True, but I've seen some outrageous shipping prices, too. Or maybe I'm just too poor.

And Brookman, we DO own fifth, to the point that I remember practically all the rules and charts after playing for months. We just don't agree with some of the newest rules.

Hokay, so... against Imperial Guards, I feel as though I am being cheated, but I am not certain. So the player uses a mortar in his platoon command (or whatever command, I am uneducated in terms of IG) And so when he uses his master of ordnance, he says its basically a multiple barrage, and so he doesnt actually scatter, he just goes a little bit off of the scatter from the Mortar, in the way a multiple barrage regularly works. But this to me is really cheap especially for a weapon that was supposed to be hard to control in the first place.

wrong! this represents old, but still used real life artillery technique called "ranging shot". First shot from battery is fired, impact point determined and rest of battery fires making adjustments relative to deviation from target - or with no adjustments if first shot hit.

The Master of Ordnance shot cannot be paired with an attached mortar. I guess this is one of those cute little loops that they need to FAQ out of the codex.

Got 2 things that needs clarification (now that you guys mentioned cover saves wink

1st: Psycic powers:

Some models are able to use more then one power per turn,
but can they use same type of power as many times as they are allowed,
(IE, make Machine Curse/Gate of Infinity twice.)
or are they limited to 1 per round like in FB´s magics to avoid spell-spamming?

Both SM and Rulebook doesn´t mention nor state anything about this,
the statement in rulebook says
"can use 1 psychic power per player turn", but it doesn´t really awnser on
cases when there are more then 1 powers being able to use.

2nd: Get´s Cover save?:

I know that units inside/close to terrain normally gets a cover save,
but what about situations where you shoot a enemy unit NOT in terrain,
but there is a piece of terrain on LOS path?
Do they get a cover save then aswell?

We´ve played that it gives to represent that they would dodge low to take
advanges of the wall, bush, ect on their shooters path....

1: I'm not sure on that one... Doesn't have a rulebook at hand nor feel like checking any FAQ's, but doesn't Eldrad have like a special rule that makes him able to use the same power twice? If that's the case then you can't use the same power twice if you don't have any special rules that allow you.

2: As long as there's terrain in the way of the LoS they get a cover save, seen on the cover section in the rulebook, units don't have to stand in there to get cover, this is why so many get cover saves nowdays.

If you can use more than one psychic power per turn, it can be the same one, however, keep in mind that you are still only limited to firing one weapon, so you can't use a psychic power that counts as a weapon more than once.

The rulebook pretty clearly spells this out. If LOS to half the target unit is obscured in any way; by intervening models, solid terrain, area terrain, vehicles, anything - then they get a cover save.

Hydra Flak Battery: It has that auto targeting/tracking thing that doesn't allow dudes to get the crazy save through flat out rule. So I'm playing another Imperial Guard player and the first turn he burns some rubber, so to speak, with his Valkyrie and is now right next to my squad of tanks (squad of three Leman Russ) Not wanting him to unload them next turn and destroy all three with his squad of melta wielding veterans I use my Hydra to try and kill it, and my Hydra has a Krak Missile on it. I fire everything at it and it goes down, mainly the missile killed it. Then the arguing began...

HK missiles also seem to benefit from the advanced targeting systems. Nowhere does it say that it is only slaved to the autocannons. I'd wait for an official FAQ.

Another question, I am fairly well versed in tactics and strategies of actual warfare and with this I was wondering if it's possible to range with artillery. For instance having a mortar crew/team fire at a large ork mob and correctly get the range on the third mortar team (Imperial Guard heavy weapon teams come in groups of 3 teams so thus I would guess a short range a long range and hopefully on the third range guess correctly) then have my heavy artillery (so much to choose from now with the new codex!) unload on the exact location.

Forward Observer: "Sir, the mortars have them in range.
Master of Ordnance: "Medusa, Manticore and Basilisk... Fire For Effect."
Forward Observer: "Sir? Isn't th-"
*BOOM
A Commissar steps forward lowering his bolt pistol.
Commissar: "You there, Vox in to the rear batteries his orders.
Vox Trooper: "Sir, which were?
Commissar: "Fire For Effect."

This is how it plays out in my head, epic battle raging and of the sort. However whenever I play with my friends I am forced to declare who is shooting at who and if it requires a "guess range" then I have to guess every single mortar, basilisk, yadda, yadda, ect... which by the fifth guess it's pretty much the same three numbers.

So if anyone could give some insight or tell me what page I should read up on in either my rulebook or my Imperial Guard Codex that would be swell.

"Guess Range" has effectively been done away with. By the best of my knowledge, what is done now is to place the template where you want to shoot and then measure to be sure that the center hole is in range for your shot.

You are correct, Guess Range has been done away with and you just place the template and hope to the God-Emperor, Blood God, Khaine or whomever that you're in range. You usually will be with template weapons, though, unless you're playing Apocolypse on a 10 foot table.
