Shinichi brushed off some of the dirt on Dhan's shoulder with his free hand, not out of courtesy, but to confirm the dust was chakrafied. He rubbed the grainy mixture between two fingers, his mind immediately jumping to the only person who was in the right mind to cast such a jutsu. "You were fighting with Natamo again," he stated, looking around for the woman's body, but there were no traces of blood that would indicate she be dead. "Where is she? Is she dead?" he asked, though it was highly unlikely that Dhan could take down that fiesty girl. Natamo had more tricks up her sleeve than the murdering cannibal. Shinichi merely snorted when Dhan bragged about how easy it was to murder all those people. His mind was still calculating what had happened and there was no rush now that he had Dhan under his control. The Kage's lips upturned into a snarl as he shook the villain to get his attention. "I am not in a mood to be messed with, so give a straight answer or your manhood will be regretting it," Shinichi warned, the scent of mixed blood, both from Dhan's ever bloody body to the ailing villagers making his head light. He suddenly remembered that some of the villagers were still alive and sent a fireball hurling the long distance towards the clinic to get the nurses' attention where his voice would fail.

" Probably off frolicking with the animals. " He muttered. " I don't know I don't care" He chuckled, he was just asking for it now. He looked around at the few survivors. " They don't look so good... Maybe you should put them out of their misery. " He practically taunted, he could see this made Shinichi uncomfortable to be around. he started to laugh, the blood on his face trickling down to his body and onto Shinichi's arm. " Some leader you are, you can't protect your villagers or save them afterwards. From an attack that wasn't even meant for them. " He was just baiting Shinichi now, trying to set him off, why? Even he didn't know, something drove him to anger this man to the point of doing something he'd regret. "You're a soldier without a commander and you're trying to be that commander none the less! You're village is going to suffer because of you! You who have been sitting here while the village goes on without it's leader... HAH! you wanted this didn't you? You wanted this village. " Atleast that was how he saw it, they were similiar which was easily enough to see and he was sure that ambition was there, to control it all. Why else would anyone fight? Everyody wanted something and what else could the man second only to the previous Kage want? " Be careful what you wish for..." He whispered with that monstrous grin.

So she was alive. Was that a good thing or something he'd have to punish her for? After all, Natamo did leave a dozen people dying or dead! God damn it, were there no loyal soldiers left in this entire village? "Shut up!" Shinichi roared, cuffing Dhan roughly across the face, his fingernails slicing into the man's open wound, drawing even more blood. The man squeezed the cannibal's skull even harder with his left hand, digging in where it mattered with the tips of his fingers. Still, Dhan's words got to the Kage. He wouldn't finish the job and murder those poor villagers, but that didn't mean that he was at some fault for letting them perish. For one, he should have killed Dhan as soon as the Destroyer stepped onto the island. Instead, he had been fool enough to believe Shimagakure could tame the beast inside the monster, at least for a little while. In the end, it only turned out that once a beast was implanted into a man, it could only grow more vicious until the ogre matured and unleashed its reign of terror. Pathetic... He had been trying so hard to fill Ichi's shoes that Shinichi had forgotten just how deadly wrong the man could be at times. Mercy was for the stupid and Shinichi refused to be foolish. His line of work couldn't afford even the simplest mistake.

"I AM the Kage now and you're right, I did want this. Ichi was too trusting and I was just a puppy following his every flawed decision. Well, not anymore. I'm going to finally give this village what it really needs, what any shinobi enclave requires to survive!" The thoughts fired up Shinichi's nerve to the point where he was on the brink of breaking. The very idea that Dhan of all people, Dhan the one who committed the ultimate crime, could be so right about him jiggled the bolts in Shinichi's mechanical brain until something snapped into place. "War... fighting... violence... It's all so... so...," Shinichi whispered, the last words trailing off until a freakishly large smirk crawled up his face. "Beautiful." The Kage whipped up a stream of viciously whirling chakra, spinning so fast it almost ripped his hand into shreds. The chakra formed itself into a blade and Shinichi brought the roaring, rushing mass down below Dhan's chest, aiming just where it needed to be aimed in order to keep the man alive, yet wishing he were dead a thousand times over. Nobody taunted Shinichi and lived, especially someone who was DEAD WRONG. "You're wrong!" he shouted at the top of his lungs, a sadistic look in his eyes still lingering after his swift execution of the jutsu, "War drives people mad, to the point where their soul is so tarnished even the devil would spit it out. I would not wish an eternity of war upon anybody, not even my worst enemy. However, you'll still suffer plenty. And I will not let my home turn into the pathetic battlefield you call a country. Never."

