“We would all very much like to kill him, Jess,” Logan said through clenched teeth. He was gripping the phone so tight that it threatened to split in half. Alec was enjoying this. He was probably sipping his wine and chuckling to himself at this very moment. He knew that Logan would want to call back, but somehow he managed not to. Logan wasn’t going to give that b*****d the satisfaction. He stuck the phone in his pocket angrily and turned to face Jess. His expression instantly became softer. He knelt at her side. “Jess,” he whispered, “I’m sorry. Alec has hurt us all. But we will fix this. We will fix everything.”
Rosen sat up from her dark corner and glided over. She stood above the three sad figures. “Jess, may I have a word with you?” Logan glared up at her. “Do you really think that this is the time?” Rose nodded. “This is exactly the time.” She held out a hand for Jess. She eyed it warily before taking it and letting Rose pull her to her feet. Logan gave her a worried look. “Don’t go far and don’t be gone long.” Rose nodded. “We will just be outside.” Together Rose and Jess exited the building. Rose gestured for them to go around to the back where they couldn’t be seen from the road. There was silence between them for a few minutes. Rose leaned against the building and cast her eyes downward. “You were the one that changed me,” she said firmly, and when she finally did look up she saw that Jess’s face was still streaked with the silvery ghosts of tears. Softer, she said, “There is no point in denying it. I will never forget your face.”

Alaric nodded after being told to keep an eye on the Rogue. Of course he'd keep an eye on her. She was the enemy. He'd kill her where she stood if it were up to him. They nailed on the board and Alaric felt a little better about their position. Then came the phone call. Everyone suddenly got very emotional very quickly. Alaric hoped they wouldn't do anything stupid. He'd have to hold them back if they did.
He decided it was probably best to let them have their sad time. Maybe it would tire them out enough to sleep. He took up a position near the prisoner, between her and the Cure, and settled in to a comfortable stance. He took his first real look at their captive. She was young and had more muscle than you would guess from her size. If she had any fighting skill she could potentially be dangerous. At the moment she seemed to be thinking hard about something. She would probably try something, as Jess had predicted. Satisfied, he went on guard mode, keeping half his attention on the prisoner and half on his surroundings.

Jess could see the anger that now resided in Logan, after hearing the message Alec had left, "We would all very much like to kill him, Jess." Jess eyed her phone, it looked as though it was threatening to break apart. Logan slipped her phone into his pocket, absentmindedly and knelt down by her side and whispered, "Jess..I'm sorry. Alec has hurt us all. But we will fix this. We will fix everything." Jess learned forward so that she was right next to his ear and whispered, "Has he personally come out to find you and kill your unborn child and fiance?" The tears stopped, she suddenly felt numb and angry and wanting to find Jasper.
Rosen came out of a dark corner and asked if she could talk to Jess. Logan glared up at her and asked, "Do you really think this is the time?" She nodded at him, stubbornly and responded, "This is exactly the time." Rose held out her hand for Jess to take, she eyed it up carefully and took it, allowing Rose to pull her to her feet. Jess glanced back to Logan who was giving her a worried look, "Don't go far and don't be gone long."
Jess and Rose were in the back of the building, out of sight from the road, standing in silence for a few minutes. "You were the one that changed me," Rose said firmly. "There's no point in denying it. I will never forget your face." Jess found herself with her eyes glued to the ground, "I'll never forget yours either, Rose. I..can't even express how sorry I am....If I may try to explain..no excuses..I know what I did was terrible." She looked up and Rose gave her a small nod. "You should know that you're the only human that I ever bit. My survival for the entire time since my turning from the time I bit you was based upon the blood bank. About two months before I attacked you, I vowed to never go back there...the owner stalked me and attacked me once. I hadn't quenched my thirst since the last time I went to the bank and then I saw you..and I don't even remember what came over me. I completely understand if you never forgive me...I've never forgiven Alec for what he's done to me." Rose tilted her head when she heard mention of Alec. "Well..he personally came after me and my fiance. His..henchmen weren't out..just him. I was 7 months pregnant, in the park with my fiance. He came and ripped out Chris's throat and threw me to the ground and bit me. When I woke up, I was turned and had a miscarriage. Her name would've been Bella.." Jess stopped. "Sorry..you didn't need another sob story from me.. I just want you to understand..I've regretted it since I did it.. I've checked up on you since the attack..to make sure you were okay...Do whatever you think is fair..to get back at me if you'd like. I won't defend myself." She said looking back at the ground.

