Kore rolled over instantly as Maya entered. The young cub was a little disoriented but was now in a more familiar place. Waking up to the smell of Baki and Maya was much better then the bright white light and alcohol from before. Standing the young cub walked around Baki and his sister to Maya. Laying down the young cub curled up against her. One big happy family the Tategami pride was. While the young cub knew once he was healed he would be punished servilely by Baki that could wait. For now the cub would sleep easy. It sounded like Karite was already beginning his punishment outside. The way things were sounding on the grounds it had been a war zone since the boy had showed up.

Karite felt an intense load on him and knowing Orika was in no condition to carry the load with him he used the strength he had to roll the log before it caused any damage to her. Turning around the boys usually sincere dead eyes showed a fire like no other. He was really pissed now. He no longer saw Shisei, but now he saw Rikau. The biggest bully he ever met and that was someone he wanted to tango with his entire life. Cracking his knuckles he walked towards the boy. "You my cocky little friend are going to regret that because Maya's not here to stop me. I am going to break your jaw so you can talk, then I am going to break your legs so you cant walk. After I am done with that I am going to break everyone of your fingers one by one by one so the next time you get to perform a jutsu you'll think of me." Raising a hand Karite went in for a solid punch to the boys temple.

"Aaah!" Orika shrieked as the log shook and threatened to crush her like an insect. She closed her eyes and waited for the impact, but luckily heard Karite knocking the log away just before it hit her. "Thanks," she muttered, ready to beat the living daylights out of Shisei. Orika threw a punch directly for Shisei's solar plexus with a bloodthirsty roar. "Nobody likes you and nobody needs your arrogance! I don't see why we have to put up with you!" Gawd, if she only had a club, she'd beat the living daylights out of this ego-infested, bad-mouthed snake. "Yo, Karite!" Orika shouted over the sound of Shisei hopefully writing on the floor in pain, "I'm heading to the weapons shop tonight, with or without Maya. Wanna come with?" She leaned into her punch, hoping for more impact. Scum like him deserved nothing but the best beating and she and Karite would deliver them hard on. However, Shisei's claim that she was the weakest member in their squad perturbed her. S-she just didn't get a chance to test out her true strength, yet! All they've been doing is a lot of taijutsu fighting and that wasn't her calling. What use was punches when they could just use weapons for more impact? And besides, it was stupid to take Shisei on when she was injured!

The Orochi born turns his back. “Figures… you can’t…” his words are cut short as he can hear the footsteps creeping up behind him. The boy doesn’t turn fully around as he can hear Karite make his threats while he approached. The serpent child could have just sensed it. He could imagine just where a fist was flying. The sly serpent easily pivoted turned and just moved his head slightly as one eye gazed at the fist passing a few inches away from his face. Gold orbs locked with silver moons as Shisei gabbed the boy’s arm at the elbow. His eyes did not move away from the older male’s own. “Hmm you’re going to do all that to me with your organs just barely hanging inside your body. I wonder who the cocky one is here.”
What the serpent youth was planning to do was not destroy his elbow like he would initially do, but to use his nails and tear away all the stitching the nurses had worked so hard to keep the reaper among the living. His eyes did not pay attention to the other person of this group. The farm girls attack came from behind Karite’s larger body so he could not perceive her coming. All the Orochi youth saw was another fist coming from the left side of Karite. The boy had wondered if the reaper had somehow grown an extra arm. There was no time to dodge and the move hit him directly in the stomach. The blow made the orochi youth back away from the two as he held his stomach, but managed to stay in a vertical stance. His eyes glared up at the form behind the lion tamer. “Ohh of course. It would be you, Orika to cause the damage. After all that is the only way you could score a hit on either Karite or I. You could never do it on your own.” Despite the girl’s crippled form she could still punch if given the right situation. I can see why Maya prefers to work alone. The snake child stroked back his dreads, allowing his mind cool down from the blow, although his serpent orbs remained as two slits instead of ellipticals. His mind was considering whether to really cripple one of them or just allow this transgression to slip by and finish the training. Then perhaps when their asleep to get his revenge. Which one would be more gratifying… Shisei contemplated while keeping an eye on the two. The gold eyes then squinted at the two. Shisei's vision was becoming blurry. The snake child could not understand why, yet he could feel tiny traces of sweat forming on his head. Where was this dizzying feeling coming from and why is it that the youth felt his mouth and throat becoming dry. "Could this girl really have..." he began to think. No. That would be impossible! Even that vile imp with the cannon ball couldn't in one move. The Orochi youth turned around and began walking away. He always felt better when in motion, when his brain could compute the exact happenings. Yet the snake child did not make it past three steps before his skull collided with the snow. Even unknown to Shisei's mind was the fact that the blow had done more damage than he could have imagined. No one could have imagined such a blow from a girl on crutches, yet the facts remained certain and the truth was before everyone's eyes. Except Shisei whose eyes were closed to the truth.