Until they came onto the village area did Sorriz shut his mouth about how they could kicked the monster into specking back to him, he didn't have any real problem with reading or specking with others, but he was stilll thinking on battle and adventure for some reason. Just the thought that maybe he was doing right again was to...freeing and it had force hi to pull all that stress and anguish on another. Sorri silenced himself when Shinichi began to scream and he looked around him...blood and damaged villagers, and he watched Serena speed off as told and he nearly did the same but he looked backed at the villages and hid as he followed after Shinichi and watched his actions and punishment toward Dhan...There was someone more crazy then Shinichi then himself and all the sudden Shinichi seemed less insane. Sorri ran back in search of survivors, his hands became stained with less blood then his pants gained in this look for someone to help. He huffed a young female's arm over his shoulder and held another by her waist in his arms and sprinted to the clinic. Saving Mia and Lia. To serve the people

She was expecting maybe one or two victim from collateral damage so naturally the scene in front of her made the nurse nauseous just thinking of how cruel a man had to be to cause this much pain and suffering. As Kumiko approached the standoff in the center, she gasped just in time to see Shinichi deliver what was probably a finishing blow to Dhan. Kumiko lived in fear of Dhan just as the other villagers did, but even she was sickened and horrified by the casual violence Shinichi dished out on the other man, probably for killing all those people. Violence in any measure was harmful and should be avoided if at all possible. Their leader of all people should know that! Were there not more humane ways of dealing with a murderer? Kumiko held her breath to settle her nerves in the midst of the bloody scene. She caught sight of Sorri struggling to carry two young girls and rushed over to give aid. "Just put them down on this bench, Sorri," Kumiko said, her voice strained as she set to work removing the seemingly permanent icicle, then treating the blood that trickled out. "I need you to go ID the living and move the others out of harm's way. I have a feeling this fight will just get bloodier," Kumiko remarked coolly, though by no means anything like her screaming inner voice. She wiped away a drop of sweat that had formed on her brow. The victims will not survive too long out in this cold with their weakened bodies, but moving them without treatment first would only prove disastrous.

Sorri softly let the girls down onto the benches as instructed, then went on back to the destructed area and rand from shop to shop, market side to market side in search for survivors, he tripped and stumbled on the did that he hadn't noticed in his route, so many were already gone from this world, and with many others following behind them, the Yamanaka flower shop had some damage. Sorri check inside, no one had been harmed. He then heard a shout for his attention from a familiar voice, he turned and saw the waving arms of Udo, beckoning the genin for assistance for yet two more children. He explained they were competing about who could eat more ramen when the fighting broke out. The one with the black hair, Brassa, gained a gash across his chest that had already be bandaged by Udo, but the one that had took more damage, Sevvi, had lowly groaned, suffering from the pain that he felt in his shoulder, that he felt an icicle inside. Sorri held the boy by the waist and began to drag him over to Kumiko. On his way he felt a tug at his pants, which had been bloodied at the bottom, and looked down to see some old man who had been barely breathing. He requested that Sorri end it all for him now, for Sorri to stab his heart. The white eyes widened and Sorri, frightened, quickly shook his head no.

