"I have a thick skin..." Jaden had trailed off while speaking to the Doctor as they stood before the door to the medical deck.
*As she went to follow him and continue her sentance, he stopped and gave her a hug which caught her rather off-guard and whispered another belief that the Captain may have something up his diabolical sleeve. After all her embarassment already, she merely stood with a slightly stunned look on her face. He walked out the door and she still stood there, head cocked to the side and spoke half-dazed towards him. Her voice was quiet and soft as she finished the rest of her sentance.*
"... I just have a harder time doing that... while you're around, I guess..."
*She blinked a couple times and shook herself out of her little trance before she placed a hand to the door handle. She took a deep breath and went up to the main deck, slightly rattled, but only by her own thoughts.*

*She had gone below to find the Doctor to see what preparations needed to be taken care of once landing in Provoka. She opened the door to the Sick Bay but found no one there. Jaden grabbed a lantern from beside the door and struck a match on the door frame. Looking around it was clean and quiet. Not a single thing stirred in the room. She slowly walked over to the surgical table and hopped up onto it as she looked out the small porthole beside the counter. Bottles and gauze below sat in their places, and even a small pan of tools remained untouched by anyone since the Captain leaving the boat. In the light of the lantern she hugged herself tightly and thought of the odd and unusual happenings aboard the ship. Slowly, those thoughts became a jumble of everything and anything at once. Thoughts of events that had happened recently, things that happened before she came aboard the ship, and even romantic tendencies that had only remained a dream to her all crossed her mind.
Sleep must have over taken her while she sat there thinking of the past, for she heard Acting Captain Ares above deck bellowing orders. Wiping the sleep from her eyes, she looked around. It was dark, the lantern had obviously gone out while she slept, but a low haze came from the porthole. Almost undetectable, daylight was still creeping over the horizon. She had obviously slept through the night there. Wondering if the Doctor had ever returned to his quarters, she did not know. She hoped that if he had come in, he would have awakened her, but maybe he simply didn't notice her since the lantern was not where it was supposed to be beside the door. She nodded that he probably walked through in darkness, never knowing her being there. Jaden quietly got off the table and taking up the lantern, hung it back beside the door. Then, taking the handle, she slowly closed the heavy door to the Infirmary before heading back above deck.*
