Kaminari held up her hand. "Shadow must return first." she said, another dagger appearing in front of Attimasc. "But you may master your crafting; and that little unsolid trick isn't going to work in Hell. My daughter just has failed to realize your speices," she said before Daron returned with one glass. "Hn," she murmured, taking the glass and looking into it, "could be better, but who am I to judge?" she said holding the goblet out to Lilia who snatched it and drank what seemed to be air.

"Asins no upes." Daron said softly, no expression showing on his face.

"Otherwise known as the Blood of the River," Rebecca murmured and Kaminari smiled, bowing slightly.

"She's not human any more, Vlad," Rebecca said grimly, "Daron made sure of that."

"She was a vampire before he got to her," Kaminari snapped, "Set her up with a reputation myself," she said, holding out her hand and Lilia gave back the empty goblet. The moment the goblet was fully in Kaminari's hands it faded into black smoke.

Vladimir didn't say anything.
'They're bluffing...' he thought. 'I killed her with my bare hands. She couldn't have lived...unless...' Vladimir almost sprang out of his seat when the thought occured to him.
'A human's life passes quickly but their essence lingers, much like Shadow's does when she's beginning to fade away. So if someone were to get to her within about thirty minutes...' Vlad gasped lightly and sank into Lilia.
"Vlad...you're sitting on meee...." she said in Russian.
"Lilia," Vladimir whispered in his old language, a language he had forbidden himself to speak for over five hundred years. "I know how you died now. And I can only wish that I'd finished the job..." Vladimir shut his eyes. "The reason I didn't turn myself is because I didn't want you to have this life..."

"Shadow thinks Vladimir is an emo~" Shadow sang, her body twisting to face him. With her new, sharp claws she plucked the dagger out of the air and looked at it. "Nice nice....Shadow likey~"
"Shadow..." Vladimir said.
"What's wrong with her?" Lilia whispered, wiping the drink from her mouth. Vladimir inhaled and smelled it; it smelled somewhat like blood, but it smelled too dead. Made him want to gag.
"She's gone completely insane. Just like the rest of them..."
"Scary..." Lilia lowered herself to hide behind Vladimir. He took her hand, which, surprisingly, was colder than his.
"Hee hee hee..." Shadow laughed. "Yall are cute~" Shadow turned to face the portal then twitched. She was facing Attimasc. When he had said good-bye she had heard it and ignored it. But now she was thinking about how he said it...
"Hee hee. Bye bye, darling~" Shadow sang, blowing a kiss to Attimasc. She grinned savagely and stuck her tongue out at Daron. "You smell bad." Then she laughed and faced Kaminari once more.
"Mistress Demon..." Shadow said, her instincts finally fully kicking in. "You are sending Shadow to kill Paymon. Shadow is glad to kill Paymon. Shadow hasn't killed anything in so long..." Shadow sighed and practiced a little with the knife. "As for Shadow's powers, Shadow doesn't have any special ones. Unlike Shadow's children, Shadow is nothing." She smiled and hopped through the portal. She wouldn't remember anything she had done after her mind slipped away, and she wouldn't remember the last thing she would say to them. It was something she had never admitted to herself or to anyone else, because she had refused the title her whole life.
"I am only their Queen and Mother."

Shade grinned and jumped for joy when Shadow said what she was.
"Hooray!" he shouted. "She's admitted it! Now maybe she'll finally accept me as her King..."
"It doens't count if she's insane!" Fille called from another room.
"Fille!" Shade wailed. "You're no fun!!!"
"That's my job, sir. That's my job."

Attimasc scowled, "Hey demon, watch what you do, or you may find a slayer after you. No, it won't be me. I'm not suicidal. If you have no more use for them, which it seems, and as I was told by your 'mother' that there isn't, then let them go."

Attimasc did a 'yeah, sure' gesture with his hand. smiling sweetly, he turned himself into a double-helix and started spinning, "Well, being told you're not allowed to look makes it all the more intriguing, doesn't it?," he said, voice as subtle as a riptide, "I know one thing for certain, it is very magical, the most magical thing in this house, more than Kaminari, even," he said.

