sadness overwhelmed Zy; though he did not show it.A curse? To remember? Zy has alway thought it was a curse not to remember, it was been so long he doesn't he know if he was born a vampire or not." But isn't it better to know..." Zy couldn't explain it to her, she was able to love, to remember....Maybe it's better this way. He thought as he looked at the werewolf across from him.

"sometimes...it is good to know." she looked up at him. "but so many times thign from my human life come back to haunt me...the hunts...the pain of what has happened, killing my family because it consumed me even before i turned into a werewolf. beign tortured as a human because i was marked as a beast. being hunted again as a werewolf by the very people i had grown up with and been friends with...they are all things that i would rather have forgotten. memory is like salt, it rubs agasint my wounds and makes them deeper and more uncomfortable to bear." she then frowned at him. "can't you...?"

Zy looked away. "No" He said weakly. " I can't remember anything from my childhood. Not the friends, not the games, not laughter, not the touch of my mother or even her voice." he tried hard to think back. " I wish i could remember."

she frowned to him, sad. "where do you first remember? maybe if you can recall, i could help you find things out about your past...if you want me to, that is..." she leaned back, huddling in her cloak. "i don't like remembering but it seems to me as though remembering would be better for you...i want to help."

Zy thought hard Before her death, before being cast out, before the war, before... "I remember following a man... to a church. It was empty; except for another man. he ...attacked me, only me." Zy was almost in a trances as he attempted to recall his past.

Zy didn't hear her. "It was raining when I awoke. I was under a small bridge; far away from the city, from home. I was scared and confused. He betrayed me, he lied to me." Zy broke from the memories, "Non of it matters any more. It was long ago, and everyone I knew before are dead." His voice was harsh and cold.

Shaon stood weakly, careful to keep her cloak around her. she was already thinking, igoring the harshness in his voice. "It does matter, don't say it doesn't..." she put her hand to her temples. "If soemone did somethgin to hurt you then you hurt them back." Zander had told her that wasn't how it worked...but look where he ended up...dead as a rock. "liars, betrayers and backstabbers deserve to die."

Zy looked at her. "They are already dead, it happened 95 years ago. I was only a kid." Zy watched her carefully to make sure she's not straining herself.

she sighed and stood agiasnt the wall, using it to support her. "the man who betrayed me is still not dead. Zander wouldn't let me kill him." she tightened her fists. hadn't he also told her she'd been acting different before he died? she shrugged it off. "i think i might, now. y'know, case the lycan side gets the better of me." she grinned bitterly at her own sense of morbid humor.

"Zander sounds like a wise human." He told her; ignoring her last comment. "You shouldn't be up, you might reopen your wound." Zy still couldn't get over that he was talking to a werewolf like this, he doesn't even treat vampires this good.

"Zander wasn;t a human thanks to me...." she sighed, looking distant, then forced herself to focus on his last comment. "fine." she slumped back down to the ground, sighing.

Zy smiled to himself.Sometimes, she looks like a child. He thought to himself; ignoring the fact of who she really looks like. The fire felt good on his bare chest as he added more wood to it. "They'll be looking for us soon, the people from the town." He looked at her with concerning eyes.

Zy rolled his eyes at her stupid comments. " If I wanted to leave you, I would have done it already.... The truth is, I enjoy your company." He hesitated to tell her that last part as he looked away from her.
