Not being one to like such arguments to go on, Kumiko slammed her hand down on the desk as Tanu and Orika began a small feud. "We are not brawly men and you will not act like in this classroom as long as I am standing up here! Fighting a problem head on in such ways is not very ladylike. You go about it secretively with hidden meanings to your words," Kumiko said, shedding just a little light on the female world to these barbaric teens. "Now, cosmetics are things that make you smell good, enhance your natural beauty and make overall more attractive. Make-up, such as powders and creams, are like paint to an artist," Kumiko explained as she picked up a small case that had been sitting behind the desk and opened it up on the table.

"Have fun in class," Tenko called out after Karite as he took his leave to go with the boys. She had walked into the classroom just as Kumiko was busting out the make-up. "Oh, we're starting now?" Tenko said with a bit of excitement as she clapped together her stubby little hands gaily. "Everyone's here now, correct?" Tenko asked as she went over to the clipboard and began marking down names; Akiko, Orika, Tanu, Hanabira and Serena. "Hm... We seem to be missing one," Tenko said, knowing that there was suppose to be an even number of girls in the academy.

"Don't worry about it Tenko," Kumiko said, just a little annoyed with the woman. She passed out a small make-up kit to each girl before taking the head position at the classroom once again. "The item you first want to begin with is washing up your face," Kumiko said, making another trip around the classroom with a warm washcloth. "Pull back your hair and clean up your face. Then apply the base, which is the tanned color cream. You want to try and match your skin color as closely as possible," Kumiko said to the girls.

"Oh, yes! And make sure you smooth it out evenly on your face," Tenko said to the girls, adding in some advice as well. "You want to rub it in, so everything looks light and smooth!" the woman said with a bright smile, excited to see all the little kunoichi get dressed up.

Serena waved at Orika and smiled, still a little run out from sprinting all the way, so she couldn't talk. She felt a lot better after Tenko and Kumiko began talking, though. Actually, she had a really happy look on her face after hearing that they were going to learn about makeup. It didn't strike her to ever wear some, especially as a ninja. The Raiken rose from her seat and began pulling her hair up, as instructed, and took the washcloth placed before her. This is gonna be fun, right, Hanabira?" She said to her fellow classmate as she cleansed her face.

Akiko’s attention was drawn from the board as the teacher began to speak, she didn’t catch much of what she said. She heard something about makeup then she noticed the woman pulling out at small case. Putting on makeup seemed easy enough but the young girl knew it probably would be difficult; not to mention this would be her first time wearing it.

The new women that walked in briefly captured the Ibazi’s attention; the lady seemed excited about this. “The item you want to begin with is washing up your face” The words recaptured the girl’s attention as she was handed a washcloth.

Glancing around the room Akiko was searching for something to bind her long white hair. “I may have string in one of my pockets...” She remembered as she unbuttoned her trench and searched through some of her many pockets on the inside of long thick coat. Once the object of her search was found she used it to restrain her tamed hair in a high ponytail. The eleven year old began to eye the makeup kit as she cleaned her face, she began to wonder how this would turn out.

Serena made sure the entire area of her face was completely cleaned, and then she set the towel down. Now she had to dry her face. She reached for a dry cloth and rubbing each cheek, making sure each one was dry to apply foundation. She looked at the makeup laid out on the tables and wondered which one she was to start with. 'Hmm..I think the teacher said to use the creamy stuff? This foundation?" She picked up what looked like a peachy cream stuff in a container and took the sponge. "So I use the sponge?" She asked herself. Taking the sponge, she rubbed it into the cream, and then placed it on her arm to check the color...it seemed to be the right one..but maybe she should try a different one to make sure?

Hanabira managed a small smile when Kiba walked by. She hadn't been quick enough to raise her hand and return a wave though. As all the boys left the academy, she watched the rest of the girls arrive. Hanabira had never been in a class with Tanu or Orika, so she was somewhat excited for the class to start. She remained in her seat like a good student while Kumiko explained what they were doing for the day. Hanabira had learned a little about dressing up and make up when she had performed the dance for the village during her first year in Shimagakure. She had done that dance with Serena too. Hanabira's body got a little tense when she heard Tanu and Orika exchange words. She didn't like contraversy or disputes among comrades. Hanabira was glad when Kumiko immediately silenced the two girls and began the lesson. Picking up the make-up kit, Hanabira began to examine it. The colors were pretty and all natural.

"Mm," Hanabira gave a nod to Serena's question. "This will be fun," the girl said, happy that today wouldn't be filled with lots of training. The freckled face girl always cringed when the day would be spent outside doing physical work. Hanabira preferred this type of class over sparring in the sand. Taking the warm washcloth, Hanabira removed her glasses and then cleansed her face.

