Luke followed James to the window and looked down. He had been looking out over the city earlier, not down, and had missed her.
"Don't bother," he said, leaning out the window. "Dani!" he called out, waving to her and standing on tip toe as he hung out over the window sill. "Come up so we can work out what to do!" He came back in as he started to cough a little but it passed without progressing into a fit so he made nothing of it. It did serve to remind him that he was going to appologize to Walter for compromising their moving quietly but he would wait until they had some time alone.
He moved back from the window and sat down once more, picking lightly at the food in front of him.

"Well, I guess that decides it...," Dani muttered, rising to her feet. "Come on, let's go!" she shot at Arba, tapping her foot impatiently. "They obviously want to talk to us." The daemon got up, shaking his fur. Arba trotted over to Dani and looked up at her, grinning.
"Let's go, then. It would be rude to keep them waiting."
"Ugh," Dani groaned, pushing Arba over so he fell on his side. "Why can't you be nice and quiet and calm?" Not bothered in the slightest, the wolf rolled to his feet and led the way inside with Dani trailing unhappily behind him. Once inside, they went to the room Luke had entered the night before, knocking gently. Casually, Dani said, "I hope they aren't in the other room he ordered..."

Jane walked back to the door. "I'll find Rayne then." She opened the door for Dani and walked past her. She went downstaires and looked around the commen area for the witch or her daemon. Shade started to sniff the floor for Rayne's sent.

Dani hung by the door awkwardly as James and Shade walked by, wondering if she was supposed to enter or not. Prompted by Arba nudging the back of her calves, she took several steps into the room, leaving the door open in case she needed to make a hasty escape. Dani looked around, looking anywhere but Luke and Walter. Finally resigning herself to speak, Dani opened her mouth, letting out an articulate, "Umm." She could sense Arba rolling his eyes at her, and briefly wondered how the brothers would react if she stamped on one of his paws. At least he was being quiet, for now...

Luke smiled when Dani entered the room looking intensly uncomfortable. He had no real idea why, did they look like intimidating people? Luke knew he didn't, probably just the opposite. He looked over to Walter. Nope, well Luke didn't think so anyway, but Walter was Luke's brother and he knew he could trust him no matter what so there was a bit of bias involved.
"Do you... you know, wanna come to Oxford with us?" he asked. "I mean if you have a home or some place to go to then... well you know, that's ok, just... you haven't gone home if you have some place to go to so if you would rather come with us..."
"You're rambling," Rhynll said softly and Luke glared at him while blushing with embaressment at the same time. He liked Dani, she was possibly the first person he knew around his age to be nice to him, first person at all really; his father rarely let him out of the hosue and when he snuck our or ran out he usually avoided everyone. And now she probably thought he was stupid or thick in the head or something. Along with any pitty he didn't want because of his cough. Great. Just great.

Walter ate quietly, not looking up, and listened to the intensely awkward conversation taking place. It would be good for Luke to have someone his own age around, he reflected, but it would be easy enough for him to find friends in Oxford.
He finished his eggs and glanced at the girl. She looked exhausted, hungry, and ready to bolt. "Would you like something to eat, at least?" he asked pleasantly.

Rayne looked at the 'boy' James as he entered, and 'his' daemon started sniffing around. She was wrapped in her black cloak, and as she stood up she pushed back her hood.
"Looking for me, I suppose?" she asked, with a slight smile.
"Really, trying to scent out a witch is pointless. Didn't you know, all we smell of is ice and smoke." she spoke quietly but clearly as she passed the girl.
"I presume I'm to join you upstairs, then?" Without waiting for an answer, she began to walk up the stairs.

Jane scowled as Rayne past her. "No. We didn't," she mumbled.
Shade looked up with an appologectic look on his face. "Sorry."
Jane picked him up and tickled him behind his ears as she walked back up towards the room. "It's not your falt."
Together they walked back into the room.

