Indeed. They either get pissed or entertained when you rant at them.

I got a random friends request, the girl didn't even spell "friend" correctly.
So I went to see her posts. And the first thing I see? Take a look:

Me: "..."

I think many people on Gaia take the idea of 'friend' for granted. To them, a friend is anyone who will care to listen to them. Personally, I think a friend is someone I can talk to consistently about anything I want and share a mutual relationship with him/her. I value friends more than other people like this person do.
Almost makes me want to rant. Again.
People just cannot grasp the idea of privacy. Yes, sure, you want friends; we all do, but we are not going to be so flamboyant as to PM everyone we see to recruit them into our oh-so-jolly web of trust. Some web of trust. Why talk to people you do not know? Some people don't want to talk to you! Ooh! Have you ever thought about that? No! Because in your little head, the idea that you are the center of the universe distorts your perception of reality: people don't care much about you. Heard of the 20-40-60 rule? I didn't think so.
n00bs infringe upon my privacy. n00bs are attention whores. n00bs cannot take the time to correct their spelling. So. To cut things short, I will summarize why these people hate me in the most succinct manner I can possibly can: n00bs are grammarless, privacy-infringing attention whores.

lol I thought you enjoyed talking to n00bs, Xum. [You are Xum from now on. I have a tendency to simply pick out a random syllable in a person's name and use that as their nickname.][And I thought Xum was more appropriate than Bra.]

I do like talking to n00bs. I just don't like n00bs collectively, as a whole.
