. Behind him laid a new cave with light at the very end of it. The walls were still glowing red from the heat of the spell that had formed it.

Brom's sword glinted in the dust. "I don't have to tell you to move again do I young man," bellowed Brom to Kat as he went on the attack. He knew Mearo attitude towards violence, but this was no time to act kindly on it. There were times for such sacrifice, but now was not such a time. There were things much bigger than she could understand happening now that refused to allow her give into Rouchlos wishes.

*Kings Chambers*

The King's face was a mix of scowls and growlings frowns. The old ex-rider had pulled on over on him. He had spread himself far to thin and he could not afford to lose a brand new female rider.

"DO NOT LOSE HER!"

His voice echoed through out the cave halls and Rouchlos complex. His anger flowing them just much. He could waste such anymore of his energy on acquiring Mearo. He needed else where. "You best not fail me Rouchols!"

*Relena chambers*

Relena eyes opened slightly and despite her condition a smile formed on her lips and grew into a pleased grinned. She looked over to Gwen and the young infant. "Gwen..." She could hear the guards guarding them running off despite their orders to stay no matter what. "...run!"

Maero had thought she was doing the right thing. The deaths of those men HAD to be given meaning. Call it naive if you will, but she couldn't just say no after such meaningless blood shed. Mearo wasn't so naive though to trust everyone here.
No, it didn't take the horror stories of Kat and Brom to make her weary of the King. But Mearo had never met him, so who was she to judge him?

But Alas.
You can only do so much before life.
Fate. Whatever force you'd like to name, decides to interviene dispite your own will or wishes.
Takes you by the scruf of your neck, or in this case, her tunic shirt, and throws you down another direction!

All around her the room rummbled, like a mighty earth quake threatened to split the rock apart! It put such pressure on her ears! She too was holding them, before all of a sudden she was in someone's arms.

Then a voice.
A voice so angry, so cold... so very cold...
And loud! Powerful- could it be?!
Was that the sound of the King?! ...what was this feeling?

She didn't like it- and neither did Eleniel. She growled, feeling her riders newly born fear. Fear of the source of that voice. She could tell so much from the sound of it. Was that really the one and the same Brom and Kat refused to see, and the one Rouchlos served?!

Maero looked up at Kat confused- the light at the end of the tunnel glimmered in the distance, and suddenly she felt overtaken by her dragons desire to escape.

~ We're leaving Maero! I'm sorry- I know what you're feeling-... but I don't think Rouchlos will come with you.~

"Rouchlos!" She could see him beyond the figure of Brom who was fighting the men off, buying them time, his form a shifty shadow behind the billowing dust. "Rouchlos please!- come with us! Rouchlos don't stay he-"

But her voice fell short, and her body went slack. Eleniel had sealed her eyes, and pushed her into unconciousness. When her eyes re-opened, they were the luminious spheres of her dragon, they looked up at Kat. " I can only hold her for so long- she's a stubborn one. She cares too easily over the foolish. So hurry." she said, her growling voice rippling from Maero's lips.
Obviously she was keeping Maero from struggling, so he could carry her easier without any trouble. She even felt lighter, more theh lighter, praactically weightless! A side effect from the shifting of personalilties.

Kat covered his face from the dust, coughing from the sudden rush of wind, forcing some of the dust into his lungs. looking up at the hole, then at Brom, and then at Maero, who was now being controled by her dragon. There are three rules to life: You wait for things to happen, you can make things happen, or you can wonder 'What the hell just happened?' In this moment, Kat was in the middle of rule three. then, when Kat heard the voice of the king, he snapped back to reality.

"Oh damn, he's pissed!" Kat said in surprise, quickly he brought his fingers up to his lips and let out a shrill whistle. The ground started to shake as he lifted Maero up and flung her over his shoulder. Tenchi came bounding into the room at full throttle lowered his head enough for Kat to jump over it and onto his neck, running down his faithful companion's spine until he was in the middle of his back, sitting down and craddling Maero in his arms like a child, leaning forward to protect her from any falling debris.

"We've got to move, Tenchi! Go, Go, GO!" He screamed over the din of battle, Tenchi lept into the air and soared towards the opening, before they flew through it, Kat called down to Brom.