Rosen stood up straighter and stared at Jess for a while. “My father was a priest,” she said finally. “A very old-fashioned one at that. Every time I did something wrong, he said it was the work of demons. At night I prayed that the devil would not find me in my sleep while he listened outside my door. Before meals I prayed that demons would not somehow influence me to be evil, otherwise I could not eat. He was strict and frightening, and my mother was his puppet. Despite this, I loved them very much. They were not evil, just people who were afraid of the world. And who could blame them?” Rosen sighed and brushed back a strand of hair that had fallen into her face. How odd it was to go from never speaking to spilling a life story to someone you had spent the last year of your life hating. With Alice around, everything seemed to be changing. “I was surprised when the let me get my own apartment when I was 17. I found out later that they, like everyone else in this damn city, had gone nearly bankrupt, and paying for me was becoming a burden. Soon after I moved in you found me, and I became what I am. What we are. Diseased, damned.” Rosen had to pause here. Her heart was beating so quickly but her mind was sluggish. The memories were not of long ago, like most of the other Cursed. This was only two years ago. This was still fresh in her mind, vivid. “When I woke up I attacked someone, mimicking what you did to me. It was all I knew after being reborn. Hunger, thirst. I stayed with the man I attacked for a year. I loved him more than I have ever or will ever love anyone. His name was Adam.” Rose closed her eyes and clenched her fists. His face was there behind her eyes, smiling. He was whole, perfect and untainted. Not dead, not in her mind. Never once had he shown any anger toward her. The blame had never been on her for what she had turned him into. “At the end of the year, near Christmas actually, Adam finally convinced me to go see my parents again. I had pleaded with him every day to drop the subject, told him of what my parents were like. But he would have none of it. I longed so badly to see them, he told me, so it was worth a try.” Rose’s face seemed paler. She had opened her eyes, but they were glazed over, lost somewhere. “And so we went. But the minute my father saw us he knew what we were. He tricked us into coming within the house, where he pulled a gun on us. My father screamed that his daughter was gone and it was the devil’s henchmen standing before him. He told me there was no heaven or hell for vampires. We wander the earth forever, cold and empty. And then he shot me. My father held a gun to my chest and shot me.” Rose laughed, but it sounded more like a sob. “That b*****d couldn’t keep me down, though. I woke up in a grave next to Adam. My father was trying to bury us. I killed him and took Adam’s body away.” Rose turned her fiery eyes on Jess. This was it, this was the moment she had sat awake planning every night. She touched the blade at her side, running a finger down the cool metal. “My father was right, Jess. After he shot me, all I felt was cold and empty. But there must be some way to save myself. I want redemption, Jessica.” The moment was coming. Her speech was ending. Jess knew her story; she knew why this was happening. Rose pulled the blade from its sheath and held it at her side. She took a step forward. “You took my family. You took my love.” Her hands were trembling. “This is all your fault.” She took another step forward and blinked back tears. She was done crying. This was a happy moment. This was one step closer to being saved. “If I kill you, God might forgive me. My father might forgive me. I don’t want to be like this forever. I want to be saved.” Jessica wasn’t saying anything. A tear managed to fall from Rose’s eye. Her hands wouldn’t stop shaking. This wasn’t part of the plan! No hesitation! Rose dropped the knife and started sobbing. Just like that. She couldn’t stop herself. “This isn’t how it was supposed to be,” she whispered through tears. “You are supposed to be a monster. Adam is dead because of you!” Rose wrapped her arms around herself. “You weren’t supposed to lose a child and a fiancé. You are too human. I can’t kill human.” She kicked the knife away. It skipped across the dirt and disappeared into a clump of bushes. “You’re not supposed to love someone.”

