“Hmmm Shisei-kun, you think too much and your head will explode. That it will.” the wily boy stated, crossing his arms and purposely leaning on the dreaded cranium of the pale boy. He expected to get some type of physical reaction out of him. Just to break the hypnotism that Shisie’s brain had put himself under. Yet a simply ‘get off’ was all he could get. Even after receding for a few more seconds the snake youth did not flinch. His mind was elsewhere. Reclining off of him he turned back to Kane with a smiling gap. “Kane-kun you better hurry. That you must the competition is still going to keep going and I want to see what else you guys are going to do. Indeed!”. Brassa was the first to set off of the last group.

The crafty snake allowed everyone else to leave, before he moved. His mind had begun to wonder if he should stroll off by himself and get some training done. With the fun that everyone else was having it wouldn’t be too hard to disappear. The blonde genin would have to deal with the problem of a missing partner on his own. The more Shisei thought of it, the better the idea seemed. His thinking did not stray much even when freckle face pushed down on top of his head, although his original thoughts of the competitors had drifted somewhere else. “Get off.” was all small snake stated as he stared at the last few participants and crowd leave. Listening to them was mildly curious. “Feh. ‘Nicely fought’ and ‘Good game’? Why so cheerful? There is no good game if you’re not in first place.”. After a few more minutes of contemplation he decided to at least check out what next exercise would be at the Tategami Grounds. If it didn’t seem appealing, which it most likely wouldn’t he’d just disappear and get some solo training done. Perhaps in the Bamboo or Sorrowful Forest. “We should go Kane-sempai.”

[I think it's Training Grounds Katz... god, i'm so tired]

"Yeah, we gotta go. Mmmm... I'm with you, Shisei-kun," Kane said noncommittally, his mind on the next task already. He wondered what it would be - Shinichi-sama hadn't said, after all. Above all Kane hoped that it was something they would be good at, and perhaps just a little part of him was hoping that it didn't require that much teamwork. Kane saw how badly they'd worked as a team compared with the other groups after all. Speaking of which, his arms were hurting slightly from the swim and the huge temperature shock change they had gone through. From cold, to warmed-up, to cold again due to the lagoon water and the effects of near-hypothermia. Kane didn't want to decrease the effectiveness of his muscles, after all, and considering that he hadn't even warmed up he may as well do proper cool-down stretches. After taking his shirt out from his pants and plastering it on his shoulder in a futile attempt to dry it, he donned his jacket and dao before following Shisei, executing a tricep stretch in the mean time.

Chancing a look at Shisei, he commented, "Watching people, Shisei-kun? Hoping to learn from them?" A pause, before Kane said again, quietly, "Orika is pretty feisty, huh? She doesn't look that nimble, though. Maya is a lot nimbler. If the next task is about strength, though, we're not going to have an advantage."

Maya watched everyone leave, then, stroking Baki's heavy mane, followed silently. Training grounds, huh? She hadn't been there in a while...what would they be doing? Maya might have to sit out if it was something based on chakra...or intelligence...or, egads, reading...! A look of absolute horror and fear crossed her face. It was enough that the brat patrol knew, but the rest of the academy? Crap! Maya groaned, unhappy, and Baki, sensing it, growled and pushed her along. No sense in delaying it, then... Maya sighed and loped off towards the training grounds, wondering just what Shinichi had in store for them ...

"Hellooo! Hellooooo!" Kiba called out with his hands cupped around his mouth. Am I in the right place? the young Raiken wondered, for he saw no one around him. He wondered if he might have misread the Kage's simple little post, but then again, what was there to it to misread? It was only three words long after all. "I guess I'm just here early!" Kiba said to himself as his face went from puzzled to grinning again. "I suppose I'll just have to wait a bit!" The young Raiken knew exactly what to do when waiting so he whipped out his trusty wooden sword and decided to do some practice swings. He was quite used to passing the time by this by now. He made a quick horizontal slice to begin his practice.

Slow. It seemed like the perfect word to describe Kiba. He would not keep it from running through his mind. He was not only slow with his sword strikes, but he was also slow mentally. He had been at the lagoon quite some time before he decided that he must be too late for the relays. "Dang it" he muttered with a cross expression on his face. "I can't believe I wasted all this time..." He heaved a great sigh before tucking sword back into his belt. He glanced up at the sky and then back at the ground. He felt like a real fool. Oh well, it would not help him any to just stay there. After wondering where the festival might currently be he slowly dragged himself away from the lagoon to try his luck with a different ambience.