Dani shifter uneasily, scratching the back of one calf with her other foot. She bit her lip, trying to think this through. On one hand, she did want to go, to leave for a while. But on the other, London was her life. It was all she had ever known. Now that she had the opportunity, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to go. Dani frowned, remembering her father's words last night. He was getting ready to send her away, anyway. Wouldn't it be more dignified to go under her own terms? Then again, she didn't know these people...and they obviously had secrets...
Dani and Arba both started as Walter asked if she would like anything. Biting her lip, she shook her head furiously, trying to sort her thoughts and figure whether or not it was worth it to go to Oxford.
She was saved the trouble of coming up with an immediate answer as James and Rayne walked into the room. Arba pressed himself against Dani's leg as Shade passed them, lifting his lip over his teeth slightly. He hadn't forgotten his discovery from the previous night, and was still disturbed by it. Silently, Dani grabbed the scruff of his neck and stepped backwards, pulling him with her. "Don't be stupid," she hissed.

((ok guys I'm going to be away for undetermined amount of time. I'm moving and the new place I'm in wont have internet till I can afford to connect it (it costs around $150 US just for connection here). I may be on every now and then either when I find an internet cafe or make the long trip into uni but I don't know how often that will be. If you want to continue without me that's fine, Luke will likely do anything Walter wants them to do, he idolizes him lol. Just try not to go too far too fast cause then it will be hard for me to post when I do get internet))

Shade cocked his head to look at Arba and obsurved the wolf. "It is not that unnaturral to have a daemon that is the same sex as the person. Rare, yes, but possible." He then turned back as Jane sat down on the floor near the bed.
Jane looked up at Walter. "Everyone's here. Now what are you planning to do?"

Walter finished chewing, seeming completely unhurried by James' prompting. When he'd finished he took a sip of coffee. Finally he spoke. "I was going to go down and buy nice, upper-class dresses for the two of you." He paused. "Or three of you- and some nice clothes for Luke."
He brought a hand up to touch his purpled cheekbone lightly and smiled wryly. "Unfortunately, I'm no longer sure that I'm the best person to go. I'll probably have to send out." He waved his hand, dismissing this as unimportant. "In any case, we'll get the clothes, and then go down, buy tickets, and get on the boat." He took another sip of coffee. "Nothing simpler."

((just an update: I STILL don't have internet (or even a phone) but I hope to get that sorted asap since I need it for uni purposes, I'm using the computers at uni for now. It should be no longer than two weeks till I'm completely up and running))
Luke cocked his head to the side as Dani seemed to be indecisive about whether she should come with them or not. He didn't really understand how that could be since for him, the only thing he had in London were dead memories and an abusive father. He had a whole new future ahead of him in Oxford with Walter and so couldn't wait to leave. He was also curious as to whether the murders were only in London like everyone was saying or if they were elsewhere but at the moment he had other concerns. Like Walter's words to take him to a doctor; that he planned to avoid.
Luke grinned when James saying it was unusual but not unnatural for a daemon and human to be the same sex. He nodded and added, "Mhmm, me and Rhynll are both male but I don't think we're any different to you."
He was excited to be getting nice clothes. Or maybe it would be more correct to say he was simply excited since everything at the moment made him feel that way. Though his grin quickly turned to a frown when Walter touched his cheek leading Luke to notice the bruise for the first time. Immediately he got up and brought the water basin over and the cloth that was with it, holding it to Walter's bruised cheek. "You shouldn't have gone acting the hero," he softly chided his older brother; he didn't like the idea that Walter had been hurt because of him.
"So... let's go already," he said, his abated excitement returning already.

Dani raised her brow as Luke alerted her to the fact that both he and his daemon were of the same sex. She glanced at Arba, who nodded. She let her grip on his neck loosen, and watched as Luke cared for his brother's injury. They didn't seem like bad people...
Arba whined softly and inclined his head, licking Dani's wrist in reassurance. She smiled lightly and took a deep breath, still not sure if this was the right decision. "I think....I'll go with you guys...for a while, at least." The last part was a lie, of course, as she would have no where else to go. Still, she felt it helped her retain a little dignity.

Walter nodded agreeably. "Good enough." He thought about asking if she had any family she needed to tell about the extended vacation she was taking, she obviously was no older than Luke, but quickly decided against it; it wasn't any of his business.
Something wet was touching his bruised cheek timidly. He blinked and suddenly noticed Luke was trying to clean him up. Shaking his head, he brushed the boy away. "Don't worry about it. It's my fault for not staying up to put ice on it. Could you go down and ask the man at the desk if he could send out for three dresses in sizes..." He trailed off, looking James over. "Uh... two, slim, I think, and...?" He trailed off, looking expectantly at the other two girls.
