"When haven't I?" Sirius inquired, choosing not to respond to Moony's flagged eyebrow. He made a small noise in this throat, and shrugged.

I wonder where the trolley is....Lily thought as her stomach rumbled. I know I should've packed a sandwhich! Lily left her compartment to go look for the trolley

Remus was about to reply smartly before looking out the compartment window, and seeing a familiar head of red hair. "Lily, how was your holiday?" he asked. He liked Lily, they got along very well in his first year when he had no friends.

James turned his head so fast his neck cracked. There she stood, that fiery goddess that dominated all of his daydreams. He tried of to think up something romantic to say but all that came out was...
"It was awful! I mean, how could it be good? I wasn't there!"

She told the lady at the trolley that she would like a chocolate frog and paid her the right amount. Then she turned to Remus and said I was quite fun actually, and I'm glad you weren't there James. You would have just made everything more difficult. There, that should show him... I don't need him around to have a good time, do I?

It's all in good fun, Sirius reminded himself as the lady of his best friend's mind once again put him down. He had to remember this everytime she said something mean because - every once in a while - James would feel down about it.
"You're not going to get far in the way of the women if that is your idea of romance, Prongie," Sirius snarked, trying to keep the tone of the conversation light.

Mar wrinkled her eyebrows at James's behavior. "You, James. You are not being so smart with the gerls, are you not?" she asked wryly.

James went bright red. "Look who's talking Sirius, remind me, what's the longest relationship you've had? A week?" he didn't mean to sound like a b*****d but....He turned to Marketa and said"Sure I am, Evans is just in denial."

"Well, I am not actively pursuing a romantic relationship with one particular girl," Sirius lied, breaking eye contact with everyone in the compartment and looking out the window. The next part was the truth, however:
"I'm more of a free spirit... ya know?"

Lily started to walk back to her compartment but then she heard James say something about her being in denial. She turned back around and said So, just because I'm not in love with the 'most popular' guy in school, I'm in denial? Anyway, how was your summer Remus? She decided she didn't want to fight, she just didn't want him to be a jerk either.

Plays with her tie a little bit. "Why do girls have to wear them? They are choking me." Gags a little. Looses the tie and sighs. Watches Amara as she struggles to put her tie on. Laughs at her playfully. "Let me help you." Gets up and ties it correctly. "If it wasn't for me, you would be lost." Chuckles and sits back down.

Remus brought an easy smile to his face for Lily. "My summer was fine, as far as holidays go," he said with a shrug. He really hadn't done much, so there wasn't much to say. He had Lily really had grown apart, hadn't they?

"Aren't you interested in my summer, Lilywinks?" Sirius pleaded with funny puppy dog eyes. He was never quite sure when Lily was going to blow up at him, but, for the most part, he knew that she was an amazing and brilliant girl.

"No one's interested in your summer, Padfoot. Why are you even here? No one loves you," Remus said in such a sarcastic monotone no one could take him seriously. Except someone did.
"Well, dat was mean! Sirius is loved by people, yeah?" Mar said. Even though she didn't sound like it, she was just messing around too.
