"Eh. I think it would look even better covered in barbecue sauce, personally," she said dismissively to RoChan. She must have been hungry.
"Oh - no, I'm not Sevilin's guardian. He's under the care of Werika, actually." Mouse craned her body up again to scan the area, but she couldn't find her Raevan to point out to Josh. "Mine's... uh..." Wow, she either must have drifted fairly far off, or someone nearby was blocking the mechanic's view... So to substitute for just pointing her out, she gave her acquaintance a description he could go by. "Well, when you run into her, she's the one with the brown wings and 80's hair. Name's Dayo. She's an empath.
"By the way, you're asking a lot less questions than I've been getting from some other people." Her voice became tentative as she led up to a question for him: "I hear a few more fel essences got shipped out around Christmas... any chance you got one of them?" Real shot in the dark, but it was worth a try.

Aki let the Raevans mingle, finishing her little drink in another sip. Roux and Lucretia seemed to be doing just fine, so she excused herself from the conversation. She rather liked Lucia, though she'd just met the Raevan, and ordered her up a drink as well with her next round.
"Two strawberry daquiri's, one virgin, please!" She winked at her old friend behind the bar, and grabbed the orders as soon as they were ready. "Many thanks!"
As she handed one to Lucia, Aki smiled...tipping her glass towards Lucia's with a clink. "Cheers!" She examined the girl over the rim as she took her first sip. Aki'd had a few drinks already, which would probably explain why she accidentally handed the wrong drink to Lucia. "You know, you and Melisande go well together. So beautiful! Like night and day, side by side! Have you met many of the others?" Aki took another sip, batting the pink umbrella aside with a flick of her finger.

Roux, however, could be rude. And he was.
Roux narrowed his eyes darkly at the feline as it approched. The Invader, as he thought of her. He'd finally gotten Chloe back and then she'd come into the house and Chloe had spent much of her time being mindful of the Frei. Lucia was not Chloe's.
Wings flared a little bit as the Ice Roc bristled... perhaps some latent age-old dislike had something to do with it as well. She was a cat, afterall, and he a bird. A Roc was not any kind of avian that would flee in terror from a cat, though. They were King of the sky.
Roux floated forward to be in front of Lucretia, the temperature dropping further. It was becoming quite a strain on him to be using his powers in this heat... the hot air and sand were sapping all of the cold he was creating. By now the shade beneath the Beach Buffet was quite chilly indeed.
"Go away." He crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at the cat with peircing, unblinking eyes.
Predator's eyes.

Tango took the ice cube carefully in his front teeth, waiting until Kale's hand was away before throwing his head back to get it further into his mouth. He held his head down to chew, but was interrupted as the two who stood on two legs began to walk forward. He would just have to let it melt in his mouth for now, though he often adjusted it during the walk, giving them a small, crunchy accompaniment.
Regularly, Ani messed with the strap of her shoulder bag until it was settled comfortable across her chest--not between it. The last time she had seen Josh was cooped up in a malfunctioning elevator in Durem where the heater had broken, so her appearance at that moment was old news to the boy, though it had been dark. She wondered briefly if David would also be making an appearance, but she swept it away, figuring he had better things to do than come to some fund raiser he probably had no affiliation with.
"Where do you live, Kale?" Small talk. But it was better then awkward silence. Silence was fine, but she had a feeling it was awkward for him, with his stuttering (despite that most likely having a totally different cause then just shyness).

Smiling with a grin, he couldn't help but agree. Who couldn't get lost in such a breath-taking view? Even he himself wouldn't mind being plunged into that seemingly infinite azure horizon.
Speaking with a delighted voice he finally spoke. "Of course, it's pretty much the only time of the year I ever get to enjoy it, too."
So many years has passed and so many summers he has spent throughout high school. And this one summer, Aden was the only one who was unfortunate enough to be left behind by his friends. It didn't bother him much. Especially now that he has found a brand new world known as the Raevans.
I'm still rather curious about those things... Wonder how can anyone make these things?
"Oh, I'm Aden, by the way, haha. Nice to meet you." he introduce himself briefly as he stared off to enjoy the view as well before drifting off in thought once again.
"Are you on summer vacation, too?"

Kale watched the Bar carefully as the interaction between people kept going on. Listening carefully he turned at Ani's question and frowned as a first response. He hated when people asked him where he lived.
Shifting uneasily as he walked he finally mustered the energy to say it. "I don't have a home, I sort of just wander around. . ." Kale admitted a bit louder than his normal tone. Averting Ari's gaze knowing it would hold disappointment or pity he looked down to Tango.
Kale wanted a home, but couldn't really get one. Not being human and all.

