Nadya laughed softly. "We did, and she didn't," she smiled warmly at Triton. "Hello. It's nice to see you again, Triton - and under much better circumstances."
She still preferred not to remember their previous (and only) trip together, and still didn't like traveling. The city was the first exception she had made since that time, and she had only done it for her friend and family.

Triton smiled warmly, "Same here, it is good to be here for a happy reason, and it gives everyone a chance to relax."
As well as to just be with each other, normally the family was busy with day to day duties. Yue was spending time with his brother and daughter, and the younger children had a good chance to just spend time with Donovan and their mother.
It was also good for Donovan and his mother, but he wasn't going to tell them that.
"Yue and Yukito will be looking forward in seeing you again Gion," Triton added.

Gion nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling brightly.
'And I am looking forward to seeing them again as well,' he signed; and then he chuckled silently. 'There is so much for us to catch up on ... once I see Grandmother again we must spend some time just seeing what has changed since our last journey together.'
He paused for a moment, his expression growing thoughtful, and then he raised his hands to sign once more, 'And I am sure that Daemon would like to talk to ... and see ... his family again.'
Or for the first time. And now that Daemon could manifest himself outside of the sword for longer periods of time now ...

"Agreed, they would like to catch up and I'm sure mother is somewhere around here..." he trailed off thinking about that.
He actually had no clue where his mother was at the moment, unlike the inn it was a bit harder to track down people. It didn't help that the kids had run loose though most of them were good.

"She's giving Jin a bath," Donovan replied, "So she can put him to bed. Hopefully the rest of the kids can be tracked down, though the only person who is really missing is Masako."
Which meant trouble, though knowing the little girl she was probably getting ready for bed in her own way. Just hopefully no one was going to get a scare.

Nadya smiled brightly. "Well, once we've eaten and washed and rested, I'm sure we'll be able to meet everyone ... Valar know it would be terrible if we didn't meet everyone at some point before the wedding." She laughed softly.
Galdor looked like he was slightly bored and yet slightly anxious, and he spoke softly to his mother in elvish. She looked over at him and smiled reassuringly, replying in kind.

"Then we'll leave you to it," Donovan nodded motioning for Triton to leave with him.
Besides the kid needed to put his own kid to bed anyhow. That way they could have a nice perky neko in the morning. It kind of made Donovan wondered if he gave Iris enough sugar if she would have a sugar crash before noon.
"We'll see you later."

"Good night," Nadya smiled, speaking for all three of them.
They were about to turn and head back into the Dining Hall when another voice, this one coming from down the hall, interrupted.
"Donovan!" Lothiriel's clear voice rang out, her pleasure obvious - also obvious was the fact that she was as of yet unaware of her family's presence in the room she was heading for.
Pen of course was following behind her, though he was paying more attention to the guards around him than he was to the people in front of him.

Donovan grinned like the cat who got into the cream, tonight was his lucky night. Who would have thought she and Pen would have made it at the same time as her folks? Of course he was still grinning at her when he turned to look at the person who called out to him.
"Lothiriel, I wasn't expecting you for a while yet, did you just happen to be close by?"

Triton coughed a bit and excused himself to go and put Iris away to bed. That and to find his mother, from the look on Donovan's face, it looked like a bit of Winters intervention was going to be needed.
Otherwise he worried for this... Pen fellow he had been hearing about earlier.

In the Dining Hall, Nadya's eyes grew wide. "Lothiriel?" she repeated softly, darting out into the hallway. She laughed aloud and spread her arms to welcome her daughter, and Lothiriel beamed brightly and ran forward to embrace her mother.
She giggled at Donovan. "Yes, we were actually only half a day from the plantation when Mother told me about the wedding, so it was a simple matter of changing course and heading here instead."
Pen looked slightly alarmed as he came up behind Lothiriel again. "I thought you said your parents weren't going to be here when we arrived," he murmured apprehensively.
Lothiriel laughed. "I said there was a chance we might arrive first," she teased him, "stop changing my words."
Gion had been about to sit down at the table but hearing his daughter's voice he headed out to greet her as well - and when he saw Pen standing with her, he paused and looked him over thoughtfully.

"Well that was certainly a lucky break," Donovan murmured, "For the most part."
He said the last bit with a chuckle noticing how Pen looked alarmed at the fact that Lothiriel's parents were here. Poor guy... not that Donovan was very sympathic seeing as he was enjoying the look on Pen's face.

Somone looks a bit stricken.
Daemon couldn't help but comment on that with a chuckle, poor man he thought to himself. He could more than understand Pen's feelings in all of this, not to mention he probably hadn't been told much about them.

Gion just about chuckled at Daemon's words, and in his head he did indeed laugh.
It's about time I got to meet him, though, he pointed out. According to Nadya they've been engaged for two years and traveling together for eight. If I had Sight of my own I'd have gone looking for them a long time ago to meet him.
But for now he was just sizing him up from a distance.
Lothiriel giggled at Donovan. "Well, I would say so," she laughed, "but I'm afraid Pen might not agree."
She beckoned for Pen to come closer just as Galdor stepped out of the Dining Hall as well. Pen looked from Galdor to Gion and then back and, taking a deep breath, he figured he might as well get some of the introductions over with.
He just hoped that Lothiriel's father wasn't as bad as her uncles.
He gathered up his courage and stepped up to Galdor, holding out one hand to shake. "Hello, sir," he said politely and respectfully. "I am Pengolodh ... I've been traveling with your daughter."
Galdor folded his arms across his chest and stared at Pen. "She's my sister," he said quietly.

Donovan nearly bit his tongue to keep himself from laughing, but his shoulders were shaking. His eyes were a bit too bright by most people's standards, but at least he was not laughing aloud. Even if he was so tempted to.
He coughed a bit, "Pen... the other man."