The man continued to speck, telling the boy how he had nothing to be watched over, and his family was safe from him and the heavy past he carried when he escaped to Shimakagure, and he'd rather die byt the hands of someone righteous then by a spike that rip through his stomach, caused by some crazed cannibal. He continued to pester until he saw Sorri tightly shut his eyes and grab at his kunia holster and spun one out, quickly grabbed it by the handle and thrusted down into his chest, into his heart. The man gave one last groan of anguish and Sorri's eyes were still shut tight, his right hand trembling as it did when he wanted to strike against Xyn and Maya. He held it there until the heart no longer moved, until he was sure that it had stopped. He turned away and opened his eyes, they locked on Kumiko and Sorri sprinted away with his arm still around Sevvi. He left the kunia in the victim, not having the courage to witness the what he had done, nor the smile of peace that man had on his face

Ryouta came running from the clinic through the village streets. He rounded corners and ran down alleys to reach where the fireball came from. What a strong force. But it seems like to have settled down a bit. Maybe I "won't" die... Ryouta laughed at that thought. Whoever Shinichi-sama was, he wasn't going to be too thrilled to see him. Then, as Ryouta finally rounded one more corner, the stench of blood filled his nostrils. "...Wha...What happened here?!" he said aloud as he surveyed the battle field that used to be the village. He saw Kumiko and many other people. Most dead, or bleeding. Ryouta stood on horror of the sight and nearly collapsed from everything. This entire scene looked just like the night when his family and friends were killed back on the plantation. Just then, Ryouta blacked out.

[I am ok...Just "too" much for my character to take all at once...You guys did a number on the town! Geeze!]

A beast seemed to take control of Shinichi's heart at the last moment as its tendrils reached out to snare what victory it could before being stomped out by reason. Instead of striking at the abdomen, Shinichi thrust the chakra sword through Dhan's chest at the last second. He was a heartless demon scrambling to destroy another creature's heart. Dhan's lifeless body hit the ground and Shinichi kicked the carcass to the side, then wiped his hands on the snow. Forest eyes glanced up and really took the carnage into view. He could see two girls being tended by Kumiko, with the dead scattered around them. The man heard movement to his left and sprinted towards an elderly couple, each with an icicle fatally through their chests, almost mirroring the blow he'd struck Dhan. The old man was hanging onto his last breath, painstakingly using what was left of his energy to tenderly wrap his arms around his wife. Shinichi respectfully knelt and aided the man, just seconds before he died. The ANBU wordlessly and expressionlessly left the two so the spirits can claim their soul to look for other survivors. He passed a woman whose skull had been pierced by an frozen needle and another whose body had flown into the trees. He left them alone, his mind too numb to do think of anything but his duty to rescue whomever was still alive.

A cry from someone he definitely didn't want to lose rang out from above, on a rooftop. Shinichi leaped the distance and saw Mai with her arm pinned to the wood. She didn't have long to live, certainly not long enough for him to fetch Kumiko. The Kage gritted his teeth, reeling from the thought that that b*****d could harm such a gentle woman, one who would never hesitate to take care of him. Taking the icicle in hand, he carefully extracted it and pressed a chunk of clean ice to Mai's wound to try and stop the bleeding. He jumped off the rooftop and set her down next to Kumiko, then left without even a second glance. In that manner, the man rescued Miko, Fay, and a handful of other villagers. One was a poor peasant boy who had just fainted from seeing all the bloodshed. Shinichi cradled him in his arms as he made his way to the temporary hospital."Will they all make it?" he asked Kumiko in a flat tone. Shinichi only nodded in reply to her affirmative answer. Setting the matted brown haired boy down on his cloak, he melted a hole in the snow and hurriedly built a fire to keep the wounded warm. When finished, he looked up to see one of his genin around, specifically when he had told him to stay away. Without a word, Shinichi worked on the fire, not meeting Sorri's eyes. There were a disproportionate number of wounded children, for they were the ones playing in the cold while most adults snuggled in warm blankets inside. It made him wonder just how much pain the ice man must have been in, for him to seek aid in such an unconventional manner.

