Hmmm neither? I liked L, but if I had to choose I would choose Mello hands down!
I cannot stand near. x.x Spoiler: I can't beilieve they killed off one of the best characters just to replace him with somebody who IS EXACTLY LIKE HIM! What the ******** was the point of that??? At least mello had some originality to him. : That series was such a let down after L died, and he wasn't even my favorite character! X___X
Ahh anime brings me back, so...
(hope somebodies a sailor moon fan! ;3)

Personally, on the topic of death note, I think it was the only way to move the plot forward.
If L lived, he would've tested the 13 day rule, prove it false, arrest Light,

If L's a genius...If L's a freak...Moar spoilers xD I think it was interesting to see a look/act alike to L.
I dunno, I liked Near, even if he was a pill. The creators said they originally had him act like a kid because, you know, he is a kid, and were surprised when people saw his kid-like-ness as being a jerk xDD
He wasn't really "original" but I think Mello made up for it.
But, as much as I do like Near, I agree, Mello's better n on

I liked Mello alot, Misa was my personal favorite character, despite all her haters. XD
Anyways, you didn't name somehting else to choose between!
One more thing, I totally agree abou Seiya > Mamo

He's the main character in the novel Death Note: Another Note n .n
Basically, he was raised to be a copy of L, and in the novel he turns
into a criminal to try and surpass L.