Quote: Alec flipped the phone closed and tossed it onto the couch. He would give them a little time before calling again. Manipulation cannot be rushed. Astraelle wandered down the hallway. She knew the fight hadn't gone well, as she could just feel the angry vibes emmanating from alec's room. She absently curled some hair round her finger trying to sort out her thoughts from the vision she had last night. She tipped her head on one side and bit her lip. Then she froze as her vision came back to her in rushes. 'flashes of blood. Ebony....and the new prisoner...what was his name?.....she couldn't remember....he was screaming...Ebony was smiling'...The vampire prisoner, Alec didn't want him dead, but Ebony was going too far with her 'playing' if they didnt go and stop her there would be nothing left to talk to later. She didn't pick up her pace, but slowly made her way down to the room she knew Alec to be in, hoping that by the time she got there her headache may have faded somewhat. It didn't work. She knocked on the door twice and waited for an answer. ((Sorry for the short post i promise to write more after i've been introduced a little! Jess listened to Rosen's story carefully, her story was very close to her own. However, instead of losing her fiance and child, she lost her parents and her boyfriend. Jess looked at Rose as she was finishing her story, her hand was on a blade and she carefully pulled it out and took a step toward Jess. "You took my family. You took my love. This is all your fault." Rose took another step forward, "If I kill you, god might forgive me. My father might forgive me...I don't want to be like this forever. I want to be saved." Jess remained silent, listening, expecting to be killed. "I don't want to be like this forever, either Rose...I want to be saved, too. I want to be happy again.. The first time I felt even a tinge of happiness was when I first met Jasper...and now look where he is. I corrupt all of the lives around me.." A tear fell from Rosen's eye and her hands were trembling. Then, just like that, she dropped the blade, Jess blinked, confused, Rose began to sob. "This isn't how it was supposed to be. You're supposed to be a monster.. Adam is dead because of you!" The tears were streaming violently down her face now and she wrapped her arms around herself. "You weren't supposed to lose a child and fiance. You're too human..I can't kill human." Rose kicked the knife away, and Jess watched it skip across the dirt and disappeared into a clump of bushes. "You're not supposed to love someone."
Jess looked at her, carefully, Rosen was genuinely compassionate, despite her hatred for her, for what she had done. Jess took a step forward, and not thinking twice about it, pulled Rosen into a hug. Jess whispered, "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this because of me, Rose. Your father should have never done that to you. My family and I hated each other, they didn't support my views on anything. It sounds as though you had to go through the same thing, Rose." Jess took a breath and thought of what else she could possibly say to this girl. She was right, she did ruin her life...she didn't mean to..but she did. "I don't even know what I can do to fix all of this," then she remembered something, "But, you won't be like this forever." A glint of hope entered Jess's eyes and she held Rose out in front of her and looked her in the eye, "We have the cure with us, Rose, remember? I'm not sure how, Logan knows, but with Alice's help we can all be cured. We can all try to go back to a normal life." She watched Rosen continue to cry, though not nearly as bad as before. "Rosen..I'm not asking you to forgive me..I know that would be the hardest and quite possibly the worst thing to ask somebody to do. However, I am personally asking you to help me kill Alec. After all, if it weren't for him, neither one of us would be Cursed."

Neasa closed her eyes tightly and held her knees closer to her face, almost as if she were trying to curl into herself to disappear. Behind her closed eyes she was trying not to cry, trying really hard and failing rather misserably. She'd never aggreed with Alec's methods, never; and here those same methods had gone and hurt someone she had used to know, someone she still did care a lot about.
I'm going to kill him, She found herself thinking, He'll be the first one I kill, not the Cure. Who cares if Alec was older, or stronger, or anything else? Neasa was just plain out going to kill him. No one hurt the people she cared about without suffereing the consequences, even if those same people had hurt her. Neasa found it was much easier to think about killing Alec than to think about killing Alice, after all, as far as she knew Alice had never done anything wrong.
Alec was the bad guy here, he always had been, and that made Neasa the bad guy by association. That thought caused her to cry a bit more opening into her knees, she was still silent, but now the tears were slipping past her eyelids. She didn't want to be the bad guy right now, but she didn't want to be their definition of the good guy either. All she wanted right now was to be allowed to comfort her friend, and it looked like that wasn't going to be happening any time soon.