"Stay alive, old tops, I've got questions for you later!" Tenchi soared out of the new opening and into the sky, and away from the hide out. Ripping through the sky at incrediable speeds, Kat sighed and leaned back on his mount, looking down at Maero. "Seriously...what would you do without me?" he said half-laughing as the aderline in his system started to fade. 'Tenchi...lets look for the Elves, they might be able to help us out in this situtation' Tenchi nodded and started flying towards the outside of the mountains, in search of the Elves.

((... this should be fun to recover from lol) Btw Relena I'm going to god mode Brom for a little bit. he wont die so you can still make his escape. razz )

"What the hell was that?" Ruko shouts out blatantly and loudly making damn sure that he was herd over the rumbling earth and the fear tat gripped the men's hearts like the touch of death.
"Get up! Rally all the troops you can! Lock down all the exits and Purge the halls. leave no one who is not your brother or sister to die on the way side!" he shouts quickly and sharply to the 50 some odd men that were struggling to their feet. though the fire that was contained in his voice was Fare more then enough to get all of them on their feet and moving out the many doors to spread the word and begin their orders. "NOW YOU DAMNED FOOLS! YOUR HERD HIM YOUR SELF! THE KING WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!" He screams again causing every last man to jump into a dead sprint filled with fear. Ruko was gripping the handle of his sword watching as the smoke cleared from the hole Brom had blasted into the mountain side. His heart stopped for a short moment as he was entranced by the raw power that the world of magic held, with the power to move mountains how had Rouchlos not gotten the desire to rule in place of the king? Shacking his head he returned quickly to the rooms center desk knowing his place and orders of command and control. Rouchlos would prefer to much to be in the fight.

***

with out even letting the dust settle enough to clear the halls hundred's if not thousands of men women and a few young boys were running left and right. Each end every one of them brandished in their own style of armor but all of them had a scarf tied to their head's. the color did not matter at this point it was just a flood of feet and edges poised to strike and slaughter any one who was not showing their colors. All of the men that were inside the room where Brom had blasted his way through the wall had cleared out downing their colors, and prepared a party to search after the lost riders. and if they could lock down the one fool who let them out.

***

" Sulfur... take to the skies, chase them down, and then bring them down. I dont care how you do it. Just make sure that Maero Is unharmed. If you can bring her back to me." He thinks to his dragon as she quickly launched her massive body into the sky and braking past the mountains mouth. She was larger, stronger and a good bit older then Kats dragon so she would have little trouble catching up to them. All she would have to do would be find their oh so unique scent, lock on to it and hunt them down.
with the thrill of a live chase on her hands Sulfur's body was brimming with energy as her natural tendency's took over. She was a born hunter, a dragon bred to kill and hunt down her prey. she had the weapons and training and the blood of a devil. If nothing else she would die before letting her rider down, or her target escape her.

***

Rouchlos was not in a good mood from the moment this man came back into existence, and now he had not only spat in his face, twice, he made him look like a weak, and incapable fool before his king. the rumbling rocks, and the sudden flash of dust was a perfect smock screen for the rider. his mind was already spinning a mile a minuet as Brom had spoken his last words to him. after casting two spells to make sure that his body would not be harmed he stood back up from his knee. his ears picked up quickly on Broms approaching feet.
If it was a clear day He knew that he would have looked like a demon at this point. His Hell Armor spell was now boiling over his body in full effect the lashings of his magical shielding made his limbs look more like a dragons, with talons, and a wood work os scales that each shifted and moved like it was a second skin. his shoulders were bursting with energy and spires of the red and silver magic, even on his head his helmet looked like a crown was placed around his head. He had only gotten to this point once before and it nearly killed him when the spell burnt out. but at this point if he failed he was dead ether way.