Shadow smiled, her teeth sharper and longer than when she was sane. She pet each hound on the head.
"Well, aren't you pretty~" she sang. She glanced at the river and frowned.
"Hmm...one of the houndies can come, you say..." Shadow smiled and bounced up and down. "Who wants to help Shadow find Paymon?" she exclaimed, faking excitement. But, then again, in her state, it might have been real excitement. One of the hounds instantly barked and hopped up, ready to go. The other snorted and looked at her as if to say that he wasn't doing anything the other would do. Shadow smiled and scratched the excited hound behind the ears.
"Good doggie~" Shadow cooed. "Now, let's go, shall we?" The hound barked and wagged his tail. It would have been a terrifying sight for any mortal, but Shadow was too high on her own insanity to notice the hound's bad qualities. All she saw was a happy puppy.
"To Paymon!" Shadow yelled, her voice filling the area. Shadow charged towards the river, the hound racing beside her.
'Hmm...I feel heavier here...and my voice seemed to actually come from my throat...' Then Shadow's mind banished the intelligent thoughts, and sick laughter burst from her throat as she splashed through the blood, most of it flying right through her figure. She released her hold on most of her form then flew into the river. There was no splash; she simply went under then re-appered.
"Come on, doggie!" Shadow called. The hellhound barked and followed her. Shadow relaxed and let the current carry her.
"Oh Paymon~" she sang to herself as she laid her hand on the hellhound's head. "Shadow is coming to get you~ And you will not escape." Shadow made sure her hand was solid as she gripped the dagger tighter. She smiled a sharp toothed smile and wondered if she would be able to take on a form that would scare a demon.
'Probably won't be the form...he'll be scared, though. I'd be scared, too, if an insane shadow came running at me with a knife. Heh. Wouldn't it be funny if he doesn't know about shadows? Hee hee...that would be hilarious...because we don't fade easy..."

"Wah..." Shade whined. "She went to Hell, didn't she?"
"Yep," Fille said, sitting next to Shade.
"Wah..."
"Erk. You're such a baby."
Shade wiped his nose. "Am not."
"Are so. Everyone in the realm thinks you're this badass king, but you're just a whiny baby." Shade flinched, as if Fille's words had stung.
"Thanks for that slap, Fille," Shade spat.
"Quite welcome."
"And I am not a whiny baby. I mean, I can be scary and evil when I want to..."
"Like when you're after Shadow?"
"Well, yeah...cause that's the only time I need to be..."
"Ever think that you act different because you're so close to the real world?"
"No...that's impossible."
"Think about it, sir. Shadow lives in the real world and is the most intelligent, sane shadow in existance. But only when she's there. You do remember what she's like here, don't you?"
"Yeah..." Shade said, flinching. "Hateful, sadistic b***h who tends to go mad once a day." Shade smiled, licking his lips. "But she's a terror in bed too."
"Eew..." Fille moved away from Shade, sticking her slightly forked tongue out. "Did not need to know that."
"Whaatt??" Shade complained. "You asked."
"Still...eewwww....." Fille shuddered again then tried to act serious. "But really, think about it. Maybe it isn't those pills she takes. Those just get her there. I think that the real world affects everybody. Reverses your personality, kinda."
"So...that would mean..." Shade pondered, trying to remember all that Shadow had said about other shadows coming to the real world.
"That would mean that Shadow's theory on keeping all the little underling shadows out of the real world to protect it is false. She needs to be looking out for shadows like you, me, all the intelligent ones."
"Because we're going to turn into the murderous evil masterminds?" Shade laid his head on Fille's shoulder and looked at her through his lashes, the perfect picture of beauty and innocence.
"Exactly." Fille patted Shade's head and sighed.


Why do we even exist? If a shadow serves no purpose, then why are we here? We do not die, and we do not live. No one ever sees us.

Do we even have a purpose?

Shadow cocked her head as ominous questions filled her head. They weren't her mind talking, though. It was the many shadows whose thoughts she could hear. That would be all shadows.
"There is no reason we're here," Shadow whispered. "We have no purpose." Shadow relaxed and let herself speed down the river. Soon she would forget all those questions.

Daron sighed, narrowing his eyes on the blob of water. "Fish." he hissed, but turned to the book. "There was a likeness of her; she, the namless woman. Entraced people with her eyes; but when you were around her, you forgot what you were doing. She, the Namless Woman, was bad news. The priests denied such things, and no one dared to go against Them. The Namless Woman got eye of a king, she went with him. Which how REBECCA came to be."

Rebecca stuck her head from the kitchen glaring, her tongue flicking out in annoyace. She narrowed her eyes, "And while I was touring the millions of beaches in the world, you were deals with patheic, dead, decaying, bitches and bastards vampires!" She screeched before going back into the kitchen.

Daron smirked, "I like my job," he snickered, before resuming. "Years later, the Namless Woman, after having several children, the first born, Rebeccale, and the last born..." Daron stopped suddenly and smirked, "Rebecca do you remember what his name was?" Rebecca sheriked from the kitchen, and a cup flew out and hit the wall, shattering it a million peices.

"Paymon." Daron said for her. "Hn. Like I said, Fish, no one goes against mother." He smirked, putting the book on the shelf. "In the end, the King cheated on her with some human and she got pissed. Destoried the entire kingdom 'cept for the ornginal city."

"Rome, right?" Rebecca walked in, her hands bloody and on a platter she was carrying were two steaks. "Here, Lilia," she smiled, holding out the tray for the girl, who took one steak and curled up on the couch, nibbling on the raw meat. Daron took the other and ripped it in half, handing one piece to Rebecca who took it and retreated back into the kitchen. Daron quickly started to devour his own piece.