The soft of the washcloth rubbed against her face, washing away the morning oils and lit bit of dirt that had fallen on her skin from the walk to the academy. It felt very nice against her face and she was sad to bring it down once she knew her face was clean. "Oh, that's a good idea, Serena-chan," Hanabira said, as her olive eyes caught the girl dabbing the shades of skin color on her arm to make sure she had the correct one. Taking the small sponged, Hanabira also dabbed it in the cream and then lightly put it on the ball of her wrist. Once she saw that the second palest shade matched her skin, Hanabira smiled. She looked over to Serena and nodded. "That one looks good. I think I found mine," she said with a small smile on her lips.

Huh? Oh, thanks, Hana-san." She replied while continuing to rub a third shade onto her arm. She then lifted her arm up and compared each color. 'I think this one should be the right one..' she thought to herself, while pointing at the final circle. Then she pulled the foundation she needed towards her and rubbed the samples on her arm away. She opened the cream container again and picked up a sponge, then looked at Hanabira's progress. "I think that shade matches your skin very well. It took me three tries to find my shade!" She smiled and began rubbing the sponge into the cream.

Feeling satisfied with her freshly cleaned face Akiko folded her towel and set it to the side, she knew she would probably need it again later on. The next step would be figuring out this base stuff, it seemed simple enough…maybe. The clam girl found herself choosing a random base color that seemed like it was close to her skin color, but looking at her hand were the random spot rested she could tell it was off…by a lot; she was hoping to find a bronzed caramel but instead found a weird sandy color. The Ibazi didn’t let it get to her though, it was her first try after all, she just shrugged it off. “Things are rarely what they appear, but this is why we have test spots.” Akiko mumbled to herself as she reached for the neglected towel and removed the glaring spot.

Walking into the classroom, Naoki blinked in confusion. Where were the boys? And who were most of these girls? Other than Maya and Kei, she hadn't been dealing with any of the others of her own gender. That, combined with the fact she really wasn't feeling well, made her crippling shyness reappear. That, and she didn't know what they were doing. She glanced up at the board and saw what was written there, but that didn't clear up her confusion. However, the senseis were also two people she hadn't met yet, making her reluctant to ask. Oh dear... she thought in distress. What am I suppose to do?

"Oh! Joy!" Tenko said, clapping her hands together as another girl came in. "You must be Naoki, the Kage's niece," Tenko said warmly as the last name on the roster of students came into the classroom. The woman was just overjoyed that everyone had come! Grabbing the last make-up pack, she ushered Naoki to a seat near Akiko. "Now that we have even numbers we can do the exercise properly," Tenko said happily. "We're learning how to apply cosmetics today," the blond nurse explained to Naoki who had come in a little late. Tenko gave the girl a warm washcloth to clean her face before applying the foundation cream.

"Now! Once you get your foundation smoothed out and applied evenly to your face. Take a partner and apply the eye make-up," Kumiko continued as she brought up a small brush that was in their packs. "Blend in the powder of natural colors and then accent it with a bold color that will accent the eyes. Remember not to apply too much to your partner's face," Kumiko warned them. "Serena and Hanabira... Akiko and Naoki... Orika and Tanu," Kumiko said, holding back a smile as she listed off the last pair. "Once the eyes are complete, you will outline the lips and then add black mascara to the eyelashes of your partner," Kumiko said, explaining the rest of the exercise.

Note: Make sure you are at 2/5 before working with your partner.

Tanu couldn't believe the words coming out of this girl's mouth. She had made the mistake of mistaking a shinobi for a farmer once before, but this one just screamed farm girl. Tanu didn't know what to say back since she had never been talked back to like THAT before. She was a little intimidated to see that someone had just as big as a mouth as hers. Then the girl mentioned Shisei... His name to Tanu was Bakemono-suke. That little monster that she had knocked out during a lousy training exercise the other day. He was so pathetic. He had no backings to his words! What was this ridiculous girl talking about? Tanu couldn't think of anything to say back and before she could try to mumble some horrible thing back, the teacher was already shouting at them to be quiet and pay attention to what she had to say. Tanu wasn't going to let this slide! That little punk farm girl would be getting it after school today. Tanu just had to shake off this slight feeling of intimidation she had just stamped on her forehead. Propping her head up with her arm, Tanu half heartedly listened to what Kumiko and Tenko were saying. She'd rather be practicing sparing or training with the Kunai rather than this! Tanu would never take on a mission that required her to do such a spineless thing like wear make-up and go under cover. She bet that Dhan, the man she had met at th shoreline, had never done such a thing. Tanu bet that he was a fearless murderer that never asked questions and just slew his enemies with that large jagged sword of his. Just thinking about the man and what he could teach Tanu made her excited! It didn't seem like he had any sort of code or high honor about him. He was tough and lacked discipline. Even though Tanu respected her clan's teachings and honor system, she couldn't help but yearn to see what Tomoko and Dhan's clan was like...