Jumping to his feet Rouchlos caught Brom's now brightly glowing sword in his 'bear' hands. his eyes glowed with all the rage and anger that had been built up over the death of his first dragon and this man was not going to get away with out a fight. He didn't even wait for a reaction from the old, and surprisingly spry man. his other hand lashed out with the speed of a viper but Brom had dodged it though his clothing was not as lucky. continuing like this Rouchlos let lose a fury of punches and clawing moments. though a few landed home Brom was keeping up with him step for step and even launching his own attacks in the fury of the fight. though after a good minuet of this extreme close quarters fighting a harsh blow from both parties made them spread apart from each other. Rouchlos's hands quickly reached behind him as he ripped his three part staff out from his belt. Keeping it bunched with no words being exchanged or Rouchlos moving Brom made the first move and Rouchlos returned the action flinging his weapon out with all his might aiming the stub of the staff towards the mans head. Though Brom deflected the attack only to get a gut full of Rouchlos's fist. and the two separated again. he knew he had orders, but this was one fight that even the king's command could not make him stop. "I... I can't Mearo... I'm sorry." was the last thing that slipped through his mind as the two warriors started going at it again in a fury of even more dust and anger, at least for Rouchlos.

With a sigh sundagarm leaned against the leg of his dragon watching the village. Why he was there he did not know. Behind him his dragon shifted slightly to better catch the suns rays against her black scales. with a nervous look on his face the elf twisted his blade into the sand. why had the letter told him to be here? the price for his services were heavy. as a outcast rider sundagarm and his dragon Reloria simply traveled together. finding work to keep busy. "if this is a waste of our time i will not be amused." Reloria thought to her rider. sunda reached over and and picked a wineskin out of the saddle on her back and took a deep drink. With a sigh he replaced the skin in the jet black saddlebag. in the town a quarter-mile away he could sense massive flares of magic. something that worried the outcasts. if this was to protect their town then the rider and dragon pair's employer had wasted their time. only the lives of the two mattered to them. protecting people they didnt even know? if they had the money to afford sundagarm and reloria then they knew escort and guard duty was not in their job skills. assassination, espionage, mabye the occasional debt collection. But long term protection? Reloria's teachers were still searching for her. the main reason they were always on the move. without being asked reloria lifted her wing over sunda providing some much needed shade from the sun. "two more hours rela. then we're gone." he thought to her as he leaned back against her foreleg

"Uh oh, we've got company on our six" Tenchi spoke to both riders, Sulfur's scent, living up to it's namesake, flooded his massive nosterals. "Looks like Rouchlos isn't content for us to leave unhindered."

Kat gently placed Maero onto Tenchi's back and stood up on his comrade's spine, walking down to the end of his tail, peering into the vast blue sky. A large, green, and very mean dragon wasn't hard to spot. Kat shook his hair free and held his arms out to his side, the wind reinvegorating him after being stuck underground for so long. his emerald hair flowed behind him as his robe fluttered in the wind. laughing to himself he brought his hands together and chanted. "Shield or Weapon, I bend the wind to my will" and four pale green orbs formed around his torso and started to orbit him. "Maero, what I am about to do may seem very cruel, but it is our lives or this dragon. I have no choice." bringing his right hand up, he pointed his middle and index finger at Sulfur, screaming out into the wind "The Wind Shall Not Forgive Your Transgression...IMPALE THEM!" the orbs split and became twenty etheral daggers and screamed through the sky towards Sulfur. if the daggers connected, the combined speed of Sulfur and his daggers would create a devstating force, one which no human could survive, but as for a dragon? It was time to find out.

"that's a neat trick..." Sulfur thinks to her self as her eyes catch onto the attack sent her way. Letting her heart beat that much faster as this chase was keeping her ready and let her put the few hundred years of training that Rouchlos put her through to use. With one last beat sending her body forwards and slightly up she curled her neck and foiled her wings sending her back against the brunt of the flying daggers protecting the only soft spot on her body with her back of rock hard scales.
As the 20 daggers landed against her body quite a few of them were deflected, merely bouncing off her scales. A few of them though found the small weaknesses between her mighty stales. sticking into her body enough to be a nuance but not much more as eh opened her wings back up barrel rolled out of her fall and resumed her pursuit letting her scales open up wide in the air whipping around her body as he left a noxious trail of poison behind her. as she pushed her body faster and faster gaining ground like it was no bodies business from under Kat's mount.
