Phoenix roared in anger as the huge black dragon crashed through the trees and hit her side. Phoenix turned and closed her teeth around his neck and he roared in pain. Phoenix felt the blood flow from her attackers throat and into her mouth. He hit across her face with his tail and she released his neck with a grunt of pain. He attacked and grabbed her lower neck and twisted. Phoenix fell under his strike and waited for him to release her neck. When he didn't, Phoenix dug her talons into his soft under-belly. He screamed in pain as her talon tore open his scales and he released her neck from its choke-hold. Phoenix dug her talons into his belly again and kicked him off off her and struggled to her feet. She listened for sounds of her enemy. She heard his snarl of laughter. She knew he had found her new friends. She chased after the black dragon and found him rearing over her friends, ready to breath fire on her friends.

Meesha opened her canteen of water then another of wine and poured them out in front of her as quickly as she could hear the black dragon closing in on them. “Ok you guys we get to kick some more dragon butt.” She turned to see what they where up against only to be almost hit with fire, when she brought the water-wine mixture around to shield her and her friends. Looking at the dropped claymore, she pushed the fire back at the dragon by pushing the water towards it. Slowly stepping over to the claymore Meesha said, “Sorry Teka your too hurt to fight I should of healed it when I had the chance.”

“Here Teka this might hurt ‘my love’.” Kokiou said partly under her breath. Suddenly she grabbed hold of his wounded arm and ripped the bandage off and mumbled an incantation. “Lantod Klandom rethot Tekos,” she repeated this several times getting louder each time until she stopped and looked at the scar that was just bleeding, but there was on trace of there ever being blood.

Phoenix watched as the dragon's fire burned and scorched him. Phoenix launched herself at the enemy and shielded her friends from his second fiery blast. She shielded herself with her own dragon magic before lashing her foe with her spiked tail. It dug deep into his side, digging into his lungs, and she pulled it back, ripping both his lungs wipe open. She watched as blood flowed from his side and onto the ground. The black dragon gasped for air and changed into his human form. The tanned skinned, dark haired dragon-human illusion layed before Phoenix, gasping for air, when she recognized him. "Firestone?!"

Teka looked at his rejuvenated arm, pleased with it, "Thanks, uh....it's Kokiou? Right?" Teka picked up his claymore, "There better not be any side effects to this." Instead of strapping his claymore to his back, he pointed it to this new figure. He asked Phoenix, "A friend of yours?"

Sortai had unsheathed his sword and been watching with a keen eye."And just when I was going to get into it..", he said as he re-sheathed his broadsword. He looked around again and sighed."I remember I woke up this morning alone.... not complaining", he added to not seem mean. Almost on cue, Mesu tore his bonds and ran off into the woods."Damn it... Seems I'll be leaving sooner than I thought. Teka, Meesha, still coming?", he said. Then to Pheonix,"Not to seem rude, I just don't want my horse to meet the same fate as my other family members.". He turned to the others, awaiting a response.

"Yeah, I'm coming. I think these two need a little time to catch up on things." Teka just wanted to be out of there before anything started. "This is why I hate horses. They're scared easily, run away the first chance they get, and never there when you need them."

Meesha looked at the two and followed them, looking at the handome boy on the groundshe sighed, and thought to herself "Oh what a poor boy I didn't know that all dragons could change."

"Not a friend." Phoenix growled. "Family. This is my my cousin, Firestone." Phoenix watched her friends wonder off after the foolish horse, knowing they would be fine. She turned back to her dying cousin and moved to his side. She placed her hand over his lungs and sighed as she healed him, slightly. If I'm not satisfied with what he tells me, I'll kill him! She thought with malice. Firestone stopped gasping and began to breath easy. He looked up and spoke. "Why didn't you kill me?" Phoenix looked down on him and shifted her more comfortable dragon form. She remained in power this way. Firestone was still to weak to shift. He was powerless. "You will tell me what I want to know or I will kill you," Phoenix whispered venomously. "Why are you here? Why did you attack me?!" Firestone cringed and looked away. "Your uncle sent me," he whispered. "I am bound by our dragon magic that I must try to kill you. I have no choice." "You always have a choice!" She screamed at him. In dragon voice it was louder than human ears could stand, so he covered his ears. "You know our magic always gives us a choice. Uncle must have played you with words. He tricked you into saying you wanted me dead. You are caught in your own lies. Why does he want me dead?" Firestone flinched and looked away. "Why Firestone?" He looked up at Phoenix with tears in his eyes. "Your father is dead." Phoenix froze and her mouth dropped open. "Your uncle can sieze power of our lands if you are dead." "What do you mean?" Phoenix whispered, almost in fear. "You're Queen of our lands,!" Phoenix couldn't believe Firestone's words. "Your Magesty."

Meesha looked for Mesu, then looked back at Phoenix and her cousin. She heard the words “Your Majesty.” She ran to catch up to Sortai, and Teka, “hey Teka! I think you have an admirer.”

"Is it really the time to be discussing this?" Teka sounded a little annoyed, as he was doing two things he hated, dealing with a horse and living without alcohol. "Besides, I already told your ferret, I'm not interested, and I don't care."

"That's not possible!" Phoenix stood amazed. "I refused the Throne two hundred years ago! Father said I could never rule." Firestone looked up at Phoenix and shook his head. "You are still his only hatchling. Your uncle has no choice. If you choose, he must give up all power and you will rule. That is law." "As if I care about law! Phoenix rose to her full height and looked around. "I must discuss this with my friends." "They arenot of us!" Firestone jumped to his feet and moved to block her way. "They can not know of the King's death. No outsiders can! They will percieve it as weakness and attack us!" Phoenix stepped over Firestone and moved along after her friends. "Not all others are the same as the Judifans," Phoenix told him softly. "I trust them!" Phoenix raised her head as she heard Teka's voice. She could sence his distaste of chasing a horse and his lack of alcohol. She turned to follow his frustration. As she approached the clearing they were in, Phoenix shifted back to her human illusion. They hadn't found the silly horse yet.

Kokiou started to get dizzy as she listend to the conversation that phoenix was having. the longer she sat there the sooner she started to forget were she was. "oh boy..." she mumbled to herself, she felf as if any moment she would barf. "mew?" [what's wrong?] "I-I think that w-water i drank got me sick..." "Mew mew mew... [but that wasnt water] kokiou looked at koru in surprise. "what???" "meeeeew" [ that was scotch.] she looked cofused at her cat. "what's scotch?" koru stared at kokiou. "meeooooooooow!" [its like a type of beer!] kokiou couldnt stand what she was hearing, but she couldnt say anything else she went to the nerest bush and barfed."meeew..." [oh boy...]

Phoenix looked at Kokiou and saw her rush to the bushes. Phoenix walked to her side and held her head as she threw up the little food she had in her stomach. Phoenix reached for the pack she had on her back, suddenly remebering she left it at the campsite. She snapped her fingers and the pack appeared on her back. Phoenix rumaged through it untilshe found a vial full of crystal clear liquid. "Here," she whispered to Kokiou. "Drink this. You'll feel better, I promise!" She handed Kokiou the vial.

"T-thank you." Kokiou stumbled out her words. "I was told I drank beer!!! I feel stupid..." She did exactly what phoenix suggested and drank the liquid, she hesitated for a moment. "Wow i do feel better! thank you!" "MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!!" kokiou herd koru she looked over to him to see that a horse had steeped on his tail. "uhhhhhhh...............meesha... who's horse is that?"