Alice could hear around her. Words caught her attention. She tuned in. A man named Alec was mentioned...they hated him. They wanted him dead. He was the leader of the Rogues. Alice heard Rosen leave with Jess. I wonder where they went... She thought to herself.
She emerged from her trance feeling like someone just poured cold water on her. Her eyes flew open and her breath grew deeper. Logan had laid himself across the couch, and had his eyes closed. Though she knew he wasn't fully asleep. The one they called Alaric stood infront of her, standing casually.
I need some air... Alice thought. She stood slowly as to not make noise. She crept gingerly to the door and turned the knob.
"Where are you going?" Logan said. His eyes still closed. Alice sighed. "I need some air." "It's too dangerous." "I think I can handle things if I'm three feet from the door Logan." She said, a slight edge in her voice. Logan opened an eye at this. "Your not going out there." Alice wanted to kick him. Hard...in the balls. "Logan I can't just sit here and do nothing!! Jasper is gone! I feel useless!" Alice yelled. She wasn't sure if what she said was coherent. Due to the fact that all her pent up emotions had just coming streaming out in that one sentence. He paused for a moment, almost like he was considering something. "Alice, your not useless. You going out there would only cause more problems. And...we will get Jasper back." Alice kicked the door in frustration, making it splinter. "Hey! That's our only door." "Oh keep your pants on it'll survive." Alice walked over to the wall near a bunch of pipe lines. She caught the eye of the Rouge and glared. She took out one of her throwing daggers and held it in her hand for a moment. Watching the light refract off it's silver blade. Then walked over to the oppisite wall. She dug the blade into the softened cement and making a bullseye. "Alice...what are you doing." She walked back to the other wall and threw the dagger. Hitting the bullseye. She smiled in satisfaction. "Target practice."

Rosen nodded slowly. She felt like very small child lost in a park. She was scared and confused. Her mind was still moving so sluggishly, refusing to let her think. She closed her eyed, still nodding. “Jessica…what if we fail? What if Alice dies and we are stuck like this? What then?” Jess held both of Rose’s shoulder. When Rose opened her eyes, the other woman was staring confidently back at her. “We won’t fail, Rose. Now breathe.” Rose let out a choked laugh. Whenever she cried she held her breath to try and stop. She hadn’t even realized she was doing it. Shakily she inhaled and reached up a hand to push away tears. “I cannot forgive you. I don’t think I ever will. But…yes, I will help you.” She took in another breath, this one much calmer. “I have always been so afraid to fight. I don’t want to die before I’m cured… Jess, if it comes down to it, I will choose my life over your own. I am helping you, just as I will help the others, but I do this for myself.” Jess nodded. “I understand.” Rose leaned heavily against the wall. She wanted very much to run, to get away from these people and the danger they carried with them wherever they went. The odds were against her here. She might die; become only a shadow, as empty and cold as her father had promised. But she would stay. What better way to guarantee victory then by watching over the side you’re rooting for? “Shall we go inside?” she asked quietly, and Jess nodded in response. When they were back inside, Rose looked over at Neasa and tapped lightly on Jess’s arm. “I think we should take care of her now. Secure her. I don’t trust her.”

Logan rolled sluggishly off of the couch and walked over to Alice. He placed his hands on her hips and rested his head on her shoulder. Alice reached back her hand, coming dangerously close to Logan before throwing it forward and releasing her blade again. He smirked and let her go, watching as she walked over to wrench the knife free from the wall. “You really shouldn’t destroy other people’s walls. It isn’t polite.” “You really shouldn’t try to touch a girl that is frustrated and holding a knife,” Alice retaliated, shooting him a dirty look through the hair that fell in her face. “It isn’t safe.” Logan merely chuckled. “Glad to see you haven’t lost any of your fire over the years. In fact, I think it’s grown.” “If I’m so wonderfully fiery, then why won’t you let me fight?” Logan sighed and reached out to cup Alice’s chin, but she glared at him and stubbornly dodged his outstretched hand. “Let me fight,” she continued persistently. “I want to help.” “No, it would only complicate things further.” “Logan, you know that Luke taught me how to fight!” Alice gestured wildly at the holes in the wall where the knife had struck its target repeatedly. “You see what I can do!” Logan still shook his head. He could be just as stubborn, if not more, than she was. “You’d be dead in a second.” Alice darted forward, shoving the knife’s tip dangerously close to his neck. The point just barely glazed his skin when he spoke. “Well aren’t you just the cuddly one? How many times are you going to pull a knife on me?” “I can move quickly. I am strong. I can defend myself.” Logan reached up and pushed the knife slowly back to her side and smiled sadly. “I don’t doubt you, Alice. I know you could chop up almost anyone in your way. I’m just worried, we all are. Alec has made it his life’s mission to kill you. He is insane. More so than anyone I have ever had the…grace to meet.” Logan sighed and touched Alice’s arm. “Please Alice; don’t ask this of me anymore. I can’t-won’t let you fight.”

