[[I hate to OOC, but I was wondering who the three students Machi sees are. I think Cory, Rylan, and Aaric are the only group of three but, you know...just to make sure. ]]

[[@Kopipiko: I don't really mind OOC as long as there's more in character posts going on. @Ace: Nooo! Max is so cute. whee @N.A.T.A.: Yeah.... I'm not sure what you're talking about either... It would have been easier if you would have described them.]]

OOC: If it avoids further confusion I shall be more in detail who he sees. Yes, he tumbled into the room where Cory, Rylan and Aaric are. And you have me there. I was trying to find a short cut since I was running a bit late to the rifle range today. I ended up cutting my post short. I'll take care with further posts since Machi is a very different character I'm trying out. redface

[[Okay, I just wanted to make sure. :] ]]
Coralie smiled pleasantly and shook her head. "It's fine. You don't have to apologize," she replied. She saw no problem with a little bit of play-fighting between brothers, as long as nobody was hurt.
Just then, something seemed to tumble out of the fireplace. Coralie's heart jumped in surprise, though she made no movement. The dust that blew out tickled her nose and she sneezed into her handkerchief. Curiously, she looked up at what she now saw was a student.
"Hello," she greeted in a small, tentative voice. It was against the rules for her to actually be in the boys' room, so she stayed at the doorway. "Um...excuse me for being impolite, but what are you doing?" The shyness that Aaric and Rylan had eroded away was now back at full force. Coralie drew her knees up against her and nervously tucked her hair behind her ears.
The new arrival had a foreign air, and seemed a little odd to the girl. She tried a kind smile and pulled her legs closer, careful to arrange her skirts around them neatly. Her dark blue eyes quickly looked over him before she averted her gaze to the floor.

He was surprised when she asked if he had to leave, but his features softened somewhat and a gentle smile spread over his face. Take her hand and placing in the crook of his arm, he slowly led her out of the room. "My dear lady, I never said I was leaving, merely that I was glad you decided to dance with me."

For Machi it seemed as though he had been set up for utter failure. Everything from his timing of investigating the small crawl space to over estimating the strength needed to open the stone slab, and now his most ungraceful entrance ever to be witnessed by his fellow students.
Of course to be truthful, none of this ever settled in until after the boy's world stopped spinning in his head. And when he sat there in all his cobwebbed and dusty glory, he realized just how completely odd he must have seemed to the two boys and (he had hoped he was hearing things from giving his brain a good tumble) young girl at the door way. All he could manage was a stupid look as though they were not suppose to be there, that they had intruded.
'They' being two young boys who looked at first glance to be siblings of some kind. Come to think of it, Machi had seen them briefly but never gave much thought to make a connection. Next, his eyes flittered over to where the young girl stood. Ah, now her he remembered more readily, be it due to her pretty looks or something else. Her furtive look reminded him of a timid animal, a doe or fawn that could be scared away by just words alone.
Then finally it dawned upon the young prince from the islands. He had so rudely barged in, intentional or not, and they were waiting for him to explain himself. And so frantically recalling what he remembered of earlier, he raised one filthy hand up in his most awkward greeting yet. "Hallooo, Jfahakj Ro..." Machi's mind caught up with him then as he realized what he was saying was wrong. Again he tried as he stood up trying to dust himself off and be somewhat of being on the same level of presentation as his fellow students. "Happy to meet you." Unfortunately he didn't quite know them, didn't have a name for the faces. The girl in the door way spoke up, but Machi could only understand her in the barest means. Her tone he had picked up was quizzical, and most glances he could trace from the others present went to his passage behind him. Thus Machi just assumed they were asking about his 'way' in. The prince looked behind him, webs wafting free from his hair at the sudden movement as he contemplated what to say, if anything at all. Since nothing came to mind, Machi automatically reached for his book. A few short refrences and a lot of skimming later Machi had an answer to all their questions. First he pointed to himself "My name is Machi..." Then he pointed behind him straight at the fireplace where he'd emerged. "Hidden Path."

Lady Josephine smiled brightly, curling her fingers lightly around Lord Canis's arm. She followed after him. "Where are going Lord," she asked, her voice brimming with unlocked curiousity. Her dress swished with each step, her hair falling in front of her face occassionally. She couldn't keep her eyes of the man in front of her.

