Luque stood, still clutching his ears. The noise was so loud, yet none of the others were suffering ill effects from it. He could see James standing over the girl, who was now on the ground. He was still a little out of it, but he managed to keep himself upright as he walked over to the two.

James stood over the girl, weighing his options. Either she was real, and an unexplainable anomoly, or she was just a figment. But if she wasn't real, how had she...or, how had Luque gotten hurt? There were no documented occurences of people who hadn't come straight to The Hotel. Realization dawned on him and he turned to face the camp. Alwyn hadn't first come to The Hotel. He looked back and the girl and realized the truth of the fear in her eyes. He sighed and put out his hand, offering to help her up.

Kazeh reached for his hand and pulled herself quickly, especially in light of her weakness. She was shocked by his kind gesture, a rare thing in the wasteland, along with the presence of humans in the first place. When she first got here, she assumed it was just one of her very deep, imaginative dreams she used to get as a child. But it was just too real. Then she assumed she was in a coma, probably from some kind of accident. And then, she no longer cared. Now, her curiosity was sparked again, and huge relief came with it.

"You guys... are humans... aren't you? And nice...?" She tucked in her arms, shivering again.

James smiled. "Humans? Yes. Nice?" he shrugged. "It's a matter of perspective. He put his arm around her shoulder and led her to the fire, passing Luque on the way. He sat her down and draped one of his blankets around her, then sat beside her. He looked between her and Alwyn, trying to make any connections possible. But it seemed the only similarity between the two was that they were both girls. He shrugged it off his mind and turned back to the girl. "What's your name?"

Nemoralis stood close to the conversation, but was besides Luque. "Rest," she told him, not caring if he was going to do what she said. Ring, give me a glass of water that will help with the healing process. As you wish. A glass of water appeared in her hands, with a liquid similar to water but it could be seen to be something slightly different. "Drink this Luque, it will help you get better." She placed the glass of water in Luques hand. No, you have to wait till this wish is done, so that you can wish for something else. Ah! I had forgotten that. I know. That's why I am repeating it. Nemoralis nodded to herself, and decided to fuss over Luque. "What happened to you?" She soon began to feel a ghost pain in her head. Like a minor headache that just wasn't there. "Major headache?" She guessed. No kidding, no other reason for the ghost pain. Nemoralis looked around, searching for the origin of the voice. It sounded like herself, but there was certain feeling that didn't made it hers. She looked towards June, the mutt, but the dog was only following Alwyn's trail on the ground. She shook her head again, but started to tremble lightly, something was wrong. "How are you feeling now, Luque?" She said, mostly to distract herself and to quit thinking. It wasn't working to well for now.

"Good," he mumbled, taking a swig of the liquid. It tasted horrible, but it felt nice as it went down his throat, a warm tingling sensation. He finished it and set it down on the ground. "My head is killing me," he said. "That voice was so loud." He tried to stand to find the girl, but the liquid was more than just a feel-good drink. He wobbled as he shifted his weaight, then he fell back onto his backside, letting out a groan. There must've been some kind of sedative in that, he thought, his mind becoming more cloudy. But I can fight it. I know I can. In moments, he was fast asleep.

Sid sat next to the girl, listening to what James was saying. He's so brave, she thought. What if she hadn't've been a girl? What if she were a howlie or something? She sighed and put her chin in her hands. He's so brave. And strong, too. Her eyes caught the slight movement as his arm muscles tensed, lifting anothe blanket around the girl. And kind. She sighed again, almost losing herself in her admiration.

Daniel awoke from his sleep to see Sid and James sitting around a girl wrapped in blankets. Luque was sleeping on the ground as Nemoralis sat beside him, her dog patiently wagging its tail. "What's going?" he mumbled. But everyone was so wrapped up in everything they were doing that no one noticed that he'd said anything. "Oh, nothing Daniel," he mocked with a high-pitched voice. "We've just found someone that attacked Luque, but then turned out to be blanket-worthy." He scoffed and shook his head, watching the three sit by the fire. Or mainly, he was watching Sid. After a moment, she looked over to him and smiled, seeing that he was awake. Her entire face brightened, as though it were a minor holiday. Daniel smiled back. She definitely digs me, he thought.

((sorry for the love triangle thing, guys. but this needs some subplot, and that's all i could think of for right now))

(Get back here! *Runs after in a viol- I mean... helpful manner*)

Isaac was curled up on the ground a little ways away from everyone else. A half eaten bug thrown to the side. The dirt that managed to get on his bright red hair made it a slight maroon color. His breathing was even and he disregarded all the comments. He was falling asleep with all of the commotion while thinking of Maria. "What am I gonna say if... when I get back? 'Sorry I disappeared on you for so long. Are you okay?'" He smacked himself mentally, "Then I'd get my head chewed off..."

Back at The Hotel, Attia sighed. She already missed the company of James and Luque, even though it had only been a day. The tavern seemed emptier now that so many of the people had gone. James, Luque, Sid, Daniel, Alwyn, Alester, Isaac, Amaya. She looked around the tavern again. But there was someone else missing. Someone who was always there, but not now. She furrowed her brow, then shrugged it off, unable to figure out who it was.

A tall dark shape moved from a window on the third stroy of The Hotel. It quickly dropped to the ground, then stood, quickly catching a second form falling from the window. They walked away from The Hotel, not looking back until they were about one hundred feet away. There, the man merely looked over his shoulder, confirming his decision to leave. They might even be able to catch up with those that had left the day before...if he ran fast enough. He put his arm around the girl and swung her into his arms. "Aren't you sweet?" said Alex. He smiled and took off at a sprint, causing a slight wind in his wake. He sped faster and faster, his heart racing with Alex's. They'd catch up with them for sure.

