He began to slice one half of the lettuce into the strips for the sushi. He was finished with the first half by time Andou got back to the spot he was originally in.
"My mom?" he said a little surprised. "Well she just cooks and cleans," he said hoping Andou didn't expect her to have a better job. She wasn't a ninja like himself. She for-went that to become a house wife and her father wouldn't allow for his only daughter to become a soldier of war. "Me on the other hand I think I want to be a medic for the most part," he explained. It was something he thought about a long time ago. He wanted to make sure his friends lived while on missions.
"Aside from that I would also like to become the Mizukage and revolutionize this place," he said with a smirk. He figured that if he became Mizukage he could change the state of Kirigakure.

Tenshi felt pretty good after Gwyn was in a good mood. Does she always have this side, or she just excited for the food? Gwyn sometimes came across as the grump, but he liked this side of her more. Not to mention she worked better in a good mood. He nodded his head to her, "Alright!" The food was almost done. It looked like he had one carrot to go, and then they could mix the snow crab up and then the sushi should be done. Unless Andou had something else up his sleeve. Tenshi wouldn't put it past Andou put test in before eating. I mean... he was a teacher and even though it was lunch time they were in his home, but Tenshi didn't want to think of that. No, he would much rather think about food. "Umm... sir... we don't need anymore lettuce. We should be fine with what we have. Sorry we kind of took over your work," Tenshi said apologetically, although he was glad it was done quicker so that they could eat.

Hmm, the way Gennosuke had talked made it seem like his work with his mother had been something more. "A medic?" he echoed. "I was just talking with a genin who seemed to be heading up that path as well. Maybe you two could learn a lot from each other. You know that medics have a lot of responsibility. You have to save others, but first you have to save yourself."
A smirk found its way to his face as Gennosuke talked about being Mizukage. Ah, who hadn't wanted to become Mizukage even just briefly as a youth... He nodded. "That's a noble aim," he conceded with a smile. "Good luck with that. And ah, yeah, I think we should be fine with the lettuce for now," he added after Tenshi spoke. "In fact..." he said, after hearing lots of growling stomachs in the kitchen, "Let me." Walking over to Kuri, he picked up the last piece of carrot and finished chopping it up.
"Now we just have to mix all the ingredients together that Yubei has so helpfully gathered up here." He waved a hand vaguely at the general area.

  Now came the most fun part. The Fish was cut, the vegatables were prepped, and the snow crab was smelling delightfyl. It was time to make sushi. Gwyn almost salivated at the thought of putting a few freshly made rolls into her mouth and savoring all of her, and her fellow students, hard work. She could see it now. Tuna that melted in her mouth. Salmon, perfectly seasoned. Finished with snow crab that was perfectly dressed, awaiting the point where it would tickle the young girls taste buds. Gwyn almost shivered. It had been quite a long time sense Gwyn had been this excited about food. Often times she simply blew it off and didn't really think about the flavors and textures when she ate. She simply took the food, chewed the food, and swallowed the food without a second thought. But this sushi would be differant. She would make sure to enjoy every last drop of rice, every last suculant layer of flavor. As evil as it was for Andou to force the children to make the food Gwyn now no longer cared. She simpy wanted to consume and feel satisfied.
Gwyn unfortuantly didn't even know where to begin however and simply stood there looking like an idiot. She didn't want to ask because she felt like even a simpleton should be able to make sushi. Yet here she was, a pretty bright girl, and she couldn't even think of the first step. Gwyn took her face in her hands, pulling down on the bottom eyelid as she thought to herself. Maybe I should take the snow crab and roll it in the lettuce... No, because where does the carrots go? Gwyn thought to herself for what felt like forever before she dropped her hands to her side and sighed. "Andou-sensie, where do we begin with all these ingrediants?" Gwyn asked puzzled. Surely he knew and perhaps he would be in a giving mood and shed some light of this dark situation. However, as Gwyn thought about it more and more, it seemed unlikely he would share anything to helpfull. He seemed to be the type of man that wanted people to work things out for themselfs to find a greater knowlage hidden deep within.

Andou was pleased that at least one student seemed to be a bit gung ho about the whole thing. The whole thing had taken a bit longer than usual, but food preparation took time! It would be wrong to enjoy the fruits of labour without actually putting in said labour. After all, seafood was also called "fruits of the sea" in a few other languages or so Andou had heard. It was all the same thing to Andou.
"Yubei, it's simple," Andou said, grabbing a large ladle and scooping a sizable portion of the snow crab strips, cucumber pieces, carrot strips and lettuce strips into a large bowl (as much as the bowl could fit). Then he added a generous helping of the salad sauce. "Just follow my lead. Here, take this." He offered Gwyn a bowl and the ladle before starting to mix. Normally he would probably let the kids figure it out on their own but he was also getting hungry along with the others.

Tenshi followed what Andou had done and followed up with smelling the food almost complete. "You gotta smell this!!" He was getting a little too excited and held the bowl by Gwyn. The smell of the food made his stomach gurgle rather loudly. Although he liked cooking food, his gauntlets would more than likely prevent him from rolling everything together. Little tasks that required a lot of detail often gave Tenshi the most difficult time and so he avoided it whenever possible. "Mmmm Hmmmm," he said as he finished stirring the ingredients together adding a little bit more dressing for the perfect taste.

