"I'm glad you love it! Now... hang on tight!!"
With a big grin, he took in a deep breath before angling his wings more to do a barrel roll in the air quickly. If for some reason, Amuriel hadn't been able to hang on during that, he knew he could catch her without much problem.
"WOOO!!" he shouted while spinning through the air, keeping track of what he felt on his back to make sure his friend was still there and hanging on well.

Grinning at his command, she leaned closer to his neck and tried to bury her fingers deeper into his mane. "Alright!" she called excitedly, wondering what he was going to do.
As he rolled quickly, she screamed in surprise and excitement, and having not prepared herself well enough for the roll, her grip loosened. Her hands slipped from his mane and she from his back until she was frantically grasping at his leg. For a moment she managed to grab hold of a handful of his fur, but the hair was slick and short. Her grasp there soon failed, and she fell even from there, trying to reach quickly for some sort of hold on his body and hoping he would manage to catch her.

Feeling Amuriel slip away, Maelthra quickly rolled over more and dove towards her. Flying past her, he flipped over onto his back so that he could catch her in his arms as well as with his chest and belly. Since he couldn't really fly upside-down, he was falling as well right now, but once he got a hold of her, he knew he'd be able to recover with relative ease.
"I got you!"

Amuriel saw a dark movement and felt herself land on something soft. With a sigh of relief, she realized it was Maelthra, and she grasped his fur gratefully.
"Thanks!" she called out, trembling from the fall but excited still. In a way, the fall had just exhilarated her further, giving her a taste of danger as well as free flight. But Maelthra had caught her, and safely. To be in his arms and against his chest felt very secure somehow, and despite the situation, she flustered momentarily. She reprimanded herself for such odd thoughts and glanced down at the world below, wondering when he would flip back around and how.

"No problem," he said with a grin.
In another moment, he flipped himself over and beat down with his wings to regain altitude. As he did, he continued to hold onto Amuriel, deciding it would be safer to carry her that way instead of trying to put her on his back in mid flight. Roaring happily, he soared higher into the sky, which was now blackened with the coming of night, as well as filled with thousands of bright little stars.
"Look around Amuriel..."

Nestling into his arms comfortably as Maelthra flipped himself over, Amuriel looked around and finally up at the sky. Things looked so different now, shaded by night. The sky had even held its bargain and remained clear for the night. Smiling, she looked over the constellations she was familiar with and then at the moon. She felt as if she reached out far enough she could touch them.
Momentarily, she buried her face against the fur on his arm, smiling and happy, before lifting it once again, "It's really beautiful out tonight... thank you for bringing me on this flight.."

Smiling as he glided more softly and slowly now so that she could take in their surroundings a little better, Maelthra glanced down at his precious passenger, feeling very good to be able to hold her close like that. As he also admired her, he sighed softly before speaking.
"Yeah... but you know... it's not more beautiful than you are really... And... I'll take you on trips like this more if you'd like. I certain wouldn't mind... it feels really nice to be flying around with you..."
NOdding as he spoke, he smiled wider before facing forward again, gently flying over the treetops far below.

Hearing his compliment, Amuriel flustered and squirmed slightly in his arms, once again feeling like a pup instead of the elder she was. His words, they complimented her! He had called her beautiful.. In her reverie, she watched the world below her, smiling and flushed a light red.
"Th-thank you," she replied, stumbling on her words in her excitement. "I'd definitely like to go on more trips like this. It's beautiful out, and it feels so amazing to be so close to you."

"You're very welcome... and... yeah it's really amazing, and I'm very happy to be able to share this with you.."
Smiling softly, he held onto her securely as he felt her squirm a bit. Maelthra definitely felt at peace, flying around the clear night sky with Amuriel with him. The feeling she gave him was just something he couldn't quite describe. All he knew for sure was that it was a very very good feeling deep within him.
What exactly is this feeling..?

Amuriel sighed happily and nestled into his arms, watching the world pass below them and enjoying the time she was spending with him. It really did feel amazing to be so close to him, physically and emotionally. Their companionship had really grown, but Amuriel wondered... just how much? She felt so close to him, and she cared for him greatly. But.. to label it as friendship seemed to diminish what they had for some reason. So... what exactly was it? Still simple attraction? Or.. something else? She didn't know, and she was too afraid to ask him how he felt. She thought that speaking with him would be the only way to determine what it was she was feeling, but she was afraid of embarrassing him and herself as she had a while back. Glancing toward the stars, she wished there was some answer there, but as she watched the sky pass above them, her gaze shifted until she was watching him. Better than any star.. she thought idly to herself.

As time went by, Maelthra just continued to gently fly around with Amuriel in his arms. For now, he didn't debate on his feelings and just enjoyed the peaceful flight greatly, and he wished he could keep this sort of thing up forever. However, he knew that wasn't quite possible.
"It's getting late Amuriel... and as much as I'd l.. love to keep this up, we should be landing soon to get some rest. I really enjoyed flying with you though..."
With a soft smile, he tightened his hold lightly momentarily before beginning his descent towards their home.

Amuriel nodded and watched the world pass below them, "I've enjoyed it too, but yeah.. it is getting late.. Thank you again, Maelthra."
Smiling, she watched as they approached their home. She tried to pick out the familiar features: the waterfall, the ledge, the path winding its way to their cave entrance, her little garden, the pool of water near... It looked peaceful, and it matched her mood at the moment. She was very content and very tranquil. The flight had been exciting, but the time she spent with Maelthra had really made her feel at peace and safe. To fly sheltered in his arms like that, watching the world around and above them, she had felt very secure. Nestling into his arms and waiting for them to land, she knew that the flight had just further strengthened the bond she already had with him. Though she might not always be in his arms, she would still feel peaceful, safe, and happy with him near.

As he came in for the landing, Maelthra carefully slowed down so that it wouldn't be a rough one. He first touched down with his hind legs and carefully lowered his body to set Amuriel onto the ground before touching down completely and making sure he wouldn't step on her or anything like that. And once he was fully on the ground, he just let out a small content sigh and tucked his wings in at his side once again. The dark elder felt very refreshed after flying like that, and now more than ever did he want to spend his time with her.
"If you ever want to fly with me again... I'd be more than happy to... Flying with you.. is just an amazing feeling... I found it hard to describe it myself."
Stretching out lightly, he yawned while watching her, hoping that she felt the same way.

Amuriel smiled, somewhat amazed that Maelthra could land so easily in a way that was obviously awkward for him. He really did know how to fly very well. Stepping away so that he could touch down fully, she watched him, thankful for the flight he had taken her on.
"It was amazing.." Amuriel replied, stepping back to him again. "I would love to fly again, and if you ever want to take me up again.. you can just ask.."
She wanted to reach out and touch the side of his face, even hug him in her elven form, for not just the flight, but for being her companion in general. For being so kind and helpful with her and starting this home with her. She felt gratitude and happiness, and as she thought of everything he had done for her and everything they had created together, she kept thinking of the stars that had passed above them as they flew, the way the wind pushed back her hair and the strength of his arms and wings as he held her.

Stepping forward towards her, Maelthra smiled and nodded at what she had to say. And without thinking, he leaned in and lightly brushed the side of his muzzle against her face, nuzzling her gently. Then blinking as he realized what he had done, he shifted and tilted his head as he stepped back. If he had been without fur or in his elven form, he probably would have been flustered at that moment.
"Ehehehe... sorry..."
Wondering what had come over him with that, he shook his head gently before yawning once more and stretching out his limbs.