The thought caused the Kage to glance again at Sorri, this time seeing something different. "Is everything alright?" he asked Sorri softly, glancing at Kumiko to see if he could do anything else. He didn't want to admit that he'd been paranoid, not trusting his genin enough when they were really needed. But had this been a real attack or had Dhan unleashed another wave of needles, he was obligated to keep his genin out of danger. The Kage met Sorri's eyes and with his own, urged him to tell the man what was on his mind. The teenager was trembling and not from the cold. He didn't seem perturbed by the wounded around him, rather his eyes had a far off look that told Shinichi he had something else on his mind.

Ryouta stood up and shook his head. "Whoa..." he said as his vision unblurred. Then, he saw the massacre that was the village. "Oh yea..." he said, "This 'mess' was caused by someone powerful alright..." Ryouta looked around and saw Kumiko. "Kumiko!" he yelled to her. "What happened here!?"

Ryouta ran up to her and stood by her side, waiting for a response. He also looked around the village and noticed some other figures. A taller, older man... A younger, shorter boy near the older man... And few people to the right... And a few people to the left... These people will know what happened here and where to find Shinichi-sama! he thought. But first, I'd better hear what Kumiko has to say.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 30, 2009 12:56 am

Kumiko shook her head at the man, her stoney eyes searching him for answers to this massacre. She watched as the last that could walk marched into the clinic while those that were too ill laid around, wrapped in the thickest blankets she could find. "Shhh," she hushed Ryouta, waving him towards her, "Dhan the Destroyer went berserk and shot a wave of ice needles around. If you want more information, you'll have to talk to Shinichi-sama. He's that red-headed guy over there, the one who just killed Dhan. It's your choice whether to talk to him or not, but you can see what he did to the Destroyer. I'd be careful if I were you." Kumiko muttered a curse under her breath as she pointed out Dhan's mangled body, laying undisturbed as the unharmed villagers set to tearfully putting the dead in body bags. A streak of rosy red blurred down Kumiko's cheek, for she too had shed a few tears for the dead. But, for the most part, she'd been too busy trying frantically to save those who were still hanging onto life; Luckily, she'd been wholly successful. Kumiko patted Ryouta on the head and gave him an exhausted smile. The choice was all his now. As for herself, she, being careful to distance herself from the crazed man, demanded, "Isao-san was killed by a kunai, right in his chest, and even I can see Dhan doesn't carry small weapons around. Was it you who killed him, Shinichi?" Although her voice was steady, the nurse's breathing became heavier and less even as she asked the question she didn't exactly want the answer to.

Sorri had tried to find a happy place inside himself, but he was so far gone into regret and insecurity that there didn't seem to be one . It was just blood, and more death the more he traveled mentally, He had kill a man, he was a murderer and no better then those they fought wars against, no better then Dhan. He watched at the innocent being taken care of by Kumiko, both those he and Shinichi tried to save, he had done well, but he didn't see it that way, a real ninja doesn't count the lives they save, they wouldn't....but the lives they lost..the lives they took. That was a number Sorri didn't want to build on, unless it had to be done for good but...he had already done something so horrible. The man was innocent and even if he requested to die, it shouldn't have been granted. what if he was crazy, and someone had been looking for him to survive on the island?!? Suddenly the kage urge for the attention of the young white haired island resident. Sorri came back, away from his own mental realm of darkness he was slowly creating and looked to his lower left...then o his lower right...he didn't want to die like Dhan, he thought he was serving the man. Sorri opened his mouth slightly to let Shinichi know what went down when Kumiko what had happened to this Isao person.

Right in his chest. His eyes went back into shock and he cringed, gripping at his right arm which began to tremble again. He looked at a mirror image of himself and began to tear up at the disappointment he felt coming from those white eyes, they belong a round person, and a nobody at the same time. Bringing himself together he looked down and dug his nails into his arm. And when he spoke, once he spoke his voice was low and shakey "...I did it..I killed him."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 01, 2009 7:13 pm