Trying to be at least a little polite, Lucia turned towards Lucretia. She straightened her neck and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Hello."
As Roux came towards her her eyes narrowed and flashed with anger. Roux may have been the king of his castle when he locked himself in his room, but she had no tolerance for anything to do with him. As he rose up above her intimidatingly and the temperature dropped she broke the eye contact and looked at her nails in a bored fashion. As Roux spoke to her she glanced up at him, and completely ignored him as she turned to Aki and accepted her drink
Her head turned to Aki as she spoke. "Salut" replied the raevan to Aki's 'cheers' -- a phrase she heard whenever Yuurei drank. "Thank you for the drink!" Something made her want to impress Aki and completely piss Roux off.
As Lucia took a small sip she noted a slightly odd flavor, but the sweet and bitter taste of the strawberry and alcohol mixture suited her.
After a few sips she smiled widely at Aki (a very rare sight to be seen). "Meh . . . Meli . . . Me is very pretty. She's different, but nice." Lucia did not understand the essence differences between herself and the other raevan, but she instinctually knew they were almost opposites. "I haven't met many other raevans. Some of them feel very different from me . . . like Me -- but I like her" (she wanted to impress Melisande's guardian) "and others feel similar. . . though I haven't met any." She smiled and her eyes shone towards Aki. She nodded her head towards Roux. "He's also different. But nothing like her."

The closer they got, the colder the air became. Odd. Or maybe not, considering how many cold drinks there were probably being served, let alone all the ice in storage? Ah well, it was refreshing either way, and Tango thought so, too, as his panting slowed the further along they went.
Her brow raised immediately at that prospect; homeless? And at a fund raiser? The logic seemed flawed, but his reasons were his own. Of course she felt bad for him, but she had learned quickly that most normal people didn't like being the object of pity, and so she attempted to turn it around into something humorous while at the same time making sure he knew she wasn't making light of his situation--a difficult skill, to be sure.
"Wander around? Like an adventurer?" she had wanted to use the word 'hobo', oh yes, but she hadn't actually met anyone homeless before and wasn't sure if that was a rude term or not. Ani loosened Tango's leash a bit, giving him more reign to move ahead of them to the cooler air which seemed to be drawing him ever closer. Closer to one of the Raevan's. An icy chill surrounded him, with white hair, a small crown, and a parasol? Perhaps for shade. If she were smarter, she would have done the same, but thankfully she remembered her sun screen and slathered as much as she could on every single bit of skin showing. Tango crept closer, sniffing at the Icy Sigel's hand, unintentionally nudging it with his wet nose in the process.

Goose bumps rippled over Chris's flesh as the temperature suddenly dropped in the shade of the beach bar. Giving a small shiver, she looked around for the source of this cold. What she found was an icy (she couldn't think of any better term) Raevan regarding a cat-eared female raevan with extreme distaste. No--distaste was a woeful understatement. Chris did her best not to be noticed by the two. She had a very strong feeling that she would not want to be caught in any crossfire.
Cierra had also noticed the two raevans. Slowly and casually, she positioned herself between Chris and the raevans, giving a small smile to Chris as her eyeliner etched green eyes flashed, showing that she wasn't going to let anyone hurt her roommate.
Chris gave a small "Thank you," to Cierra, finally being able to relax a little again.

Laughing for the first time Kale stopped in his tracks. "No, No you have i-it all wrong." Twitching nervously he continued to shake with laughter without letting it out. Pulling the pack off his front he petted Tango letting himself calm down. "I do have a place to live, I just don't like it so I find myself awake and out a lot. . ." He patted Ani on the shoulder one time his arm going through a bit. Hoping she hadn't noticed he pulled it back and stuffed it behind his back.

A light breeze rustled her purple hair, which was uncharacteristically down for once. Though welcoming as the breeze was, it did seem much more cold than it should have been. Ebony gave an involuntary shudder due to it. She shook it off, “I’m Ebony. Pleasure to meet you Aden.”
When the boy asked if she was on vacation too, Ebony couldn’t help but give a light chuckle. It was then that she realized the boy had to be younger in comparison to herself to be asking such a question. “No, I’m not on summer vacation. Just a day off from work really. But I can only assume that you are since you asked. Bit young to be hanging out at the bar, eh mate?” Of course she asked it in jest, knowing that the bar most likely had other things besides alcoholic beverages.

Josh watched as Mouse reached great new heights, namely she seemed to rise a few inches as she stood on her tip toes. The woman stretched over the bar in a lacksidasical search for her charge. Josh would have help in the short lived hunt, that is, if he had know what exactly he was looking for. He listened to her scanty and curt description. Generally, the scarce amount of details wouldn’t have been enough to determine a person from a group as large as the one attending the festival. However, it generally wasn’t hard to pick out a floating half torso with brown wings. Josh nodded, “I’ll have to say hello whenever I see her around.” Josh smirked at Mouse’s next comment, “I can ask more questions if you want me too.”
Josh was slightly taken aback when the woman started her own interrogation. The boy chuckled shakily and cleared his throat hesitantly, “Well, you see my package kinda got lost in the Lab explosion. It so happens a homeless man managed to find it before I did. Well, long story short. Yes, I did get an essence around Christmas.” He hoped that Mouse wouldn’t devil any further into how he obtained his essence. The boy would rather leave his near rape experience untold and under wraps. “It is called Self-Indulgent Ink. It has a pretty nasty attitude if I do say so. I left it at home. So right now it is probably making pictures of how stupid I am for leaving it bottled up in my room.” Josh sighed and took a breath. He had said quite a mouthful just then.

