"You're welcome," he tells Mikora. Wandering back to his spot at the bar, he picks up his tankard to take a large drink from it. A dangerous situation safely defused, it certainly wouldn't loko good if Nim had tried to use her knife or whatever it was she had hidden up her sleeve. He had seen the motion and knew it well enough, the sign of hidden weaponry.

Mikora takes a look around at the emptying bar. "Oh, soon enough, I'd say," she answers. Her parents take that moment to come back and ask if everything had gone ok. Mikora tells her father about the trouble with William, Nim's stepping in for her and Alerin's resolution to the situation, at least, without the mention of magic as she hadn't been aware that he had used it.
Frank shakes his head at William's behavior. "Again? There's just no accounting for some people. Thank you for stepping in Nim. We're sure glad to have you here." He turns to Alerin, reaching into his coin pouch and handing him back his coins. "And thank you, as well, young man. Take your money. You've well earned your stay, as far as I'm concerned." he winks.

"That's quite generous of you, thank you," he says, accepting back his coins. Figuring now was about as good as time as any, he whispers to Frank, "If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like to speak with you and your wife when you're ready to close things up..."

Frank raises an eyebrow at Alerin but nods his acquiescence. "Very well," he says carefully. What could this young man want? He looks to Nim and Mikora. "You two can, go if you like. Bethor and I should be able manage it now," he says to them. It was usually the point where he dismissed his daughter, anyway.
Mikora smiles at Nim. "Let's go!" she says. "I'll show you where you can sleep. She tugs her in the direction of the house.

"ok" she chrips and lets herself be dragged back to the house. She glances back once with a small frown on her face wondering what alerin would want to talk to Mikora's parents about. She did not mean to even over hear what he had said but her hearing was more sensative then most other people. She looks faces forward again so she would not trip as she is pulled inside the house "you guys have areally nice place here it makes me think of home" she grins

Alerin waits until the last customers either leave or head upstairs to their rooms. Reaching into his pouch, he pulls out a folded piece of parchment that he'd acquired a few towns back. "Do you know what this means?" he asks Frank and Bethor, unfolding the paper to reveal one of the bounty notices that Lord Morin had put out. Alerin obviously hadn't checked, but he'd be willing to bet that the town message board here was now sporting one of the notices.

Mikora leads Nim to a guest room they had set up on the second level, right next to Mikora's. "This will be your room," she beams. "Mine's right next door." She yawns. "Mm...'m sleepy, though..."
Frank and Bethor exchange a glance. "Well, it seems they're looking for the missing royal children," he says simply, with a shrug, offering no information about his adopted daughter.

(Yeah, it is getting late...g'night)
"Oh, aye, they're looking for the children all right," Alerin agrees, reaching into his other belt satchel to pull out an older scrap of parchment. It was from when he'd still been in Asterage, he'd actually pulled it off one of his assailants. At first glance, it seemed similar to the other bounty notice, only this one showed that the bounty was for the heads of the children, plus another bounty for celestial wings.
"Your daughter was out in the open among a lot of strangers up at the circus..." he says while letting the other two read the second bounty notice, "And there have been rumors flying about that one of the missing royals has been hiding in this area. To be honest with you sir, madam, I don't think Mikora will be safe here much longer."

The two exchange a glance. "Frank...they've found her..." Bethor murmured, her eyes brimming with tears.
Frank assesses Alerin like he had Nim, down his nose, as though making a guess to what he was capable of. "So just what are you getting at, son?" Frank had a feeling there was more.

"It's obvious that she can't stay here, and she'll need protection on the road. If nothing else I'm sure I could persuade the good people of Soley and Mingen's Circus to hide her among them while traveling away from here." Actually, he hadn't quite planned ahead that far, but it sounded good. He'd told Anja that he probably wouldn't be coming back for a while, but now that he thought about it, hiding Mikora among the Circus performers would be a lot easier than traveling on their own.

Bethor leaned against her husband, Frank taking her hand in his, both of them heartbroken at the idea of losing the girl they thought of as a daughter. "Well, I suppose you've proven that you can be trusted. We'll sleep on this and talk in the morning," he responds, swallowing his own sorrow.

"Very well. I wish I could say that aI had brough good news, but..." Alerin shrugs. Getting up from the stol and stretching, he adds as he heads towards the stairs, "If you've any guard animals, tonight would be a good night to have them on alert. Good night" With that, he heads up to his room to get some sleep.
