Donovan nodded at that comment, it was true, he was for all purposes, human, "Yes, they are," he murmured, "I'm glad you feel safe here, since safety had been a concern."
He had faith in the fighters that Ulani and Ulrich chose, it was just that he wasn't that comfortable in working with people he did not know. The man mused for a moment, carrying on conversation was difficult, he had forgotten that, it was his other reason for not wanting to deal with clan politics.

"Well, I suppose we'll find out what it does," Haradhel smiled. "It will be interesting to see a creature from another world ... though to have a pet at all will be interesting. I've never had one before, not even a dog."
There were so many things she had missed out on during her own childhood, she was determined that her children, and those she took care of, would lack in nothing.
Elrohir chuckled inwardly at Donovan, it seemed as though the poor man was at a loss for words already.
"We should keep going," he commented, nodding to Vanya. "I'll be back later for a report, all right? We'll see you again then."

Vanya nodded and bowed her head to Elrohir. "As you wish, my Lord," she smiled. Then she turned to Donovan. "It was a pleasure to meet you, sir, and I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavours."
She bowed her head once more, and with that, she turned and headed back into the garden.

Once she was sure the plant was secure, Cindy nodded at that thought, "We've had.. and still do have a lot of pets," she murmured softly, "Wish was the first, and she came out of something just like this I was told once. I was also told you can tell what colours it's going to be by the fluffball, so that's the design we'll probably see on the fur."
It was probably going to need water, she wondered if it needed sun too.

"Thank you," Donovan nodded back.
While in the back of his head he was thinking 'saved' with a mental sigh of relief. Now he remembered for certain why he did not want to be clan leader, he just sucked at this. That's right, there was something that Donovan sucked at.

Haradhel nodded. "I've never seen anything like it before," she said softly, smiling. Then she laughed. "Then again, I've never seen anything like you or your brother, either. Is it like this everywhere in your land?"
Elrohir chuckled a bit at Donovan and beckoned for him to follow again. "Stables or fighters?" he asked. "To meet next, I mean."

Cindy looked thoughtful for a moment, "I suppose, having everything different is what I've known for as long as I can remember, but Mom says there are places a lot further away where there is only one race and no other," she mused, "But I can't imagine to be honest...."
She had seen all sort of people walk into the inn and out again, that it simply was unthinkable.

Donovan thought about it, but only for a second, since he wasn't really going to change his plans, "The stables," he replied.
Though he restrained himself from rolling his eyes, yes he was an awkard person in a social setting.

Haradhel returned to her sewing, making herself comfortable at the desk once more. "I can't imagine a place with more than one race," she replied with amusement. "But then, I've never been out of the Southland before now. The only humans I've seen, besides your father, were the ones who raided the caravan I was traveling on."
She smiled thoughtfully. "That was a long time ago now ..."
Elrohir nodded and changed their direction of travel. "Stables it is," he agreed. "And the training pen is on the way, we might as well stop there first."
Indeed, it was already in sight, to the right of the long building on the south side of the ranch. They could also see a horse and an elf above the pen's half-wall.

Now that the branch was nicely planted Cindy set the pot aside so she could sort through the rest of the items. After all, it would probably only need to be watered once a day, and there were a lot of things.
"Are raids common?" she asked.
It was also an unusual thing, she had heard of muggers and robbers and kidnappers (for her mother had warned of those people before letting her daughter go to the city). However they were only one, never a group, and one person against a learnt child of magic was no match unless the person in question was also a mage.

Donovan nodded at that as he followed Elrohir once more. He was impressed with the size of the stables, but then again his family only kept a small stable just for learning how to ride. They did not breed horses after all, there was not much need to if most of their sons and daughters would work in cities instead of out in the country side where horses were needed.

"All too common," Haradhel nodded with a frown. "I don't know how many people were killed on that particular attack ... for all I know, I might have been the only survivor. I just ran."
Perhaps it had been selfish, but ... survival was the strongest instinct of all.
Elrohir remained silent as they approached the training pen, motioning for the others to remain silent as well. The last thing they needed to do was spook the horse that was being trained ... Amdir was after all trapped in an enclosed space with it.

Amdir saw the three of them approaching and put a hand out to stop the horse he was working with, and keep it calm. He climbed out of the pen carefully and brushed his hands on his pants, then straightened and greeted the others.
"Good morning," he called out. "I am Amdir ... and you, sir, must be the father of Feng and Ryu ... correct?"
He tried not to stare at the man with the cat-ears, but it was a little difficult.

What a strange thought, Cindy mused to herself, where the wild animals were more harmful than people. Then again, she supposed there were more people like Donovan who seeked out people like the raiders. After all it was an adventure culture she grew up in.
"I was a lot smaller once," Cindy murmured, "Even though I'm the oldest, and I would take trips into the city by myself. I can't imagine it not being safe enough where I couldn't do something like that."

"Yes," Donovan replied back, "And I see you've met the two."
Well at least he knew that the twins were around here somewhere. That was a good side at least. Though he fought down a chuckle since it seemed Triton's looks was attracting attention. Then again at least the mers looked human.