Karite knew what today was and he knew the format of the test. He was determined to show everyone why he had been training so hard. Today he was sitting under the water fall again the water pounding against his head like a constant storm of hail. He had to make sure he was ready for whatever Sensei Yuki could throw at him.

As the water rushed down from the high cliff above him, Karite's body began to lean over slightly from the amount of pressure. He couldn't help it. As the water beat into his back the boys teeth grinned with restraint trying to hold back the groans. His long dark green hair constantly shifting about. "We have to push through this Kore. We have to become stronger.

Kore had been with Karite for a long time now and had grown accordingly. Now almost as big as Baki and sporting his own Black mane the lion trained just like Karite did. Trying his best to sit under the falls the lion found himself slipping in a more laid back position. The falls pressure was even to much for him to handle. Today was a big day for Karite. It had been the day he had been training for since he arrived on the island. Kore would do his best to help he boy and be along side him no matter what.

Seiko arrived at the lagoon and breathed in deeply this place had become something of a sanctuary to him. Now he could think and be at peace with himself. Removing his clothing and the book of balance he sat them at the edge of the hot spring where he normally took his bath. Sliding into the steaming water the boy let out a satisfied sigh that usually came with great feeling. Hanging off the edge of the pool, the boy let his head slide back and pondered the jutsu he found in the records of Shimagakure. "This puppet jutsu sounds very interesting." The boy thought a lot about this jutsu, but every time he did his eye would began to bother him because of that insufferable Meho girl Zoku.

"Hey sweety, I told you should have just killed her. That Tomoko woman has got you scared of something." Redemption was a constant voice in Seiko's mind since he wouldn't voice his murderous intents out loud she would do it inside his mind.

"Be quiet redemption, the boy is not strong enough. We both know this weak little Jio scum couldn't even scratch a Meho, let alone kill one. You saw him when his parents died. He doesn't have what it takes to kill. He is nothing but a coward." Desperado was also a rather annoying voice in his head. Desperado only cared for strength. If you weren't strong enough to destroy everything in your path and take everything you wanted then you weren't strong enough to live.

It was hard for Seiko to focus with these loud thoughts coming in threes. He would have to concentrate on the jutsu and not on Zoku if he wanted them to shut up

Karite could see that shiny headband and knew that he had come to far to little anyone beat him. He may have been slow in learning his jutsu but one thing was for certain no one trained harder than he did. Moving his hands on his knees the boy began to push his body back up to a sitting position. He would not let this waterfall beat him. He wouldn't let anyone beat him ever again. Digging his hands into his thigh he gripped it firmly and let the water rush around his body. His flowing green hair covering his face. The Tategami pride he had acquired over the years was strong inside him and would not let him quit.

The water continued to pound away on the lions body as he tried to move his paws. The surface of the rock was slippery and was hard to move on. Looking out the corner of his golden eyes Kore could see that Karite still had enough fire to withstand this beating by nature. Seeing his partner and brother find the strength to move, he would not be beaten. Digging in his nails into the ground. Kore began to inch his body up slowly until the lion sat as tall as Karite. The water rolling off his chiseled body. Together they would conquer all their opponents, starting with nature itself.

Karite felt stronger than he had ever been, but trying to fight mother nature was a crazy mans goal. As the water continued to beat down for all time Karite knew he would grew old and eventually die. Mother nature withstood the test of time which was something he could not. As the water continued to rip and roar Karite continued his fight. Still getting beat down with every second he found his grip on his thighs loosening and his body being driven back down. As the waterfall continued its constant onslaught with no sign of slowing up his body pushed back down. Staring now into the rock surface he sat on Karite was trying with all his might to stay up.

Kore was strong and right now it showed as Karite slowly slipped back down. Even though he was strong Kore was finding it hard to stay up. Digging in the best he could he found himself constantly resetting his footing in order to stay up. Fighting against the flow was hard, but it would be worth it soon enough. He would continue to have to struggle that was all the Tategami's could do right now. Kore shook his head shaking his mane out and readjust the fibers away from his eyes as he tried his best to stay strong.