Naoki smiled shyly in thanks at the teacher's greetings and instructions, though it was odd to think of herself as the Kage's niece. But if that is how they saw it... Lowering her hood and rearranging her locket so she could use the ribbon to tie her hair back, her mind puzzled over why this was important. Maybe she just didn't see it. It wouldn't be the first time. Instead, she turned her attention to the instructions. Carefully, she used the warm wash cloth given to her to clean her face. She usually cleaned it when she first woke up, but this morning had been so crazy, it slipped her mind. It helped finish waking her up, and made her feel a little better.

Looking at the different creams, Naoki nibbled on her lower lip in thought. She knew she was... well, exceptionally pale. More so than usually, because she wasn't feeling well. She sighed and rolled up her sleeve. Best to start at the palest and work my way up... she figured skeptically. Using the skin of her arm, she tried the lightest tones available and gingerly applied it lightly to her skin. Naoki blinked, shocked with her luck. The cream almost completely blended with her skin, a hair's breath darker; it was doubtful she would get any closer. With obvious delicacy, she began to apply it to her face. It was such an odd sensation... She blended it as best as she could, hoping she was doing it right. In all her years, she had never seen anyone actually apply make-up. Hopefully she wouldn't make herself look too ridiculous...

Once she had finished blending the cream in, she looked to the girl the other teacher had said she was to work with. It seemed she was having more difficulty with finding the right shade. To help, or not to help? Naoki thought worriedly. After all, the other girl may not appreciate her aid... Deciding that it would hopefully make things less awkwark later, the slightly taller girl pointed to one of the medium toned creams. "P-perhaps this one?" she suggested quietly, unable to help the slight stutter.

(+1 to Akiko's next roll [I hope I did this right...])

"Third time's a charm," the freckled face girl said quietly as she tilted her head with a very faint smile on her face. As Hanabira smoothed out the cream on her face, she wished for a mirror to check and see if she had missed any spots on her face. The natural urge to place her hand upon her skin to feel how smooth it was called out to her, but she kept her hands on her desk as she turned to Serena. "Does it look ok?" she asked, hoping that she hadn't missed a spot. After asking Serena to double check her foundation, Kumiko was already continuing the class. The short haired girl couldn't be more than happy to hear that she was paired with Serena. However, she did feel a little nervous about Kumiko pairing up Orika and Tanu... She felt that was a mistake, but wouldn't interfere with the teacher's decision.

Turning in her seat, so that she better faced Serena, Hanabira put her glasses on for a moment in order to study Serena's eyes. They were a beautiful and unique color with a mix of grey's and browns that brought out an eye color Hanabira had never witnessed before. Thinking that grey was a bit drab, Hanabira thought of the perfect combination of colors. "How about... browns with an accent of gold? I think that would bring out the brown tone to your eyes..." Hanabira said, a bit unsure of herself. She had never taken an art class before, so she wasn't sure if her opinion had hit the spot or not.

Glaring at the make-up lying on the top of her desk, Tanu gave it a disgusted look. Why should she dress herself up like a doll and paint her face to make herself look pretty? She wasn't ever going to use these skills to her benefit, because there was nothing in this lesson that would benefit her! "This is stupid," Tanu said in a placid tone as she rose up from her desk. Here is where she would leave again. Tanu had ditched more classes than attended so far in the academy. That number of ditching was just about to rise again, especially when Kumiko named off the farm girl as her partner. The sensei was just trying to spite her now! Its as if she was pairing them up to put them through some type of torture. Tanu would never work side by side with such a loud mouthed and ignorant person. Shisei puts substance behind his words? Get real. He had been talking himself up all day yesterday while training and all to come down to an easy defeat. He had only hit Tanu once! They were all spineless, ignorant fools that lived in this prettied up dreamworld. As she began walking away from her seat, Tanu remembered something that the bakemono commented on. 'I thought you were a boy.' That probably wasn't his exact words, but Tanu had remember how he called her a boy and even gave her the suffix of '-kun'. She didn't want to let that little monster win and get away with calling her a boy for the rest of the academy. If she defeated the one insult he had on her, then he would have nothing to return her insults with! A mischeivious smile spread across Tanu's face as she turned around and sat back down in her seat. No one would be able to begin to ponder what she had thought up in her mind that changed her decision to staying. Opening up the make-up pack, Tanu began just as the other girls did; picking out their skin tone.
