Autumnpaw's ears perked up at the news Spicepelt gave her. "An assessment! Do you really think I'm ready Spicepelt?" she mewed enthusiastically. All signs of her hunger vanished as she heard the news. I may be a warrior soon! She could hardly even pay attention to see if there was any prey around.

Bronzepaw purred. "Thunderpath?" She mewed quietly, beore following behind her mentor.
Spicepelt nodded. "You'll be great. You can hunt very well." She batted her on her head. "Anyone who can knock down the deputy passes the assessment."

"Thank you Spicepelt" she mewed to her mentor. "I bet I can catch more prey than you!" Autumnpaw mewed before running off into the undergrowth.
After running for a bit Autumnpaw slowed down and got into the hunter's crouch. She sensed the area around her. Suddenly, she realized where she was. Snakerocks. She decided to look for some mice nearby. She slowly backed away from the adder-infested area. She was a few tail-lengths away when she heard the familiar sound of a mouse. Slowly, she scented the air and found where it was. She stalked it's movements by the tree. As soon as it's back had turned to her she pounced on it and ended it's life. She was about to bury it when it began to snow. "I'd better just bring it back to camp" she mewed unenthusiastically. Spicepelt will have beat me for sure! She carefully picked up the mouse and took it back to camp.

Snow had begun to fall once more when Blizzardpaw's ears perked up. A wind blowing through the camp carried the sent downwind from him, making it hard for the young apprentice to tell who was coming.
Maybe its finally Icestar! Blizzardpaw hoped thinking to himself.
The paw-steps cirtainly sound soft enough... he continued, flicking his ears from side to side.
Blizzardpaw crouched down into a stalking position. It was silly to even try and sneek up on Icestar, especially with his scent blowing towards her. Regaurdless, BLizzardpaw stalked over to where the rustleing was and where Icestar would enter the camp...then... He Pounced!
Blizzardpaw kicked up the snow on the forest floor as he launched himself, playfully, towords his mentor and laching on!
Haha! Caught You! Blizzardpaw meowed with excitement, but no sooner did he speak that he realized that it wasn't Icestar beneith his paws, but Autumnpaw returning from her hunt!
Blizzardpaw quickly let go and sat, ears folded back with embarassment.
(Sorry I havn't been on guys. I was on a band trip all weekend and its hard getting on the comp some days. I'll try to be better about it) sweatdrop

Autumnpaw sat up and glared at Blizzardpaw. Then heaved a sigh and mewed "I guess if I had been an enemy cat you would have been prepared." She went over and picked up her mouse and went to eat it by the fresh-kill pile.

Spicepelt remembered her first assessment. Her mentor was...very..untrained, she guessed. She heardher mentor and smelled her all through the assessment. Her mentor eventually scared away all the prey, and told her her assessment wasn't good. She shook her head. Amazing how she got to be a warrior, let alone a deputy, with that cat as her mentor...

Blizzardpaw's ears perked up in surprise as he followed the fellow apprentice to the kill pile and sat down next to her while she ate.
Wait a minute! You honestly couldn't smell me or hear me? He said in disbelief. I must be getting better at this!
That or you were just being nice. He continued smileing at Autumnpaw and giving her a suspicious look as a joke.
So, was the hunt easy today? When I went out on my own last night, I only found one small vole. I can't wait untill the spring thaw. All this snow is making food scarce...even if it is great for hiding in.

"I shouldn't have to worry about being attacked in my own camp," she said "however, you do seem to be getting better Blizzardpaw." "The snow does make hunting a bit more difficult" she sighed and rose to her paws. "Only cats as white as you would find snow easy to hide in!" she mewed teasingly.

As Icestar emerged into camp, she could smell that Autumnpaw, Spicepelt and Blizzardpaw were inside camp.
Scarhead must still be out with Bronzekit...
Icestar looked over to the fresh-kill pile to see two small furry bodies huddled close together. She came up behind them and purred, "This harsh leaf-bare has got everyone freezing!" Then she flilcked Blizzardpaw with her tail. "How 'bout a hunting lesson?" she mewed, although she already knew the answer.

Spicepelt shook herself, and also went over to Autumnpaw. "It's your choice, Autumnpaw. You can go hunting with Blizzardpaw, if it's okay with him and Icestar, or we'll go training. What do you say?" She asked, shivering.

Autumnpaw glanced at her mentor then at Icestar and Blizzardpaw. "I'd prefer battle training in this kind of weather" she mewed. She shook the snow off of her pelt and cleaned her whiskers.

"Yes, the Thunderpath. The Thunderpath is a gray, stone hard path that Twoleg monsters pad on. Just getting hit by one could kill a cat." Scarhead said. They came up to the Thunderpath. "Here is the Thunderpath. Also the border with Shadowclan." Scarhead meowed.

Bronzepaw gazed at it, wide-eyed. "It stinks!" She said, disgusted. "No wonder this is ShadowClan border. This smell must be to cover up their scent." She rolled her eyes and hesitantly put one paw on the Thunderpath. "How bad could it be?" She asked quietly, and walked the way across, unaware of the border.
Spicepelt nodded. "Let's go, then, Autumnpaw." She smiled. "Lead the way. You should know it by now."

Autumnpaw hopped up and began to head for the tunnel. She looked back to make sure Spicepelt was following. "You're slower than an elder Spicepelt" she mewed teasingly and then raced off for the sandy hollow.
When she got there she unsheathed and sheathed her claws in preparation for her training.

Scarhead looked over and heard a monster coming. "Bronzepaw get back! A monster is coming!" Scarhead screamed. He hoped Bronzepaw did make him going overt there and get her like she was a frightned kit.