Even after failing Gwyn felt like a million bucks. All of the knowledge and experience she was gaining was flooding into her in a moments notice. It was as if she could feel the energy of the world flowing into her. Gwyn had not problem with Andou showing her the ropes for this little task, as she was sure she would never again find the privilege of him helping her in such a way. The way he explained the making of the salad was simple enough, now it was just the process of putting what she learned into action. A thing much easier said then done. To start off Gwyn grabbed a good spoonful of crab and placed it in a large bowl just as Andou had done. She followed this up by grabbing the rest of the bits and pieces needed. She made sure the blend was consistent to what she had been shown, along with the order in which things were done. After all if she just did exactly what Andou had done how could she fail?
Gwyn finished by topping it off with a bit of the dressing. When she went to taste it she could feel her stomach rumble. Very soon she would be digging her teeth into a nice pile of fresh made sushi. Gwyn attempted to push away thoughts of later and focus on the here and now. The young girl nibbled a bit at first as she taste tested the salad, afraid she may have left something off. However; as she nibbled she found a fantastic spice to be filling her taste buds. THIS WAS FANTASTIC! Gwyn thought to herself, ecstatic that she could even make food that tasted as good as this. Gwyn smiled putting to bowl with Andous and Tenshi's. She took a bit more of the salad to munch on before giving Tenshi a thumbs up, no words were necessary to explain Gwyns happiness in their combined success.

"It's good, isn't it?" Andou chuckled, seeing Gwyn happier than he had seen her ever before. Though he hadn't known her for very long. You could really tell how he became more open and cheerful around food. "We'll be done soon. Fubuki, Yubei, can I trust you to split the salad and serve it after it's mixed enough?" Andou continued to mix in a circular motion with another, smaller ladle (that he had picked up upon giving the larger one to Gwyn) for a bit longer.
"It's all about the ingredients, really. Sure, the technique helps. It can transform mediocre ingredients into amazing meals. But the ingredients are what matter the most." It was almost like he was speaking to himself. Eventually he slowed his mixing and finally stopped. His part of the salad was done.

Gwyn noticed that Andou had a much brighter complexion about him when he was around food. She couldn't tell if it was because he too was very hungry and the simple thought of eating brought ease to his stomach, or if Andou just put on a facade when he was in the public. Gwyn thought it had to be the former, for if the facade was for the students he would have maintained it even now. Gwyn tried not to dwell on it to much as she got back to pulling out another bowl for the salad. Andou had asked her and Tenshi to split and serve the salad as soon as it was finished. She had no problem about doing so, but it still felt like work that kept her away from eating. "Absolutely, sensie." Gwyn said with fake enthusiasm. It seemed there was just one more bowl to fix before all of the preparation would be finished and the feast could begin. Gwyn had before her all of the ingredients, now she just had to remember to apply them all.
For some reason Gwyns mind went blank, she couldn't remember what went in the salad in what order or with what sauce. She simply stood there looking at the empty bowl like a complete fool. Was it Salmon, Snow crab, Lettuce, Tuna? No that wouldn't be it. That would just be a meat schmorgisporg with a bit of lettuce in it. Was it Snow crab, sauce, carrots, mix? That was stupid, where was the lettuce in all of that. Gwyn sighed putting her hands to her face and rubbing her temples. She was determined to get this right, she didn't want to look like such a failure in front of everybody, But for the life of her she couldn't remember what went in the damned thing. ----------------------------------------

Shinzu lifted up his hand, and knocked on Andou's door. It had been a long time since Shinzu had last seen his old, and favorite, sensei. So as soon as he heard Andou was back in town Shinzu came to his old apartment, hoping that perhaps he was there, and based on the smells coming from the apartment, someone had to be in there. "Andou-Sensei, are you here?" Shinzu said with a raised voice, hoping for somekind of response.

Seeing that Gwyn still had a bit of difficulty (maybe she was too hungry?), Andou decided to have mercy on them and spare them any more work. "Don't worry about it, Yubei," he said, taking the bowl from her and quickly putting the required ingredients in. "You've done a lot already. You too, Fubuki. Your bowl looks done. Just get your plates ready."
Quickly, Andou finished mixing up the last bowl of salad and set it down next to the others on the counter, ladle leaning against the inner edge of the bowl. "Just help yourselves," he said, spooning himself a large portion while he was at it. There was plenty of salad though, certainly enough to feed all of them. "And scratch the sushi. We'll just have sashimi." Andou picked up the salmon and tuna slices from where he had put them and laid them neatly on a large platter. "Tuck in! And excuse me, I seem to have another guest."
He opened the door with a spoon in his mouth at the same time. As he savoured the taste of the snow crab salad, an eyebrow rose as he saw his longtime ex-student. "Well, well," he said after finishing his mouthful. "Word travels fast. Come in. Have some food too while you're at it."

"Andou-sensei, you know that the only thing faster then rumor in this village is lightning from the occasional thunderstorm." Shinzu said as he entered Andou's apartment, for the first time actually. One thing he noticed where two Students inside, and who where apparently cooking. "Andou-sensei, you're not making these students cook for you are you? I know it's been awhile since my academy days, but I don't remeber ever having to cook. In fact I remember you buying my dinner before." Shinzu said laughing lightly as he took a seat at a table.