That night, a second form dropped to the ground. She stood and cracked her neck, then her fingers. There was something wrong, and she had to fix it. Snapping her fingers, the tree she had previously been perched on shriveled into the ground. She felt a pang of regret as she remembered what she'd done. If she hadn't, none of this would've happened. There was only one course of action she could take to keep history from repeating itself.
None of them must reach The Oasis.

[[[scary]]

Alwyn was in the air, with the sudden erge to fly. it felt good to her...
PostPosted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 4:51 pm

((INTERESTING))

Nemoralis looked as Alwyn took off. She saw the glass dissapear. Ring, grant me the strength to take Luque near the fire. Granted. But not for much longer... Nemoralis shook her head as to not listen to the voice in her head. She took Luque in her arms, and moved him over to the fire. It was a rather funny site, a child carring a grown man. As she left him by the fire, she was oblivious of anything else that was happening. She covered him on a blanket and then, wishing with more than anything in her life to fly, she took off. Ring!! Not to worry, you simply wished to fly, and so I am complying. But I didn't even wished for it... You did, deep inside, thats why you are flying. The news disturbed Nemoralis greatly, but a vague memory came back to her. Anyone that looked towards the sky would see this memory: a rather small child, crying by her window, wishing to fly, to be dead and so, to be free and to be able to fly. The memory was there for anyone who watched Nemoralis, but it became oblivious to her as she flew around.

"Thank you," she said, cuddling up in the blanket. Everyone appeared to be quiet, but with all their thinking and inner reflection, quiet would not be the word Kazeh would use to describe the scene. She listened to their thoughts, learning little things about each of them, and seeing a piece of each of their personalities.

She watched as one of them began to fly. So, we've all changed somewhat in this place... Then another followed, and all of a sudden, the sky was illuminated by some kind of scene, like a memory. Kazeh began to wonder if it was only her that could see it, or if everyone else saw it as well.

But then she turned her attention back to James. "Oh, sorry James... my name is Kazeh." Her blue sparkling eyes were wide with hope.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 10:24 pm

His eyes lightened when she spoke. "Kazeh," he repeated after her. "That's a nice name." He sighed and looked at the sky, an image of a sad girl at a window flashing into his mind. Hm, he thought. That's never happened before. He shrugged it off and scooted closer to Kazeh, trying to help her warm up.

Sid stood from her spot by the fire and walked over to her makeshift tent. She crawled into it, barely small enough to fit. All the tents were short, but long enought to cover a body. She managed to turn around inside, then poked her head outside the front, propping herself up on her elbows. Daniels 'tent' was right beside hers. "How was your night?" she asked, almost mockingly. He laughed and shook his head. "It was actually pretty good," he replied, not making eye contact. There was a silence between the two, Daniel making little designs in the dirt and Sid staring at James. Daniel wanted to say something, something to start a conversation, but the words wouldn't come to his mouth. Instead, he settled for lying his head down and looking at her. After a moment, she realized where his eyes were directed, and giggled. "What?" she asked. He shook his head again. "Nothing. Just remembering the first night you came here." She smiled. "You were the first person to meet me." He nodded. "And I tripped down the stairs." He nodded again as they laughed together. She lay her head down and faced him, then reached her arm out towards him, not quite reaching. "I'm glad we're friends," she said. He smiled and put his hand on hers. "Me too."

He continued to run, yet couldn't see them on the horizon. All that blemished his line of vision was a tree about three hundred feet away. He let out a loud curse, realizing he'd left in the wrong direction. They were probably miles away. He sank to the ground and shook his head. Alex merely sighed. "I can't believe we went the wrong way," she said. She paused as he stood up angrily. "You should've known better." He curled his hands into fists and swung at her, knocking her to the ground. She looked back at him, a drop of blood hanging from her lip. She spat a swear at him, but he just smiled. "I can leave without you," he said, threateningly. He was about to turn, when a sound came from behind him. A crunching noise as something lifted from the ground. He turned to see a red shape rising through the dirt, pressing its surroundings away. It slid and cracked and molded into its shape, casting light on their situation. He turned back to Alex and smiled again. "Looks like I will be leaving without you," he said, walking towards the Phonebooth. He put his hand on the door, about to open it. An unseen force came at him like a painful epiphany, knocking him to the ground. He looked up to see a woman standing above him, not Alex. She had bright red hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a maroon sweat-shirt and black pants, while her feet were bare. In her hands were two diamond-shaped pieces of metal, sharpened to points. She smiled and slashed at him. He rolled to the side and did a backwards sommersault, returning to his feet. A quick jab and slice were easily parried, along with her lunge at him. He continued to dodge, parry, and block, not laying a hand on his opponent, waiting for the right time. She raised her blade over her head, bringing it down onto his skull. He reached his hand upward and caught it. There was a moment between the two as she struggled to release her weapon from his grip. A drip of blood was drawn from his hand, falling across his face. The entire time, he merely smiled. With one swift movement, he swung the butt of his hand at her head, sending her flying. He dusted himself off and turned back to the Phonebooth. A figure stood inside, frantically pressing numbers. She looked up as he came closer, realizing her possible fate. Alex continued pressing numbers, as though she knew which ones to press. He reached the Phonebooth and took hold of the door once again. There was a flash of light and he wrenched the door open. As though it had been scattered by a wind, the Phonebooth crumbled into a fine sand, blowing aside with the force of his opening. He stepped forward into the place where the Phonebooth had been a moment ago and screamed. He turned back to his attacker, ready to blame her for what had happened, but she was gone. He let forth another scream.

Nemoralis rejoiced with the wind on her face, she turned around and faced the sky; the stars were marvelous. She reached with her hand as if to catch a star and she then saw Alwyn, flying near by. She went towards her, and when she caught up, she gather her courage and asks her "would you like to race?"