Bella yawned and stretched as she had just finished the last sentence of the chapter she had read from the book. It was a really interesting book, but she had enough of reading for now. She set the books down on the table and sat up from her seat and walked towards the exit of the library. Going into the hallway, she looked both ways, seeing if anyone was there. She shrugged her shoulders and just continued walking in the hallway and down stairs to the main floor. Bella looked around some more to see if there was anything to do since she was close to being bored already.
Finding the parlor nearby, she walked into that room, seeing comfortable couches and more elegant styled furniture. Bella resumed to view her surroundings and the design of it, it was very detailed. While she walked, she was not careful of her steps and tripped yet again on the end of her gown. Stumbling a bit, she blushed at her own stupidity and too a deep breath to calm her nerves. 'Why am I so flustered for...I should not be this nervous and what am I even nervous for...?' She thought to herself. She did not even know what was wrong with her or it is maybe the fact that she is so knew to this school. Sitting herself down on the elegant couch, she took another deep breath. Sighing, she leaned her head back against the couch and closed her eyes to rest. Bella was not sleeping, just merely settling her mind so she would not stutter and stumble over herself or anything like that.

The prince found the garden quite comforting. Maxwell's nose was overwhelmed with the perfumed scent of flowers as he walked along the path. After walking in the silence for a bit, he settled down beneath a large tree, hidden by the shadows it cast. He had a book in his hand, and set it on his knees. But there were to many things running through his head, and the prince was not able to concentrate on the words right in front of him. Why did mother send me here? I am unsocial and not worthy of such honor.

Rylan had to admit he was taken aback by the cobweb-covered prince's arrival from the fireplace. "Hidden path?" he repeated. He glanced at Aaric. "Hey, that's another thing we can do around here. There're hidden passages at home, why shouldn't there be some at the academy?" He wondered why he hadn't thought of it already. He glanced at the prince again. "Where does this 'hidden path' lead?" he asked. On the other hand, the prince didn't seem to understand much English, so he might not be able to follow Rylan's rambling speech.
As Lady Maybelline flushed again, Lord Taite wondered what was wrong for a moment. Then he too blushed and released her, stood, and then took her hand and pulled her up. He was careful to actually let go this time. "Sorry," he said with a small sheepish smile. "I was a little distracted - by the incident of course, not you - not that you're not distracting - I mean..." It was truly a rare occurance when the eloquent Lord Taite was tongue-tied, and the way he knew that he was falling for someone.

Lady Maybelline couldn't help but giggle as Lord Taite stumbled with his words. Her emerald eyes sparkled as one slender finger went to his lips. "Lord Taite, I have never seen you at a loss for words. Are you inquiring something," she asked, keeping her finger to his lips. It was a rheotorical question, and she did not expect an answer from him. The smile still remained on her lips as she gazed at the man in front of her.

The prince's strange antics stirred both Coralie's puzzlement and her curiosity. Though her eyes were lowered to the ground, she glanced up occasionally to see him flipping through a book. Her suspicions of his foreign origin strengthened when she heard his slightly broken, accented English.
She raised her head at the mention of a hidden path and saw Machi pointing at the fireplace. Hidden path? Really! The thought of exploration sparked her interest. As a child, nobody had ever allowed her to play and adventure like the other children did, probably because of her weakness and her tendency to get lost. But here - here, she could break the rules once in a while, she could have fun and be fun. She wouldn't have to be the boring girl, the one nobody ever noticed and nobody liked to spend time with.
As usual, Coralie didn't notice that she had begun to space out again. She started to daydream about the life she could have had - a life without a condition, a life with friends, a life with something more than just her books. What a life it could have been, eh, Cory? her inner voice said snidely, and she subconsciously pulled her knees closer to her body in an attempt to block it out.
[[Maybe Machi can actually speak perfect English, but I'm assuming he has an accent and doesn't speak too fluently. Hopefully, that's not a wrong assumption! Oh, and when is Noelani going to be back? I just have a feeling that Aaric wouldn't be one to sit through this quietly.]]

