Jole could feel himself growing angry at Tobi's words.
You wouldn't understand!
He forced himself to calm down.
"Sorry, bud," he smiled, his plastic grin slightly misplaced. "Anyone want to get stuck into the food now? I'm starving."

"You guys go on, I'm going to stay here for a while." Charlie said, looking out the window.
Tobi got up. "I'll go." he looked at Charlie, blinking.

"You sure?" Jole asked Charlie, picking up the blanket from the bed and the basket that Abby had brought.

Tobi hopped up then hugged Charlie. He then pulled away, stealing her hat.

"Tobi, give it a break," Jole said testily, swinging open the door to the clubhouse. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something about Tobi really got to him.
"See you in a while, Charlie. If you fancy catching us up, I reckon we'll be down at the creek somewhere." He smiled, and walked out of the clubhouse, swinging the picnic basket.

Charlie snatched her hat back, Tobi smiled and ruffled her hair. "See you in a bit." He walked out.

"Sound good." Abby said. She sat down next to Charlie. "Hey, everything alright?" She asked. "Is it about the bracelet? Remember Jole's a famous rock star. I'm sure a crazy fan just stole it. We could always get new jewerly. Mine used to turn my neck green anyway." Abby wrapped around Charlie. "What's up?"

"I'm not sure." She said quietly. "But Jole seemed to direct his answer at you, but I was the one who asked the question. We worked together on the bracelets too... I just feel... sad when he does that."

Jole walked a few paces, his eyes on the dirt path. The woolen blanket felt like lead in his arms. Suddenly he heard a few heavy steps behind him. He turned.
"But..." His voice trailed away. Jole frowned. "Where's Abby?" he asked, staring curiously at Tobi. "I thought she was coming."

"Yeah, I thought that was weird." Abby said. "But did you notice that Tobi looked at you quiet a lot. Even when you weren't talking."

"She appears to be with Charlie. Girl talk y'know." He shrugged.
"No... I didn't..." Charlie glanced at Abby. Her mind began to compare things with Abby. Charlie had a smidgen of talent in everything she tried, Abby was outstanding in her talent. Abby had stunning blonde hair and incredibly pretty eyes. Charlie had mud brown hair and brown eyes. Abby was an artist. Charlie was a waitress. Charlie looked away, trying to stop comparing.

"Why should you care anyway? You have a HOT.....I mean.....great boyfriend. Not to mention someone who practically proposed to you." Abby said. The things Charlie had, she wanted. Someone to love, a job that pays, and family who love and cherish her.

Jole gritted his teeth. The last thing he wanted to do was to go on a little tea-party picnic with Tobi.
"Maybe we should head back, it'd be ruined with just two of us," he said pointedly.

"Let them talk. Charlie needs this I think." Tobi said lowly, looking at the little cabin. "If we barge in, it'll ruin the girl moment."
"I'm not sure I like him-I mean, I do- but I don't love him. I'm not even sure why I asked him out..." She did... sort of... it was the day after everyone left (at almost precisely the same time) and she was lonely and had nothing to do on Saturdays. Her mind continued to compare herself with everyone in the group, despite her efforts to stop. How did she surround herself with such fabulous and talented people?

Abby stood up and started pacing. "Then break it off. If it's not meant to be then it's not meant to be." She shrugged. "Do what you want to do. Go for Jole. Go for Tobi. Which ever one makes you happy. I say go with Jole since he seems to like you already. Although, that might be weird seeing as we've known each other since high school. Practically sooner than that. But still. Try it. You never know what could happen."