Maya heard the commotion, but didn't have the heart to do anything about it. Instead, she nudged Baki, who would be able to handle all three of them - even if he had to incapacitate them himself. Maya was lost in her thoughts. What right, then, had she to direct these three? The only teamwork she knew was between her and Baki, and even so...wait...dammit, they were breaking her rules, and Orika wanted to leave the camp without permission...already!? Was she that horrid!? ....
Except that last thought didn't even occur to the girl as she moved from Kore's side and outside, the anger and fury in her eyes clear.
"You expect to be better than each other, when you're all nothing! You hurt each other constantly - and none of you thinks of the others! No one of you is worse than the other, because you're all inconsiderate and cruel!" Maya, like Karite, didn't see the three of them. She saw Kana, Kana, and Kana - the bane of her childhood, the bane of her existance. The Kun'Kumo clan had overrun the grounds, and the wildness in her eyes was easy to read:
Someone was going to get hurt.
With her tekagi strapped almost instantly to her hands, she lunged and landed in a crouch before them, gritting her teeth angrily and pointing her tekagi at Orika, then the rest of them. "Plans for tonight, Orika? My grounds aren't good enough? Go, then, all of you - who else is going to want you around? Trouble makers, almost killing each other. Always fighting, thinking the one is better than the other. Go on, then - how far can you get before I catch you and carve my name into your skin, hm?" Maya knew she was letting the feral woman of her dreams speak ... she knew she was starting to sound blood thirsty, but nothing got through to these brats...maybe fear would.
Blocking for Shisei against Karite 13 + Sprint [10] -> 23 10 + Melee [26] + Str [12] -> 48 DC: 17 [for both] [[ Block successful; Karite must roll a dodge ]]
Baki followed immediately after the girl, biting her hand and drawing blood easily. Even so, Maya didn't seem to notice, and the lion snarled, trying to pull her back. Maya shrugged the lion off and Baki, agitated now because of his partner's response and lack thereof, turned on the three academy students as well, snarling. His stance screamed attack, though he kept himself controlled...for now. The bickering that these insects were doing bothered Maya, so in turn, it bothered him. How would Kore ever heal correctly if all he knew was that outside there was always fighting? A cub had to play before he fought - even one as serious as Kore. He would have his own punishment from Baki, but he would be healthy before that happened.

Karite looked on as the boy dodged him again. It was beginning to piss him off the boy always seemed three steps ahead no matter the situation, but when Orika landed a good blow Karite almost winced. That sounded like it hurt from where he stood. Waiting for the boys retaliation Maya appeared from no where. She began to rant off with her claws looking rather sharp off the snows reflection. "How do you expect us to get along! A farm girl who has grown up around shinobi her whole life. A snake that could care less if the world burns itself to death causes he think he is better than everyone else, and a noble from the wave country who has never even heard of a shinobi till a few weeks ago! I don't see how this is suppose to ever work out." Karite was furious now, it seemed that Maya couldn't see the problem with this and he just didn't feel like dealing with it. "We are not a pride Maya, we cant get along as Kore and Baki and yourself. We are human beings who have different views and personalities. Animals have instincts they rely heavily on. While we as humans rely on pure emotion and raw adrenaline most the time. If you know a better way for us to get along I would love to hear it because right now I am not seeing it as a human possibility." Turning his eyes back on Shisei, "Look here snake. I don't know what happened in your past to make you like this but give it a damn rest. If you ever do anything you just did I will not rest until I skin your hide myself."

Maya straightened herself out, glaring at the three of them.
"You are all the same to me. Useless and spineless. You have more in common than you think. You're human - I don't care what color your hair is, or your eyes, or who gave birth to you. I don't care if you can't swim, or if you were born rich, or if you grew up in rags. I don't care who you were before you came here - when you leave, you leave a team. Or you leave dead - I can throw your body into the ocean if you'd like." Maya stood before Karite, lifting her tekagi and touching his cheek with it, controlled but still cutting the flesh. She carved slowly, snarling at him. "Karite, it begins now. Show me you have what it takes to be my clan mate, or die trying - Kore will not leave with you unless you're worthy of it." Maya pulled her hand away from Karite, and shook her head. "Wanna know what you have in common? Hm? You're all stuck here til you learn how to work together. So deal with it, or you won't be graduating academy at all." Maya seethed, glaring at them all, seriously ready to rip all their heads off. She had unwittingly carved the Tategami symbol for 'partner' on Karite's face...