As the other girl backed off, Lucretia reached out to touch Roux's shoulder lightly. Had he been trying to protect her or something? Whether he was or not, though, she felt a bit more relaxed once Lucia had turned her attention elsewhere.
"Your magic is very strong," Lucretia commented, glancing down to observe that Roux's form seemed a bit more complete than her own, though he, too, lacked feet. "I can't make a whole room cold yet," she admitted. She had wanted at one point to ask him about Rivener and why he hated her, but that did not really seem to matter anymore. Maybe if the scorpion Raevan himself showed up.
It felt like enough of a victory that she had gone and met Roux in spite of Rivener's warnings. And that Roux was far nicer than Rivener.
That left the Ice Rose without really all that much to talk about, though. Idle chatting and small talk still eluded her. But Roux seemed like a Raevan of few words so far, though; maybe she would see if he had anything to say.
Dark eyes wide and curious, Lucretia settled for reaching out to try to touch his wings. They were different than hers, and larger.

(( Entrance>> Sand and Stuff))
The hot sun did it's best to fry the sunny beach while two figures walked along the asphalt next to the beach. Lauma glided along, the black sunglasses perched on her small nose making her flat expression even more ambiguous and unrevealing than it already was. The sun didn't seem to have the slightest effect on her, although it was doubtful any of it's oh-so-deadly rays even got to her with the amount of sunscreen Jupiter made her put on. It helped that she wore nothing a light, sheer, wraparound and bathing suit bottoms on her waist and only her bathing suit top on her chest. The suit itself was light blue and had a bubbly, tye-dye pattern on it. The top had several frilly bits on it which Lauma would occasionally reach up and touch. Lauma would've looked adorable if her expression had been one of cute joy and excitement about the beach instead of a (nearly)soulless stare.
In comparison to her brother, Lauma was one cool cat. Jupiter lagged behind her wearing a white rash guard and bright orange swimming trunks that were slightly too large for him. He huffed a bit as he carried about six bags stuffed full of beach supplies, an umbrella, three towels, and a rather large and awkward beach ball. His sunglasses had fallen down his nose and become crooked and his wide eyes stared uneasily at his sister walking ahead of him slowly getting farther away.
"Eh, Lauma please stop at the top of that hill so I can catch up..." Jupiter said slightly uneasily. Lauma was listening to him less and less these days.
"..." Lauma didn't say anything but did as Jupiter asked, stopping at the top of a tiny hill leading to the beach.
"I think someone took our spot..." Lauma said and as Jupiter reached the crest of the hill he saw what she meant. Someone had rented out their favorite, usually deserted beach spot and decided to throw some kind of party or festival on it. The pair looked at the large number of people milling about having fun. The crowd was confusing to Jupiter.
Lauma was not confused by the crowd though. Her eyes slowly moved from place to place absorbing all the information. Games, buffet, beach... her eyes found something that excited her. She saw two ghosts floating on the beach. They were very pretty, a mint green one and a female one. Lauma had never seen ghosts like these, but what else could they be. She had learned to avoid ghosts but something drew her towards them. "Pretty ghosts..." she trailed off. Suddenly she bounced down the stairs and ran onto the beach, her black flip flops flipping and flopping.
"Ghosts? Jupiter repeated. The word struck terror into his blood. Lauma had seen ghosts and she was so vulnerable. Without even looking to see where his sister was going, he dashed down the stairs after her, attempted to anyway. He ended up getting tangled up in the massive amount of stuff he was carrying and instead falling in a huge, conspicuous crash on the edge of the beach where everyone was. He panicked as he flailed and tried to get up while tangled in the straps of his bags.
Lauma flew right up to the ghosts and froze, staring at them blankly with her unnerving expression for a few uncomfortable seconds. Then she said, "You're ghosts."

Lucia's actions had no affect on him, in fact... she was doing what he had told her to - gone away, at least to some degree. A haughty, mean smile played across his lips as he deemed this a small victory.
He was immediatly distracted by two different things, however... first by the cold nose prodding against his hand. He looked down with a dark glower, spotting the culprit. A canine. Roux pulled his hand away... had he legs he might have kicked the dog as well. His ire was quickly rising, the heat, the crowd, that damn cat Frei and now a dog. The temperature plummited within Roux's immediate vicinity, probably reaching out no further than a few feet around him. It was much, much more difficult to make a space outside cooler, not to mention when it was so hot.
The second distracting thing was something far... far less expected. Roux's eyes widened slightly, a small gasp escaping his lips as he felt fingers brushing against his wings. They flared out to their fullest, larger than any other Frei or Sigel's span... though that could be expected from one with the soul of a Roc.
Roux reached out to grasp Lucretia's wrist, frowning down at her. His grip softened, and then let go. He wasn't exactly angry with her, more uncomfortable. Nobody had touched his wings before... nobody. Not even Rivener. "Why?" He meant why had she touched them, though weather or not the message was conveyed depended on Lucretia.