Karite was not giving up that easy. He was fighter and he couldn't let Maya down so soon. What of Hana and Orika? They were depending on him to pull out all the stops so they could become a genin. If Maya came back and heard he had failed to pass his exams she would be more than angry with him. Shisei and Tanu would be ahead of him as well. That wasn't going to happen in his book. Finding some strength in his body. Karite began to push his arms up near his head. When his palms laid flat on the rock surface by his ears he began to move upwards back to a sitting position. This was a lot harder than he first anticipated. He would have to suck it up and push forward though

Kore was still having trouble staying up. His body was big and took much more area for a beating. Besides the fact the water was relatively cold compared to the outside world. Thinking of the look Baki would give the newly grown lion if he could not be one with nature Kore dug in deeper his claws now itching into the solid rock surface. Letting out a roar so fierce all the birds in the lagoon fled from the tree tops. If he was going to have to deal with this pounding by mother nature he would let her know of his distaste for it.

Karite wasn't giving up and turning and smiling at his friend he knew Kore wasn't giving up either. The cool water rushing over every muscle and and every vein extruding from his skin felt good. The tons of pressure massaging his body into a fine paste was something Karite could have gone without. His eyes opening wide the water seemed to have hit harder in that moment. His shoulder was throbbing but he couldnt move just yet.

Kore was having difficulties. His paws were slipping again and he was finding it hard to stick to anything. Unlike Maya and Karite who had some control of chakra to allow them to stick to objects he relied on the natural things he was given. His claws however seemed to be giving way to the water eroding the surface he sat on. He found himself constantly having to readjust himself to find good holding. It was a race against the clock now to see if he could manage to stay up before he was at his limit.

Karite was still sitting strong. It had been a while since he had trained his body. He had been so busy teaching Maya to read and learning jutsu from Hana. That he hadn't even trained with his Jo in months. He was glad that he was graduating the academy soon. He could go back to tumbling and fighting all day long if he wanted. He could even show Serena and Sorri a thing or two now. As the raging water kept playing throughout his body like a an amplified note played on a string the only thing the boy could do was shut his eyes an concentrate on pushing the pain out of his mind, but it was getting harder and harder to do with each passing moment

Time did not seem to be on the young lions side as he found himself slipping back down to the surface. Only managing to let out a roar the lion hit laid there trying his best to resurface. His claws were having a hard time trying to find a good spot to dig into. With a foothold the lion was nothing but a rug. It was going to be hard to maneuver now that his bones had fully developed it wouldn't be as easy to squeeze his body the way it use to.

( I am going to roll three dice one for Kores last post and the current one)

Karite looked over to see hat Kore was having some trouble getting back up. It almost looked like his best friend was about to call it quits on him. If Karite had anything to do about it he wasn't. "Come on Kore, what the hell is wrong with us. We can't be Tategami if we let a little water beat us down" The boy was having a hard time himself and had no room to patronize his friend but he was fighting still. He wasnt giving up and he wasn't going to let his best buddy give up either. Grinding his teeth Karite blew water away from his eyes so he could at least attempt to see something in front of him. This was getting harder with each moment.

Kore was still flat on the ground, it was hard to move like this. Listening to the speech his partner gave him Kore responded in a series of growls and purrs. As he big as the lion had gotten he was still a little wet behind the ears. He had a fire that needed to be stocked sometimes. Unlike Karite's who seemed to burn bright no matter. Kore wasn't giving up but it might take him a few moments to regain his footing. Kore couldn't give up if Karite was around. There was no way the boy would let him.

Karite was being pushed a lot harder than Maya had ever tried to push him. Self inflicted pain was something he tended to do well. As the water began to soak into his skin the boy found his body being weighed down. Trying his best not to fall but as he pushed he continued to fall. Now on his elbows the boy was pinned. After giving Kore such a speech you would think he would have lasted a little longer.

Kore found a footing soon after bringing himself back up off the ground. As he made his slow climb back to a full position he passed Karite who was going back down. This was going to be a rough morning with a easy night hopefully. The two were fighting for strength. They were fighting for a title and a chance to leave this island again. The world was waiting for them and staying here was not in their future plans. Growling at the boy Kore wanted him to know he was not alone. Kore would be by his side and would help him.

The boy was having a hard time getting back up. It was like his mind and body were working against each other. But he had to get back up. Yuki-Sensei was very clear that the test was this morning. He was not ready to face his peers as the alpha male. If he could not withstand a few minutes under a waterfall without being buried alive he had no right to even go to the test. He had to pull together or he was never going to be able to take care of the pride after Maya. He couldnt find the strength to get back up.

Kore was trying his best to fight against the falls but it was harder than he had first anticipated to move. The falls were proving to be stronger than he had ever thought they could be for a lion like himself. Not wanting to call it quick's the lion tried to get some sort of footing. Nothing however seemed to be open for his claws to dig into. If the two Tategami males did not found a way to pull themselves together they may miss the test they both had been working for since they came to the island.