Shinichi looked at the boy incredulously, not believing his ears. In fact, he didn't believe either the boy or the nurse, at least not yet. The man left his cloak on the floor, the thick fabric of his winter kimono hugging his body as he rose to examine the body for himself. He left the boy hanging and uncovered the bag that contained Isao. After examining the man, he returned to Kumiko. "There was a gaping hole in Isao's stomach... I think you missed it because the cold stopped most of the bleeding and his body heat melted the icicle. Don't make that mistake again," Shinichi reprimanded. For a second, he really thought that Sorri had killed a man out of blood lust, due to the boy's over aggressiveness when they were fighting the ice titan. The man walked over to Sorri and sat in seiza on the snow next to the boy, watching the kid struggle with what he had done. Shinichi caught Sorri's hand as it sug into his arm and expressionlessly stared him right in the eyes. "Why are you blaming yourself for ending that man's misery?" Shinichi asked, his voice gentle and urging the boy to reconsider his position. There seemed to be a lot of that lately among the genin. First, Maya and now the newly ranked Sorri. The fact made him wonder whether he created an atmosphere of low self-esteem among the children. Shinichi released Sorri's arm from his hard grip and ruffled the boy's hair, giving him a small smile, "I'm proud of you. I didn't think you had the courage to do your duty, but you did it well. Our job as shinobi often means doing things we really don't want to do, things that seem wrong on all levels but end up helping people. You have to think using reason, not your emotions, and today you did just that."

Tanu was walking through the village kicking a rock through the snowy dirt ahead of her. 'Frozen wasteland...' she thought to herself, mumbling and displeased with where she was. 'I came here to study with Kana and Kazu, but both of them are gone!' she thought angrily to herself. Giving the rock one last good kick, she sent it skidding quickly across the ground. Grunting and sitting down on a crate, Tanu brooded, thinking of what she could do...

Sorri allowed Shinichi to move his arm and even ruffle his hair. Shinichi wasn't disappointed? Sorri thought he had done a bad thing..a horrible thing. But he had supposedly ended misery, he had brought the man peace?...He had been dieing anyway?! That made sense, a weight had been lifted been lifted off the little boy's shoulders. His eyes softened and he closed then while taking a deep breath and exhaling. His breath was a little shaky. He looked over at the smiling Shinichi, when those first four words were spoken a small smile came up....even in this shroud of sadness something that would seem insignificant to another was so much to Sorri. He listened to the words that were continued to be set before him. The genin nodded and turned away. He would try and help Serena if there was still time to.

(Anzka, would you mind shadowing Sorri for the time being, absence)

[No problem.]

Like children, they were so easy to take a compliment and forget the horrors of the world around them, Shinichi thought cynically. They were still young, nonetheless, so why not let them have their fantasies while those were still reality? Because, they were shinobi and their class of people endured the worst hardship willingly, all for the satisfaction of living to do it all over again. Shinichi tilted his head at Sorri and then watched as the last survivor was carried away to the clinic. Everything had been taken care of and Kumiko quickly assured him that every one of them would survive. He would still make a trip later that evening to check them out, but for now, Shinichi forced himself to assume some measure of relaxation. He turned to Sorri and made a motion towards the Library. "Serena's waiting for you. She's probably done with the research by now no thanks to you," he coldly said, turning away just as quickly. The Kage shuffled through his list of things to do and decided that finding Natamo should rank at the top of his priorities while he was still in a mood for vengeance. Luckily for the man, that mood was pretty much everlasting. Shinichi tramped over to Dhan's body and took one last look at the manged remain of what had caused him so much apprehension. A year ago, he would have strung up his body as an example for any troublemaker, but compared to today, he had had virtually no responsibilities to the people's mental well-being. Instead, Shinichi slung the man's body over his shoulders, intending to dump the madman in the sea, and started walking in that direction. On the way, he bumped (not literally) into someone he hadn't seen for a while. A scowl immediately lit up on Shinichi's stern face, an expression complemented by the dead body he was lugging around. "You've missed yesterday's class, young lady," he said, reprimanding Tanu at the same time, "I don't think today's class is finished either. You better give me a good reason for your absence, right now." Shinichi adjusted the slipping Dhan as he waited for her response. It just occurred to him that the child might be frightened by the sight of a dead body, but hey, wasn't she a growing shinobi, though a lazy vagrant too?
