Storm shrugged, then looked back at Lin. "Yeah, I guess we might as well go back inside," he agreed. "After all, we have a few weeks to explore the whole ranch, and I bet someone will even take us to see Ulani and Ulrich again, and see Aliya and her family."
"Well, the rest of her family," Starr pointed out. "Since we just met her husband."
Shiro took Ura's hand once more and followed after Lin. "Well that worked out quite fortuitously," he smiled. "Everyone speaks so highly of Nako ... I'm anxious to meet her."

"Hmmm... actually I don't know the answer to that question, I've never seen her fly," Ryu admitted, "Triton or mother might know the answer to your question though."
Since Triton had taken her on traveling with him and of course his mother had used Tao to help her travel back when there were less children in the family.
Feng smiled warmly at that, it sounded like Shael was just as helpful as always. Somethings she supposed didn't really change at all.
"How is Shael?"

Lin was half tempted to ask him what that word meant, but decided against it. It was just a part of Shiro that he used big words too, besides she could kind of guessed what that meant. She led the way back to the barracks, matching her pace with Shiro's.
"I'm sure she'll be happy to meet you too, she likes her grandkids."

Adan grinned. "Another question for Kara-san when I see her again!" he said brightly, completely nonplussed. "Lots of questions!" He giggled and stretched out his fingertips to brush them against the griffin's beautiful wings.
Aliya laughed softly once more, but she passed her hand over her face, brushing back a stray hair.
"Ah, well, that's a bit of a loaded question," she murmured sheepishly. "For the most part she's good ... but she's been quite angry since Adonai left without telling anyone but Mum and Ada where he went. They won't say a thing. Shael and Adonai got into quite the row when he was getting ready to leave ... which reminds me ... I should probably warn you not to mention him when she's around, it sort of sets her off again and while I can't blame her for being upset with him ..."
She paused, then laughed again, slightly embarrassed. "I do prefer my dinners not to be burnt."

"That's what Celebor says," Shiro said happily. "Mother, too. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous as to whether she'll be comfortable with me or frightened of me ... Mother says that she had a bad experience with a demon here when she was young ... but ... I'm also hopeful, if that makes any sense."
To be fair, he had a lot of experience already with people being wary of him because of his race, despite his kind disposition.

Ryu chuckled at that, "Well then she'll have a lot of questions to answer."
Not that she would mind, she tended to be willing when it came to questions.
Feng laughed at that, poor Shael though, but she could understand what Aliya meant, "Then I'll have to tell Cindy that too."

"I'm sure she'll be fine," Lin replied back happily, "After all I think demons here are much different than back home, besides the once you open your mouth it's going to be pretty clear you're not like the demons here."
It wasn't a bad thing, it was just that Shiro was the most polite person she had ever known.

"You said that the others were heading over to the ranch," Aliya said thoughtfully, laying her head against the back of the couch. "I'm sure Haradhel would think to warn her. Shael's already back here for the day, as far as I know, so it's not like it's all that pressing a matter."
In Feng's arms, Adonijah started to fidget a bit, making a few squawking noises. Then he yawned, his tiny mouth opening wide, and then he started making a sucking motion, though he was only sucking on his lips and quite possibly his own tongue.

Shiro smiled warmly. He knew what Lin meant.
"Thank you very much," he said sincerely. "Mother says that the demons that inhabit this world are ... quite awful, nothing more than killing machines, with nothing but bloodlust filling their entire beings. I would not want to meet one of them, I think." He shuddered. "I can understand why people would be scared of them."
Feeling Shiro's shudder, Ura looked up at his guardian/charge, his own expression worried and anxious.

"Aww....." Feng looked down at the little one.
She had honestly never seen a baby as young as him, even with the last time she visited. She thought the sucking motion was cute.
"Cute cute...." she murmured, "Well I hope so, it has been a long while since Cindy was last here."

Lin nodded, which made her wonder what was fully out there. Well she would figure that out once she was out there.
"Hmm.... yea, I think you kind of get that feeling just by the way people talk."
She stopped in front of the barracks.

"This is her first visit since the ranch was first started, isn't it?" Aliya asked, looking at her son, amazed that he was still awake. "He's probably still hungry ... that was only half a feeding, too ..."
Well there were worse things, though as long as he didn't start screaming she wouldn't bother taking him away from Feng. She was enjoying watching the two of them together.

Shiro stopped with Lin, looking at the enormous building ahead of them.
"What is this?" he asked her curiously. "Quite large ... for the workers, perhaps?"
And then he continued on with the previous conversation.
"Mother gave me a book a while ago," he told Lin, "about the history of this world ... or rather, a brief summary of its history. The complete history would require far too many books ... but apparently the demons are a remnant- a leftover from a war from a very long time ago."
He knew that he used words that most people - even adults - wouldn't understand, and he honestly did try to make himself clear, understandable for the people he spoke with - but sometimes he just plain forgot.

Feng remembered thought and shook her head, perhaps it was time getting to Aliya's memory.
"No, she was there for the first visit to the ranch by any of us. It was her who brought the first batch of medicines," she explained, "I think she was the one who taught Adonai how to use them, which begs the question. Without him, who is helping with that?"

"For the fighters," Lin murmured pointing to the building as she listened to what Shiro had to say.
At least he was pretty good at using smaller words though she knew remnant wasn't one of them, however she did know enough history to guess what he meant by that. Shiro was like a puzzle that way, you just had to figure out where to fill in the blanks.
"That's what I've heard," she mused, "I heard the island where she came from was full of demons, though I don't know if it's still like that. Earendil wants to go see it, though I hope if he plans to we stay on the ship and just look at the island, but that's probably because I'm not much of a fighter yet."
She mused a bit more, she should really start learning match, the excuse that she was too young simply won't do anymore. Granted did she try to learn from her grandfather, but that didn't go over too well.