No one even noticed her, not even Maya as she lunged to block Karite's hit. Was she that insignificant, so little and weak that she couldn't even take on Shisei by herself? The girl put in all her anger and hurt into that blow that knocked Shisei back and caused her to lurch forwards from the power. Orika gasped as she glared at Shisei's unmoving figure. She had no regrets. That'll show everyone who had the real power in this group! "You were the idiot that didn't pay attention to your surroundings," she whispered, her head suddenly so clear now that she'd taken out her rage on the raucous snake, "Don't blame me." Orika would have kicked the serpent if her legs wouldn't break off when she did. Instead, she flopped on her butt and sat back, suddenly exhausted. There was nothing left to do but pay attention to what Maya and Karite were saying. If the former decided to kill her, now would be the best time to die, so relieved was she from taking Shisei down. Well, she can't exact outrun Maya, even on a good day, so it was time to be a man and take her punishment proudly. Karite was giving a sermon on how they couldn't get along and Orika couldn't help but add in her two yen after some thought. "I don't think he'll be bothering us again," she said to herself, then louder as she addressed Karite and Maya. "Oh, shut up, Karite," Orika said, ticked herself at the boy's pessimistic words. She took a deep breath to calm herself, then tried again, "I mean, I don't think you're right. We're so different, you're right about that, but that means that we can support each other's weaknesses instead of exploiting them. Not just physically either. Maya's got experience and leadership, I've got the brains, and Karite has a lot of willpower. I really don't want to fight with either you or Maya, but we're always sniping at each other, so you guys kinda force a confrontation. I don't see why we can't stop relying on our emotions ans use our heads. It'll be easier now that Shisei's out anyway... Right?"

"Wrong, Orika. Shisei is part of Shimagakure too. You might have grown up here, but he chose to come. He is part of the village - you're all part of it. Shisei's smarter than you give him credit for - he's sly. Karite and Orika, you're both brutes, but I bet if you ever had the guts to team up with each other, there's no one around that could outwit you. But no - you can't even do that." Maya snorted and rolled her eyes. She nudged Orika's leg with her tekagi, and snickered. "Wanna fight with a busted leg? Take me on, then. Both of you, since you like fighting the same target so much. Come on, then - gimme your best shot."

"Um... Maya, I think it might be too late to team up with Shisei..." Orika said slowly, poking the still boy with her crutch. Was he dead? Did she care? She turned her head with a grimace as Maya talked about facing her. "I'm human so my life does matter to some extent. I refuse to fight my sempai. Do what you want," Orika said through gritted teeth. After all the bloodshed, she wasn't really in the mood to fight fruitlessly against an older shinobi. "You misjudge me, Maya. I don't fight for no reason. Shisei deserved what I gave him, hands down." If by some miracle Shisei did survive and she was forced to confront him again, how would that turn out? Orika curled up on her fur by the fire, not really looking anyone in the eye. She was tougher than them. Just didn't get the credit she deserved. The girl glared with her evil eyes at the dead boy, wondering if Maya would force her to bury the kid. What would Shinichi say when he found out? Heh, she was dead. A tingle of fear crept up her spine, but Orika shook it off. She did them a favor killing off Shisei and it was nothing to regret. He had nothing to give to the village, but his smarts, and he used those only to torment others. Like she used her strength to hurt him... Why was she suddenly feeling like she missed that evil child? Orika whimpered and shook her head furiously to get the thoughts out.

"Did Kore deserve what you gave him as well, Orika?" Maya said softly, narrowing her eyes. Shaking her head, Maya picked up Shisei and carried him to her tent, but not before turning towards the other two. "Neither of you has the right to decide who lives and dies - both of you will give me 10 push ups, or you'll sleep in the snow tonight." Maya settled Shisei in her tent and worked over his body, soothing the muscles around his solar plexus, where Orika had hit, and trying to figure out how severe this was. Did she need Tenko? Baki sat outside, watching the two, so she would know if they tried to run...

Orika gritted her teeth, sullen that Maya would bring up Kore. "No," she whimpered, "But when do we get that right? When we're as strong as you? Or do we have to go right to persuading Shinichi that Shisei's a threat?" But Maya had already left to take care of the vermin no one wanted alive. That's all it was. She knew everyone really hated the boy so much that they secretly wanted him gone. But nobody had the courage to kill him, those cowards. Orika looked disdainfully at the fur on which she was supposed to do her push ups, then at her busted leg... legs. Okay, as if push ups weren't hard enough! She groaned and forced herself into position, wondering how she'd manage. The farm girl lowered herself into the standard position, but as soon as her feet hit the ground, a jolt of pain ruptured through her nerves and Orika had to roll to her side, curled in a ball. She remained on her side, going back to reflect on the situation at hand. Orika was positive Maya would have done the same thing had someone insulted her so severely. And she knew shinobi have killed for less, sometimes a random emissary for as little as a bowl of rice when the times were slow. She was protecting people from Shisei's cruelty... How was that not noble, even if achieved by a violent mean?