Alec had Jasper. He had a bargaining chip. Logan would come to him. And he would have to tell him what the note meant. What was his brother talking about? Alec had to know There is no record of the original Cure ever being killed. He only disappeared. What did this all mean? In a sudden temper, Alec swept his arm across his desk. Everything went crashing to the floor in a flurry of papers. He growled and stepped across the broken trinkets that had shattered on impact and paced the room, further pulverizing the discarded bits. As quickly as it had come, Alec’s rage disappeared. He sighed and looked down at the remnants of his desk’s few decorations and the layer of paper that had settled on the floor like snow. Someone would have to come and clean things up. His trinkets would need replacing. For now, however, he swept them off to the side with his foot. This stress he was under just would not do, he told himself. He needed to get out soon. Hunt a little. That would make him feel better. A knock at Alec’s door threatened to send him over the edge again. “I swear, if that is Sky-” He bit off his words and flung open the door. His prized seer, Astraelle, was awaiting him on the other side. Alec relaxed slightly and gestured for her to cross the threshold. “What is it?” He asked coolly, closing the door behind the woman as she entered. “Do you have something to report?

Jess looked at Rose carefully after her little speech and request, "Jessica...what if we fail? What if Alice dies and we are stuck like this? What then?"Jess was holding both of Rosen's shoulders, staring at her confidently. "We won't fail, Rose...Now breathe." Rose shakily inhaled and pushed away her tears, "I cannot forgive you. Jess, if it comes down to it, I will choose my life over your own. I am helping you, just as I will help the others, but I do this for myself." "Completely understandable. Though, if push goes to shove I'm getting her as far away from Alec as possible."Jess nodded towards Rose, "I understand.." After a few moments of silence Rose quietly asked, "Shall we go inside?" Jess nodded. They walked back inside together to find Alice throwing her dagger at the wall and Logan arguing with her..again. "..Even if she wants to fight..he can't let her..if she's dead we're stuck.."She was pulled out of her observations by Rose tapping on her arm, "I think we should take care of her now. Secure her. I don't trust her." Jess nodded and walked over to Neasa.
Jess found her with her eyes closed tightly with her knees close to her face, she was crying. "Hey, kid.. you okay?" Neasa looked up to her. "I need to tie you up..I know what you were planning before. I'm not stupid, you know." The girl nodded. Jess took Neasa's wrists, carefully and tied them together behind her back, then securing them to pipes that she was sitting in front of. Then she tied her legs together, just to be safe. Jess was just about to get up and walk away, but Neasa gave her an odd look, one similar to those she used to give when she wanted to talk. Jess sat down next to her on the floor and said, "What did you want to say to me?"

Astraelle stepped gracefully into the room noting the crushed trinkets. She stepped carefully through the layers of paper and turned to face Alec.
"Mmmm, a little upset are we?" she said motioning with her arm to the mess all over the floor and completely ignoring Alec's question. The Aura in this room was overpoweringly angry and she tutted softly glancing round the room carefully. She knew Alec was angry but it was almost as if something within the room was angry with him. She wondered if there was something harmful in the room and allowed her own aura to pulse and see if anything reacted. It didn't. Perhaps she was imagining things?.....she snorted. Only a little impossible, she knew for a fact she had no imagination. She turned back to Alec taking in his annoyed expression, but allowing herself to feel a little of the emotion called pride when she saw his stance had relaxed somewhat from his previous anger. She tipped her head on one side and sighed.
“I have information, nothing interesting I’m afraid. You gave the new prisoner to Ebony, correct? A vampire I believe?” Her eyes glazed over a little. “...Jasper....” her eyes refocused. “Oh, I apologise, I simply wished to inform you that Ebony’s interrogation methods will kill him, if you don’t interfere soon.”
She looked at him, and then ran her hand through her hair. “My visions have become closer together recently; something important has happened....something that could lead us in a purposeful direction. If you have any information for me that could help interpret my visions I would be grateful for it.” She attempted to refrain from wincing as her headache grew stronger, she hadn’t been lying the visions had been coming much faster and closer together, but the flashes were meaningless and all they did was cause her pain. She bit the inside of her lip as the headache beat a relentless beat on the inside of her skull.
She really needed to get back to her room before the next vision else she was going to be prone to collapse in the corridor. She turned her attention back to Alec, silently begging him to speak fast.