Two teachers - a lady and a lord - left the music room. Where their destination was, Damien didn't know. He melted into the shadows of the staircase above them, more out of habit than an intention to hide. The sullen noble closed his eyes and sank back lazily on his elbows.
He listened to his surroundings, just as he had listened outside. It was relaxing, listening, and it put one's mind in tune with the rest of the world. He did not strain his ears but simply was aware of all the sounds around him. There was a creak of a stair and a door, a slight wind from an open window. Somewhere, he thought he heard a small laugh, but it may have been a figment of his imagination. No matter. He did not dwell on any of the sounds.
Except for the singing. Now he could hear it, a faint voice coming from above. At first, Damien had the wild thought of angels, but then quickly berated himself for being an idiot. Surely angels' voices were far more pleasant than that of a human.
The singer was a girl, he concluded, and one about the same age as himself. The song was nice and calming. But neither of these things interested him as much as where the sound was coming from. As far as he knew, he was on the highest floor of the castle. The only one higher would be the roof.
A rare smile graced the boy's fair-skinned face, and he opened his dark eyes to look up. The roof of his own home had been his sanctuary, more peaceful and refreshing than even his room. Without a second thought, Damien made his way up the stairs.
With little fumbling, he came across an old door. It looked like it should have been locked, but actually opened rather easily. The wind ruffled his newly black hair and he looked out over the school grounds. A kind of thrill rushed up his spine and brought a tint of unexpected colour to his face.
He would have missed the girl if he hadn't recognized her. Cassi sat against the parapet. He offered no smile but simply nodded his acknowledgment before taking a seat near the edge of the roof.
"I've been looking for a nice place for myself," he said, though it was unclear whether it was to her or to himself. "Looks like somebody else has found the best spot in the castle before me." He looked down on the school grounds, steely eyes watching the people with equal parts intensity and disinterest.

Even with Fuego teaching Machi since he was younger, his speech impediment was still quite troublesome. He listened to Rylan speak when he was certain the other was speaking to him. “Where…does…hidden path…lead.” He mimicked aloud not so much for them to hear, but for his own benefit as his mind processed these words. They were simple words and easy enough to understand what the other was asking. Machi expertly referred back to his book to make a proper response. If anything, having the book so long, Machi knew where to look to find what he needed. Pages flew at an amazing rate as the boy scanned his book before looking to them. “Don’t know. I found in book place. Hidden path came here to this room. There are more hidden paths.” Machi had a bit of trouble speaking as his tongue could not roll the words correctly and he felt he may have pronounced a few things wrong, but hopefully he was able to convey what he was trying to say. If Fuego had seen him now, he’d have been proud. Stringing whole sentences together all by himself! With a bit of help from the book, Machi had understood what Rylan had said, and then formed a response. The boy turned around in all his cob web glory and knelt next to the fire place he had burst from. “More hidden paths.” Machi said again as he crouched and peered in to the dark hole. Then he made a motion as if trying to scratch marks into the air with his curled fingers. Replicating what he’d seen inside the secret passage way. “Dangerous. Maybe.” He didn’t know what he’d find, didn’t know what the passages contained. But he now knew that if there was one passage to this room, there might be a similar passage to all their rooms! Who really knew? And he had a pretty good (or bad) feeling that there was other rooms not accessible by normal means, those secret rooms hidden to keep a secret. What would they find if they indeed did find them? For some reason Treasure wasn’t high on Machi’s expectations (considering the scratch on the walls) but it would be interesting if they did find some.

Another small smile drifted across his features as they passed the stairway and he led her slowly to the main stairs. When she asked where they were going, Canis shrugged. "Where ever you would like to go. I've got no particular destination in mind, aside for a simple walk." His voice was teasing as he glanced at her slightly, another grin on his face. "Unless that does not please you?"
She jumped slightly as he came into her line of vision and Cassi was surprised that she hadn't heard that old door open. Sighing, she immediatly stopped singing and stared at him in wary disinterest. Cassi wasn't really sure why, but now that she had gotten the chance to get away from him, something felt odd; but then again, she tended to have the weirdest feelings. Deciding to ignore it for the time being, she offered up a small smile and watched as he sat near the edge. When he said that he had been looking for a place for himself, Cassi couldn't help but to smile sheepishly. "I'm willing to share so long as you don't tell the others about it."
