Hitori watched in amazement as the tree bent to Nicks will and made a makesift bed for her. She nodded, smiling at Nick and his never-ending surprises. This amazing place he lived in at the moment seemed a paradise to Hitori, seeking to be alone and away from people who would only scorn her and use her for their own needs.
She watched him a while before dropping Nicks and her own cloak onto the ground as she dropped into the steaming water, letting the warmth envelop her.

Hitori swam throughout the water letting her thoughts evelop her. The computer chip in her head was telling her to watch Nick, he was tricky and shouldn't be trusted, but at least stay the night and take what food she could. The cat side of her brain was screaming to get out of the water and dry off, maybe go let Nick scratch her behidn the ears. And the Human side of her brain, barely managing to maintain control over the other two, only wanted to stay in this moment, floating in the water and knowing that Nick and a bed meant for her were close by.
Finally, sadly, she drudged out of the water to calm the cat side of her brain and laid down on her bed. She folded her hands behind her head and stared thoughtfully at the ceiling. This place was wonderful, and Nick was acting very kindly. She suddenly sat up. He had been acting just as kindly to Akina not too long ago, walking off to the extravagent city and leaving her all alone in the snow. The computer was taking control and pumping Hitori's mind with as many morbid thoughts as it could think of. She quietly padded over to the cloaks, lying forgotten on the floor. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the small peice of candy cane. Walking back to her bed, she laid down and curled up in a ball, clutching that peice of candy cane.

Hitori hid the candy cane under the leaves and moss of her bed and sat up, smiling hollowly.
"I'm sure it will be." She smiled up at him again and slowly began to eat, barely noticing the delicious flavor of the fish. All the while the computer chip in her head, the 'behavior chip' was whispering more and more lies to her. Long ago the cat part of her brain had stopped thinking altogther and was huddled up in one corner of her mind, afraid of the computer's monotone voice. Hitori finished the fish and covered her ears with her hands, trying to block out the computer's voice. She was seeing the shadowy faces of the Japanese government officials who had turned her into an abomination, she could hear them laughing, congradulating each other. Undying hate flowed over her and felt the cat in her mind hiss.
"Thank you Nick, it was delicious." She said quietly, knowing that he could hear her easily. Still seeing the officials and hearing the whispering computer's voice she laid back down onto her bed, pulling her cloak off of the nearby floor and dragging it over her limp form, she fell into a fitful sleep.

Hitori opened her eyes and saw that she was restrained by thick steel bars lacing across her entire self. Wires flowed out of her body all over and she was floating in a shining green liquid. She opened her mouth to scream but only bubbles came out. Below her, Hitori could hear muffled clapping and cheering. Through the hazy green she could make out the shapes of many men and women, all dressed in white lab suites. She couldn't move and couldn't scream. All she could do was shake her head, sort hair flying about wildly and cry, watching the clear drops float off through the green liquid.
Hitori fell the the ground, but she was suddenly outside, and her hair was longer, held back in a ponytail. She had guns and knives strapped to her legs and arms and in her hands she held two large guns. Shecouldn't control herself as she ran towards robotic arms holding guns and tanks, all shooting at her. Someone else was controlling her, using that damn chip to make her run towards death, only to destroy the targets and kneel down on one knee as scientists and army generals ran out, excited and yelling, searching her body for any chance of damage. How she wished to lash out and rip off their arms.
Suddenly, she was outside again, farther from the base than usual, farther from whoever held control to her behavior chip. She could move slightly of her own accord, even more as she moved farther from the base. Suddenly, she bolted away, past the targets and far, far away.
"Go Back." A voice echoed in her head. What? She thought. I will never go back there! "You must go back, they all miss you, they want to take care of you." They do? Hitori thought, confused. "Yes, you made them sad, they need you. Didn't you know? You must go back to them!" The voice pushed. But I don't want to go back. She thought hazily. I don't want to...

Hitori woke suddenly from the nightmare and held her face in her hands. It was very early in the morning she could tell by the smell and, looking next to her, she saw that Nick was still asleep. She looked down and saw that he'd placed his cloak over her sometime in the night.
She sat there silent, heavily breathing in the darkness for some time, waiting for the sun to rise.
